Work Text:

"Hey, Jameson, you're a time traveler, right?" Marvin asked and looked at Jameson. "I am, yes. Why are you asking?" Jameson raised a brow, confused. "Have you ever traveled to the end of time?" Marvin asked with curiosity. Jameson's eyes widened; he placed down his tea and looked Marvin dead in the eyes. "The end of time... is nothing for you to ever see."

Marvin's question hung in the air, creating palpable tension in Jameson's study. The flickering candlelight cast shadows on the shelves filled with ancient tomes and relics from bygone eras. Jameson's eyes, usually filled with quiet wisdom, betrayed a hint of apprehension.

"Why do you ask about the end of time, Marvin?" Jameson inquired, his voice edged with caution.

Marvin, the master of magic, leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with insatiable curiosity that bordered on recklessness. "I've often wondered what lies beyond the boundaries of time, at the very end. Have you ventured there? Witnessed the conclusion of all things?"

Jameson sighed, his gaze fixed on the swirling patterns of steam rising from his untouched tea. "The end of time is not a place for the living. It's a void, a nothingness that defies comprehension. It's a place where even time itself ceases to exist."

Marvin, undeterred, pressed on, "But surely, as a time traveler, you must have glimpsed it. What is there to fear?"

Jameson's expression darkened, and he spoke with gravity that sent shivers through Marvin's spine. "The end of time is a place of oblivion. It devours everything that enters it, erasing existence itself. It's not a sight for mortal eyes, and I would advise against seeking it."

Unfazed, Marvin leaned back, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "But what if there's something beyond the nothingness? What if there's a secret, a truth waiting to be uncovered?"

Jameson's stern expression softened, revealing a hint of sorrow. "Some truths are better left undiscovered, Marvin. The end of time holds no answers, only an eternal silence that swallows all who dare to venture."

As the words hung in the air, a somber realization settled within Jameson. The allure of the unknown clashed with the wisdom of restraint, and he felt a growing urgency. The ticking clock in Jameson's study seemed to echo the inexorable march of moments, each second carrying the weight of a timeless secret that now demanded action.

A deep concern etched across Jameson's face as he recognized the spark of determination in Marvin's eyes. He understood that his brother's curiosity was turning into a perilous obsession, one that needed to be curtailed before it led to irreversible consequences. Jameson couldn't allow Marvin to venture into the perilous realm of the end of time.

"Marvin," Jameson spoke with a firmness that hadn't been present before, "you mustn't pursue this. The end of time is not a destination for mortals. It's a perilous void, and the consequences of meddling with it are too great. I implore you to abandon this quest before it's too late."

Marvin, caught off guard by the gravity in Jameson's voice, hesitated for a moment. The weight of his curiosity clashed with the sincerity in his brother's plea. The room seemed to hold its breath as the two brothers stood at the crossroads, one urging restraint, the other teetering on the precipice of the unknown.
