Work Text:

As the group came home, they decided that the day should come to an end. After a long day of recording and laughing, everyone could agree that they were exhausted. All of them went to their bedrooms, Larry and Tanner laughing their asses off on their way to their conjoined rooms, while Nick stretched his arms on his way to his room.

Isaac couldn't help but glance at Nick, who looked ever so tired. He tried to speak, but Nick passed the corner, and into his room. Isaac continued on to go to the kitchen, reaching in cupboards and shelves, searching for anything to quench his hunger. He thought about poor Nick, overworking himself on improving his videos and editing them to flawlessness. Just thinking about all that work made Isaac realize how much sleep Nick probably gets on the daily. Working his ass off all night and then falling asleep at un-holy hours just to wake up a few hours later and start again.

. . .

After closing his bedroom door, Nick stretched once more as a yawn formed in his throat. 'Great, another night of editing,' and without a second thought, he sat on his chair, turning on his computer groggily. He knew this would never end, I mean, it's a routine now. He examined his room, looking for a bottle of alcohol to help him somewhat focus on the job at hand. 'Ah! There it is...' He reached for the bottle sitting under his desk. He took his plastic cup and filled it nearly halfway before pouring some leftover juice from his travel cup. Before he could take a sip, he hears a knock on his door.

"Uh-Um, yeah? Come in." Nick blurted out, taking a swish of his drink then setting it on his desk. He'd turn his chair towards the door, waiting for it to open.

"Hey..." Isaac peeked through the door, cracking it open while holding something in his other hand. He glanced around Nick's room for a few seconds before turning back to him.

"What do you want?" Nick blabbled, sounding too harsh for himself.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude.." He apologized, gesturing for Isaac to come in.

"It's alright, I mean it's been a pretty long day for all of us. I brought you...food?" He walked over to Nick, setting down the container on his desk for him to open.

Nick glanced at the container, reaching over to open the mysterious so called food his friend brought him. He opened it, and there came a small whiff of carrot...Carrot...? It was carrot cake! Nick laughed.

"What's with the cake?" Nick poked at the cake, spooning some frosting onto his finger to taste. Surprisingly, it was really good. He glanced over to Isaac, who stood there smiling.

"So, is it good?" Isaac fidgeted with his hands, waiting for a response as Nick proceeded to take small amounts of frosting off of the cake.

"It's actually really good! Did you make it?" Nick pecked at the cake with his fingers, distinguishing the slightly sweet taste of carrot. He's guessing it's a sponge cake for the way it's so springy.

Isaac clapped his hands together in satisfaction. "Yeah! Um, I made it myself, I just thought that you might want something not too sweet but also healthy....ish?" He laughed slightly, watching Nick enjoy his gift contentedly.

Isaac was now hesitant about asking Nick his question... He's too hard on himself, it reminds Isaac of a crazy workaholic who is so focused on working they don't think about their health. He sighed briefly, then proceeded to crouch down on the ground in front of Nick, trying to make it easier to confront him.

"What's up?" Nick stopped digging into the cake, and now turning his vision towards Isaac, who sat on his knees with an unsure face.

"Listen, Nick...I think that you should take a break. I just hate seeing you pile up all this work and waste your sleep on it. Can I ask you to maybe take it slow and relax this week? We'll let you sleep in and loosen up, I promise." Isaac put his hands in a praying position, along with a pouty face.

"I would love to but I really just need to finish this last bit. I'm okay, seriously. I can handle this without needing to unwind... Is this what the cake was about?" He glanced back at the torn apart cake, sighing.

"I know you're stressed, Nick. Even when I knocked on your door your tone was too cruel for your ownself." He scooted towards Nick, now putting a hand on his knee to help himself off the ground.

"Isaac, I appreciate the concerns but I can handle my work." He took a sip of his drink, slightly making a bitter face at the absurd amount of vodka he poured.

Isaac signalled his hand forward with his palm up in front of Nick. He waited as Nick stared sulkily at his hand. Isaac groaned, "Nick, come on." He stretched his fingers, waiting.

Nick sighed, taking a quick swish of his drink again before finally grabbing onto Isaac's hand. Just as Nick was going to speak, he was pulled into Isaac, as his arms wrapped around him. Muffled by Isaac's giant body, he listened to Isaac's heart beat. Calm and steady. It felt almost reassuring. His shoulders slowly started to relax. He felt somewhat calmer? He couldn't understand the feeling, but it felt nice. He hesitated, but began to lift his arms cautiously around Isaac's back, embracing the warmth he was taken into.

