Power Rangers Reimagined
Prologue:
10,000 years ago
On the planet Eltar, a war between good and evil raged on between the evil sorceress, Rita Repulsa and the wizard, Zordon. Zordon fought valiantly and imprisoned Rita and her henchmen in a space dumpster and sent it into space; but not before Rita trapped him in a time warp. Alpha, Zordon’s robot assistant, was able to preserve him in an energy tube and went to Earth, settling in a desert on a western continent. There, Alpha built a command center where he and Zordon would remain until the planet Earth needed them. From Eltar, Zordon and Alpha had brought with them five of the six Power Coins that would one day stop Rita once and for all. Unfortunately, Zordon knew that Rita had the sixth Power Coin; he could only hope that one day it would be reclaimed for the side of good.

Angel Grove, California 9,989 years later:
At Angel Grove Elementary School, on the first day of school, a kindergarten class was in session. In this class were two pairs of best friends, one of them was a cute brown haired girl wearing a pink dress and her friend, an Asian girl in a yellow dress. The other pair of friends was a boy with dark brown hair and nice features in a red t-shirt and his friend, an African-American boy wearing a black and white striped t-shirt.
“Alright class let’s get into groups for our first class activity. I want two boys and two girls at each table, please.” The kindergarten teacher told her class.
The class got up from their spots on the rug and ran over to the tables.
“Come on Trini, let’s get that table.” The little girl in the pink dress said to her friend.
“Okay Kimberly, let’s go.” Her friend in the yellow dress said.
Both girls ran over to the first table. They were soon joined by the boy in the red t-shirt and the boy in the black and white striped t-shirt. Neither of the girls were shy, even on their first day of school.
“Hi, I’m Kimberly, and this is my best friend, Trini.” Kimberly said to the two boys with a big smile on her face.
“Hi Kimberly and Trini! I’m Zack!” Said the boy in the black and white striped t-shirt. “And this is my best friend, Jason!” He said pointing to his friend in the red t-shirt.
“We’ve been best friends since preschool.” Zack told the two girls
“(Gasp) So have Kim and me!” Trini exclaimed.
“That’s great.” Jason said.
The four of them laughed together until the teacher called the class to attention. “Alright class, let’s get started on our first classroom activity.”
The teacher went around and handed out a blank sheet of paper to everyone and told them all to draw the things that made them happy and then share them with everyone at their table. After a half-hour, the teacher told them to stop and to share what they had drawn with their tablemates.
“I’ll go first.” Kimberly offered. She held up her paper for the three of them to see and explained her picture to them. “The things that make me happy are my mommy and daddy, doing gymnastics, and playing with my friend Trini.” Kimberly said, she finished with a smile at Trini.
“Aw thanks, Kim.” Trini said, and the two girls gave each other a hug.
Then Trini held up her paper for the three of them to see. “Like Kimberly, the things that make me happy are my mommy and daddy, and playing with Kimberly. I also do gymnastics with Kimberly, but I really like doing self-defense classes.” Trini explained to them.
“Cool! Jason and I do self-defense classes too!” Zack exclaimed. They all laughed at Zack’s excitement until their teacher asked them to quiet down.
Zack then held up his paper and explained to them his favorite things. “The things that make me happy are, like you girls put it, my mommy and daddy, playing with my best friend Jason, and doing self-defense classes with him. But what really makes me happy is music, and my dance classes.” Zack told them.
“That’s really great Zack! What about you, Jason?” Kimberly asked, turning to Jason.
Jason smiled shyly and held up his paper and explained to them. “What makes me happy are my mommy and daddy, my self-defense classes and playing with Zack.” Jason explained softly.
Zack chuckled a little. “Yeah, Jason doesn’t say much. But once you get to know him and he gets to know you, he’s a fun guy.”
Jason smiled a little but then covered his face with his hands. The girls didn’t mind, and Kimberly had a feeling this was the start of a friendship that would last a long time.
When recess came, Kimberly asked Zack and Jason if they’d like to play with her and Trini, they both agreed. The four of them had fun running around and going down the slide. After a few minutes of that they started playing a game of catch me if you can when they noticed a small boy dressed in blue overalls and with glasses being picked on by two slightly bigger boys.
“Hey four-eyes! Give us your snack!” The fat bully said as he pushed the small boy in blue down.
“Yeah, four-eyes!” Repeated the skinny bully.
The boy in blue started to cry a little and the two bullies mocked his tears.
Zack looked at Jason with a worried look on his face. Kimberly and Trini looked at Jason too, and saw his expression had changed. He no longer looked happy and shy at the same time, now he looked mad, his eyebrows had narrowed and his mouth became a thin line.
“Jason.” Zack cautioned. He knew his friend well and knew Jason hated seeing anyone getting picked on.
Jason didn’t say anything as he marched right over to the two boys and pushed them away from the boy in blue. “Hey, you two, leave him alone!” Jason told them in a tone louder than he had been using.
“Who are you?” the fat bully asked him.
“Yeah, who are you?” the skinny bully repeated.
Jason glanced at the skinny boy and asked him, “Are you a parrot?”
“Hey, no one insults my friend, kid!” The fat bully said
Zack and the girls all ran up to Jason and the boy in blue. “Hey, go away and leave him alone, or you’ll have to deal with all of us.” Zack told the two bullies.
Seeing that they were outnumbered, the two bullies backed off and ran away.
After they had left, the four of them turned to the boy in blue; Trini held out her hand to him and helped him up. “Are you okay?” Trini asked him.
