Notes:

welcome to another one of hannji’s skz stories😙😙🫶

first things first; the story is a song fic. so sorry if it’s not your favorite🥲

secondly, their really isn’t a big warning i should give besides the one of Chris not liking his English name and of him being refer to as “Chris” in this fic instead of “Bang Chan” but that’s in the tags too.

pls enjoy, and there is a special note at the end so pls read✌️

p.s. if you want, i left the link of the song if you guys want to listen to it while reading the singing part. you don’t have to but- it would be kind of weird to just read it (just saying🙌)

second p.s. Jeon Jiwoo is mention, from KARD. but there is no tag for her like for Ateez, so i just say it here.

now, that’s it, enjoy🙃

you belong with me, binnie

—where Christopher is in love with a soccer player, and with his best friends’ help decides to confess to him at prom—

—March 25, 2018—

Christopher Bang walked down the hallway towards his next class.

His head was down, his headphones on, vibing to the newest released album from BTS, his favorite K-pop group.

Christopher Bang was an exchange student, from Australia, and had begun his first year of high school in Korea.

His parents sent him away as a “learn your lesson” type of punishment since he had confessed he wanted to do music instead of continuing school. His parents were mad, obviously, and had sent him away to his grandparents home; in Korea.

He was a boy that kept a lot to himself, not having many friends. He was quiet, reserved, and only worried about doing his work. He really didn’t want any friends either.

He just wanted to finish high school and apply to an agency as soon as possible so he could prove to his parents that a career in music could actually work for him.

However, at the beginning of the new year, Christopher had made a friend. Without meaning to, but he still had made a friend.

Well, actually, two

Lee Minho and Lee Yongbok, or as Christopher called him; Felix.

Minho, he met with a class project they had been paired up to do. It had been awkward at first, Christopher not being good at socialism (excluding yourself did that to you) but Minho was pretty chill. And soon enough Chris warmed up to him.

They became best friends, eventually.

Yongbok he didn’t talk to personally, it was more of Yongbok catching him listening to a BTS song and fanboying all over Christopher.

It grew from there when Yongbok found out that Chris was also Australian and that he had moved from Australia to Korea in the exchange student program.

It turned out Yongbok was also part of the exchange program, and had come over thanks to his parents also disapproving of his music career wishes and wanting to get him on the straight path.

Whatever that meant.

So at the end, Christopher had made two friends, to which he had  become best friends with by the end of the month he met them.

And as Christopher walked down the hallway towards his English class (which was an elective, not necessary for graduation but still took anyways) he bumped into someone.

Chris took off his headphones and looked down (by a very small fraction) and met a pair of black eyes looking up at him.

“Are you okay?”

Christopher’s gaze was set in the boy’s eyes, not registering the question.

It was like they were hypnotizing him; like the dark sky over the starry night.

“Hey.”

Christopher looked down at his lips, glossy pink. He also had chubby cheeks, and very chubby lips. Chris wondered if they were soft as they looked.

“Hey, pretty boy, can you hear me?”

Christopher felt his shoulder being shaken and he shook off his trance and looked up at the boy again. He was looking back at him with worry.

“Huh?”

“Are you okay? You just bumped into me.”

“Oh.” Suddenly Chris felt his cheeks grow hot. “Yeah, sorry about that.”

“It’s all good.” The boy smiled and Chan was definitely being hypnotized.

That was the most beautiful and bright smile he had ever seen in someone other than Lee Yongbok.

And just like it did when Yongbok smiled, it filled him with happiness. Although this happiness felt very warm and tickled his stomach.

That definitely didn’t happen with Felix.

“I’m Changbin, by the way.”

“I’m-“ Christopher stopped himself before saying his English name. “I’m Bang Chan.”

“Nice to meet you.” Changbin smiled again; this time showing all his teeth.

The bell for the next class rang and Chan knew he was running late.

“Sorry for bumping into you.” Chan gave a small bow.

“Don’t worry about it.” Changbin looked at Bang directly into his eyes. “Your pretty face makes up for it.”

Chan blushed, a deep red, and Changbin chuckled softly.

“Changbin!” Someone called. “We gotta go!”

Changbin looked past his shoulder to a boy with highlights and nodded.