"Can we stay like this?" Isaac spoke softly, squeezing Nick a little bit more, their body heat creating a perfect temperature for each other.

Nick nodded, melting into Isaac's figure.

They stood there for a few minutes, and minutes felt like hours. They didn't want to move away from this feeling ever. Their slow breaths mixed with their paced heart beat made both of them feel drowsy.

"I'm going to move us towards your bed, okay?" Isaac stated before slowly walking over to Nick's bed, still glued together as he set them both onto the mattress.

Nick felt relieved, and somewhat loved, but couldn't define it. He hasn't had this nice of a hug in a long time, it almost felt unreal to him. Isaac lifted a hand under Nick's shirt, just slowly rubbing his back.

"Is this alright?" Isaac asked before continuing any further, his hands stopping in motion.

"Yeah... It's perfect." Nick mumbled through the fabric of Isaac's tank top, now laying besides him. The lingering scent of Isaac's cologne filled Nick's senses, it smelled just as he pictured him to smell. He felt his heart flutter and his face burning up, too disoriented to make up for what was happening.

Isaac continued to rub Nick's back, starting from his shoulders and down his spine. He urged himself on to kiss Nick's forehead, but maybe it would be too much. He slightly tugged on Nick's hips, pulling him in closer to feel each of their bodies touch.

Nick was too shy to look at Isaac, ashamed of his actions beforehand. He noticed how much he really needed this after all. After a minute of contemplation, he mustered up enough confidence to look at Isaac, in which he was already looking at him with his pretty, half-lidded eyes, ones that could make you fall into a trance.

"Are you comfy?" Isaac smiled softly, moving his arm into Nick's hair. He'd slowly move his way through Nick's soft, black hair. Feeling how silky it was made his hand feel almost numb to the touch.

Nick's face flushed a soft pink tint, returning a smile back to Isaac. This isn't what friends do, right? There's definitely more going on here, he thought. He locked eyes with Isaac, and he couldn't take them off of him. His dark brown eyes, his perfect skin, everything about him just looked so much more appealing at this moment. He looked down slightly, the dim light making Isaac's lips look so soft and pretty. He turned away from those thoughts quickly, as he noticed Isaac was eyeing his every move. His face turned to a bright red, trying to close his eyes to deceive him.

"Nick, look at me." Isaac spoke quietly. He rubbed Nick's hair still, watching as Nick rose his face to his. He admired Nick's facial features, his glossy skin and eyes almost shimmered in the light. He too couldn't help but stare at Nick's lips. His dark tinted red lips gleamed, almost ethereal to him.

Leaning towards Nick, he took his hand and brushed Nick's lips, watching to see if Nick approved.

Nick didn't mind, sliding his hand up Isaac's neck and to the back of his shiny brunette hair while feeling Isaac's breath hit his face, mere inches away from each other's lips touching.

Isaac brought his hand to Nick's chin, lifting it up and then meeting lips, kissing him softly as Nick exchanged affectionism. He trailed his hand to Nick's back, bringing him in as close as he could, feeling their two chests meet.

Nick felt the urge to cry, not out of sadness, but out of happiness. He hugged his arms around Isaac, crossing legs with his. He could finally define what this feeling really was.

He felt safe, and he felt loved.

Isaac broke out of the kiss, brushing away the string of saliva from each of their mouths. He stared at Nick, his eyes watered down with tears.

"Hey, it's okay. You're safe with me, it's okay." He reassured Nick, holding him as tight as he could, continuing to massage his back in a small circular motion.

Nick felt so overwhelmed by all the tender care he was given by Isaac. Tears slowly dropped down his eyes, and onto the mattress. He didn't care. He wanted to cherish this moment forever. He dug his head up out of Isaac's chest, and looked up at him. He couldn't resist not wanting to see that beautiful face that lay in front of him.

Isaac smiled gingerly. He put his head lower, kissing Nick's forehead. He stayed there for a few seconds, embracing all the warmth from him.

Nick couldn't help but squeeze Isaac's back, trying to contain the last of his tears. He could feel his eyes slowly drooping. All of his worries of finishing his work had been flushed away. All he cared for right now was for Isaac to stay with him.

Isaac's eyes started closing slowly, his eyes locked onto Nick's still. He noticed Nick's tired expression, and massaged his back once more.

"Goodnight." Isaac uttered softly, his eyes shutting closed as he felt the wave of exhaustion hit him once again.

"Thanks, Isaac." Nick murmured under his breath before loosening his grip on Isaac's back, and now closing his weary eyes. "And goodnight." He drifted off, feeling his body calmer than ever.