“Yeah, I think I just got a few scrapes, but my skin didn’t break, it’s just a few minor scratches. Nothing too bad.” The boy in blue answered Trini.
Jason, Zack, and Kimberly looked at one another in confusion. “What did he say?” Zack asked.
“He said he’s not bleeding.” Trini explained to them.
“Well that’s good. I’m Jason, this is my best friend Zack and this is Kimberly, and she’s Trini, Kimberly’s best friend.” Jason introduced them to the boy in blue.
“I’m Billy.” The boy introduced himself.
“I’d introduce you all to my best friend, but I don’t have one.” Billy said as he looked down sadly.
“That’s okay, we’ll all be your friends.” Trini told him
Billy looked up, surprised. “Really?!” He asked happily with a smile spreading across his face.
“Sure, you can never have too many friends.” Zack said as he stuck out his hand to Billy, and they shook hands.
The bell rang and the five of them all went back to class. On the rug in front of the teacher the five of them all sat next to each other, Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, and Trini.

Out in the desert mountains where Alpha 5 and Zordon lived, they noticed that the five power coins began to glow. The tyrannosaurus coin glowed red, the mastodon coin glowed purplish black, the pterodactyl coin glowed pink, the triceratops coin glowed blue, and the saber-toothed tiger coin glowed yellow.
“Oh! Aye-yai-yai! What does this mean, Zordon?” Alpha 5 asked, looking at Zordon’s head floating in the energy tube screen in front of him.
“This means that the coins have chosen five humans who share a strong bond with each other to be the ones who will use the powers of the coins one day.” Zordon answered Alpha.
“Really? Who do you think they are, Zordon?” Alpha asked.
“Observe the viewing globe.” Zordon instructed his robotic assistant.
Alpha looked at the viewing globe as the images of five children (three boys, one in red, one in black, and one in blue, and two girls, one in pink, and one in yellow) began to appear on its screen. The five friends were now at lunch, sitting at a table together laughing and having a fun time.
“Huh? But they’re just children, Zordon. The Power Coins can’t expect them to fight evil; they’re too young to even activate them.” Alpha questioned Zordon.
“True Alpha, but I have a feeling once they’ve grown up a little, and their friendship grows as well, Rita will return, and it will be up to these five to stop her and any other evil that may threaten the earth.” Zordon told Alpha.
“What will we do until then, Zordon?” Alpha asked.
“We’ll keep an eye on these five friends, and when the day comes, we’ll bring them here and explain everything to them.” Zordon told Alpha.

For the next several years, Alpha and Zordon kept watch over Jason and his friends. As the years went by the five of them grew remarkably close and viewed each other like brothers and sisters.
While Jason and his friends went through their first year of elementary school, they got to know one another really well. They realized early on that though they were different in ways, each of them had a quality that they all liked about each other.
Jason, while he was a soft spoken boy and a little shy, he was very brave. Jason always stood up for them when they got bullied, especially by the two boys from the first day of kindergarten, who they learned were called Bulk and Skull.
Bulk and Skull gave Jason, Zack, and Billy a hard time for being friends with the two girls. “Ew! Girls have cooties! You’re all getting their cooties.” They would say early on. Bulk and Skull still tried to pick on Billy, but whenever they started to Jason would show up and get them to go away.
Skull later developed a crush on Kimberly that she didn’t return. “Kimberly, why don’t you hang out with me for once instead of those three geeky boys?” Skull would ask. “Ew! Go away Skull, you’re mean and I don’t like you.” Kimberly would respond.
Whenever Skull would give Kimberly a hard time she would usually go to Jason, who she began to feel a strong connection to, and ask him to make Skull leave her alone. Jason would end up scaring Skull away for a while; it bothered him that Skull tried to get friendly with Kimberly as he too felt a strong connection with her. While they were little, Jason and Kimberly felt a bond between them growing that they, at the time, weren’t sure what it was.
While Jason was brave, and would later get strong from his self-defense classes that transitioned into martial arts classes, he would do some pretty out there things. Once when they were in first grade and they now played on the older kids’ playground at recess; instead of going across the monkey bars the normal way, Jason climbed up on top of them and walked across them. The four others freaked out and told him to get down or he’d fall and hurt himself; Jason just laughed as he got down on the other side and told them it was fun.
Zack was always the wise cracker. Both he and Jason were happy fun loving boys who loved to smile, but while Jason was the soft spoken one Zack was a bit of a show-off. None of his friends minded, whenever Zack showed-off to his friends with his dance skills it was always to make them smile and laugh.
As they got older, while Zack still did some martial arts classes and practiced with Jason, he began to dedicate most of his time to dancing. Zack even did something that they all thought was really cool, he learned to incorporate his dancing and martial arts skills together.
“Hey check this out you guys!” Zack said to his friends one day at recess. Zack started out dancing, and then he did a few martial arts moves as he was dancing.
“Wow Zack! That was so cool!” Jason said to Zack after he finished.
Zack later dubbed his blend of dancing and martial arts as Hip-Hop Kido.
Kimberly was considered one of the prettiest girls in their class, but she never tried to be one of the popular girls. She was happiest with her four true friends she knew would never turn on her. Kimberly kept doing gymnastics, and as she got older she started trying out other things as well; she learned to sing and play the guitar.
