Decelis' Lovers Handbook

Summary:

Even among supernatural creatures, love is still the strongest force of all.

A collection of stories to know more about the couples at Decelis' Academy before, during, and after the events of "Vow Eternity To Me".

Chapter 3: KJay.

Notes:

Along with author sourcherry, we couldn't stop talking and talking about the different stories about how each couple met, how they fell in love, and their lives after VETM. We've been working on this together for such a long time that we've grown so attached to it, that it took us another long time to feel like it's ready to be published.

I know crossover ships aren't really the most popular ones, especially nowadays, but they've always have a special place in our hearts. We really hope you enjoy this not-so-short collection of stories on very uncommon ships. Not only rare pairings, but also some of the non-canon pairings from the groups.

Happy reading!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: The angel and the vampire: a love at first sight tale.

Chapter Text

Congratulations! It’s with great pleasure I inform you of your acceptance to the boarding program of Decelis Academy. You have been given this opportunity in recognition of your personal and scholastic achievements.

We look forward to having you at our academy this upcoming year.

Jake’s fifth acceptance letter comes on a busy Monday, and he watches the paper burn to ashes between his fingers. Despite his excitement to move to Korea and meet again with his friends, his father had been clear. He's going there to enhance his pyrokinetic abilities and aid Heeseung in protecting the prince.

Regardless of how silly it is for him to be a student at his age, he's glad his friends enrolled as well because he knows it wouldn't be easy for him to survive taking classes when he's over 100 years old. It’s been a while since they met in Korea, so it’ll be nice to be around each other again.

At Decelis, not a lot of people know about Jake's real status in vampire society, as he's heir to the duke of Brisbane. It's not a secret either, but the vampire will have more than enough gossip around him just by being a foreign student.

“Sir, your father requests your presence at your family’s summer home,” Jake questions his father’s demand to his assistant, and the only explanation he gets is: “There’s an important guest.”

“That sounds like a him problem,” Jake sighs, just as he ignores an incoming call from his father. “Kevin, could you please tell my father I’m not interested in taking over his royal duties before it’s strictly necessary.”

“I understand that, milord,” Kevin begins, “but this isn’t a royal calling type of schedule, your summer home was rented for a photoshoot. Your father accepted under the condition that someone from the family is present to ensure the house’s integrity.”

“Why can’t he just call my brother?”

Kevin hesitates for a second, pretending not to be amused, “Your older brother lost a game of rock, paper, scissors, so he’s on his way to Europe to close some royal business.”

Jake pinches the bridge of his nose to hide his smile. His family is truly something else. It’s best to keep a strong façade when it comes to other nobles and purebloods—even if most of the time Jake wouldn’t hurt a fly, much less another creature. Among themselves, they don’t care enough to pretend.

“Fine, let’s get going then.”

Kevin is a warlock, which is convenient, as he opens a portal that takes them to the Sim’s villa. It stretches along the beach with a view of the great barrier reef. As much as they’re not big on showcasing their wealth, their summer house is a beautiful Mediterranean-style villa that has been in his family for many centuries. It’s a place cherished by the Sims, so he’s still confused why his father would allow an entire crew to waltz in and do a photoshoot.

“They’ve started already," Kevin announces, and Jake hums.

Walking into the main bathroom, they find it filled with lights, clothing racks, makeup, accessories, reflectors, and people.

"Who are they photographing again, hyung?" Jake wonders if he should've asked earlier to avoid any kind of awkwardness.

Kevin opens his mouth to reply when someone emerges from the jacuzzi.

Jake's eyes slowly widen until he's staring, almost unblinking and rude, at the blonde boy who's dripping wet, holding onto the edge of the tub with dainty hands.

The white shirt he's wearing is completely see-through at the moment, and Jake shouldn't be checking out the defined muscles under it, but he can't help it. It's not only his body, his face and features look like they have been carved by the angels themselves—stunning eyes, high button nose, sharp jaw, full lips, and pretty freckles on peachy skin.

He's the most beautiful creature Jake has ever laid his eyes upon.

"Felix-ssi, we'll touch up your makeup and try one more time, okay?" the photographer instructs, and the model nods.

"Idol Lee Felix, a nephilim," Kevin's late explanation fades into white noise.