“Well, I’ll see you around, Bang.”

Changbin gave him another smile before he walked away.

Christopher stood there, looking at Changbin walk away, and saw him enter a classroom.

He must play some kind of sport.

He’s so handsome too.

Gosh, I wish someone like that was my boyfriend.

If only I wasn’t Christopher Bang.

The bell rang again, and Christopher knew he was definitely late.

—April 25, 2021—

“Christopher!” Felix shouted from the other end of the hallway.

Christopher Bang stood at his locker, putting some books away.

“Felix!”

Felix ran towards Chris and jumped into his arms. Bang picked him up and hugged him tightly.

“I missed you so so so much.” Felix didn’t let go until seconds later after he was put back on the floor.

“I’ve missed you too.”

Another person walked up to them.

“How was vacation, Hyunjin?”

A tall boy with blonde hair and black eyes looked back at Chris.

Hwang Hyunjin was Yongbok’s boyfriend of three years. They’ve been together since freshman year and are about to reach their 4th year anniversary.

“It was good, my parents loved Yongbok.”

“Who doesn’t?” Chris asked. Hyunjin smiled and nodded.

“Yeah, who doesn’t.” Felix blushed.

“How was your vacation, Chris?”

“I spent it at home mostly, didn’t go out much.”

“But I thought Minho was going to stay to be with you?”

“He had to leave to his family’s due to an emergency.” Felix pouted. “It’s okay though, he made sure to call me everyday.”

“Good!”

“And Jisung stopped by so often to play video games with me, or to write some songs when we felt inspired.”

“That’s my boy, having some actual fun on vacation.” Chris blushed out of embarrassment. “What about Changbin?”

Chris turned red, up to his ears.

“What about Changbin?”

Everyone turned around to see Lee Minho standing behind Chris, his arm around another boy who was shorter than him with curly brown hair, chubby cheeks and brown eyes.

“Minho!” Yongbok jumped into Minho’s space and hugged him, almost making him fall.

“Felix, Felix.” Minho tried to not trip over his feet. “I’m happy to see you too, but I’m not a hugger.”

“You let Jisung hug you.”

“That’s because it’s Jisung.” Felix pouted, again.

Han Jisung was Minho’s boyfriend of four years. They met in summer before freshman year on a job they shared as a summer part time. Minho is very protective and possessive over him, Chris sometimes worried about the boy.

But Jisung seemed fine with it, so Chris didn’t worry too much. (He still worries.)

“What were we saying about Changbin?” Minho brought the topic back into the conversation while Jisung talked with Felix.

If there was something Minho and Yongbok knew well about Christopher Bang was his undying crush on Seo Changbin from class 3C since freshman year.

Changbin, who was on the soccer team, who also went by the nickname Spear B, who also rapped, who loved food, dogs, bunnies, the color pink (even when he denied it).

Changbin, who had a pet named Dwaekki, who goes to the gym every afternoon with the exception of Sundays and Wednesdays. Those days he spent at his house (doing who knows what). And who loved BTS just as much Chris did.

And they knew all of this all thanks to Christopher Bang, who believed it or not even with his undying crush, had become friends with the boy in their freshman year.

“Have you seen him yet?”

“No, why?”

Suddenly, there were a lot of whispers in the hallway.

“Look for yourself.” Felix turned Chris around towards the end of the hallway.

Christopher Bang’s world stopped.

Literally, it slowed down.

Down the hallway came Seo Changbin.

Except it wasn’t the Seo Changbin he knew because this one had muscles where once was just skinny body mass. His jaw wasn’t V-shaped anymore, it was more rounder; more refined. He wore joggers and a gray shirt to match them; his hands had a bottle with a protein shake in it (to which Chris knew thanks to Minho).

Chris’s bag slipped through his fingers.

His heart was beating so fast he could feel it in his eardrums. His face fell so hot and his stomach began tickling him; like when he saw him for the first time.

Christopher fell in love all over again.

“Hey.”

Chris was still in his trance to hear anything.

“Bang.”

Chris felt like he could touch the stars.

“Bang Chan.”

“Christopher!”

Felix pushed Christopher forward, making him trip and by default, ending in Changbin’s arms.

