Chapter 1: Hunting

Chapter Text

Joey

This was insane!

One minute, he was his couch, on his phone and the next thing he knew everywhere around him, things started falling apart. Melting like they were made of wax in the desert. Buildings start to collapse around him, fire hydrants shot waves of water into the air, wetting the entire street and everyone in it, including Joey. Car alarms

People started to crowd him, whipping their phones out and talking videos of him, no matter how much Joey screamed and pleaded for help, they all stepped away from him.

Then, these military guys started coming out of all corners, shoving guns in his face and yelling at him to get on the ground.

“We have the target in sight ma’am, fifth between pike and union.” One of the men said into a radio.

“Contain the threat, use lethal force if necessary.” A woman spoke on the other end. Joey’s eyes widened in fear as he heard that.

“Wait- Lethal force? I’m not trying to do this! I need help!” Joey tried to tell them, but one of the soldiers raised a handgun at him.

“Don’t move, goddamnit! I will shoot you!” He threatened.

“Okay! Okay!” Joey cooperated, putting his hands up. “I will do whatever you say!” He told them, beginning to bend over a nearby car in surrender. However, as soon as Joey’s hands touched the car, everything around him start to melt. The car and the soldiers’ guns in their hands. Joey quickly stepped away from the car, watching the chaos begin to unfold and started to run.

Before he could though, the exploded, knocking everyone back. Joey’s head hit the rough tarmac of the road; he winced in pain as he quickly began to run for it. He could the screams of the soldiers to go after him. They then started shooting at him as he ran down the street, yelling at him to freeze.

Joey soon found himself in an alleyway, realising it was a dead-end, he quickly hid behind a stack of wooden pallets, but it was futile, the soldiers noticed him hiding, raising their weapons and yelling at him to freeze. Joey was prepared to turn himself in, but then the ground started to shake, shaking everything around them as well.

“AGH!” Joey turned his head to some of the soldiers being thrown in the air by something, soon enough they were all knocked back by it one by one, along with one of their cars.

Suddenly, a woman with short brown hair, dressed in tactical gear stepped out. The woman also wore a weird set of bracers on her wrist. The woman turned to face him and started to run towards him, Joey begin to walk back in fear, then noticing two other people behind the woman. A large, dark-skinned man and a tan skinned woman with black and a faint scar on the side of her face, who was throwing smoke bombs into the street.

“What’s your name?” The woman in tactical gear asked him. Joey just kept staring at her, wondering what the hell was going on.

“Guy, what’s your name?” The woman asked him, looking very frustrated.

“J-Joey!” He answered, snapping out of his trance.

“Joey, my name is Daisy. I’m with Shield, we’re here for your protection.” She tried to explain to him.

“There’s more on the way, first unit’s down or wetting themselves. That SUV must’ve got the point across.” The large man said over his shoulder.

Joey started to look around him as the scarred woman placed something on the ground. What was it? Was it a bomb?

“Joey, Joey. Stay with me, okay?” Daisy tried to get his attention. Joey looked back to face her, feeling like he too was about to wet his pants.

“I know you’re scared and your whole world is flipped upside down, but believe it or not, I’ve been through this. Okay?” Daisy told him, a reassuring look on her face. “I can help.”

“We’ll get you out of here.” The large man said over his shoulder.

Joey looked at them, talking in their words. He then realises what made the people and cars fly through the air. He then pointed at Daisy with fear trembling in his hands. “It was you, y-you made the car and the people—.”

Joey then felt his arm being pulled away by the other woman.

“You may want to back up a little, dude.” She told him, as she said that, a giant white pod came from the sky, landing on the ground with a thud.

Daisy then started to lead him to the pod, pushing him inside.” I know it’s a lot to take in, but right now you have very few options and zero time. So, please just go with it.” She requested, shutting the door to the pod behind him.

“We’ll be right behind you.” The scarred woman reassured him, cracking a smile. “Not like this day can get any crazier, right?” She joked, before the three of them ran, leaving Joey in the pod.