A shiver shakes Felix's body as he carefully stands up. He’s dripping, droplets running down his figure. Jake feels possessed, compelled to shield him from the cold, so he grabs a nearby towel and dashes toward the boy.

Felix whips his head toward Jake as soon as the towel drapes over his shoulders. The idol looks up at the stranger. It's obvious he's not part of his staff, he would've noticed such a handsome person before, especially if he's so attentive, so Felix blinks at him in confusion.

The moment their eyes meet, it's like the whole world shifts—just like it happens in dramas—a romantic song plays in the background, time slows down; then for a few seconds, there is no one else around.

It's only them in the entire universe.

Felix's so distracted by Jake's existence that he slips, but the vampire quickly wraps his arms around him. A comfortable heat spreads from the vampire's palms to his cold body. The nephilim's hands firmly grip Jake's jacket, so they can only stay still, unsure what to do next.

"You okay?" Jake asks, his voice is deep and smooth.

"Yeah, thanks," Felix's voice is even deeper, but it doesn't seem to put Jake off; in fact, the vampire smiles at him. "Could you… help me get to my makeup team?"

"For sure."

After Jake walks Felix to his makeup chair, the vampire apologizes for acting so rashly. The idol shakes his head, thanking him for being so kind.

"I'm sorry to ask this now, but who are you?"

"I'm Jake Sim," the vampire bows his head a bit. "I didn't mean to interrupt the session, Felix-ssi."

Felix straightens up, bowing almost 90 degrees, "Oh, Lord Sim, I am very grateful to you for letting us do this photoshoot."

"No, no, please, don't call me that!" Jake shakes his hands in front of himself. "Just… Jake is fine."

"Alright," Felix blushes a little before another shiver makes his teeth chatter a bit. "Ugh, I hope noona hurries up with the touch-ups."

"May I?" Jake puts his palms up, and Felix confusedly nods. Even through the thick towel material, the nephilim can feel the heat radiating from the vampire's hands.

Felix sweetly grins up at him, "Thank you, Jake."

Jake shakes his head, "It's nothing, really," after a short minute, he speaks again. "Are you busy? After you finish shooting?"

Jake's never so bold, yet Felix's never so open, so it makes sense when the two meet halfway.

The nephilim smiles, "I'm not busy, why?"

Walking around after a nice dinner at a restaurant Felix absolutely overdressed for is relaxing. Jake is someone easy to talk to, with a broad smile and charming laughter. The vampire isn't like the ones Felix met in the King's court. Jake’s humble, caring, and so easy to like, easy to love.

Minutes slip unnoticed, the night almost reaching its peak, as the two walk along the beach. The wind blows, making waves crash around their feet, and Jake takes his jacket off after Felix blows air into his hands.

"Won't you get cold?"

Fire sparks from Jake's palm, all the way up to his fingers, "I can handle a little cold."

Felix admires the dancing flames, illuminating and casting shadows on Jake's face, and the nephilim's heart thumps loudly.

Nephilims are said to be emotionless, unable to feel things other creatures do, but Felix feels, and he feels a lot. Each time his hand brushes against Jake's, as they stroll around the pier, he feels a tug to his heartstrings.

Without even touching him, Jake warms him up, like he's home after a tiring day.

Jake has to force himself to pretend he's not already envisioning his entire life with Felix. Vampires are known to be a rather lewd species—very into sexual exploration with numberless partners—which is why he sometimes has a hard time fitting in. Since he was little, Jake has longed to find a soulmate as werewolves do.

Aside from sire-fledgling bonds or marriages, vampires no longer create a tangible connection. Rather, they are famous for their one-night stands and no strings attached situations; then, there is Jake with his heart on his sleeve.

When they're back inside the main house in the villa, Felix's first thought is that he should go before his heart subdues his brain, more than it already has, and he does something stupid, like kissing Jake, or worse .

“I should go, I’ll call my manager to fetch me.” He bows to Jake. “Thank you for tonight, Jake-yah."

Felix fishes his phone out and turns to leave, but Jake grabs his wrist, it’s delicate and slightly unsure, such a soft touch that Felix’s heart soars.

The nephilim faces the vampire again. Jake’s eyes avoid him, with pink cheeks, almost an ironic look for a vampire. He’s unfairly adorable—how is Felix supposed to defend himself from such a dangerous vampire?

