Chapter Text
chapter 1: epilogue
On the first of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth simultaneously. This was unusual in the sense that none of these women had shown any sign of pregnancy at the start of the day.
Eccentric billionaire, Tom Marvolo Riddle went around the world tyring to adopt these children. He got 7. He trained these kids to be agile, strong, intelligent, and capable of murder. Using their powers to help fight crime and bring justice to the world. He named them, The Black Academy.
1. Bellatrix
Born with the power to turn into a tentacled monster and trained to insanity by her father, she learnt only destruction and chaos, no kindness was reserved by her soul, crushed to oblivion. There was no room for it in her heart, all weakness must be destroyed, words relayed to her by her father’s influence. One day, one of her brothers tried to reason with her but the madness within wouldn’t allow her to listen to his pleas. She lashed out, and even his strength wasn’t enough to save him. from that day, her father drugged her despite her screaming for him to stop, begging that she would be good, that she would learn to control it. He didn’t listen, cruelly drugging his daughter to be a docile mindless creature he kept contained.
2. Evan
Born with the power to curve any weapon to hit any target of his choosing, enrolled in dozens of competitions, forced to contend, and win without breaking a sweat. His father didn’t need the money, repeating the phrase “It’s good for the ego,” winning without trying as he saw the other kids weep, hands stained with blood from hours of practice. It made him sick so he would hold his noes in the air and saunter by them, reminding himself he was better, and they were nothing. Though, he never felt it was true. Starting as a cop, he later, he became a vigilante, seeking his own form of justice and putting himself in dangerous situations to feel something, anything to remind himself he was better, better than anyone else. Braver than them too. After the life-threatening missions his father would send him on as a kid, what was once a dangerous job he loathed and was forced to do, became a comfort, a therapy to him. If he could free the world of scum, he thought, why not do it?
3. Andromeda
Born with the power to rumour anyone into doing anything she wanted them to. She was cunning, brave and beautiful, and the world bent to her will. She went on to become a fine actress, revered by the states, and then the world. She had a picture-perfect family with her famous model husband Patrick, and her adorable daughter, Nymphadora. That was, until the divorce. Her husband found her trying to rumour her daughter to sleep and he’d swiftly taken her away and assumed full custody. Now she spends most days trying to get her daughter back, taking all mandatory therapy sessions assigned to her and never skipping a single hearing.
4. Sirius
Sirius was born with the power to commune with the dead. After one too many times being locked in the basement by his father and having to hear the voices of the dead plead and beg him to save them, he turned to drugs. First to leave the house at 16, he stayed with his best friend James. James saved his life and kept him sober as much as he could. Forcing him to detox and lay off the heavy drugs, holding him as he cried about the voices and supporting his every step in recovery. The one solace in his horrid life and the only one to help him escape the nightmare that came with living in the black household.
5. Regulus
Regulus was born with the power to jump through space and time; Space, he was rather brilliant at, but time? Regulus could never figure that out. It ended up being his downfall, little Reg, lost in time forever, never to return. His wall sized portrait hung above the mantle, always looking down on his siblings as he did when he still lived in that house, a reminder of what happens to those who don’t follow the cautions of tom riddle.
6. Peter
Born with the power of strength, mentally, emotionally, and physically, in every way. Often referred to as the glue of the family. But that’s the thing about glue, its never sticky enough. One day, when he was 15 and his sister was crying and clutching her head in pain, he tried to talk to her. It didn’t end well, and lost control. He didn’t blame her though, he could never blame her, but she would never know. Now he watches over this siblings, praying that nothing will hurt them. Wishes that never get fulfilled.
1. Narcissa
Narcissa was born without power, she was born powerless. Her father secretly held out hope for her to one day develop an ability like her siblings. It never came. She never rumoured someone into doing what she wanted, nor did she commune with the dead, she couldn’t even lift something heavy. One day, her father gave up on her, knowing she’d never be special. She tried to forget, did everything in her power just to exist in the same room as her siblings. The only ones who’d ever try to talk to her were Peter and Regulus, and of course only those two were completely and utterly out of her reach now. So, she figured ‘why not, ’ she wrote a book. One revealing every secret of her ‘beloved’ family, and it made them despise her.
