"Okay okay- next question, next question." Sam said while everyone on the table was laughing at the previous question.
The whole Amity high students are now fully graduated and became fully alleged adults and have different lives now.
Tucker went to Metropolis city to get his degree in technological engineering and is currently working on one of the most popular companies, or so Danny remembered.
Sam on the other hand, wanted to go to Gotham University but her parents said no and made her go to Bludhaven to study instead. But she still ended up going to Gotham once she got her degree in agricultural engineering.
Danny? Danny went to Gotham University as fast as he could. Not because of the free tuition, no, it's because it's the only place he can live while still surrounded by ectoplasm.
He unfortunately wasn't able to get the degree he wanted for his space obsession, but at least he got a degree in biology and surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) enough chemistry.
Sam and Tucker told him that it was inevitable for him to not walk his parents' footsteps but hey, at least he's not a mad scientist like them so eh.
He heard that a couple of the former jocks became mechanics and surprisingly enough, Dash became a lawyer.
Paulina became a slightly famous influencer on tiktok and thought that it was okay doing a live show on tik tok during a highschool reunion.
Obviously everyone was down for it since it's been a while since they've seen each other.
"When did you realize that you were dating a celebrity years after you broke up?" Danny instantly raised his hand and made everyone go ohhhhh.
"What?! Who!? Spill!!" Paulina shook him relentlessly until Sam had to calm her down and thus started his story.
"Back during my college years I used to date this guy-" the crowd got even louder but he had to quiet them down.
"So anyways- back in my first year I met up with someone who I swear to the ancients- looks exactly like me!" Everyone at the table gasped. "And then?"
"We both introduced ourselves and discovered that we have the same schedule and thus became friends. He was a shy guy, built like a brick but still shy. By the time in our 2nd year he confessed his feelings to me."
"What?!"
"No way!"
"That's so cute!"
"He told me that ever since we became friends he noticed how closer we were than what friends usually do and it snowballed from there." He continued reminiscing about those days, sighing the memories.
"Anyways- at first I was confused and asked him to give me time to think about this-" Paulina's wails of despair were heard from the background. "-let me finish- ahem- so when I was contemplating on what to say to this guy, I first had to think back of the many times we interacted with each other and then it clicked to me. That I like this guy the same way." The table was filled with happy screeches but he continues on.
"One point for the gays!!"
"Hell yeah we love them gay boys!!" Danny still continues his story but with a tiny chuckle.
"So when I told him that I do we were basically college sweethearts ever since."
"And what made you break up with him?" Valerie asks.
"Ah- well mostly because of our lives getting busier and busier, I was able to score on a job but required me to be out of Gotham to do so, and he was also busy with his family's financial issues. It was a heartbreaking thing for both of us to do, but it was for the best. So- we both broke up at the end of our graduation day." Paulina's wails of despair were joined by pretty much everyone else.
"Okay okay- but next question- who is this mysterious guy?" Sam stared at him with a dangerous gleam in her eyes.
"Oh! Why that's quite simple, his name is Bruce Wayne." The table went silent and then the chaos started.
"BRUCE WAYNE?!"
"BRUCIE WAYNE WAS YOUR EX???"
"GET OUT!!"
"HOW DID YOU NOT TELL US ABOUT THIS???!!"
"OH MY GOD PLEASE TELL ME HE WAS GETTING YOU INTO THOSE ROMANTIC CLICHE DATES LIKE THE MOVIES DID!!!" Everyone was too busy interrogating Danny for answers, the live stream went wild with this information.
Bruce Wayne???, the same Brucie Wayne that goes around and kisses everyone and starts fights??? The same.man who's the sweetest guy Gotham could ever make????
AND THEY WERE COLLEGE SWEETHEARTS?
Brucie Wayne??? Man extraordinaire, man who breaks hearts and makes more hearts to love him more Wayne??? Bruce I don't know how to use this simple gadget Wayne????
