You're in the kitchen humming

Summary:

When Enid walked down the isle, Wednesday cried. It was a soft thing, tears rolling down her face, not even caring to wipe them.

Enid wiped her tears, smiling at Wednesday like she hung the stars in the sky just for her.

Wednesday smiled then. Bright and wide and full of love.

Work Text:

I spy with my little tired eye

Tiny as a firefly

A pebble that we picked up last July

Wednesday was going insane and she knew that in the deepest darkest trenches of her mind that it was Enid's fault.

She knew that Enid was her soulmate the second she met her. She knew that she would be in Enid's life. Whether, that'd be just a friend or more. She just knew.

Her parents were none the wiser thank Satan, but the evil curse that takes every Addams by the throught finally grasped her.

From that day onward Wednesday made sure not to get too close. But, she didn't take into account that Enid was a persistent creature who, for some reason, really wanted to be her friend.

Down deep inside your pocket

We almost forgot it

Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?

When they had a falling out, while Wednesday was curled up in front of the window. She found herself wanting to cry. And it was right then and there that she decided to be a better person for Enid.

Enid noticed how different Wednesday was acting. But she never said anything. Too scared that the girl would distance herself if she did.

So she just simply smiled.

Sometimes, Wednesday would make Enid hot chocolate when she was feeling down. Just the way she liked it. Whipped cream, with a splash of cinnamon and peppermint.

Enid always wondered where she got those extra ingredients.

Whenever Enid was running low on nail polish, there'd always be a new fresh bottle, the exact same color, or something different on occasion. Enid always says that she didn't have to do that, but the smaller girl waves her off. Telling her she was already in town anyway.

They said the end is coming

Everyone's up to something

I find myself running home to your sweet nothings

When they finally got together, it was like the universe exploded with excitement.

Enid and Wednesday. Wednesday and Enid. Like it was always meant to be.

Outside, there're push and shoving

You're in the kitchen humming

All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing

As the two soulmates grew older, and moved in together. It was calm. Like a still lake at midnight.

They had this little thing they both liked to do. Sometimes, their schedules wouldn't match up, so they decided to write each other little notes on sticky notes.

You could find these notes everywhere around the house. Sometimes, they would say just a simple "I love you." Other times, there'd be drawings.

Each and every note had a special place in both of the girls' hearts.

Wednesday also had a habit of writing poetry for Enid every now again. And every time, Enid would give Wednesday a soft smile and a kiss. Then they would just stand there, in eachothers arms with just the sounds of their hearts beating in sync.

On the way home

I wrote a poem

You say, "What a mind."

This happens all the time

Nobody understood how those two worked. It was an anomaly. And nobody definitely didn't expect how soft their love was.

Enid was practically the sun. Constantly smiling, laughing, and just overall happy. Whilst Wednesday was the moon. The calm coolness that loves in silence.

'Cause they said the end was coming

Everyone's up to something

I find myself running home to your sweet nothings

When Enid walked down the isle, Wednesday cried. It was a soft thing, tears rolling down her face, not even caring to wipe them.

Enid wiped her tears, smiling at Wednesday like she hung the stars in the sky just for her.

Wednesday smiled then. Bright and wide and full of love.

Enid told Wednesday during their honeymoon that she wanted to kiss her dimple so badly at that moment, but she knew she could wait a little longer. She had the rest of her life to kiss that dimple after all.

Outside, they're push and shoving

You're in the kitchen humming

All that you ever wanted from me was nothing

It was no surprise to Wednesday when Enid picked up a random kid from the street and proclaimed that this is our kid now.

Wednesday simply sighed. But Enid could tell that her wife loved the idea.

Thus started a tradition of Enid and Wednesday taking in children and taking care of them. And these kids loved their moms to no end.

All of their children were grateful to have been taken in by the Addams. Most of the kids were either thrown out or ran away from their abusive homes.

Industry disrupters and soul deconstructors

And smooth-talking hucksters out glad-handing each other

And the voices that implore, "You should be doing more"

To you, I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of it

As the lovers grew old. Their hair turning grey, and wrinkles appearing on skin.

The sticky notes were all over the walls. Their children learning of their moms old tradition started to leave notes for them as they grew older.

The couple made sure to keep their notes on the walls. Making sure they stayed.

Anytime someone new came over to visit, they asked about the notes.

Wednesday and Enid don't write as many notes anymore. They are both retired and are basically together all the time now. But they like to leave little notes if one of them wakes up earlier.

Their new tradition, however, is that they sit on the porch swing that Wednesday made for them when they were younger and watched the sunrise and sunset. Sometimes, the kids joined them if they were there.

They said the end is coming

Everyone's up to something

I found myself running home to your sweet nothings

The lover's were both in the late ninety's, and they both knew that today was their last day on this planet.

So when Wednesday woke up, she kissed her wife on the nose before getting up to make breakfast. She called all of her children and told them that it was their time to go.

Just like her parents did.

Enid found Wednesday humming to herself while cooking.

They spent the rest of their last day in calmness. Just like they always have. They didn't speak either. Only stared and got lost in eachothers eyes.

And as they day ended, as they watched the last sunrise. They lay down on their bed.

Enid crying softly, hugging Wednesday with all the strength she had left. While Wednesday whispered sweet nothings to her wife.

Enids last words to Wednesday were, "I love you so much, my dear, and I hope that in every lifetime we have, we are together."

And Wednesday's words to Enid, "I know that we will be mio sol, because there is not a life I ever want to have without you."

Wednesday and Enid lay there in a lovers embrace. Their synced hearts slowed until there was nothing but the sound of the wind.

Outside, there're push and shoving

You're in the kitchen humming

All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing

Notes:

I genuinely don't even know where this come from I was randomly listening to Sweet Nothing and it made me think of Wednesday and Enid. You could tell I had a different idea in the beginning. But I honestly don't feel like changing it.

I could just imagine that Wednesday was the one singing instead of Taylor and I just had to write.

It was supposed to be a cute little story about the soft love between the two but my fingers wouldn't stop and then boom next thing I know I'm crying.

Sigh. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this! Make sure to comment I'm a whore for validation. :)