“Eh?” Chris looked down and saw Changbin holding him, a smile on his lips. “Binnie?”

“Hi.” Chris blushed a deep red and stood, stumbling in the process. “You okay?”

“Y-Yeah.” Chris looked back at his friends and saw them a few feet away, pretending to do their own thing.

Traitors.

“How was vacation?”

“O-Okay.” Do not stutter right now, Christopher Bang. “How about yours?”

“It was okay too.” Seo smiled. “Although I missed your pretty face.”

Chris could already hear Minho’s and Felix’s teasing a mile away.

“Oh, yeah?” Chris said. “Well, I can’t say I say the same thing about you. Look at you, when did this happen?”

“Oh, this?” Changbin looked down at himself. “I’ve been exercising a lot lately. Soccer season is going to be big this year, so I wanted to be ready.”

“Let me know when you have a game, I’ll go.” Changbin’s face lit up.

“Really?”

“Yes, of course.” Chris patted Changbin’s shoulder. “I have to support my friend.”

My friend.

Christopher hated those words.

“I definitely will, then.”

There was silence where both boys just stared at each other.

“Changbin!”

Christopher groaned; something he was grateful Changbin didn’t hear.

“Wooyoung!”

A boy with purple highlights walked up to them and hugged Changbin.

“How you doing?”

“Good, man.” Changbin answered. “Just catching up with Bang.”

“Oh, hey Christopher.” Wooyoung greeted him.

And Chris wanted the Earth to swallow him and throw him in a deserted island where no one, where Changbin, won’t find him to make fun of his English name.

Christopher?”

“Oh, look at the time.” Chris said, picking up his bag from the floor. “Got to go!”

Chris turned around, closed his locker, and walked away.

He grabbed Felix on the way and pulled him by the wrist to follow him.

“I’ll see you in History class!” Changbin shouted.

Chris just gave him a thumbs up, not even looking at him.

“Isn’t he a little weird?” Wooyoung said, teasing.

“Don’t say that about him.” Changbin gave his friend a stern look. “He’s everything but weird.”

The look Changbin had on his face was of pure affection

And Minho, Jisung and Hyunjin were there to see it.

“Whatever you say, man.” Wooyoung left.

Changbin still stood in the same place, still looking to where Chris had left with Yongbok. His eyes full of affection in them, that it made Minho just wonder, what if…?

—May 4, 2021—

“So, Chris.” Minho sat next to his best friend at a lunch table. “My music teacher wants us to perform for prom, you want to join us?”

“Perform what?”

“Anything.” Minho grabbed a piece of burger from Chris's tray. “Hyunjin and I want to prepare a dance performance.”

“Nice.”

“Maybe Yongbok, Sunggie and you can sing.”

Chris choked on his juice and began coughing.

“W-what?”

“Yeah, all three of you have great voices. Never mind the fact that Sunggie and you are great rappers.”

“B-but, in front of the entire school?” Minho looked back at Chris. “Like, everyone?”

Minho grinned.

Oh, are you shy to sing in front of Changbin?” Chris blushed. “Oh, so you are.”

“That’s not true.”

“Then do it.” Minho said. “Sing with Felix and Jisung at prom.”

“But-“

“Or are you too scared to sing in front of Changbin, Christopher?”

Chris knew Minho had good intentions in pressuring him and he appreciated it, but singing in front of the entire graduating class?

Nevermind that; to sing in front of Seo Changbin?

No, Christopher preferred drowning before doing that

“Chris.” Minho shook him. “I know it sounds scary but,” The youngest scoot a little closer to Chris. “You do want to confess to him at some point, right?”

Chris didn’t say anything.

“Do not tell me you weren’t thinking of telling him before the end of the year?”

“Um… maybe.”

Minho almost hit him with the tray.

“It’s been three years Chris, three!”

“I know, I know.”

“Take this chance, and confess to him with a song.”

“What?”

“Yeah, it’s what Sunggie and I did.”

Oh, yes, the famous Minsung confession

Freshman year, ending of first semester, on December 25, 2018.

Christopher still remembered it like it had been yesterday.