When they were all in the fifth grade, Kimberly decided to try out for the class play and convinced the others to join her as well. The class did a play of Cinderella, Kimberly got the role of Cinderella, Jason, much to his surprise, got the role of Prince Charming. Trini got the role of the fairy godmother, Billy decided to help backstage, and Zack did the choreography. The play went really well and was one of their fondest memories, and Kimberly kept a picture of them all from one performance tapped to her vanity.
Kimberly’s friends really helped her out when her parents split up. She was devastated, but was so thankful for her friends, who were there for her, either to offer her encouragement, or if anything else just to sit with and listen to her as she cried. Kimberly realized in that time, despite what she was going through, how special her friends were to her. She knew she could always count on them to be there for her when she needed them, and promised herself that if they needed her, she would be there for them too.
Billy was considered the brains of their group of friends, and he was always willing to help out his friends with their schoolwork. Billy didn’t even care how often he had to go over things again and again, he was simply happy that he had such good friends.
Trini understood him the best, and the two of them grew remarkably close; whenever Billy was feeling down Trini would always hold her hand out to help him back up. Billy early on got into inventing things, and his friends always supported him in his attempts to create something.
Billy and Trini also felt a bond between them like Jason and Kimberly did with each other, but just like them, they too didn’t understand what it was at the time.
Trini was the one who could always help the other three understand Billy, usually by simplifying what he had said for them to understand. While she and Kimberly remained close, Trini decided around the third grade to leave gymnastics and go completely into martial arts, Kung-Fu especially. Kimberly didn’t mind, though she missed Trini in gymnastics class, she knew Trini was happier doing martial arts. Trini was also a soft spoken girl, and very loyal, she and Kimberly later got into environmental activities such as cleaning up the parks and recycling.
All in all, the five of them could always rely on each other. Whether it was for help, encouragement, stand by each other, and most importantly to have a great time with. Even their parents became friends, and were so glad that their children had made such amazing friends who they all hoped would last a lifetime.
“You guys are the best friends I could have ever asked for.” Jason said to them once when they were about to enter middle school. “Let’s make a promise to each other, right now, that no matter what happens in our lives, we’ll always be best friends.” Jason then put out his fist.
“Yes! Best friends forever!” Kimberly said as she put her hand on top of Jason’s. Both felt a jolt go through them at the touch, making them both smile to themselves.
“Definitely, we’re more than friends, we’re family.” Zack said as he put his hand on top of Kimberly’s
“Always and forever!” Trini said as she put her hand on top of Zacks.
“Affirmative! Being friends with you guys is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.” Billy said as he put his hand on top of Trini’s. Like Jason and Kimberly, Billy and Trini felt a jolt go through them at the touch, they too smiled at themselves.
The five of them all jumped up as they threw their hands in the air and said in unison, “BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!!!!”
Season 1 Episode 1: Day of the Dumpster
Eleven years had passed since Jason and his friends met on their first day of Kindergarten when their adventures really began.
A country had decided to send two astronauts into space to go to the moon; an attempt that hadn’t been attempted in a few decades. The two astronauts made it to the moon and were exploring around an area that hadn’t been explored before.
After a while, one of them noticed something several feet away from them. “Hey look at that!” He said to his partner. “Do you see that?”
“Let’s go.” The other astronaut said to his partner.
The two ran up to what they saw. “What do you think it is?” One of them asked the other.
“It looks like some kind of dumpster.” The other answered.
“Let’s open it up.” The first one said as he put his hand on the red jewel on the lid. It glowed at the touch of his gloved hand.
The two astronauts slid the lid off as energy sparked underneath it, and the two of them fell over as a giant light shot out of it. When it faded, the two astronauts saw four monsters standing in front of them. One was a giant winged simian cladded in gold like armor, one was a black monkey bat-like monster, one looked like a giant white terrier dog, another one was a blue hobgoblin. The two astronauts backed away in fear at the sight of them.
“Alright we’re out!” the blue hobgoblin crowed as it approached the dumpster and looked in. “Oh Rita, wake up, we’re free!”
The astronauts then saw an Asian looking woman, with gray hair in giant pointed ponytails sticking out, pop out of the dumpster. The monkey bat-like monster approached her and helped her out.
After she was out she held up a scepter and blew up the dumpster, the two astronauts finally got to their feet and ran away. “Oh, don’t leave.” Rita said as they ran away. “You’ll miss my coming out party! That’s when I destroy the nearest planet!” Rita laughed wickedly as she looked to Earth, her new target.

Back in Angel Grove, California, Jason and the gang were spending their weekend at the local Youth Center; a Gym and Juice Bar managed by a nice man named Ernie. Jason and his friends had just finished their first week of their Sophomore Year at Angel Grove High School, and were enjoying their down time that weekend.
Jason and Zack were sparring, with Jason teaching Zack recoveries. Zack tried to kick him, but Jason caught his leg and flipped him over. Zack flipped backwards but managed to land back on his feet.
“Nice recovery, Zack” Jason complimented him.
“Thanks for teaching me Jason.” Zack thanked him.
“No problem.” Jason said to him.
Trini was working on some of her martial arts skills. She, Jason, and Zack had decided to not just learn one form of martial arts but to learn as many as they could.
Kimberly was working on her gymnastics, practicing her front and back handsprings on the balance beam. Kimberly did a front handspring, then did a front flip off the beam and stuck it.
Trini came up to her clapping. “Good job, Kimberly.” She complimented.
“Thanks Trini.” Kimberly thanked her.
At that moment, Billy walked in wearing a martial arts uniform and went up to Jason and Zack. “Hi guys!” Billy greeted his friends.
