Chapter Text
Izuku was anxious as he waited outside Madam President's office. He was pulled out of his morning training when she called for a meeting with him. Sure, he had debriefings with her at the end of the week, either about his missions or training, but this was different. It was Wednesday and she rarely interacted with him outside of those debriefings. She claimed he was too much of a hassle to be around and left it to his handlers to deal with his "problematic attitude".
Considering all of that, this had to be about a mission, an urgent one at that. He got a little excited thinking about it. He hadn't been on a mission in months and he was itching to leave the facilities.
"Hey little bird!"
Izuku whipped his head around so fast he nearly got whiplash. A bright smile reserved for his brother appeared on his face.
"Kei!" Izuku said as he practically jumped into Keigo's arms. They always saw each other in their weekly debriefings, but it was nice seeing him outside of the Hawks persona he had to put on around the president. "Why are you here? Were you called for the meeting as well?"
"Yeah. I was in the middle of taking down a gang of villains when they called me, so I'm guessing it's urgent," Keigo said. Izuku nodded as he pulled back from the hug.
"I figured as much."
They sat down for a little while, catching up with each other, till the door opened to the office opened. Taking that as their cue, they left Keigo and Izuku outside the door, and walked in as Hawks and Nexus. There, sitting at her desk, was Madam President.
"Hawks, Nexus, please take a seat," she said. They did as they were told. "I'm going to skip the pleasantries for now, this is urgent. We've had one of our informants alert us of a group that is recruiting villains. They're calling themselves the 'League of Villains'."
"That's a stupid name," interrupted Izuku. Madam President shot him a warning glare.
"I don't have time for your attitude Nexus. What part of 'this is urgent' do you not understand?"
Izuku simply rolled his eyes as she continued.
"These villains know that All Might is to start working at UA as a teacher this year. This information hasn't been released to the public yet, so we know that there is a leak among one of the hero students. Specifically, the students of class 1-A. They were the only class to receive acceptance letters from All Might himself. According to our informant, the leader of the League of Villains is aiming to kill All Might."
Keigo raised an eyebrow at that statement.
"So, a bunch of nobodies are trying to kill All Might? The number one hero? Pretty sure he can handle his own, what's this gotta do with us?" he asked.
"Our informant told us that the leader doesn't seem to be the mastermind behind the group. He was talking about a 'sensei', and we have reason to believe that this 'sensei' is none other than All For One."
Izuku and Keigo's eyes widened. They'd been informed about All For One and his battle with All Might. That information was never released to the public, All Might had the commission erase all evidence of the battle. According to All Might, All For One was dead, but then again, they never found his body.
"Now that you two understand the situation we're in, I'm going to give you your assignments. Hawks, you are to keep an ear to the ground, find out any information you can about the League of Villains. If they are to gain power and attention from the public, you are to go undercover and infiltrate their group. Understood?"
"Yes ma'am," Keigo replied.
"Nexus, your assignment is to attend UA as a student-"
"WHAT?!" Izuku exclaimed. The president leaned over her desk and slapped him across the face.
"YOU ARE NOT TO INTERUPT ME WHILE I AM GIVING YOU AN ASSIGNMENT."
Izuku crossed his arms as she continued.
"As I was saying, you are to attend UA as a student and figure out who the leak is. We are under the assumption that the League of Villains will attempt to attack the school in order to get to All Might. In case of emergency, you are to fight alongside the pro heroes and protect the students. I'm throwing you a bone and allowing you to present yourself as a Hero Public Safety Commission hero in training, but you are not to speak of this mission outside of our debriefings. Principal Nedzu has been informed of your mission as well, and has already opened up a spot in the class for you. If the other students are to question your placement, you are to say that the commission wants you to gain a new perspective of the hero world. Understood?"
"Yeah whatever..." Izuku grumbled. The president slapped him again.
"Speak up and answer properly brat, I won't repeat myself again." They glared at each other for a second until he eventually caved.
"Yes ma'am," he said.
"Very well then," she said as she handed them both a folder. "Here are the files you'll need for your missions. I expect your best work, there is no room for mistakes when it comes to dealing with All For One. Dismissed."
Once they left, Keigo got permission from Izuku's handlers to take him out for the day. He took the boy out to eat at his favorite restaurant with private rooms.
"That bitch! She knows I don't want to be around some hero wannabes. She's definitely doing this on purpose to punish me since she knows I can take whatever punishments my handlers throw at me."
Keigo smirked at him.
"I mean, you are a little shit. I'm honestly shocked she didn't do anything like this sooner. I mean imagine if she sent you off to some normal middle school."
Izuku shuddered at the thought as Keigo continued.
"Look at the bright side little bird. They're getting you an apartment close to UA right? You'll be away from the facilities! Isn't that what you've wanted for ages? I would've killed to be in your shoes when I was your age."
Izuku thought about it. It wasn't the worst, but it was definitely not how he imagined he'd be getting away from the commission.
"I don't know. I just don't think I'll be able to be around some kids that don't know a thing about the real world."
Keigo gave him a look.
"You can't call them kids when they're the same age as you."
Izuku glared at him playfully.
"I know that. It's still annoying."
"Never said it was going to be easy. Just... try and make the best of it, okay?" Keigo asked.
Izuku looked down at the table for a second as he contemplated it.
"Yeah fine, I'll try."
Keigo smiled at him as he grabbed another piece of chicken.
"Great! Now let's eat, the food's getting cold."