Minho and Jisung had each other as their secret santa (Chris’s and Felix’s doing) and as a gift they were going to confess to each other through the thing they both love most; music (also Felix’s and Chris’s doing).

And on December 25, 2018, Yongbok’s house, they both confess by singing to each other.

Minho sang a song called 24 to 25, which Chris had written for him to sing. Jisung wrote his own song; Volcano. In Chris’s opinion it was a very beautiful song; he cried by the end of it.

“It’s not a bad idea, and you know that.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“Think about it, okay?” Minho placed a hand on Chris’s shoulder. “You deserve to be happy too, Chris.”

Christopher didn’t say anything, only looking at his tray of food.

“Hyunjin is calling, we have practice.” Minho stood. “Talk to you later, Chris.”

“Bye, Minho.”

—Hours Later—

Christopher stood at his locker putting some books away before he left.

Yongbok waited for him at the gym since they were walking home together today.

When Chris was on his last book, something caught his attention. Or rather a sound did. He looked back to where it came from, and saw Changbin laughing.

He was about to smile too, loving to always hear Changbin’s laugh, but then he saw someone. A girl. Standing in front of Changbin, a dazed look in her eyes.

Christopher’s heart dropped to his feet.

Did Changbin have a girlfriend that he didn't know about? No, right?

Changbin would have told him.

They were friends, right?

Right?

Chris felt his eyes watered instantly, at the same time as he saw Changbin make eye contact with him.

Bang looked away and towards the floor.

No, he wasn’t going to cry.

It’s not like they were anything.

They were just friends.

Yeah, just friends

Chris felt the tears beginning to run down his face, so with the sleeve of his jacket he cleaned them off, closed his locker and walked away.

“Wait, Bang!”

Changbin stood where Chris once stood, a sad look on his face.

“Damn, he left.” Changbin huffed, turned back around and with one last look at Chris’s locker, he walked away.

—Yongbok’s House—

“Felix.”

“Mmm?” The blue-haired boy (recently dyed) looked up from his textbook.

“Do you know if Changbin is talking with anyone of his class?” Chris asked, Felix looked at him confused. “A girl? A boy?”

“In a romantic way?” Chris nodded.

Felix tilted his head sideways, to which Chris always thought made him look like one of Minho’s cats.

“There was this rumor going around that he was talking to this boy called Yang Jeongin.”

“Rumor?”

“Yeah.” Felix closed his textbook. “It started because they saw him walk with Jeongin after school hours.”

“And?” Felix rose an eyebrow at Chris. “Were they dating?”

“No.” Felix answered; still looking at Chris confused for his sudden interest. “Jeongin is actually his stepbrother.” Felix added. “Who had just started freshman year and who already had a boyfriend.”

“Oh.” Chris let out a deep sigh. Felix still looked at him, now intrigued.

“Yeah, a boy from the baseball team; Kim Seungmin.”

“Oh yeah, I know him.” Chris said. “We have English class together.”

“Yup, him.”

“Are there any rumors now?”

“Why are you suddenly so interested in Changbin’s love life?”

“Just wondering.”

“Right…” Felix stared at Chris’s face to see if he gave any hints of a lie.

“So?”

“There was something going around today.” Chris’s heart stopped beating for the second time that day. “They saw him talking to a girl named Jeon Jiwoo in the hallway.”

Chris felt his eyes get all teary up again.

“People began asking Jiwoo if they were dating, or at least talking in a romantic way, but she said that they were just friends.”

Those words… Chris hated those words more than life itself.

Chris wanted so badly to know the truth, to know if they were actually something between Changbin and this girl.

But they weren’t anything special, not even close friends. And Chris had no right in telling Changbin who he could or couldn’t date.

But even so.

It hurt him, deep inside his soul, to think of Changbin with someone else.

Someone that wasn’t him

And the thought of it made his heart break into a million little pieces.

“Chris!”

Christopher looked up and realized his vision was blurry.

“What..?” Felix touched his face and Chris realized what he was doing.

Felix was cleaning off his tears

“Are you okay?” Felix asked. When his vision cleared, he saw him kneeling in front of him. “Does this have anything to do with Changbin?”

Christopher nodded, he never could keep anything from Felix.

“Oh, Chris.” Felix hugged him. “I’m so sorry, love.”