“Hi Billy, how are you man?” Zack greeted him.
“Well, I think I’m both mentally and physically prepared for my first martial arts class.” Billy told his friends.
Bulk and Skull then walked in and tried to flirt with Kimberly and Trini. “Hey girls, what do you think of that double date we asked you about?” Bulk asked them.
“Yeah!” Skull said and then laughed obnoxiously. “What about it?” He asked.
“We told you guys, no.” Kimberly reminded them.
Skull started to walk away disappointed, but Bulk pulled him back. “What’s wrong with us? Are we not good enough for you girls?” Bulk demanded of them.
“Leave us alone, Bulk.” Trini said.
“Make me.” Bulk challenged.
“Yeah! Make me!” Skull repeated.
Zack walked up behind Kimberly and Trini and put a hand protectively on one of each of the girls shoulders. Skull backed off at the sight of Zack joining in “Him, make him.” Skull said nervously pointing at Bulk.
“Hey, you heard them guys, back off.” Zack said to Bulk and Skull.
Bulk then mocked Zack. “Well look at that Skull; the dancer wants to be a fighter.”
“It’s okay Zack; Trini and I can handle them.” Kimberly assured Zack.
“Oh really?” Bulk challenged. “Come on Skull, let’s get them!”
Bulk and Skull charged at Kimberly and Trini; their hands up like they were going to grab them. But Kimberly and Trini were ready for them; each girl caught one, Trini caught Bulk, Kimberly caught Skull, by their hands and flipped them over onto their backs. Bulk and Skull looked up dazed from the mats they had been flipped onto as everyone laughed.
“You guys should definitely join Jason’s martial arts class.” Kimberly commented as Trini and Zack looked on giggling.

On the moon, the sorceress Rita Repulsa had constructed a castle for her and her henchmen. Inside of it, Rita was gazing down at Earth through her telescope and set her sights on Angel Grove, California. “That’s where Zordon is, so that’s where we’ll attack first. I’ll finally finish off that wizard, and then no one will be able to stop me!” Rita said in her shrill voice.
She looked behind her and called out. “Finster! Where are those putties you said you’d make!?” She yelled.
“I’m making them right now, my queen.” Finster, the giant white terrier dog-like monster answered her.
The giant golden cladded simian, known as Goldar, said to Rita. “I’ll lead the putties down to Earth and make it yours, empress.”
Rita cackled wickedly.

Back in Angel Grove, Jason was teaching his martial arts class at the Gym and Juice Bar to several of his classmates. Jason went over some basic moves, blocks, and punches. Most of them were getting it, but Billy was having a hard time following along.
Jason noticed Billy’s struggles and walked up to him and tried to help him out. Jason went over the moves again slowly, Billy followed along but there were still parts that were a little difficult for him.
“I’m just no good at this, Jase.” Billy said, feeling discouraged.
Jason tried to reassure him. “Hey Billy, don’t worry. Remember, even I was a beginner once.”
Jason walked back to the front of the class to quiz them. “Alright class, what is it that martial arts teaches us?” Jason asked his class. He saw Billy raise his hand and had him answer.
“Courage, kindness, integrity, fitness, loyalty, discipline, and self-defense.” Billy answered.
“Excellent Billy, you memorized that really quickly.” Jason complimented him.
Suddenly Bulk and Skull walked up to him wearing martial arts uniforms. “Hey! Geek!” Bulk said as he came up to Jason. “Teach Skull and me how to beat people up!”
“Yeah!” Skull said and then did a bad impression of a Ki-aye as Jason shook his head a little and tried not to laugh. Bulk grabbed Skull by the back of his collar and threw him towards Billy, who backed up a little.
“Martial arts was not developed, to senselessly hurt others.” Jason responded calmly. Jason rarely ever raised his voice, even when he was annoyed or angry, even at Bulk and Skull.
“We did not sign up for a geeky karate class.” Bulk responded to Jason.
Jason smiled a little, he knew exactly how to handle Bulk. “Alright Bulk, maybe you’re ready for some more, advanced moves.” Jason said.
Bulk looked smug as Jason demonstrated one. Jason turned to his side and kicked his leg so fast, it barely looked like it had even moved. “The side kick.” Jason said.
Bulk scoffed. “Anything you can do; I can do better.” Bulk then tried to do a side kick. His wasn’t nearly as high, or as fast as Jason’s had been.
Skull clapped at Bulk’s attempt while Billy and the rest of the class just silently watched.
Jason wasn’t done yet. “Tornado kick.” Jason then did a jump spinning kick while Bulk watched with a less smug look on his face.
Bulk then attempted to do it, but ended up falling over and landed on his face. Everyone in the class laughed, Skull looked at his friend in surprise but still clapped for him.
“Class dismissed.” Jason said to his class; his students bowed to him before walking off.

Later Jason and the gang, now in regular clothes, were sitting at a table having smoothies. They were all trying to convince Billy to keep doing the martial arts classes with Jason.
“Billy, I’m telling you. For your first class, you did really well.” Jason said, trying to encourage his friend.
Billy shrugged. “I don’t know, I just don’t think I’m good at it.”
Trini attempted to make Billy feel better. “Come on Billy, martial arts is all a state of mind. You don’t need to be strong for it.”
Ernie came over to them with some more smoothies when the building started to shake violently. “EARTHQUAKE! Everyone get down!” Ernie instructed as everyone started to panic.