Jake wets his lips, tongue poking one of his fangs, “You can stay, if you want. You still have the beach shooting tomorrow, right?”

It’s tempting. Both the proposal and Jake’s lips.

Felix smiles, one of his eyebrows rising slightly, before Jake realizes what his invitation seemed to imply.

His hands fly up, waving uselessly in the air, as Jake stutters, “Not like that! I will sleep in a different room!” the vampire sighs, his fingers covering his face now. “There are enough of those, if you want, I can even move to the opposite wing of the villa… but I swear it’s not like that!"

Even if it were, Felix wouldn't really mind.

The vampire’s blush reaches his ears now. Felix can feel how tense he is, as if he’s holding back from something. Jake’s eyes flit to Felix’s lips. It doesn’t go unnoticed, but the vampire immediately seems to scold himself for it. It’s sweet how much he considers Felix, so the nephilim’s beyond endeared by him. He has never felt so strongly about anyone before.

For once, Felix allows his heart to rule over his head.

“Hey,” the nephilim steps closer, “it’s okay,” he says as he places his hands on Jake’s face, standing so close their height difference actually shows. “Show me your room?”

Jake hesitates, tilting his head towards one of Felix's hands, his lips brushing the skin of his palm, “Please, I don’t—you don’t have to.”

“I want to,” Felix confirms, tiptoeing just so their mouths nearly touch. A playful fingertip slips inside Jake's mouth, running down an elongated fang that Jake hadn’t noticed popped out. “I might be wrong, but this… and your red eyes mean I’m not the only one?”

Part of Jake wants to crawl into a hole and never come out. He has never reacted in such a way to anyone. He’s parched, unable to control such basic things as his eyes or his fangs. He looks down, taking a deep breath to get rid of his vampiric features. “I’m so sorry, I—”

Felix tilts his head back up and kisses him, effectively keeping the vampire from suffering any further. The kiss starts slow, deep, and languid, they're enjoying the thrilling sensation of feeling each other’s lips for the first time.

Jake doesn’t know what to do with his hands. They hover helplessly near Felix's sides. Thankfully, the nephilim enjoys leading him, taking his wrists, and guiding him to wrap his arms around his waist.

As soon as Felix hugs his neck, it all turns a bit desperate. A shy kiss turns into a full-on making-out session as they walk into the living room. It’s so easy to lose themselves, so easy to lose their clothes, so easy to reach Jake’s bedroom amidst demanding lips and soft gasps.

The bed dips under Jake’s weight, and Felix sits on his hips. They stare at each other, out of breath, mouths kiss-swollen. For a moment, Jake stares at Felix like he’s a puppy waiting for his master’s instructions. His eyes are big and sparkly as he looks up from under his eyelashes, a soft pout to his spit-wet lips. It makes things to the nephilim’s head—to have such an attractive boy ready to follow his every command.

Felix’s slightly intoxicated with power. No one can blame him though, he has spent his whole life under men, who thought they were doing something by being annoyingly dominant just because he’s rather petite and pretty.

Felix traces the vampire’s abs, digging his nails into the ridges, and Jake moans. His pupils are blown by how hot Felix looks on top of him, enjoying himself by using him for his own pleasure. He would love to be Felix’s plaything for the rest of his life, being ordered around and giving the nephilim all the pleasure he craved.

“Do you have lube?” Felix huskily asks.

“Yeah,” Jake points at his nightstand.

Felix pecks him, opening the drawer. He picks up the little bottle, along with a condom. His mind’s hazy with desire, but he’s still an idol and there are things that he can’t ignore, protection being one of them. No matter how hard he tries to not think of possible scandals, or making Jake a subject of delusional fans' hate or the thought of Jake hating to keep whatever they have a secret for Felix’s and his own sake is hard. Gently, Jake pulls him back, like he could feel Felix’s thinking too much, and kisses him over and over. Peppers his face with them.

“You’re an angel, so dreamy—” Jake mumbles, caressing Felix’s back, up and down. “Wait, is that okay for me to say? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, but it's true! You're gorgeous—”

Felix’s so whipped for the vampire that he giggles, nodding. He can’t remember the last time he laughed during sex, actually having a good time, not just a stress-relief method.