“Right?” Joey said to himself. Then, the pod flew up into air. Joey screamed as he watched through the window of the pod. The city below him begin to disappear and up into the clouds he went.

“I TAKE THAT BACK!” Joey screamed.

2 hours later- The Zephyr -Daisy

“This is not going to be easy”

Daisy quietly to herself, as she watches Joey start to lie down in the pod. This was the first inhuman they have caught in months; they were lucky to. Whoever was there first was so close to grabbing him and taking him to god knows where.

“How’s he holding up?”

Daisy turned to see Coulson behind her, she smiles slightly and walks over to him, crossing her arms as she looks back at the pod containing Joey.

“As well as can be expected.” She states. Coulson nods his head at the answer.

“Third incident already this month.” He comments. “We were lucky to get our hands on this one.”

“The rate of new cases is increasing.” Daisy adds, seeing where he is going with this.

“We knew it would, after the initial reports.” Coulson says.

“A new inhuman could emerge anywhere without any idea of what is happening.” Daisy theorizes, it was already hard enough for her to get used to having powers, and she had help from both Shield and Afterlife. Having no one to help you get through the Mist, to say it was awful to think about was an understatement.

“Only in the continental US so far.” Coulson says. “Plus, this new aircraft can stay in the air much longer than the old plane.”  Daisy rolls her eyes as Coulson starts to lsit the pros of the new plane.

“You love your new toy, don’t you?” Daisy teases him.

“I very much love my new toy.” Coulson admits with no hesitation and no shame. “But, even with the mind-boggling range on this puppy...”

“Inhumans are still disappearing.” Daisy finishes for him, with a sigh.

“This is the first one in a while, we’ve been able to secure.” Coulson says, looking at the pod.

“Well, it’s no mystery who’s taking them.” Daisy states, sarcastically. “That black ops group was there before us.”

“I know.”

“Again. How many do you think they’ve taken?” Daisy questions.

“We know at least five sightings.” Coulson points out. “All disappeared without a trace. Who’s running it though is the real question.” He says, walking over to the computer terminal.

“Not if you did your part.” Daisy says, seeing the picture of the woman in the car. “How does it feel to join the paparazzi, Phil?” She jokes.

Coulson smirks at the jape. “I think I missed my calling. I have every person, program and algorithm searching for an identity for that woman.” He tells her, pointing at the picture being ran through a face recognition software. “Find out where she’s taking Inhumans.”

“You think she might be Hydra?” Daisy suggests.

Coulson shrugs. “It’s possible, I’ll have Kara look over it to see if she recognises her. Grant too, once he gets back from London.” Daisy frowns and furrows her eyebrows in confusion at the last few words, she knew Gr—Agent Carmine was gone, hunting down Kebo and his Hydra cells, but nothing about him being in London.

“Last I heard, he was in Madrid.” Daisy retorts.

Coulson raises an eyebrow in surprise. “Seriously? I’ve been telling him to check in these last few months, but he’s been off the grid for weeks.” Coulson mutters.

“Why did you even let him go all ‘lone wolf’ in the first place?” Daisy questions. “We need all hands-on deck right now. May’s gone, Bobbi is still healing from last year and Fitz is chasing down leads on—” Daisy soon stops herself as she is reminded of her best friend missing member of their team, being sucked into a giant, black brick with no trace of her left behind.

Coulson sighs and grabs her hand with his robot hand, the robot hand still cold to to the touch, reminding Daisy of Coulson’s sacrifice on the Iliad. “Simmons’ disappearance took a toll on all of us, Grant included. I think this is his way of coping. Digging himself into work, to numb out the pain. You two have that in common” Coulson tells her.

Daisy hated to admit it, but he was right. When the monolith took Simmons, she practically threw herself into hunting other Inhumans and other Field missions. It helped her cope with the fact she lost a sister.

Daisy sighs in tiredness. “Look, all I’m saying is get him back, we need the bodies, so next time you talk to him, tell him to get off his ass and come back home, where he belongs.” She says walking away.

