Work Text:
Kuran’s pale corpse lay there in the middle of the morgue. He was dead to the world around him. The gunshot that took him away from his loved ones left a barely there wound on top of his chest. Above the place that held his heart. His body was washed and cleaned of any leftover blood and dirt before their arrival.
Yuuki was openly weeping on his half naked body. She started crying even before his face was revealed. Now the fabric covering him was pushed to his hips, threateningly close to his lower body. Zero thought Yuuki was too distraught to care for Kuran’s modesty. She was palming his face and dragging her hands on his body while talking about the things Kuran could never do anymore. She had regrets of losing him in such a young age before they could marry and have children. And she kept talking to the body of the deceased man.
Zero’s eye twitched from barely concealed anger. Though he wasn’t sure if it was entirely for Kuran himself or the nonsense his girlfriend kept spouting. He knew the two weren’t planning marriage or getting engaged anytime soon. He even remembers how Kuran was trying to distance himself from Yuuki lately. She was the one who couldn’t let go of the man who was trying to break up with him. And now she was yapping about her delusions in front of him and the person that let them in to see Kuran.
Zero watched as her hands were wandering a little to close to the fabric covering his genitals. He couldn’t stop himself from stepping up and holding her wrist to stop its journey. He put on a sorrow filled look and steered her body away from the table. “Maybe you shouldn’t be here Yuuki. Clearly this is too much for you to handle. I can’t stand seeing you like this.” He didn’t say any lies there.
“Zero… But if I leave, I’ll never see him again…” She held onto Zero’s shirt to cry in his arms some more. “What do I do now…” She was sobbing more quietly now. But Zero didn’t have time to console her anymore. He had things to do concerning Kuran’s state.
“Yuuki, why don’t you go out now? I’m sure your dad would take you home. I have to stay here a little longer.” He tried to soothe the girl into separating herself from him and leading her to the door. She tried to resist but he insisted for her to leave.
It was the guy who let them in and just him looking at the corpse on the table now. “Can I have a moment alone with him?” He tried to put as much emotion in his voice and expression to get his way. And the guy left him with an understanding nod.
Zero came closer to Kuran’s face and leaned over it. “Now listen, I know you’re awake. Stop faking it.”
“Yeah, no shit.” Kuran’s eyes opened to reveal his red irises almost covered by his blown dark pupils. He must be very hungry without getting to eat or drink for days. Zero smirked and leaned down to peck his lips. Kuran grabbed him by the neck and didn’t let go until he bit Zero’s lips and drawn the blood he craved so much. But the little opening was healing so fast and the blood wasn’t enough to satiate his hunger. Kuran was about to dive for his neck before Zero grabbed his hair to hold him back. Kuran groaned with dissatisfaction. “Zero, come on…”
Zero watched as Kuran’s body was trying to lift up from the table and reach him. But Zero’s free hand was holding it down by pressing on the wound on his heart. “Couldn’t you hold back your healing anymore than this? It’s almost gone. People could have realized.” He dragged his hand down to follow the paths Yuuki’s hands were taking earlier. He was gentle in a way she hadn’t been in her desperation. And a little tent could be seen to slowly rise from the covered fabric. Kuran’s silky hair in his grasp was trying to pull away in the vampire’s desperation for blood. “Are you so eager to see me?” He laughed softly with an affectionate tone.
“Zero… Zero, please, don’t tease me. I don’t know how much my powers could last on the humans here. I really need you.”
Seeing Kuran so helpless and agitated tugged at his heart and he couldn’t deny his lover anymore. “Of course, I didn’t mean to tease. Take what you want, Kaname.” He pulled him up by his torso and guided his head to reach his neck better. The sound Kuran made while taking the warm blood in his mouth was obscene. It didn’t belong to a morgue filled with other corpses. Zero kept himself in control for the sake of his lover.
Once this charade was over he could finally keep Kuran for himself. Maybe he should address him by his name more often though. He seemed to get more aroused whenever Zero called him with his first name. A weakness Zero exploited only when he really wanted Kuran to melt in his arms.
“You’ll need to explain yourself to the others once were back. What were you thinking getting killed in front of humans? We had to arrange so many things in such short notice thanks to you.” Zero was both ranting his anger and caressing the tangled strands of hair under his palm. Kuran gulped some more before releasing his fangs from the shallow wound he made on his haste to feed. Before answering he licked around it in apology.
“I was caught unaware too, you know. I don’t like pretending to be dead anymore than you all.” He kept averting his now chocolate brown eyes from the silver gray ones of Zero. “Did you have to bring Yuuki here for this? I thought she was really going to grope me for a second there.” Kuran's face was turning red but Zero couldn’t be sure if it was from embarrassment or from the result of his feeding just now. He liked seeing it no matter.
Zero dragged his lips on Kuran’s red cheeks with small pecks here and there. He wasn’t used to having so much control over the older vampire and wanted to take advantage of every second of it. Although it would be better to continue after getting out of here and reaching their warm bed back at Kuran’s home.
“She wouldn’t shut up about wanting to see you one last time. I could barely hold myself from ripping her away from you. I want to kiss everywhere she tainted with her touch…” Zero allowed himself to only leave a lingering kiss on top of the now healed wound on his heart. Despite his words he knew it wasn’t the time or the place for this.
“At least it saved me from her drama. But now I have to move somewhere people won’t recognize me…” Kuran grabbed his chin and gently lifted it up from its place on his bare chest. “What about you?” It was asked with worry and teary eyes that wasn’t the norm for the prideful man in front of him.
“Do you have to ask? You can’t get rid of me so easily. I’ve endured worst things than this to give up on you now.” Zero’s admission sparked such an honest joy in Kuran’s face he hadn’t seen before that Zero couldn’t stop himself from reflecting it back himself.
“Why, Zero, if I hadn’t known you, I would suspect you were growing fond of me with such words out of your mouth.” Kuran teased with his words and the pad of his fingers over Zero’s lips.
“I’ve grown more than fond of you and you know it. Who’s the one teasing who, now?” Zero grabbed the hand in front of him and kissed the fingers tenderly.
“I think it’s about time you take me out of here, Zero. Or I wouldn’t be responsible for the consequences.” Kuran’s eyes shone with promised pleasure.
“Your car awaits you, my dear.” Kuran’s eyes narrowed with surprise in hearing the endearment. “But enough people have seen you naked today so wait here while I bring your clothes.” Zero gave him a soft kiss on the mouth and left for the door.
“Don’t be delusional, love.” Zero stopped in his track and turned around with surprise too. “All the people here were charmed and didn’t see anything they shouldn’t have. It was more Yuuki’s fault than anything that I’m even seen half naked at all.” Kuran grinned and wrapped himself with the white fabric properly before sitting on the side of the table. His bare legs from the knee could be seen swinging in a playful manner but rather taunting in Zero’s point of view.
“I’m glad you were as considerate to keep it to yourself. You wouldn’t want me to get jealous now, trust me.” For even a glimpse of Kuran's skin was a treasure in itself, for it was given freely only to Zero.
A burning heat engulfed Kuran’s body from the inside out at the way he was watched so intensely. “Hurry up, Zero. I can’t wait anymore.” His chocolate eyes took on a red tint again to Zero’s pleasure as proved by his own reddish eyes.
“As you wish, Kaname.”
It was a miracle they could keep their hands to themselves until they’ve reached home that day.
