Chapter Text
Tim looked around what he was really hoping was a fancy prison cell, or even a guest room, and not Ra’s personal rooms. Although he really doubted it. There was gold everywhere.
The gold was accenting the League of Assassins green and black décor, the sheer amount of gold was surprising though, even for Ra’s. There was actual gold embroidery in the bed sheets. They must have taken at least a year to make. It was possibly supposed to impress him. All of this made the likelihood of this being a guest room, let alone a prison cell, slim to none. Ra's personal symbol being scattered throughout the room was just the gargoyle on top of a skyscraper of shit.
Swallowing he looked away from the bed, nothing there was going to help him out of these cuffs or escaping the LOA. Well, the sheets might work as an impromptu rope to climb down later, but his first priority was the chains.
He glared down at them. He had managed to break the chain between his ankles with some creative leg work and a cloak hanger, but the manacles still had the chains dragging behind him, a worrying tripping hazard but a much bigger issue were that his wrists were still bound together.
The cuffs were too tight to slip his hands out of, even if he dislocated his thumbs, and they weren’t closed with a traditional lock either. Instead, the cuffs were bound together with a chain that was twisted and threaded through itself in a way that he couldn’t even see the ends. With how closely his hands were held together, he couldn’t even reach the chain let alone start to try and find the ends and unweave it.
Tim recognized that his chances of escape were pretty much no, but he wouldn’t give up, no matter what Ra’s did, he wouldn’t stop. Ra's may have essentially won for now, but he wasn’t going down without a fight! He wasn’t some delicate little omega to turn over for the first alpha that looked at him.
It didn’t matter how powerful Ra's was, there was only one alpha Tim would ever willingly mate or even sleep with. Not that the hook at the head of the bed, placed perfectly to hook his bound hands in, would give him much option in the ‘no’ department.
He grimaced as he considered why Ra’s hadn’t shown up yet, even just to gloat. Was Ra’s waiting to tire and weaken Tim before showing up to have an additional upper hand or… Tim shuddered.
Tim had been in his most private nest when Ra’s men knocked him out with some sort of knock out gas because his heat had been due to hit any day. His heat had never been very regular in how long they took to hit so he always had to be prepared for it to show up earlier or later than it should by several days. He could feel the embers of his pre-heat starting to really take seed, he was only a few hours out from his heat now, as he wished he had just worked up the balls to ask Jason to share his heat. This all could have been prevented if Jason had been there. Any amount of knock out gas that could have taken out Jason would have killed Tim, so Ra wouldn’t have risked it.
Tim shook his head, he needed to focus on now, not what could have happened. He just told himself if-when, when he escaped he was going into Jason’s favorite den and setting up a nest until Jason agreed to be mates. But to get there, he had to escape Ra’s chambers first.
He had just started searching under the furniture again when he heard an explosion. Looking towards the direction of the sound he bit his lip. That was… promising actually. Ra was unlikely to blow up his own buildings. Unfortunately, whoever was attacking Ra’s base wouldn’t know he was here. Or needing a rescue. At least Ra's would be distracted for a while, but he still had to get himself free.
It couldn’t be a Bat, he had told all of them he was going dark for a week and a half so he couldn’t expect them to even realize he was gone, let alone that Ra’s had him.
Crossing his arms, he looked away from the window, cursing himself for clinging onto false hope by tricking himself into thinking he smelled Jason on the wind. Jason had several very important business meeting this week, there’s no way he would have dropped all that just to randomly visit Nara.
“Pretty Bird?”
Turning to the window he was shocked to see Jason balanced on the window frame. Tim found himself actually gapping at Jason, how had he known Tim was here?
Jason’s brow furrowed, “Tim? Are you hurt?”
Quickly shaking his head Tim held up his hands, “Just bound. I haven’t seen anyone since I woke up here.”
A low growl came from Jason as he noticed the chains, “All right Pretty Bird, we need to move fast so we don’t have time to unwind that now. You’ll have to put your arms around my neck for now, so we can get to our meet up point with Kori. Roy’s currently laying down cover fire in the West Wing as a distraction but as soon as Ra’s figures out my packs here we’ll lose our advantage.”
Tim quickly hurried over and looped his arms around Jason’s neck and one of his huge shoulders more than willing to play the damsel in distress in this situation. That Jason was the rescuing knight was a lot easier to handle than if it had been Dick or gods forgive him, Damian.
Jason snarled, noticing the chains hanging from the manacles still around Tim’s ankles but put it out of mind for now. He could be outraged at what Ra's had done to his- the, the Pretty Bird once Tim was safe.