“I’ll be sure to pass along the message!” Coulson says loudly, causing Daisy to chuckle and flip him the bird over her head.

Coulson

“They’re not Hydra. I’ve been digging and street sources tell me Hydra’s gone silent. Looks like Carmine’s really giving it to the shit-bags.” Kara informs him as they walk into the office. Mack is already there waiting for him. Coulson gives him a nod as he enters, the engineer has really stepped up since Grant went hunting.

“Yeah, the Hydra finances and assets we track are static. No money is changing hands.” Coulson adds as he walks over to the screen in the office.

“And by the looks of the weapons, these new guys are using, they’re well-funded.” Kara states, putting the bagged weapon on the table for Coulson to look at. Coulson then brings up the picture of the mystery woman’s many aliases.

“So, it this woman’s not Hydra, What is she?” Coulson wondered out loud.

“Everything else.” Mack comments. “I mean, two years CIA...”

“MI6 as well.” Kara adds, blown away by the woman’s career.

“While, she was also consulting with the CDC apparently.” Mack states.

“All under different aliases.” Coulson reads.

“I think I just found my new role model here, guys.” Kara jokes. Mack let out a small chuckle, while Coulson just rolled her eyes.

“Well, don’t be asking for her autograph just yet, we still need to track her down.” Coulson retorts.

“Yeah, but how are we meant to track someone like this, it’ll be like finding a needle in a city sized haystack.” Mack says.

“If we can track that hardware, that could give us a place to start.” Coulson tells them, sliding it over to Kara. “Take that down to Bobbi in the lab, get the team to analyse.” He says, going over to a box in the corner of the room.

Kara winces. “Yeah, the thing is, boss. Bobbi and I aren’t really on speaking terms right now and if I can go down to talk. Things might get...Awkward to say the least.”  She explained, rubbing her neck awkwardly.

Coulson dead panned at her as he took off his robotic hand. “Fine, I’ll give it to her, wouldn’t want to make things... Awkward.” He says sarcastically, ripping the arm from it’s socket.

“I know you’re being sarcastic and all, but I thank you anyway for your kindness.” She speaks.

“Mack, you should head downstairs, help Skye with the intake.” Coulson states.

“Daisy.” Mack corrects him.

“Daisy, damn it.” Coulson swears. “With everything that’s been happening, Bobbi’s indexing, May leaving, Grant in Madrid. Anyone else find it hard to get used to?”

“Nope.” “Nah, just you.”

Kara then raises any eyebrow. “And I thought Carmine was in Paris?”

Mack shakes his head and points at himself. “I heard he was in Tokyo.”

Coulson looks at both in disbelief. “Seriously?”

“New readings on the Monolith?” Coulson asks Bobbi as the earth begins to shake, just as he entered the lab.

“Nope, that was Daisy firing a warning shot.” Bobbi answers.

“No new reading on the monolith in months, Nobody goes in there, Fitz won’t even put probe drones on the room. No one has been in there since... Simmons was swallowed up by it.” she tells Coulson sadly, to which he nods in understanding. Coulson then decides to change the subject, by nodding over to the video tape of Daisy and Mack looking over a unconscious Joey.

“This was fish oil again?” He asked.

Bobbi nods. “What can I say? We pulled the product off shelves, but we can’t track down every bottle sold.” She explains, leading Coulson into the research lab.

“The good news, if you can call it that, is the deadly metallic elements sank to the bottom, making it harmless to humans, only affecting Inhumans.” She says, taking him through the research she has collected, until eventually they come to what was once Coulson’s left hand.

“The bad news...” She trails off.

“It’s not just in fish oil, is it?” Coulson asks rhetorically. “Where else could it have spread?”

“Anywhere. Other sea life, with ocean currents, it’s dispersed into the ecosystem. We’re working on a program that should help us narrow it down. Should be up in the next few hours” She reassures.