Out in the desert mountain area of Angel Grove, in the Command Center, Alpha 5 was panicking as the earth shook. “Danger! Danger! It’s the big one! Oh, Aye-yai-yai!” Alpha cried as he held his robot headed teddy-bear. He and Zordon had experienced many earthquakes before, being in California. But only a few had been as big as the one happening now.
“Calm down Alpha. It’s Rita, she’s finally escaped after all these years.” Zordon informed his robotic assistant.
“Are you sure?” Alpha asked, his tone had a hint of hope that Zordon was wrong.
“Yes Alpha, my sensor ray picked up her evil vibrations.” Zordon replied.
“Oh, Aye-yai-yai! What are we going to do now, Zordon?” Alpha asked.
“It’s time Alpha. Teleport Jason and his friends here.” Zordon instructed him.
“But Zordon, they’re still just kids! Teenagers at that! And teenagers all have an attitude, being overbearing and overemotional!” Alpha protested.
“That’s correct, Alpha, but we have no choice. It’s time for them to begin their destiny.” Zordon said.
“Oh, I hope you know what we’re about to do.” Alpha said as he began activating the teleportation to bring Jason and the gang to the Command Center.

Back at the Youth Center, people were still scrambling around in a panic. Jason and the gang tried to get out, but were the last ones in the gym.
Suddenly they all started to feel a strange static feeling all over their bodies.
“Oh my gosh! What’s happening?” Kimberly asked as the five of them stood in the center of the gym.
“This is way too weird.” Trini stated.
“Everyone, hold on!” Jason told his friends
Suddenly, all five of them were turned into different colored static streaks. Jason turned into a red streak, Zack turned into a black streak, Kimberly turned into a pink streak, Billy turned into a blue streak, and Trini turned into a yellow streak. The five of them then disappeared out of the Youth Center and felt themselves flying away. The five of them, as different colored streaks, flew through the desert mountains at the speed of sound, until they reached the Command Center.
In the Command Center, the five of them teleported in and landed in a pile around each other. They all got up and looked around at their surroundings.
“I don’t think we’re in the Youth Center anymore, you guys.” Kimberly commented.
Billy looked around at all the computer equipment in awe. “This place is amazing!” He exclaimed with his arms spread.
“I don’t get it; how did we get here?” Jason asked in confusion.
“I just want to know where we are.” Trini said.
Billy went up to one of the circuitry boards and began fiddling around with them. “Maybe we can find out through these controls.”
Alpha suddenly ran out and up to the five teens. “No! Don’t touch that! Whoa!” Alpha cried as he tripped and fell over.
Billy walked over to Alpha and helped him up, and looked at him in amazement. “Whoa. A fully sentient, multifunctional automaton. How prodigious.” Billy commented in amazement as Alpha took them all in.
Zordon’s image suddenly appeared in his energy tube. “Welcome Jason and friends.” He greeted them.
Jason and the gang turned around and saw Zordon.
“Who are you?” Jason asked, crossing his arms.
“What, are you?” Kimberly asked.
“And how do you know who we are?” Jason added.
“I am Zordon; an interdimensional being caught in a time warp.” Zordon answered them.
“And my name is Alpha 5.” Alpha told them.
“Okay, but that still doesn’t explain how you know who we are; or why you brought us here.” Trini pointed out.
“The two of us have been watching over you five friends ever since you all met eleven years ago. You five were chosen for your strong bond of friendship to begin an adventure that I started, but sadly couldn’t finish.” Zordon explained.
“Excuse me, but can somebody head back to Earth and pick me up? Because I’m very confused.” Kimberly said both sarcastically and confusingly.
“It’s quite simple, Kimberly. This planet is under attack from my old enemy, and you five were chosen to save it.” Zordon clarified.
“Oh, yeah right.” Zack said sarcastically.
“Ah, you don’t believe me?” Zordon questioned. “Look behind you at the viewing globe. All your questions and doubts will be answered by what you’re about to see.”
The five of them turned around and looked at the big crystal ball-like screen. On the screen the image of an Asian looking woman with gray hair in giant pointed ponytails sticking out appeared on the screen, riding an old fashioned bicycle. Flying behind her was a giant winged simian creature in golden armor.
“This is Rita Repulsa; an evil space sorceress who plans on ruling the universe.” Zordon explained to the five teens. “With her henchmen and putty patrollers, she plans to conquer earth.”
“And you said that we were chosen to stop her when we were five?” Jason asked in confusion. “How could we have been chosen at five years old to stop this Rita?”
“When the five of you all became friends, you formed an immensely powerful bond, and it has grown over the years. That bond was felt by a source of Power we have been guarding for the last ten thousand years; and it chose you five to form an elite team. You will each be given access to its extraordinary Power; drawn for the ancient creatures you call, Dinosaurs.” Zordon explained to them.
“Dinosaurs?” They all asked.
Suddenly a black belt appeared on all five of them, on each of them were the Power Coins that had chosen to have them be its bearer.
“Behold, the Power Coins! The keys to your power.” Zordon said.
“Whoa, what are these?” Zack asked.
“Those are your Power Morphers, the coin in the center is your Power Coin. When you’re in danger, raise them to the sky and call out the name of your Dinosaur. And you will morph into a fighting force, known to one and all, as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!” Zordon explained as the five friends looked at their Power Morphers.
“Morph?” Kimberly asked.
“Metamorphosis.” Billy explained.
Kimberly looked at him, still confused.
