Chapter Text
As the Hunter sat on the field of flowers in the Hunter’s Dream, after killing both the First Hunter and the Moon Presence. He thought upon himself, on how this nightmare will ever end, as he continued to gaze on the endless night, the Plain Doll walked up to him and gave him comfort.
“You’ve done well, good hunter.” The doll said in a calm comforting voice, as she sat beside the hunter in the field of flowers.
The Hunter only nodded at the calm comforting words of the doll, he finds solace in the doll, mostly because she is the only comfort that the Hunter can rest on in the endless night of the hunt. As the two continue to gaze on the moonlit surroundings of the field of flowers, the Hunter notices the corpse of the First Hunter lying peacefully.
As the two were sitting, the Hunter got up, and took a look at Gehrman's dead corpse. The weapons of the First Hunter were lying beside the corpse. With little to no hesitation, the Hunter quickly carried the corpse, and laid it on the wheelchair where the First Hunter once sat.
“You are now free, Gehrman, from this nightmare, from this dream, from this hunt.” The Hunter said solemnly to the corpse, before going back to the flower field to gaze at the endless night with the doll.
“Will this hunt ever end, Plain Doll?” the Hunter asked Plain Doll.
“I do not know, good hunter.” she replied. “Maybe in days pass, the hunt will slowly subside, but I do not know when it will truly end. But if you wish to seek comfort from the hunt, I will be here to give you solace.”
The Hunter finds the doll’s kind words comforting, as two continued to gaze at the endless night, the Hunter quickly gets up, and proceeds to one of the gravestones located near the workshop, the doll soon quickly follows.
“I’m going back to the hunt, in hopes to lessen the severity of the beast scourge.” The Hunter said as he kneel in front of the gravestone.
“Goodluck in the waking world, good hunter.” The doll said, gently waving goodbye to the hunter.
As the Hunter’s consciousness slowly fades, his body slowly falls into the soft grass. In a moment’s flash, the hunter slowly wakes up only to find himself in a secluded forest.
The forest was quiet, the only thing that prevented the forest from becoming completely silent was the calm ambience of the night. The surrounding areas were brightly lit by the light of the moon, making the night very visible to see, and very easy to navigate. As the Hunter got up, he noticed the forest was calm and soothing; a stark contrast from the forests back in Yharnam.
Despite the calm soothing ambience of the forest, the Hunter took up a cautious mind, as he started walking through the forest. His walk was slow and steady, as he carefully looked around his surroundings for any beasts that wished to kill him. Though the Hunter took a cautious mind, he took the time, admire the calm scenery of the forest, as it reminded him of the times the Hunter and the doll sat together in the field of flowers in Hunter’s Dream.
As minutes went by, the Hunter stumbled upon a house which seemed to be abandoned. As night continues to fall, the Hunter took it upon himself to seek shelter for a short while, before heading out again to explore his new environment.
As the Hunter slowly walks towards the house, he notices that the house’s structure and design is vastly different from ones back in Yharnam, the house itself seems to only stand one-storey high, it’s walls were mostly made out of sturdy wood and hard clay to serve both as the foundation of the house, and serve as protection from the elements; a very stark contrasts from the many stone brick houses back in Yharnam. The doors appear to be a sliding door, as the Hunter saw both doors were slided away from each other leaving the entrance wide open, the door’s structure consist of wooden frames and a translucent paper like sheets that covers the door’s entire frame.
Still in his cautious mind, The Hunter readied both his hunter pistol and the Rakuyo, and slowly made his way to the entrance. As he arrived, the interior of the house was dark, and the smell of blood was present. The Hunter takes notice of this, and prepares to split the Rakuyo, without a moment’s notice, a beast that greatly resembles a human quickly leaps out from the dark interior of the house, the Hunter quickly notices and dodges the beast's leap.
“Your skills at dodging are good,” The beast scowled at the Hunter, “let’s see how good you are at fighting.”
The Hunter was surprised that the beast can talk quite clearly, though he readies himself to fight, as he prepares his weapons.
“It’s quite interesting that you talk,” the Hunter replied back. “you are very different from the many beasts I’ve killed in the past.”
“Did you just call me a beast?” The beast said as he grew angry at the Hunter calling him a ‘beast’. “I will tear down your body, and feast on your flesh!”
The beast stands that of an average human, he is vastly different from the other beasts back in Yharnam, as he looked more human rather than being a deformed husk. The beast’s only difference from humans is that his body had marks in his pale skin.
“I see that you’re as bloodlusted as the scourge of beasts that plagued Yharnam.” said the Hunter, as he readied the Rakuyo, and took up a defensive stance. “Let’s see who is the better fighter.”
“Taunting me now, I see,” The beast said as his rage grew. “When I kill you, I will make sure you suffer every second!”
Without hesitation, the beast quickly leaped forward, as he grew into an aggressive frenzy after being called a ‘beast’ by the Hunter. The Hunter acknowledges this, and quickly pulls out his pistol and shoots the beast, causing him to fall from the impact of the bullet. Taking advantage of this, he quickly runs towards the beast and quickly stabs him in the chest with Rakuyo.
The stab was that as of great strength, the long blade of the Rakuyo effortlessly pierces the flesh of the beast, releasing a pool of crimson red blood from the wound.
“I admire your desire to kill me,” said the Hunter “but I have killed beasts far stronger than you, and now I shall give you the mercy of death.”
The beast was shocked at the inhuman strength of the Hunter, as he effortlessly pierced his flesh with the Rakuyo. The beast tried to regenerate himself, but it was to no avail. The beast stared at the Hunter, not with anger, but with fear.
The beast struggled to break free from the Rakuyo’s blade, but it was no use as the blade itself was deeply pierced into his body.
“Now, I shall grant you mercy” The Hunter said one last time.
The Hunter quickly splits Rakuyo, and uses the bladed dagger to stab the head of the beast and violently ripping his head off from his body. As the Hunter completely rips off the beast’s head, the fountains of blood quickly pour out from the now headless neck.
After killing the beast, the Hunter quickly removed the head from the Rakuyo’s dagger and throws it the at the dead corpse of the beast, the head made a loud fleshy thump sound as it collided with the hard soil, the impact of the head causes the pool of blood to splatter around its surrounding area.
The Hunter looked at the lifeless corpse that he had killed, the body was covered with blood after the quick fight, he then removed the long blade of the Rakuyo from the body and merged it back with the dagger.
“Guess this hunt will forever continue.” The Hunter said to himself as he looked at the dead corpse of the beast with a melancholic stare. “At least, you had the mercy of death, to not suffer from this nightmare.”
As the Hunter continued to stare at the body, he suddenly heard footsteps running towards him. Thinking it might be another beast, he readies both the hunter pistol, and the Rakuyo.
Moments later, the footsteps stop their tracks, and the Hunter sees a figure standing a fair distance away from him, to his surprise, the figure is a human.