“That biology degree is finally coming in handy, huh.” Coulson jokes, but Bobbi just grunts in frustration. Coulson understands, he had seen her working in the lab, she would look like she wished to be anywhere else. Never smart to lock a wolf up, when it should be running free.

“Leaving me to be stuck looking at screens for all eternity.” She grunts.

“I get it, rehabs a bitch. How are you holding by the way?” He asks.

Bobbi shrugs. “I’m okay, the first few months were a bitch to get through, but after that... Everything else seemed to be heightened. Taste, smell. I can eat anything I want without getting fat as well, so that’s a plus. I can also hear everything.  Like how I know, you asked Kara to come down her, but she refused, leaving you to play visitor.” She joked, bumping shoulders with him.

Coulson winces. “Heard that, did you?”

Bobbi waves him off dismissively. “It’s fine, I just... I just really wish Grant was here, it’s nice to have someone around who knows what it’s like.” She admitted, looking into space as she spoke.

Coulson put a light comforting hand on her shoulder. “I understand, I’ll be sure to arrange for you two to go for a run at Fury’s cabin once he gets back.” Coulson promises to her, after the other Shield broke into the remote safehouse, Coulson had it fixed up, in order for Grant and Bobbi to transform and run free as wolves in peace.

“I would like that, where is Grant anyway?” Bobbi asked him. Coulson just shook his head.

“Apparently, none of us knows where he is.” Coulson answered, before taking a second around the lab. “By the way, where’s Fitz? Hunter’s gone too.”

Bobbi just shrugged innocently. “No idea, I thought they went out for lunch together.”

Morocco

BANG! BANG!

“Run!”

“I am!”

“Well, run faster!”

Gunshots echo throughout the marketplace as Fitz and Hunter sprint to the taxi, gunmen chasing after them while shooting at them. Fitz quickly jumps into the car, while Hunter fires back at the attackers, before getting in the car swell.

“Floor it!” Hunter cries, Fitz then puts his foot to the metal, driving the car with rapid speed as they flee from the gunmen. Hunter looks back to see they’re in the clear and looks back at Fitz.

“Did you get it?” Hunter asks.

Fitz nodded, holding up a papyrus in his hand. “Swiped it from them, soon as I set off the decoy splinter bomb.” He spoke, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

Hunter laughs at their luck. “Flash splinter bombs, bloody hell, Fitz. Would’ve never thought of that.”

“Yeh well, you can thank Kara for the idea.” Fitz told him. Hunter grins at the sentence.

“You can bet your arse I will, now let’s get back to the Playground before they notice we’re gone.” Hunter states as he leans back in his seat, while they drive away.

The Playground

“Joey’s freaking out in there.”

Daisy tells Coulson as they look at him in his cell through the screen in Coulson’s office. “He’s having a tough time with this. The change is hard enough physically. But emotionally, it’s a whole other thing. I tried talking him down, but I blew it in there. And Mack is not exactly coming off as a teddy bear.” She states, side eying Mack.

“You just told the guy I’m a teddy bear!” Mack exclaimed.

“And then, you told him, his chances were his head being blown off!” Daisy retorts, but Coulson quickly quietens them, by putting his hand up.

“So, what do you recommend?” Coulson asks her.

Daisy gives a small smile in gratitude, before laying all her cards on the table. “We need someone with experience in welcoming new Inhumans. Someone who can help us.” She says.

Coulson tilts his head in suspicion, quickly understanding who she was talking about. “Lincoln? You want to go there again?” He asks hesitantly as they walk back out into the hallway.

Daisy nods. “He could help with intake. Plus, he understands the physical change. He’s a doctor, whereas we don’t even know what medical treatments to give.” She states.

Coulson looks hesitant as he considers it. “Last time, you tried. He didn’t really seem sold on it.” He reminds her.

“So, I’d like to try again.”

Coulson nods his head, before looking at Mack. “What’s your say, Mack?”