“That means to change.” Trini clarified.
“As Power Rangers, you will have access to a universe of power.” Zordon continued to explain. “You will be able to command a fleet of fighting machines called Zords.”
“I still don’t get it.” Trini said.
Zordon looked at each of them and told them which Dino Zord they would command. Looking at Jason, Zordon spoke to him first. “Jason, you are bold and powerful. You shall lead this team as the Red Ranger, and control the Tyrannosaurus Dino Zord.”
Zordon then looked at Zack. “Zachary, you are clever and brave. You shall be the Black Ranger, and command the Mastodon Dino Zord.
Zordon then looked at Kimberly. “Kimberly, you are graceful and smart. You shall be the Pink Ranger, and the Pterodactyl Dino Zord shall be yours.”
Zordon then looked at Billy. “Billy, you are patient and wise. You shall be the Blue Ranger, and command the powerful Triceratops Dino Zord.”
Finally, Zordon looked at Trini. “Trini, you are fearless and agile. You shall be the Yellow Ranger, and the Saber-Toothed Tiger Dino Zord will be under your command.”
After Zordon finished, he instructed the five friends to look back at the viewing globe. They looked back at the viewing globe and saw the Dino Zords Zordon had told them about combined together into a bigger machine.
“That looks like a Transformers Robot.” Zack stated.
Zordon continued to explain. “Just as the five of you work together, so do your Zords. When you need help, call out to them and they will come to you. They will then be able to come together and form the Mighty Megazord.”
The five friends watched as the Zords formed together to create a gigantic robot, that really did look like a Transformers Robot like Zack had said.
The five of them looked at each other, then Zack shook his head. “Power Morphers? Power Coins? Megazords?” Zack listed off everything he’d gathered. He then looked back at Zordon and shook his head again. “No way, this is just too weird for me, for all of us. Look, thanks for the offer, but we’ve gotta go.”
“Yeah, see ya.” Kimberly said as she started to follow Zack out.
“You guys coming?” Zack asked his friends.
Billy and Trini began to follow, but Jason hesitated, still looking at Zordon.
“Jason!” Zack called to him.
“What?” Jason asked, he hadn’t realized his friends had walked away.
Kimberly walked back up to him and tugged on his arm. “Come on Jason, let’s go.” She said as she began to lead him out.
“Very well then, let The Power protect you.” Zordon said as they walked out.
“Well that didn’t go very well did it?” Alpha said sadly.
“Don’t worry, Alpha, I’m sure they’ll come around soon.” Zordon assured him.
Jason and the gang managed to find the exit and walked out into the desert mountains. “Great, he could have sent us back into town.” Kimberly said as they looked at their surroundings.
They all started heading down the mountain hoping to find their way back home.

On the moon, in her palace, Rita saw the five friends walking out of the Command Center and laughed to herself. “Zordon I’m surprised, teenagers?!” Rita asked herself. “You think a bunch of teenagers can stop me? Well, we’ll see about that.”
Rita walked into Finster’s laboratory and barked orders at him. “Finster! I want those putties ready now!” Rita looked back towards earth. “I’ll teach Zordon and his teenagers not to mess with me.”
Finster finished making putties out of clay and put them in his machine to turn them into real monsters. The machine churned and made noise as a swarm of putties came out of the finishing tube.
“Perfect!” Rita said as the putties were finished being made. She looked back to earth again. “So, you kids think you can stop me? Well just you wait, you don’t know who you’re messing with. Now my putties, prepare to attack!”

Back in the desert mountains, Jason and the gang were making their way back to Angel Grove. Jason was trying to convince his friends to accept what Zordon had offered them.
“We shouldn’t have left, you guys. You heard what he said, we were chosen to save the world, I say we do it.” Jason said.
“Jason, I don’t know if we can. We’re not super-humans after all.” Trini said.
“Yeah Jason. Do you even know what you’re talking about? I mean, we were talking to a giant, floating, head.” Zack pointed out.
“But guys think about it.” Jason said, the four of them turned around to face him. “I mean, what if it wasn’t a coincidence that we all became friends? What if this means that we were destined to become friends? He said we were chosen when we all met. So, what if this is our destiny? We’re walking away from fate.” Jason explained.
Kimberly walked up to him. “Jason, I do believe we were all meant to be friends. But this? This just seems too much to ask from us. As Trini said, we’re not super-humans. I know we used to play superheroes as kids, but this isn’t like that, this is real. It’ll be dangerous; I don’t think we’re all up for it.” Kimberly stated to him.
“But what if we can Kim? I think this is our destiny.” Jason said.
Before anyone could answer him, a beam of energy came from the sky and blasted the rocky hill next to the five friends. The five of them ducked as rock and ruble began to rain down on them.
“Everyone down!” Jason called out.
“What was that?” Trini asked as Billy helped her up.
Suddenly a swarm of gray people-like creatures jumped and acrobatic-flipped over the rocks and surrounded the five of them. The five friends looked around and saw that they were trapped, and huddled together.
“Look out!” Zack cried as the gray putties started to attack.
One near Kimberly flipped over next to her, and she let out a scream of terror. The putty and another one grabbed Kimberly by her arms as the rest of them went after the other four. “Let go of me!” Kimberly ordered the two putties that had her, as she struggled to get out of their grip.
“Zack!” Jason called out to his friend.
“Right! These two are mine!” Zack said. Zack went over to two putties and started to do his Hip-Hop Kido. He did a few dance moves as the putties looked at him in confusion. He then approached them and started fighting.
