Notes:

Thank you for clicking on this fic! But before you proceed, I'd like to say a few things:
this is my first ever public work and English is not my native language, meaning there will be grammar mistakes and poorly formulated sentences;
I have a busy and schedule, this fic is just a hobby and will take some time to update;
I'm open to requests and criticism, if you'd like to share ideas or have someone else write a scenario you've been craving to read, do let me know! With that out of the way, hope you enjoy!

Chapter Text

Today was a day like any other for the odd pair, they weren't on a date or partaking in dangerous activities, merely "Doing what couples do", according to A.B.A, which, in this case, meant house chores. Such a mundane activity wouldn't normally get anything out of Paracelsus, but that changed ever since he got a human body. "Testament gave us this house, the least we can do is keep it tidy!" Was what he would reply every time A.B.A teased him for being "excited", but he wasn't excited! He was being thankful, they were gifted an entire lake house just because Testament wasn't interested in fishing anymore! (They very much were, but deemed the safety of the couple more important than one of their many hobbies). He didn't understand why these little things affected him this much, he didn't lose his temper then, why now? There was no reason to be so responsive over A.B.A's constant fawning and praise. But besides that weird feeling, he was quite happy to spend time with his wife instead of constantly fighting to survive, those dark days were long gone, Paracelsus has been a homunculus for a few weeks already, and by that time, "meeting halfway" has done wonders to their socialization skills and emotional regulation, enough so that they could easily integrate themselves in modern society without worrying about those outbursts. A.B.A had even found a job to sustain their new life! She was so happy to share the news, a little anxious of what was to come, sure, but it was her first job, more than justified to feel that way, especially given their previous situation. Her husband's reassurance quickly overtook those thoughts, however, which left the two of them enough room to celebrate together.

Paracelsus found himself thinking about these moments as they carried on with their tasks, he could remember so many of little details... as an axe, most of the "insignificant" things would fly right over his head, or bow, rather. His improved memory was incredibly useful for pleasing A.B.A, it was the only reason they were sweeping the floors and dusting the shelves together too. He planned a cleaning day after hearing her ramblings about "the cozy aspects of homely activities" and it couldn't made her happier, so much so, she would constantly reward him by pressing his body against the walls or counters and stealing quick kisses that gave him butterflies and brought back that pesky unknown sensation, but this time he was actually enjoying it? How come?? All of it was so confusing, overwhelming, he had to ask for some kind of explanation! But later. He doesn't want to ruin his beloved's moment like that, not that he could... given how whenever he tried to talk only gibberish would come out of his mouth.

The rest of their time was spent like that, she would come up behind him, drown him in affection, he would be flustered and she would go about with the cleaning after teasing him for a bit, the fact he couldn't predict her actions was the worst part, or maybe best, he quite liked being surprised and she loved catching him off guard. The house was spotless by the end of the day, all that was left for them to do was bathe and rest for the night, so they did. Paracelsus was already laying down, ready to drift off to sleep, but waiting for his partner to do so, he wanted to talk to her as well, there were so many thoughts floating around his head. How would he even start talking about this? How will he describe what he felt? Why is he feeling some of it again just by thinking of the things they did today??? His sleepiness did not help at all, everything is mushy.. fuzzy... soft like his wife... he wants a hug... maybe a few kisses? Yes please. Oh how he loved A.B.A, her sweet words of praise kept ringing on his ears, minutes felt like hours of waiting, why did she have to stay in the bath that long? He even offered to carry her to bed and she refused! He just wants to be close, heart to heart, melting into one another's embrace- he felt the mattress sink and his thoughts, previously running wild, settled into his lover, her arms wrapped around his torso while she nuzzled her face on the crook of his neck. "Dear... don't drift off to sleep just yet, I want to talk before we slumber..." instant relief overcame his senses, making him shiver, together at last. "A.B.A...." he mumbled, barely loud enough for her to hear. "Thank you for today, love, it was wonderful." She shifted, adjusting herself between the pillows. "But... you looked so bothered whenever I touched you... have I done something wrong?" She sounded calm but the quivers and voice cracks gave away her facade, she was upset, because he could not contain his discomfort for a few hours, it was his fault, he ruined their day! "W-what n-no, A.B.A I-" she interrupted "it's fine, you can tell me." He was at a loss for words, but he had to say something... anything to fix this! "I'm sorry, I... I don't know what came over me today... I keep on feeling this thing... it's weird." She perks up, worried for his well-being "Huh? What is that you are feeling, dear? Are you ill?" He avoids her gaze, feeling overwhelmed by guilt. " I-I don't know! It gives me goosebumps, tickles the pit of my stomach, makes my head spin and messes up my line of thought... My heart beats faster too. I'm so confused..." then came deafening silence. "Aawnn, love! How adorable! I'd never thought you would be so easily flustered!" "F-flustered? No! I-" "You don't need to be shy! Oh we would have had so much more fun if I had known" "A-A.B.A I'm not flustered! That cant be it!" "Why not, dear? You have a human body now, its bound to come with human feelings. I know its weird, but you'll get used to it soon!" "Maybe..." he laid in silence for a while, averting his gaze to the wall while trying to make sense of everything that just happened. "Don't look so grimm, love! I'll make it up to you tomorrow" she planted a kiss to his forehead "for now lets rest, I'm sure you're tired hehe." He shivered once again after feeling his wife's cold lips on his skin, drowsiness finally setting in now that he was not as anxious. "I love you A.B.A" he scooted closer, fading into sleep, his partner's sweet voice being the last thing he heard for the night. "I love you too, dear."