Mack shakes his head in dismissal. “Sir, I voiced my opinion about Lincoln, when we let him walk free, I’d gladly drag him back here, if he takes a step out of line.” The engineer then points at Daisy. “However, if Tremors can talk him in, I’m all for it.”

Coulson nods his head. “Okay, you have your shot. Both of you go, Requisition a flight crew and a jet, bring him in if you can.” They both nod at Coulson, before walking away to get ready.

“Hey, Coulson.” Bobbi calls. “Got her.” She calls him over into the lab.

Coulson walks up beside her to look at a computer footage of the mystery woman meeting with someone else.

“Weapon is a DARPA prototype. We tapped surveillance at multiple DARPA facilities, got a hit. The D.C. branch office. She visits every few days.” Bobbi tells him.

“A routine, is there a window we can meet her.” Coulson asks.

Bobbi nods her head. “It’s a small one. Every night she visits, she leaves at approximately 9:00 P.M. With a small security detail. They’re all three dropped at the metro station on 12th half an hour later. Her escorts buy her a coffee on the walk to the platform. But she boards the 9:35 train alone. Sits in the middle, drinks her coffee, and answers e-mails. It’s the only time she’s alone all day.” She states.

Coulson nods. “Good job, I’ll go meet her.”

Just in the nick of time, Fitz and Hunter walk into the lab. Hunter pales at the sight of Bobbi and quickly begins to turn around to walk out. Fitz just looks at the ground to avoid Coulson’s gaze.

“Hey! Perfect timing, Hunter, you’re with me.” He says, before fixing at Fitz with a stare that says. ‘We are so having a talk later.’

Before, Coulson walk out, he points at Bobbi. “And find Agent Carmine. Tell him, his ass better be here by the time I get back, or I’m taking his badge.” He orders, before walking back out with Hunter.

Venice

As the bustling streets of Venice goes on, the streets and canals, packed with tourists and working class alike. No one seems to notice the run-down warehouse at the end of the cities poorer streets or more importantly what was happening inside of it.

Inside the warehouse, it looked like a warzone, tables flipped over and filled with bullet holes, blood and claw marks littered the walls and floors, crates of weapons were smashed to pieces. Bodies were scattered everywhere, some even missing vital limbs and organs.

A man, looking brutally injured and bloody crawled on the floor. He looked like he could only use his right arm as he used it to move his way across the floor.

“Please!” The man shouted out, his voice echoing throughout the building. “Show mercy!”

Suddenly, a second figure came up beside the man, flipping him over and pulling him up by the shirt. The man was then met by a pair of glowing yellow eyes, and a low voice soon followed. The man looked at the offender, to see a dark haired man with a stubble in his face, wearing a brown leather jacket, dark shirt and jeans along with a pair of black combat boots.

“Where is he? Where’s Kebo!” Grant questioned harshly. His golden irises shining brightly as he stared the whimpering man down.

The man looked to be on the verge of pissing himself as he faced Grant. “I-I don’t know who you’re talking about!”

The man was soon met by a swift and harsh punch to the face, the man cried out as he felt his nose crack.

Grant then shook the man as he whispered closely into his ear. “I am not the kind of man you want to lie to. So, I’m going to ask you again, if you lie, I’ll tear out your throat and throw it into the canal.” He threatened, closing his hand around the man’s neck.

“Now, I ask again. Where. Is. Kebo?” He demanding, punctuating out every word.

The man just whimpered in fear, closing his eyes and shaking his head frantically in denial. “Please, he’ll kill me if I tell you!” He cried.

Grant just showed him a wolfish grin. “If you don’t tell, I’ll kill you.” He calmly threatened.

The tear-stricken man just steeled his jaw, choosing to remain silent. Grant grunted, then proceeded to squeeze the man’s throat, starting to tear into the skin, drawing blood. The man’s eyes budged out of his skull, feeling the air in his neck being stolen, starting to grasp for air.

“Last chance...” Grant said with a singsong tone.