Christopher felt Felix’s hands around him and it made him think of all those times the boy had been there to comfort him in his hard times.

So without being able to hold it, Christopher began sobbing in Felix’s arms.

And Felix just held him, tightly against his chest, however long he needed to.

—9:30 p.m.—

Christopher woke up.

And the first thing he realized was that he wasn’t on his own bed.

“Hey.” He heard Felix’s voice at his side and when he looked at him, he saw him with a smile on his face.

“Did I fall asleep?”

“Yes, after like two hours of unstoppable crying.”

“Hyunjin!” Felix reprimanded.

“I’m so sorry, Felix.” Christopher went to stand but realized they weren’t alone.

Not only was Hyunjin there now, but there were also some blankets on the floor, pillows, a lot of snacks, drinks and a very annoyed Minho with a very teasing Jisung trying to connect Felix’s proyector to a computer.

“Why is everyone here?”

“I invited them for a sleepover.”

“You did?”

“Yeah.” Felix hugged Chris from behind and placed his chin over his shoulder.

Chris couldn’t help looking at Hyunjin; the boy was a little too jealous over Felix.

Although no one beated Minho when it came to jealousy.

“When one of us feels bad, we always make a sleepover to feel better. Or did you forget about that?”

Chris had indeed forgotten about that.

It was a dumb idea they got in freshman year, when Minho had lost in a dancing competition and Felix came up with the idea of a sleepover to make him feel better.

It sort of became tradition after that.

“Thank you, guys.”

“Anything for you, Wolf Chan.” Felix said, hugging his hyung tighter around his neck. “Come, let’s choose a movie.”

The rest of the night was spent between jokes and laughs.

And Chris remembered why he loved his friends so much.

Midway through a romantic movie while Jisung and Felix cried in the background, Chris came to a conclusion.

He was going to do it.

He was going to sing in front of the entire graduating class; in front of Seo Changbin.

And he was going to confess to him while doing so, whatever the aftermath would be. He would worry about that when he got there.

But he was going to do it, and he already knew what song he wanted to use.

—May 18, 2021—

—Prom Day—

“Channie! Channie!”

Chris felt his body being shaken.

“Chris! Chris!”

Chris opened his eyes slowly, and found Felix’s face looking down at him.

“Wakey, wakey.”

Christopher swore Felix had two personalities for the way he could swap between octaves in his voice.

“Morning.”

“I already picked, cleaned, and hung our outfits for today.”

“Thank you?”

“Hyunjin is doing our makeup.”

“Right.” Chris stood from Felix’s bed.

They had another sleep over last night due to Chris being extremely nervous. They literally went over every detail about the song, four times, before Chris was completely satisfied with the result.

“And Jisung is bringing some breakfast.”

“And Minho?”

“Minho is bringing the transportation.” Felix said with the brightest smile. Chris swore the boy was a fairy in his past life; there was no way someone could be this happy, and bright.

Not that Felix didn’t have his reasons for being this happy.

“I’m so nervous, I feel like throwing up.”

“Nuh uh, I don’t want to hear it.” Felix grabbed Chris’s shoulders. “We are going to do this, and we’re going to have fun and you're going to confess your undying love to Seo Changbin whatever it may take.”

“Felix…”

“I’m not letting you walk away without telling him.”

“Ok, ok.” Felix smiled at the same time as the door opened.

“Minsung is here.” Hyunjin announced.

“Okay, then!” Felix stood, clapping his hands together. Chris saw the biggest and brightest smile he had ever seen in him in the four years he had known him.

Felix was very happy.

And that was a good thing.

So Chris would overcome this fear and be happy too.

He deserved it.

—9:30 p.m.—

Chris stood at the edge of the stage, waiting for Felix and Han.

“Hey.”

Christopher got startled and dropped his water bottle on the ground.

“I’m sorry, Bang.”

Chris turned around and was met with a sloppy smile and big… brown eyes?

Christopher blinked a couple of times.

“Why are your eyes brown if you have black eyes?” Changbin couldn’t help the blush that appeared on his face.

“You know I have black eyes?”

Christopher blushed.

“Um… y-yes.” Chris said, stuttering.