It's so good, Jake is so good at obeying him. Felix gives him the bottle of lube, and whispers in Jake's ear exactly what he wants, fearless of being denied what he craves. He seems more worked up by getting praise for the things he does right, whining into Felix's collarbones. They’re almost at their limit by the time Jake fucks three fingers into Felix, the nephilim circling his hips back, relishing how nice the vampire’s long fingers rub his walls.

“I’m good,” Felix rasps out, “will you be a good boy and fuck hyung?”

Jake has to make a conscious effort not to come on the spot, especially because he is , indeed, a good boy. Felix bites his bottom lip, rutting down, just so Jake’s cock slips between his ass cheeks. The vampire understands then why they say angels are worse than demons—Felix has to come from heaven to be able to get him so riled up with so little.

With a shaky hand, Jake lines up with Felix’s hole, and the two moan loudly with each inch that pushes into the nephilim’s lithe body. Jake forces his fangs back, fighting the urge to bite Felix, because he’s sure the nephilim does not want to learn how complicated it is to cover a vampire’s bite mark. Jake’s also sure Felix doesn’t want him drinking his angelic blood without permission.

“Prove me how much of a good boy you are, Jake-ah,” Felix taunts, bumping noses with him.

Jake tightly holds his waist, rolling them over, accidentally slipping out. Felix doubles over, hands tangling in the vampire’s hair, as he thrusts back into him. Felix can’t stop the praises and compliments from falling from his lips. Getting railed so deep and so good, as he pulls on the vampire’s hair, he’s getting drunk on it. How he wishes to feel Jake’s dick entirely, but it might be something he’ll long for forever if he gets a taste.

A small angle shift has Felix’s thighs shaking, legs winding around Jake’s waist, as he throws his head back onto the pillows. He pulls on the sheets, feeling the coil in his stomach tightening. Jake grips his hip bones with one hand, pushing him down on his cock, while the other starts stroking his leaking member, and Felix racks his nails down his broad back.

Fuck,” Felix kisses him senseless, “fuck, yeah, you’re fucking hyung so good,” he praises, “I’m gonna—Jake—”

His orgasm crashes on him. Felix’s mouth drops in a silent scream, eyebrows furrow, as he trembles through it. White lands on Jake’s lean stomach, and the rest drips down between his fingers. Sweetly, Jake helps him ride it out, stroking his side with one hand, slowly grinding inside Felix. He brings his hand to his lips, the one that caught most of Felix’s cum, and laps it up. It’s such a lewd sigh Felix feels his dick twitch.

“You did so well, baby, you deserve a reward,” Felix runs his thumb over the vampire’s bottom lip, “go ahead, come in hyung.”

It only takes two shallow thrusts for him to reach his own limit, whimpering against the nephilim’s neck, “Felix, Felix—hyung,” his hips stutter, load after load filling the condom, and Felix thinks it’s kind of a waste he doesn’t get to taste it like Jake had done to him.

They stay like that, tangled up and catching their breaths, until they start to feel sticky. Jake gives him a heads-up that he’ll pull out, and Felix inhales sharply. He watches as the vampire ties up the condom, throwing it away, and he feels so empty now that he’s gone. Jake kisses it better though, easily distracting him with his pillowy lips.

“I’ll run you a bath,” the vampire doesn’t wait for his answer before he’s jumping on one foot and slipping a pair of sweatpants on. He shakes his way into them so cutely, smiling at Felix, with his hair an absolute mess from how the nephilim handled it.

Felix watches it all, with bright cheeks and a racing heart.

Oh no.

After they clean up, and Jake hands him a set of spare clothes, so the idol can sleep in something more comfortable than the fancy clothes Jake retrieved from the hallway, they sit on the bed. Felix checks his phone, it's 3:31 am, and types a text to his manager to pick him up as soon as he wakes up.

“Can I ask why you chose to become an idol?” Jake questions, out of the blue.

“Well, didn’t you know that nephilims make the perfect idols?” the blonde only half-jokes. “Angels can’t feel human emotions, Jake, and most of their offspring get that trait. It’s uncommon for us to experience feelings like the rest of the creatures, so we can keep the idols-never-date act up without messing up.”

“And you?” Jake stares straight into Felix’s eyes. “Did you inherit that too?”