The batkids on the other hand were appalled.
This guy was able to get Bruce's heart for that long??? Longer than any ex he ever had???
The live stream was airing in the batcave as everyone in it was looking at Bruce for answers.
The man didn't seem to notice his children's stares as he looked onto the man on the live stream.
"My, I haven't heard of Master Danny in a long time, don't you as well master Bruce?" Bruce didn't answer as he kept staring at the man in question.
"I remembered the time he got me into an expensive Yacht as a gift, in which I gave him a simple love card and some homemade lasagna- I was pretty embarrassed by my gift but the man himself was crying when I looked up. Then he told me that this was one of the few gifts that someone genuinely gave to him ever since his parents death. I decided to teach myself how to cook because everytime I give him something that's homemade it makes him cry. I honestly thought it was cute. Like- I can't believe this grown ass man cries over a lasagna, but he was my grown ass man." everyone can see the tiny blush that was on his cheeks.
"No way- you used to date uncle Danny???" Dick screeched.
"YOU GUYS ARE STILL IN CONTACT???" Steph was shouting and pointing at Bruce.
"Don't all his exes always have one way to contact him?" Duke interjects.
"Ah, but master Duke, the only differences between those exes and master Danny was how he was the one who taught your father on how to properly take care of master Dick and master Jason." Alfred says as he deliberately ignores Bruce's stare.
"Oh my god- our babysitter was your ex???" Jason said aloud. "I remembered when master Danny read your favorite books before you went to bed master Jason." Jason was now the one flushing.
"Back then, he wasn't the Brucie Wayne everyone says a lot on social media- he was just a shy guy who had a lot on his shoulders. Plus being a rich guy has its pros and cons, so I basically became his honorary knight in shining armor whenever some students were being too close to him than usual. So we never seemed to be separated, hell, I don't even remember a time where each of us were alone without the other. Even before we were dating."
"And? And????" The woman who asked the question- Paulina shook Danny for more explanation until someone had to drag her away from him.
"Well- on valentines day, Bruce thought it was a good idea to cook- but the chocolate ended up being charcoal and was so depressed he didn't go to class that day." A lot of coos were heard from the background.
"So I got worried, and went to his place. His butler told me what happened and directed me to his room." A lot of oohs were heard as Danny flushed.
"A-anyways- when I went there I swear he looked like a kicked puppy, he wouldn't answer to his butler at all and went straight to his bed. I told him that it's okay-they're probably weren't that bad? Honestly it wasn't as bad as my parents cooking in the fridge but that says a lot about the cookies. I still ate them cuz it's the thought that counts." Awww!!!
"Dude you guys are so sappy!! How dare you not tell us all about it?" Tucker clutched his nonexistent pearls as he pointed to Danny.
"I did tho?" Huh?!
"Remember those pictures I sent to you years back?" What pictures?! DANNY WHAT PICTURES???
"Here lemme show you- ah here we go! Tadah!" It was a picture of a young Bruce Wayne and Danny sharing a scarf together on a winter eve with letters saying above 'first winter date!!'
"Oh my god you guys look so soft- and fucking cute- how dare you two break up!" Valerie was the one screeching.
Danny shrugs "oh! I remembered this one!" He showed a picture of a flustered Bruce and Danny holding his face as he gave him a kiss. They looked happy.
"Damn what happened to you two? You guys looked so cute together B!" Steph exclaimed but Bruce didn't answer. The kids looked closer to the man and saw that he was staring solely at the man in the live stream.
It was a weird sight to see, they never get to see this kind of softness Bruce wouldn't let out on. Not even to his own children.
"It was just the unfortunate circumstances, young mistress Stephanie." Alfred answers but he looks sad.
Oh they were really that cute huh?
"I mean- if we were both given a chance, we could still be together y'know?" Danny looks at the window beside him sighing. "But we both know that life wouldn't let us…" the live stream went quiet.