“Not everyone knows.” Changbin took a step closer, caging Chris against the stage. “I usually wear contacts.”

“So you're wearing contacts.” Changbin nodded.

“I don’t think brown suits you.” Chris said, pushing a little back against Changbin to create some space between them.

“Then, what do you think would fit me?”

“Blue.”

“Like yours?”

Christopher’s face became a tomato, and let’s not even talk about his ears.

“I got to go.” Chris passed by Binnie and ran towards the stairs.

“Bang!” Chris stopped midway. “Look for me after the performance is done, I want to talk to you.”

Chris nodded, not really hearing what he said, but accepting nonetheless.

“Are you ready?” Han asked as soon as he made it backstage.

“Yes.”

“Good, because today is the day, baby.”

“Yeah, Felix already told me.” Jisung smiled and began shaking Chris’s shoulders.

“I’m so excited for you.” Jisung said.

“Thank you?”

“Listen, don’t be nervous, okay?” Chris nodded. “Just have fun, and if at the end everything ends well, well great.” Chris nodded again.

“No matter what though,” Minho came behind Chris and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. “We still love you, and we’ll always be here for you.”

“Thank you.”

The rest of the team got ready, and soon enough the performance started.

Changbin stood in the back, close to the snacks table, his eyes on Chris the entire time he was on stage.

This was the night, indeed.

—

After the cheerleaders performance, which Jiwoo performed as team captain, it was Chris' turn.

Chris, along with Felix and Jisung, both entered the stage with three bar stools.

Chris sat at the front, Felix and Jisung sitting a little behind him. Not too far in case he needed them for anything, or if he got too nervous he could reach for Felix’s finger or Han’s hand. (Something he did with both for about two years now).

“Hi, I’m-” Chris stopped, he looked back at Felix.

“It’s okay.” Felix mumbled with a smile. “Be you.” Chris looked back at the crowd and took a deep breath.

Chris, just be you. Who cares that you have an english name? Or an Australian accent? Or blonde, purple, black or blue hair? If it makes you happy, fuck everybody else.

He remembered Hannah’s words weeks back when they facetime each other in their monthly call.

He smiled bright, and opened his eyes again.

“Hi, I’m Christopher Bang, and my part is the slow dancing song.”

There were some whispers around, he didn’t expect any less, but the one true reaction he was looking for was looking back at him from the back center of the room.

And Chris felt his heart flutter and his chest fill with air.

Changbin stared back at him with a big smile that showed his white teeth and dimples. His eyes sparked in the darkness, and just like the first time when he looked at them; he felt hypnotized

“So, please enjoy.” The music began playing and Felix gave a small squeeze to Chris’s arm.

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she’s upset.”

Chris knew what he was doing with his song of choice, but he had to confess somehow. This just fitted all of his boxes of “things I want to tell Seo Changbin but won’t”

“She’s going off about something that you said, ‘cause she doesn’t get your humor like I do.”

And yes, there were some words that people were probably going to think were directed to someone; but something he had learned (from Hyunjin; who was a bad influence) was to protect what was yours. And to be petty.

“I’m in my room, it’s a typical Tuesday night. I’m listening to the kind of music she doesn’t like.”

So he was doing both.

“And she’ll never know your story like I do.” Chris smiled, thinking (for some reason) of Dwaekki; Changbin’s white French Bulldog.

“‘Cause she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts. She’s Cheer Captain and I’m on the bleachers, dreaming about the day when you wake up and find that what you’re looking for has been here the whole time.”

“If you could see that I’m the one who understands you.” Chris thought of all those midnight conversations where Changbin would vent to him about anything that bothered him. (And he needed to admit, that was a secret between the two of them, because not even Felix knew. And Felix knew everything). “Been here all along, so, why can’t you see? You belong with me.”

“You belong with me.” Felix and Jisung sang, backing up for Chris.

“Walk in the streets with you in your worn-out jeans.” Chris looked around the place, trying to find Binnie with no effort due to the many people dancing around. “I can’t help thinking this is how it ought to be. Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself; hey, isn’t this easy?”

“And you’ve got a smile, that can light up this whole town.”

Felix found Changbin first, and saw him standing with a drink in his hand; his gaze over Chris.