“I… so far, I think I did.”

Fucking liar, Felix thinks to himself.

The vampire nods, pushing his hair back, and settles in bed. Felix thinks that's his way of telling him off, so he asks how to get to the guest room.

“It’s across the hall, up the stairs—” Jake’s the epitome of a puppy with his wide eyes, puffy lips, and hair a mess. Oh, Felix can feel things, and Jake makes him feel them all. “Where are you going?”

“To my room?” Felix replies, halfway out of the bed.

For the shy introverted boy that he is, Jake can be quite dauntless. He pulls the nephilim back down, close to his body, before he throws the covers over him too. A soft kiss falls on his shoulder blade, and Felix’s heart is in his throat. They both know the nephilim can leave if he wants, but he stays put, placing his hands on top of Jake’s.

Stay,” Jake mumbles, rubbing his cheek on his nape, squeezing him lovingly, “please…”

Felix hums in agreement, not trusting his voice not to break, then closes his eyes.

The sun is almost up when Felix hears his phone vibrate on the nightstand. His manager is awake, and he can pick the idol from the villa. Jake's arms are so warm around him, he feels soft and pliant, pouting in his sleep. For a vampire, he’s a deep sleeper, so it’s easy for Felix to pry his hands off and slip out of bed.

There's a searing pain lodged in his chest as he pushes Jake's hair back, so he can place a kiss on his forehead. The vampire shifts, a cute smile tugging at his lips now. Felix pecks them one final time, then leaves everything back in its place.

With a last look back, he walks out the front door.

“Felix-ah, we have to come back in a few hours for the shoot.”

“Let’s move it to Perth.”

“Perth? That’s on the opposite side of the country, kid,” his manager crosses his arms in front of his chest. “We already paid for this location, it’d be a waste not to use it.”

Felix’s eyes shine a pale blue, proving he’s not asking this time, “I’ll call Chris hyung and let him know we’re going to Perth.”

Vampires don’t really sleep at night, so it takes Jake by surprise when he wakes almost at 12pm from clicking and moving sounds. The first thing he sees is the empty spot next to him, cold and clear of anything except for the folded clothes he lent to Felix the previous night. His phone’s screen lights up with a text from Kevin.

Kevin Kim aka dad’s slave

9:13 am

Milord, Felix Lee's team decided to move the shooting to a different location,

there’s no need for you to stay at the villa anymore.

I have notified your father.

The cleaning staff will be there by midday.

Let me know when you need me to portal you home.

Jake drops his phone next to him, staring at the ceiling. Felix's scent lingers on the pillows.

The vampire drags his feet as he walks around the house, aware that there is nothing left behind for him—only the growing feeling of missing the nephilim.

“Sir, if I may…”

“No, you may not ,” Jake backtalks, and the warlock sighs.

“Even so,” Kevin insists, “why don’t you talk to Felix-ssi?”

“What is there to talk about?” It's not very Jake to be so sarcastic, but he’s been doing his best at trying to get over another one night stand. “He left me, no text or note. I can take a hint, hyung.”

Jake knew it from the start, Felix even told him he couldn’t feel like other creatures did, so it’d be pretty stupid of him to hold onto something that wasn’t meant to be. They fucked, then they went onto their merry way.

Even though it’s been almost a month, Jake still dreams of Felix. Of his smiles and holding the nephilim’s hand on his, and how it felt to have him in his arms.

Escaping the nephilim is complicated in their home country where he’s the idol on every billboard and magazine. Felix’s beautiful face haunts wherever he goes, so he’s been packing his schedules with royal duties and settling everything to leave early for Korea. He needs a change of pace and scenario.

“Sir, you haven’t watched Felix-ssi’s latest interview, have you?”

“What interview, Kevin hyung?” Jake’s so tired, he decides to give in to his father’s assistant for a change. “Enlighten me.”

Kevin rolls his eyes, searching for something on his phone. He hands it over to the vampire, whose arms are crossed in front of his chest. He’s frowning and pouting like a child.

On the screen, Jake sees Felix on a famous Australian talk show, chatting away about his recent works and sharing his future plans, but one question seems to take him by surprise.

“There were photos of you with the youngest son of the Duke of Brisbane during your stay there,” the host explains, “you went out to have dinner? Did you two get along?”