The man start gasping as he was choked out. “Wait! Waaaaiitt!” He struggled to get out with Grant’s iron grasp. Grant let out a satisfied breath and loosened his grip.

The man gasped and waited a moment to catch his breath as he felt the air renter his lungs. Grant then shook him again.

“Talk.” Grant gritted out.

The man sighed in defeat. “Von Strucker, he’s going after Von Strucker.”

Grant grunted in frustration. “Bullshit! Von Strucker died in Sokovia, Ultron killed him.”

“Not the Baron, the kid. Werner Von Strucker. I don’t know why—.”

Bzzz-Bzzz Bzzz-Bzzz

The man was suddenly cut off by the sound of something vibrating. Grant let out another frustrated sigh, as he dug into his back pocket, retrieving his phone and declined the call. “Sorry, you were saying?” Grant permissioned the man to continue.

The man looked at him in confusion, before continuing to speak. “I was saying. Werner—.”

Bzzz-Bzzz Bzzz-Bzzz

Grant swore as he felt the phone vibrate again and shot a sheepish smile the man’s way, digging his phone back up. “One minute, please.” He said, before putting the phone up to his ear. “What?”

“We need you back in.” Bobbi’s voice came through the phone.

“I’m busy.” Grant grunted out.

“Busy enough, to not even call your best friend?” She teased.

“You’re not my best friend, though.” Grant countered.

“Liar, besides Coulson said if you aren’t back by the time he’s back, he’s taking your badge.” She warned him.

Grant spluttered as he heard that. “He can’t do that!”

“He’s kind of the director of Shield, so pretty sure he can.”

Grant growled at the fact. “Fine, I just gotta wrap a few things up first. Where is Coulson anyway?”

“Chasing down the woman who’s been hunting Inhumans. How’s the hunt for Kebo going?”

Grant shrugged, even though Bobbi can’t see it. “Bastard’s been smart, nearly had him in Paris.”

“You’ll get him, but right now we need you. Even Daisy has been asking about you.”

That definitely got Grant’s attention, Sky- Agent Johnson has been asking for him? “Yeah, probably wants me to join her little welcome wagon—.”

BANG!

Grant was then cut off by the sound of a gunshot ringing out and feeling something splatter on his face, looking down to see the man he held in his hands, now supporting a bullet hole at the side of his head. Grant then looked in the direction of the gunshot to see another man holding a gun in his direction. Grant groaned, speaking into the phone.

“I’m going to have to call you back.”

“Have fun, Love youuuu.” Bobbi sang into the phone before hanging up.

Grant rolled his eyes as he hung up, dropping the now dead man onto the floor, wiping the blood from his face and standing up to face the man. “You couldn’t let him live for maybe a few minutes?” Grant asked rhetorically

The man showed a maniacal grin. “Little rat died, the moment he opened his mouth.”  He said in broken English, his thick Italian accent coming out in full.

“And me? Is the next bullet in the chamber for me?” Grant asked, taking his own gun out from his belt.

The Hydra operative shook his head. “Nono, signor Carmine. Il capo told us to leave your death for him. That he would be the one to end your life. My life on the other hand...” He trailed off, taking out a necklace with runic symbols on it.

“Is finished.”

The man then started muttering out words in Latin, the necklace starting to glow a very ethereal orange, soon enough the man started glowing as well, like he was burning from the inside out. Grant took a step back as flames started to surround the man, even then the man still had his maniacal grin painted across his face.

“Hail Hydra!” The man screamed through the flames. “Hail Hydra!”

“What the fuck?” Grant muttered under his breath in shock and amazement.

“HAIL HYDRA!” The man screamed at the top of his lung as his skin melted from his skeleton before erupting into flames, the fire then died down as quick as a click of the fingers, leaving only a burning black skeleton lying on the floor.

Grant stood in the warehouse with widened eyes, looking at the sizzling skeleton.

“What the fuck was that?” Grant asked out loud.

