Radiants
Humans that were given powers beyond most imaginations. Powers that Vincent could only dream of. For he was just a mere human being, one of the normal ones who did not react to these ‘radianites’.
Greed
Vincent wanted to know more. He had to get his hands on these radiants and the knowledge behind it. Knowledge that very few know to keep them mortals from learning of it.
Knowledge
Vincent stayed up late, skimming through paper after paper, searched every source he could on these radiants and radianite. He’d pick up his cup of now cold coffee, too immersed in his work, sipping on it as he kept himself awake. Dark circles covered his eyes, his skin pale from the lack of sun.
Satisfaction
He was not satisfied, not at all. The blueprints he had made on the radianites he took, the side effects, the use of these things.
Every human is flawed, or so as Vincent thinks, unlike himself, ‘perfect’ in every way. But alas, even the most perfect human beings are flawed too. And this— experiment that he is about to attempt on himself, could fail miserably.
But it was worth the risk, if it meant he could somewhat have a taste of what controlling radiant powers feels like. And with that, he took that risk, placing; burning radianite into his skin. It burned, the pain almost unbearable as he clawed at the foreign element in his skin.
His body struggled as it accepted and rejected the radianite, blood oozing out of the fresh marks. He took painkillers to help lessen the pain as he kept attempting more. From his hands to his arms until his entire body was lined in gold radianite, glinting beautifully over his beaten down body, blood oozing out of his skin, unbearable pain that made his head hurt, that made him see white.
He’d take pill after pill, burn out cigarettes faster than he’d drain his coffee. But he pulled through, his body eventually accepting the radianite. And he couldn’t stop the victorious smile after months of struggle, finally able to relax.
Gunsmith
As a gunsmith, Vincent had always been fascinated at these weapons of destruction. Always spent hours learning every part of each gun, every model better than the next. He’d gone out of his way to design his own, gold like the radianite in his skin.
He then found ways to use the radianite, to carry an arsenal and manipulate his body to be one with it. And that was where teleportation comes in.
Rendezvous
The idea of standing still was less than ideal for him. Vincent was once well known as a deadly sniper, codenamed Deadeye back in his time in the military. He’d move swiftly and silently, at least in more tactical outfits that he definitely do not own at current.
He’d have to make do with what he have. And money was no issue, giving him access to all sorts of resources.
This was no easy work, oh no, it took him years to even understand. But he made it work, finally making an anchor that allows him to teleport wherever he liked with the flick of his card.
Valorant Protocol
Vincent realised too late that the nightmares stemmed from the experiments he had done on himself. That many failed attempts that had led to sleepless nights, days full of agony.
The nightmares continued for days, stretching on for weeks and months. The phantom pains he felt as he resisted clawing at his own skin, tossing and turning in bed as he gasped for air.
Until arms wrapped around, voice cooing sweet nothings into his ear. He’d slowly calm down and sighed, curled into that warmth surrounding him. Feel lips pressed onto his head to remind him that he was fine. That he’ll be okay.