“As you know, the villa for my last cover page photoshoot belongs to the duke, and he was nice enough to let us in,” Felix professionally answers. “It’s gorgeous, I loved it, and lord Jake made sure to make us feel at home.”

“Ever since those photos came out, the handsome young heir seems to be in everyone's mouth,” the man tries to poke at the idol, but the blonde laughs along. “Do you keep in touch?”

“Well, we’re both busy, but I’ll visit again if I have the chance,” Felix’s smile falters for a bit, “only if he’d have me, of course, he told me it’s a special place for his family.”

“Talking about special…” the host can’t let that opportunity escape. “Is there anyone special in your life? There’s been a lot of rumors after you dropped Winter Falls out of nowhere. Can we, please, listen to a bit of it live?”

“Right now?” Felix plays it off.

“Right now!”

“Okay,” Felix agrees, clearing his throat. “I loved you, as you did, I loved you. Will the season where I held you in my arms ever return? Please, fall before I fall— well, my voice isn't in the best condition, but I hope that’s enough.”

“No! That was amazing, but I must ask, were you thinking of someone when you wrote it?”

Felix shakes his head, dismissing it all.

“I just think, sir, that I could open a portal to New York, where Felix-ssi’s concert is happening,” Kevin nonchalantly comments, carefully taking his phone away from the stunned Jake, “and if you run into him, it could just be a huge coincidence.”

“Coincidences don’t exist, hyung,” Jake simply states then his eyes sparkle with renewed determination.

“I have to let you go now, but it’s too hard,” Felix hates the tears that overflow, running down his cheeks, as he sings to the crowd of fans in front of him.

He knows the fancams and tweets are about to drop, theories and theories of why he cried on stage, and the nephilim can only push forward and keep singing. It’s the first time he performs this song live, he thought he was ready, it’s been so long since he left Jake in Australia, asleep and without anything to justify his departure. It’s like they never happened—as it should be.

The pureblood heir to the duke, and the nephilim rising idol.

When have a vampire and an angel ever fallen for each other?

Despite what Felix tells himself about not being able to feel , the distance only makes his heart grow fonder of Jake. Many have tried to come close to him, yet the nephilim instantly turns them down. He doesn’t want anyone else touching his body, it’s only Jake for him, and if he loses that too, they will be nothing but a memory for him to keep.

“Goodbye, everyone! See you next time! The staff told me it’s raining, so please, please, please cover yourselves and get home safe!” the idol announces to the mic as the concert ends. His voice cracks with the aftermath of crying.

The fans chant a bunch of yes and thank you at him, so he happily waves at them, until he has to leave the stage. His staff hurries him into the dressing room, telling him to wear something warm because of the weather. He wipes his face in a rush, a bit of eyeliner still smudged around his eyes and his lip tint all over his mouth, but he doesn’t care. If he looks as trashy as he feels, it’s what he deserves for being stupid.

They lead him out the back, ushering him into one of the black vans, even as his fans scream his name. He stops to turn around, screaming “please, go home!” but familiar red eyes stun him in place. To his right, his manager is talking his ear off, holding an umbrella, and saying something about the rain getting worse, but a toothy smile makes his eyes well up with tears again.

“Felix!” his manager hollers, but he’s already running.

The rain’s icy on his skin, and his long hair pokes his eyes. He harshly brushes it off, looking around, as fans yell and fawn over him. It’s a mess—all of it. His heart, his mind, his behavior, yet he can’t blame anyone but himself for it. He might be an idol, a damn good at that, but he’s not a heartless nephilim like he used to pride himself in thinking he was.

He’s so gone for Jake that he’s daydreaming of him.

His tears mix with the raindrops as he tilts his face up, defeated, and his manager rushes to get him.

On their way back to the hotel, Felix doesn’t even hear his manager’s reprimand. He’s hugging himself out of reflex, the cold from standing in the rain and getting soaked seeping all the way to his bones. His staff, except for his manager, walk ahead of him as they all get out of the van.

It’s still pouring, so the streets are almost empty. No fans, no paparazzi, no one to capture Felix looking like shit.

His manager holds the door to the hotel’s hall open for him. He’s about to step in when someone calls his name.

“Lee Felix!”