The Playground 5 hours later- Hunter

Hunter sighed in relief as he stepped out of the shower, he definitely needed after the day he had. Fighting a few dozen spies on a moving train took a lot of energy. Just as he stepped of the bathroom, he found himself being attacked by a pair of lips as he was pushed against his drawer. Knowing full well who the lips belonged to, Hunter eagerly kissed them back.

Hunter then felt the lips pulled away from his, opening his eyes to see caramel coloured ones staring back at him.

“Hey.” Kara greeted, a mischievous smile on her face as she pushed herself against him.

“Hello to you too, love. That was quite a greeting.” Hunter commented with a smile of his own.

“What can I say? I missed you. Chasing an Inhuman can really get you hot.” She giggled.

“You missed me or you missed Lance Jr?” He joked nodding towards his crotch.

Kara winced in disgust at the joke, pulling away from him. “Okay, now you ruined the mood.” She calmed pretending to walk away but was quickly pulled back by hunter.

“Come here.” He said, bringing her back into a kiss. “How long do we have?” He said in between kisses.

“10 minutes, give or take.” She told him. “Coulson wants us all in his office, so better get started, buster.” She joked.

“I only need 7.” Hunter claimed, flipping them over, so Kara is against the drawer, with Hunter leaned against her, the Englishmen then starts to get on his knees, pulling down her pants and starts to.... Scratch an itch.

Bobbi sat at her desk in the research lab, going over some reports on Joey’s abilities, but the thing is she couldn’t focus, because at the back of her head, she could hear them.

Kara’s delicious moans...

Hunter’s deep grunts as he fucked her...

Bobbi groaned, running her fingers through her hair as she tried to block them out. All sorts of emotions were running through her body. Anger, shame, irritation, annoyance, but most importantly, she felt lust.

Lust for Kara, lust for Lance, she still wanted both. She quietly laughed at the irony of the situation and amazingly shitty luck. Both of her exes were now screwing each other and here she was, wishing she was in-between them.

“Looks like someone is burning the midnight oil.” A familiar voice rang out.

Bobbi turned to see Grant standing at the doorway with a small smile on his face. He must’ve just got here, judging by the duffel bag in his hands.

Bobbi grinned from ear to ear, jumping from her chair and rushing into his arms. Grant chuckled at the action, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. Bobbi knew Grant wasn’t much of a hugger, but it was different with her. It was like embracing their own blood, embracing family. It was like she was hugging her big brother.

“I missed you.” Bobbi said into his chest.

“I missed you too.” He replied.

“Is this you back for good this time?” She asked.

Grant shrugged. “For now at least, but Kebo is still out there.”

Bobbi pulled herself away from him, looking him in the eye with determination blazing bright. “We’ll find him, together.” She stated, no room for protest in her voice.

Grant smiled. “Of course, we will.” Grant then pulled her back in for a hug, which she of course accepted.

“So.... Hunter and Kara? When did that happen?” He wondered. Bobbi hit her head against his shoulder and groaned. Of course, Grant could hear them as well.

“Shut up.” Bobbi’s muffled voice came out, her head still buried in Grant’s hug.

Grant awkwardly patted her on the shoulder. “C’mon, let’s go get a beer and catch up.” He offered. Bobbi sighed, yeah, she could definitely use a drink.

As both of them walked out of the lab, the sounds of the alarm from the computer got their attention. Bobbi rushed over to see Fitz breaking into the monolith!

“Oh fuck!” Bobbi exclaimed, rushing out the door with Grant following after her.

“Bobbi, what’s wrong?” Grant called after her.

“It’s Fitz! He broke into the monolith that took Simmons!” She called dover her shoulder. Grant then started rushing at her speed, praying they weren’t too late.

‘Please! Don’t let us be too late!” Bobbi thought as she ran down the hall, hoping to save their friend. They got to the lounge and looked to see Mack and Daisy sitting at the table.

“Fitz broke into containment!” She exclaimed and immediately they all took, not even registering the fact Grant was back. Soon enough, they all got to containment, to see Fitz hitting the monolith.

“Do Something!”