“I haven’t seen it in a while since she brought you down.” Chris’s mind wandered to that day when he saw Bin with Jiwoo. “You say you’re fine, I know you better than that. Hey, what you doing with a girl like that?”

“She wears high heels, I wear sneakers. She’s Cheer Captain and I’m on the bleachers, dreaming about the day when you wake up and find that what you’re looking for has been here the whole time.”

“If you could see that I’m the one who understands you. Been here all along.” Jisung sang.

“So, why can’t you see? You belong with me.” Felix sang.

“Standing by and waiting at your backdoor, all this time how could you not know, baby?” Chris sang.

Changbin choked on his soda.

“You belong with me.”

“You belong with me.” Jisung sang, backing up.

Hyunjin and Minho saw them from the corner of the stage; a smile on their faces.

“Oh, I remember you driving to my house, in the middle of the night. I’m the one who makes you laugh when you know you’re ‘bout to cry.” Changbin and Chris both thought of the night they went to Mcdonalds, in the middle of the night, just because Changbin wanted ice cream and Chris offered to go with him. (Both sleep deprived and with nothing else to do but lay in bed).

“And I know your favorite songs, and you tell me ‘bout your dreams. Think I know where you belong, think I know it’s with me.” Chris thought of “Save Me” from BTS, which was Changbin’s favorite song.

Changbin thought of “Fake Love” from BTS which was Chris’s favorite song.

“Can’t you see that I’m the one who understands you? Been here all along.”

Jisung was the second one to find Changbin, and saw him walking towards the stage.

“So, why can’t you see? You belong with me.” Chris locked eyes with Changbin in time for the next verse. “Standing by and waiting at your backdoor, all this time how could you not know, baby?”

“You belong with me.” Felix and Jisung sang, getting too excited about what was going on. “You belong with me.”

“You belong with me.” Chris sang, finishing the song, his eyes still on Changbin who had come up to the stage by this point. “Have you ever thought just maybe,” Changbin placed a hand over the stage and pushed himself up. “You belong with me?”

Changbin took a step closer to Chan, and without letting him finish the song; he grabbed his tie, pulled him by it and clashed their lips together. In a kiss.

The song wasn’t finished (although it only had one more verse), and everyone was too stunned to speak.

Jisung and Felix began squealing and jumping so fast, their bar stools fell over.

Minho and Hyunjin had begun laughing for some reason; who knows why or to what.

And Chan just stood there; holding onto Changbin’s arms to prevent himself from falling over at the loss of all rational thought.

He was being kissed by Changbin. Like an actual lips touching kiss.

Chris felt like he was in a dream; a dream where Seo Changbin kissed him. And it was the most perfect dream ever.

The sound of his bar stool falling over startled him, and the kiss was cut off. Also, he needed some air on his body.

Their breaths were fast, their eyes meeting each other, Changbin was the first to speak.

“I belong with you, pretty boy.” Chris’s cheeks turned red. “You do know all my favorite songs, you do make me laugh, and I’ll go to you in the middle of the night any time you ask.”

“Chang-”

“I do belong to you, Christopher Bang.”

Chris felt his heart beat faster, his legs began to shake.

“I love you, Chris.” Changbin rested his forehead against Chris’s. “Please, tell me you love me back.”

There was a moment of silence before Chris answered.

“Changbin.” Chris cradled Changbin’s face in his hands, their eyes meeting again. “Binnie; my Binnie.”

Felix and Jisung squealed in the background.

“You belong with me, Binnie.”

The crowd began applauding, Jisung and Felix erupting in unrecognizable screams and squeals. They looked like two fangirls who had just seen their two kdramas protagonists confess to each other.

“I love you, Christopher.”

Chris felt his heart swell at the use of his english name.

“I love you too, Binnie.”

Have you ever thought, just maybe,

You belong with me?

the special note is that this may have a second chapter as a extra. it will depend if i finished writing the other segment. it’s short, but long enough to not fit here. and it has to many modifications (like italics and all that) to put it here like i did with the last one (referring to my other binchan story extra)

keep an eye for the second part, there probably a high chance that it will be posted. (i still wanted to post the story before though)