Jason, Billy, and Trini were then attacked by more. Jason started fighting some, all his years of martial arts training were definitely paying off.
Trini also fought using her martial arts skills, Billy wasn’t having as much luck, he took off his glasses and put them in his pocket so they wouldn’t break and attempted to fight.
Suddenly a putty grabbed Billy from behind; Kimberly managed to do a backflip despite being held by her arms to try to get the putties to let her go. She then kicked the putty in front of her, and then kicked the two putties that had her to get them to let go of her.
The five of them continued to fight off the putties, but they were soon overwhelmed. Two putties that Billy was fighting got a hold of him and made him fall over in a corner. The two putties that had Kimberly still had her; they then threw her into Billy in the corner.
Zack was fighting two putties, one had him and was holding him up. He kicked the one in front of him before the one who had him threw him over to where Kimberly and Billy were.
Trini was still fighting a putty, while she’d had better luck, it too eventually got the best of her. The putty grabbed her and tossed her over to Zack, Kimberly, and Billy.
Jason was fighting three at once, two of them had grabbed his arms. Jason attempted to kick the third one, but it grabbed his leg. Jason managed to flip himself over and got it to let go of his leg, but the other two sent him spinning towards his friends, and he landed next to them all in the corner.
The five of them sat there for a second, made sure they were all okay, and then looked back at the putties that were closing in on them. They saw that they were trapped, and didn’t know what to do.
“This day is too weird.” Kimberly stated.
“What do we do now?” Trini asked.
Jason suddenly remembered the morphers Zordon had given them. He pulled his out from the belt it was attached to and told his friends his idea. “Zordon said these Power Morphers would give us power. Let’s do it.” Jason said.
They all got up and held out their Power Morphers.
“Mastodon.” Zack said.
“Pterodactyl.” Kimberly said.
“Triceratops.” Billy said.
“Saber-Toothed Tiger.” Trini said.
“Tyrannosaurus.” Jason said.
The five of them felt the Power suddenly coursing through their bodies. It felt amazing, they all felt faster and stronger.
The five of them saw that they were all suddenly wearing full body spandex costumes. Zack’s was black and white, Kimberly’s was pink and white, Billy’s was blue and white, Trini’s was yellow and white, and Jason’s was red and white.
They were also wearing helmets to match. Zack’s helmet was black and looked like the face of a mastodon and had horns decorated on the side of his helmet’s lens. Kimberly’s helmet was white with a pink pterodactyl decorating the area where her lenses were. Billy’s helmet was blue and looked like the face of a triceratops, with the three horns decorated on it. Trini’s helmet was yellow and looked like the face of a saber-toothed tiger, with its mouth open and long teeth decorated on the side of her lens. Jason’s helmet was red and looked like the face of a T-Rex, with its opened mouth and teeth surrounding his lens.
“MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS!!!!” They all cried out in unison.
Back in the Command Center, Alpha and Zordon were watching the battle and saw them morph.
Alpha jumped up in joy as the five friends morphed. “Zordon, they did it! They’ve morphed into Power Rangers!!” Alpha cried in joy.
“Good. Now teleport them to Angel Grove, Rita has sent down Goldar.” Zordon told him.
“Right away, Zordon.” Alpha said. Alpha then pushed some buttons and teleported the five Rangers to Angel Grove.
“We’re teleporting again.” Billy stated as he and Zack were lifted into the air to be teleported.
“Where are we going?” Kimberly asked as she and Trini followed.
“We’re gonna save the world.” Jason answered as he followed after them.
The five of them were again different colored streaks, flying through the air at the speed of sound over the desert mountains. The five of them landed in downtown Angel Grove, and there was Goldar and a swarm of putties.
“Get Them!” Goldar ordered the putties.
Jason and the gang started to fight more putties; now that they were in their Power Ranger suits they had more energy and endurance to fight.

In her palace on the moon, Rita was getting agitated that her putties were getting beaten by a group of teenagers.
“Finster! Your stupid putties are useless! They’re getting beaten by a bunch of teenage kids!” Rita yelled at him in her shrill voice.
“Why don’t you just make Goldar big with your wand?” Squatt suggested.
“Why do I have to do everything myself?” Rita groaned as she walked back over to her window. “Now magic wand, make my Goldar grow!!!” She said as she threw her wand down to earth. Rita’s wand landed in the ground and caused it to open up as her magic caused Goldar to grow thirty stories tall.
The Rangers looked up at giant Goldar in surprise, but didn’t back down.
“Hey, back off, you ugly fang face!” Jason called out.
“The good guys are here!” Zack called out
“Get off our planet!” Billy ordered.
“Because we’re the Power Rangers!” Trini stated.
“And we’re not backing down!” Kimberly stated.
Goldar prepared to strike them down with his sword, but Jason was ready. “We need Dino Zord Power, Now!” Jason called out.
At Jason’s call, his T-Rex Dino Zord came out of the earth. Zack’s Mastodon Dino Zord came out of the ice. Billy’s Triceratops Dino Zord came rolling out of the desert. Trini’s Saber-Toothed Tiger Dino Zord came out of the jungle, followed by Kimberly’s Pterodactyl Dino Zord that came out of the volcano. The five Dino Zords then came to the Rangers in Angel Grove.
“Alright guys, let’s do this!” Jason said as he jumped up and entered his Dino Zord’s cockpit. Billy and Zack jumped up and entered their Zord’s cockpits, followed by Trini and Kimberly.