It would take a fool not to pick up the thick Australian accent. Whipping around, Felix zeroes on Jake, his beautiful vampire grinning at him again.

Felix looks over at his manager, who shrugs, “You’ll go to him anyways, so make it quick.”

Felix runs across the parking lot, not minding the rain anymore, only to halt a few feet from Jake, who’s equally as soaking.

“What are you doing here?”

“My favorite idol had a concert tonight, and I happened to be in town,” Jake pulls out the banner Felix’s fans handed out to show their support. “He cried though.”

“He must have a good reason, don’t you think?” Felix’s glad the raindrops hide away his tears again.

“Well, he did say nephilims are perfect to be idols because they can’t feel anything, so why was he crying?”

Felix smiles, giving up already, “Maybe he’s a liar.”

“I don’t want him to lie, not to the people that love him unconditionally,” Jake carefully steps closer, “because I’m not going to fuck him only for him to leave afterward. Not when I would prefer waking up to his adorable face every morning, forever.”

Jake.”

“You don’t have to give up anything for me, I can wait,” the vampire reassures, gently cupping the nephilim’s face. “Felix, I’d do anything for you, but I don’t want to scare you off again. I don’t want to be too much again.”

“You’re not too much!” Felix throws his arms around Jake’s neck, hugging him tightly. “I still have places to be, people to meet, and a fandom to keep. Wouldn’t you like someone who was less of a handful?”

“Lixie, you’re all I want, and as long as you’re mine, I don’t care about the rest,” despite his words, Jake looks like a lost puppy in the rain. “Please, stay with me, don’t run away again. I won’t follow if that’s what you want, but if you stay , I’m never letting you go.”

Felix realizes he hasn’t been feeling cold anymore, not since Jake embraced him. He’s not sure whether it’s Jake’s powers, or just his presence itself that makes him feel that way, but he hides his face in the vampire’s chest. Jake brushes his long bangs back, pressing his lips to the nephilim’s forehead. The warmth spreads all over him.

Felix feels at home again, and Jake tilts his head up to kiss him softly.

“I’ll stay under one condition,” Felix mumbles on Jake’s lips, who hums, “I want a public relationship.”

Jake pretends to ponder then grins down at him, “You got yourself a deal, hyung.”

After that, they spend the entire winter together. As per Felix’s request, they announce their relationship to his fans the following month. Although Jake has a noble background and believes himself to be a great boyfriend, there’s a small part of the fandom that often expresses that Felix deserves better—especially as one of the nephilim exceptions that embraces his human half.

Felix never hides he's dating Jake, but the media is quick to assume it'll be just a fling. Not only because nephilims and vampires aren't a common match, but also because both have complicated backgrounds. The couple really works on their communication, so they really don’t care for whatever the entire world has to say about them. They're going to stay together, no matter what.

“Will you be okay without me for a few weeks?” Felix playfully pokes his boyfriend’s cheek. The couple’s currently standing in front of the Decelis Academy’s main doors. Students from the different factions whisper and point at Felix, only Felix, so Jake wraps his arm around the nephilim’s waist.

“Will you be okay without my dick for a few weeks, angel?” Jake counters and the nephilim wrinkles his nose. The vampire kisses his cheek, giggling. “I’ll be just fine, don’t worry, besides… I got a note from Heeseung hyung.”

“Jake hyung, hurry! Classes are about to start!” Sunoo waves at him, and Jake waves back.

“What kind of note?” Felix questions, arching an eyebrow.

“Something about the vampire prince and the academy,” Jake pecks him. “I think we’ll have an interesting year.”

Felix rolls his eyes, so Jake bites his neck, drawing blood. Angel blood is delicious, but Jake would never harm Felix by drinking too much, so he just gets a small taste. The nephilim gasps, fisting the front of the vampire’s shirt, “I have a press conference tomorrow!”

“Just so you don’t forget you have me waiting,” Jake grins, licking the wound on Felix’s neck, then the corner of his mouth. He’s a bit of a messy eater, but Felix doesn’t seem to mind.

“I could never,” Felix looks up at him with sparkly eyes, rubbing his thumb on Jake’s cheek to help clean his boyfriend’s mess. “I’ll be back soon,” he promises.

This time, Jake isn’t afraid to let him go, because Felix will always come back home.
