Notes:

Froggy and Clover here, here’s another one and we are both sorry that the next chapter of ‘It’s Always Gonna Chase Him For His Lies’ hasn’t been completed. Life’s been insane, seriously.

But enjoy the first chapter, it’s filler and basically and explanation for how this all exists in the 1800’s

Chapter 1: Explination

Chapter Text

It had been quite a strange day. The lodgers had been quite busy doing whatever they usually do, however it had been strangely quiet.

Doctor Henry Jekyll had been making his usual rounds when two of the lodgers had excitedly approached him. Said lodgers were Mister Pennebrygg and Miss Virginia Ito.

The two had apparently combined their shared knowledge and created several copies of the same device. Along with involving Miss Flowers, who had previously made a locational device for doctor Jekyll himself.

“Doctor Jekyll!” Mister Pennebrygg called out, running behind to catch up the doctor, Virginia Ito and Miss Flowers hot on his tail. “We have something to show you, Doctor Jekyll!”

Said doctor in question turned around to see three frazzled lodgers holding several rectangular devices that seemed hand-held.

“Oh? And what is going on that has you three so frazzled in the first place?” Doctor Jekyll asked in response.

“We have created several devices that have the ability to send messages through a singular source of energy and can be charged to regain the energy that it uses during the day to keep functional!” Virginia Ito remarked, smiling widely.

Doctor Jekyll himself was impressed. Never before had someone created a device that could send messages at will.

“That’s incredible!” Doctor Jekyll remarked, a warm smile painting itself on his face. “Truly incredible you three!”

“Exactly!” Mister Penebrygg responded, a wide smile on his face, his hair frazzled, dark circles painting themselves under his eyes. “The point of this is that this simple piece of handheld technology can be spread throughout society! Making it easier for everyone to contact each other without actually having to visit their rooms!”

Doctor Jekyll’s eyes widened in fascination and wonder. Again, never before had someone ever done such a wondrous thing!

“I’m quite impressed with the combined efforts of you three!” Doctor Jekyll remarked. The three lodgers faces lit up, joy building itself on their already excited facial expressions. “What else do they do besides send messages to other devices of the same sort? he questioned.

“Well-!” Jekyll listened to the three lodgers rant, one handing him a device and attempting to explain how it works.

Needless to say it took twenty minutes to get Jekyll to understand the devices, and the rest of the day to get the rest of the lodgers on board.

And Jekyll was having a good day, he was proud of the lodgers and their collective inventions. . .that was before they’d made a group chat.
