Chapter Text

The Boy and The Raven

Prolouge

Looking at a wide shot of a Orchard Farm with various trees littered with various fruits, the focus lingers for a moment before a raven just over the horizon could be seen flying towards the orchard.

The raven had onyx black feathers tipped with a almost silver grey, one eye on the raven was carved out and the other full of color. Its oddest feature, however, is its size as it would take four ravens in whole with wings spread to make up one of this raven. Runes of an old nordic language can be seen inscribed on its back, crackling with a mystical energy from the old world. The raven soars over the different trees within the farm, the sound of cars buzzing by the road near the orchard. The large bird lands on one the many branches within the orchard and thrashes its wings in what seemed to be anger as it used its large talons to scratch at the branch.

" Damnit be all, I can not find him! " The raven cawed out, its one good eye switching from a beautiful brown to a deep crimson red. " He could not have moved so far, the damned mortal. Doesn't he know I chose him?! " Suddenly next to the large raven, it seemed as if a window in reality opened allowing a feminine figure made of a mixture between the nebulas within the galaxy and stars that light up upon seeing the raven. A sultry voice spoke out to the bird. " Having trouble there, All-father? " " Do not pester me Freya, spare me your silk woven words and begone! " With a laugh, the starry humanoid falls back into the pocket they made. Closing it behind them. The raven cawed once more, thunder rolling across the sky as they do so. Immenent warning of storms. Until the sound of exauhstion, the black smoke rising from a truck ridingaway from the farm. " Finally, theres that damned child. "

The raven opens its wings to take flight once more, near splitting the sky as it takes off and flies toward the truck with incredible and near impossible speed. The wind catching up soon to slow the ravens flight, the runes engrazed into the raven glows brighter with each foot closer toward the truck. Until lightning struck, the truck spins out of control and flips rolling into the ditch. The raven caws out in anger " THOR, damnit son he needs to live not die! " Thunder roars across the sky in response. The raven quickly lands next to the destroyed truck, in it the young man is passed out against the broken door. The raven is suddenly enveloped in a bright blue light, stars flutter and fall from the growing form till a giant of a man stood in the ravens place. A grey beard falls past their chest, one eye filled with crackling lightning splitting across the iris and further inward, a cloak made from stitched thunder-raven feathers blew within the harsh wind. A old shaking hand curled about a golden spear that shakes with intense power.

The young man can barely open his eyes, his vision blurred in his concussed state. Not until a booming voice, deeper than even the loudest rumble of thunder. A divine feeling of dread filled the young mans senses as he looked upon the olde god.
" Listen to me boy, you're dying. The only way to survive this is to accept my offer, become my Chosen and you will no longer fear death. " The man shifts about but groans in pain as he looks down to see his shirt, ruined and torn but stained with blood pooling on the ground past the cracks and shards of what used to be his driver side window. A deep pain catches his attention more, a large chunk of the glass pierced deep into the mans side inbetween ribs. The cloaked god offers a shaking hand to them. " Be quick and make your decision, or I will, boy. " The young one shakes his head to try and ground himself back in reality, this could all be an illusion caused from the crash..but he had no other choice, the pain was real and he needed to live. He had unfinished business. He reaches out to take the old mans hand. The moment their hands touched, lightning struck once more. The young mans vision went black as the distant sound of sirens faded to nothingness.

Chapter 1: The Chosen

Their eyes scrape open as an incomprehensible amount of colors fill their vision, voices fill their ears screaming obscenities and cheers all the same. The blur was starting to fade as his vision finally focused on a single person, the old man from before. Same feather cloak and bright eye staring at him, but from a mirror. Each movement he made the old man mimiced with perfect accuracy, as if they were one. Until their lips moved and his voice boomed in his head. " Listen to me child, you accepted your fate. Now I will guide you upon your destiny, no other can hear me except you but do be wary of how you respond to me. I am Odin, All-father of Valhalla " He stumbled in shock leaning on a bed frame he didn't recognize, the hand carvened wood was perfectly crafted from masters hired to do so. Now he notices, this room, the decorations, even his clothes he didn't recognize at all. It all looked as if it came out from the medieval times. All of this..is too much, he sits down placing a hand on his head. The pounding of Odins voice ringing in his head was worse than any headache he's had this far. " You are my Chosen, this must all be so much to you. But I never gotten your name, child. " The young man looks up to the mirror, Odin was in the same position as him like before. " ..Reidar. My name is Reidar. " His voice was shakey. " I..what is all this, where am I? " His voice started to rise, his anxiety starting to replace with anger in his tone.

" Calm down, child. You've seen people with powers in your younger years, yes? The ones in those boxes you watch. " Reidar tilted his head in confusion. " You mean tv? Yeah, I used to watch cartoons of superheros. " " Yes, yes, 'superheros'. You've become one. I have made you my Chosen, my Halr. You will take upon my powers, soul and mind until we become one. " Reidar rubs his chin for a moment, all of this has got to be some ploy, some over thought out prank of some kind. " I assure you it is no prank, Reidar. You are my Halr so now you must go on your journey to become one. "