“Rangers, lock on!” Jason said as he settled into his Zord’s cockpit.
“Zack here, ready to kick it.” Zack said as he settled into his Zord’s cockpit.
“This is Billy, all systems go.” Billy said as he settled into his Zord’s cockpit.
“Trini here, ready to rock.” Trini said as she settled into her Zord’s cockpit.
“Hey, cool stereo.” Kimberly stated as she settled into her Zord’s cockpit.
“Megazord Power, on!” Jason said from his Zord.
The Rangers started to bring their Zords together to form the Megazord. “This is amazing! I seem to already know how to drive this thing!” Trini said excitedly from her Zord.
“Affirmative! It’s like it’s second nature to me!” Billy said, equally excited, from his Zord.
The Zords then combined into the Megazord’s tank mode. The Rangers were suddenly all in one cockpit in the Megazord.
“All right, let’s get him!” Jason said, as the Megazord Tank Mode charged at Goldar.
“Right!” The rest of them said in unison.
Goldar sent a blast at the Megazord, the Rangers felt the blast as sparks flew in the cockpit. “Uh!” They all grunted.
“You and your weapons are no match for me!” Goldar told them in a deep voice.
“Alright guys, let’s see what this Megazord can do!” Jason said as he and his friends sat up after being blasted.
The Megazord fired at Goldar, but he was still standing. “Yeah! Zap him again!” Jason said as the Rangers fired another blast at Goldar.
The Megazord then blasted Goldar with five different blasts in each of the Rangers colors. Goldar was finally knocked over, but he wasn’t done just yet.
“All right!” The Rangers said.
“Let’s send this guy back where he came from!” Jason said as the Megazord switched modes.
“Right!” The other Rangers agreed.
“Alright guys let’s power it up. Activating Megazord battle mode.” Jason said. The Rangers then changed the Megazord into its robot form that, as Zack had said before, looked like a Transformers robot.
The Rangers, in the Megazord, started to go at it with Goldar again. Goldar jumped up and slashed at the Megazord with his sword, causing the Rangers to get shaken up a little in the cockpit. Goldar slashed at them again, causing sparks to fly off the Megazord, but the Megazord kept fighting back. The Rangers kept fighting and managed to knock Goldar down, but the monster just got back up.
“Jason, that blow didn’t even phase him.” Billy pointed out.
Goldar got back up and was ready to go at them again.
“He’s coming back at us!” Jason said. “We need the Power Sword, now!” Jason called up. The Power Sword then fell out of the sky and landed next to the Megazord. The Megazord picked it up, as power surged through it.
Goldar decided to retreat at the sight of the Power Sword. “This isn’t over, I’ll be back!” Goldar said and then disappeared.
The Power Rangers looked on from inside the Megazord. “We did it!” The Power Rangers all cried happily.

Back at Rita’s palace on the moon, Rita was on the warpage. “I can’t believe it!!” She yelled in her shrill voice. “We were beaten by a bunch of little teenage kids!!!”
Baboo started yelling at Squatt while Goldar apologized to Rita for his failure. “I’m sorry Your Empress! It won’t happen again!”
“Shut up! I’ve got a headache!” Rita yelled as she stormed off.

Back in the Command Center, Jason and the gang, now unmorphed, were chattering excitedly about their first victory.
“Congratulations on a job well done.” Zordon said to them.
“Now that you’ve become Power Rangers, you must follow three basic rules, or lose the protection of the Power.” Zordon instructed them. “First, never use your power for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle, unless Rita forces you. And finally, keep your identity secret, no one may know you are Power Rangers.”
“Wait, hang on just one second.” Zack said, stepping forward.
“Yes, Zachary, what is it?” Zordon asked him.
“I don’t know for sure if we’re all up to this. I mean, we were pretty lucky this time.” Zack stated.
“Luck didn’t have anything to do with it. The five of you make as fine a group of superheroes as there has ever been.” Zordon said.
“No way, really?” Kimberly asked.
“The Power coins knew from the moment you all became friends, that you were the right ones to be given this extraordinary Power and destiny. You’ve all been through an extraordinary experience together, and your bond of friendship in itself is a powerful thing. You need each other, the world needs you now, and together, no one can stand against you.” Zordon said to them.
“Alright, I’m in.” Jason said without hesitation.
“Me too.” Zack said.
“Same here.” Trini said.
“Affirmative.” Billy confirmed.
Kimberly decided to joke around with them. “I don’t know you guys. I mean the outfits are cool and all; but my hair gets all tangled up inside the helmet. I don’t think I can do it.”
Her four friends snickered a little, they could always tell when Kimberly was messing around with them. Unfortunately, Alpha didn’t understand Kimberly was just joking as he said, “Oh Kimberly, no!”
Kimberly waited a beat before saying. “NOT!”
Her four friends busted up laughing, but Alpha started going haywire as smoke billowed out from him. “Circuit overload! Circuit overload!! Aye-yai-yai!” Alpha cried out.
Kimberly ran over to Alpha and tried to calm him. “Wait Alpha! Alpha, I was just kidding!” Kimberly said to him.
Alpha started to calm down and stop smoking after that. “Oh, humor, what a concept.” Alpha said.
The five of them laughed. “Let’s do it.” Jason said as he put his fist out. One by one the rest of his friends put their hands on top of his.
“POWER RANGERS!!!” They all cried happily as they jumped up and threw their hands in the air.