Someone's hand reached out to pat Danny's shoulder. "Hey man, I'm sure that you guys are able to get together if given the chance!"
"Hell yeah! I work at the main branch of Wayne corps so I'll make sure that man better get to you!" Sam said with a burning passion.
"Can't believe out of all of us- it's Danny who gets to have the most romcom story of the year." Tucker groaned as everyone laughed about it.
Then somebody shouted "I dated the Riddler one time!" And chaos started once more.
Bruce finally said something when the camera cut to the person in question. "I hope we don't. So that I'll never have to see you cry again…" he mumbled to himself, unfortunately to him, his children have very sharp hearing when they wanted to be.
when the camera angled right back to Danny with Sam. "Dude you are so gonna go with me back to Gotham this month! I will drag my himbo of a boss by the ear if I have to!"
"Sam I'd appreciate it but we still keep in contact-"
"KEEP IN CONTACT????"
"-but the last time we talked was when I visited for his second son's death." That made the entire table quiet once more.
"Oh… oh man…" Tucker said out loud.
"A-are you okay talking about it?" Valerie asks but Danny nods. "It's only a little info but I think he won't mind- probably. Bruce did say I didn't have a good sense of self preservation." He chuckles to himself. everyone suddenly stares at Jason in which the man now concentrates on the live stream.
"when he- when he contacted me, it had been about almost 5 years ever since our break up. I knew that throughout the years he made to become Brucie Wayne! Inspired by my dad's whole himbo personality, but the person who contacted me wasn't Brucie Wayne extraordinaire. It was Bruce Wayne. My former and possibly last love." The table went quiet as they let him continue.
"He was a sobbing mess over the phone, I couldn't console him enough on the phone so I decided to move to Gotham to check up on him. Well when I got there he didn't dare to let go of me."
"He was sobbing and stuttering the whole time but I didn't care, all I cared for was his health. I heard about Jason's death when the news came out and really wanted to go and check him out but I couldn't due to my job."
"So there he was, a sobbing mess. He told me 'I miss him Danny, I loved my boy, yet I lost him' over and over again…" the silence etched throughout the whole stream whilst the chat was going wild.
"I know Bruce doesn't play favorites, he never plays favorites. But I know that he loved that boy with all his heart." There were tears shining on Danny's eyes.
"It took me about a month before my boss couldn't let me extend my vacation any longer, I had to unfortunately leave Bruce behind. But not before recommending him to my sister's number for therapy sessions."
"I don't know if he did go to my sister or not, all I know is that he's still mourning for that little boy that died. Maybe he visits his grave whenever he can, maybe talks to a picture frame of the kid in it- what's even sadder is that the kid looked nice."
"He looked so nice, kind, and gentle. The snippets of what Bruce could tell me was that this boy was the most loving yet diligent kid."
Silence.
The silence was big until someone cleared their throat.
"I think we should let the live stream end now- bye everyone." Paulina waves the camera as she ends the stream.
No one in the batcave said anything.
Jason wasn't looking at Bruce when they all looked back at him.
Bruce merely looked down as he walked back upstairs. "I'll be in my room Alfred." He murmurs as they all see him go.
"...Bullshit." Jason finally says something as he angrily stomps to his bike and drives away.
"... Well, that turned to a sour note.", Tim sarcastically says as everyone stares at him "What? I'm telling the truth though?"
As much as they wanna agree on that, now was not the time.
"It's still unfair tho! It looks like Bruce and Danny ended on a happier term, and he didn't even ask Bruce for money unlike his other exes!!" Steph exclaims.
"I do not wish to admit this but I think you are correct, Brown." Woah, baby bat agreeing with Steph? That's saying something.
"But how are we gonna get them together without B knowing?" Duke asks.
Alfred cleared his throat. "I think I have the solution to your problem."
Now all of the Bat children look at each other and give a feral smile to each other.
They are so gonna get these two love birds back!
