Nowhere Left For Us To Go But Heaven

Summary:

In celebration of Richmond wining the whole thing, Keeley, Jamie, and Roy decided to come out to the team leading Colin to learn that he is the only memeber of Richmond that hasn't slept with another Richmond member.

Notes:

I haven't written fanfiction in 4 years but I wanted to put something out there for the end of Ted Lasso. Hope to write more soon but I figured this one would end up getting Jossed tomorrow anyway.

Wrote this quickly so no promises on it being coherent.

Work Text:

It was like a roar of an airplane as the Richmond team flooded into the locker room, filling the room with a hum of excitement as the boys jumped over each other. Dani was currently riding Issac, his legs locked around his waist as he pumped one hand into the air as he tried to pour the champagne into Isaac’s mouth, missing it almost entirely and instead getting his shirt soaked. On the other side of the room Bumbercatch and Sam were practically climbing over each other to be the first in the room. Keeley, Rebecca, and Higgins had already come down and made sure the room was filled with enough champagne to fill the stadium.

“Oi.” A call from behind had everyone pause in the tracks. “Before everyone gets too wasted, got something to announce.” Keeley took Roy’s words as a signal to come over and grab his hand, leaning into his side as she looked up with a smile. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips and the room erupted into cheers. “Keeley and I are officially back together.”

Behind him Jamie shuffled back towards the wall as he watched all of their friends jump over Roy and Keeley. Dani muttered praise in Spanish as Sam started to go off in a rant about true love. He let out a sharp breath that cut the inside of his chest. Not that he was surprised, he knew his teammates were very invested in Keeley and Roy’s relationship, it's not like he wasn’t before too. But now he was just slowly inching backwards wondering if he could escape to the boot room without anyone noticing.

Except Jamie couldn’t get that far before a rough hand gently pulled him forward, giving a slight jerk that he followed forward with trained obedience. “Hey,” Roy said, interrupting their second celebration. Placing his arm around Jamie, pulling him close as he placed a soft but firm kiss on Jamie’s lips. “We’re also dating Jamie.”

That brought a quiet over the room though Jamie could see the smiles on most of his teammate’s faces, but before the cheers could break out across the room Colin let out a cry across the room. “What the fuck!”

“Hey! That’s homophobic!” Jamie fired back, snuggling into Roy’s side. Roy just rolled his eyes but pulled Jamie closer.

“What? No! It can’t be homophobic, I’m gay.” Colin insisted.

“Well then it's biopic.” Jamie said, rolling his eyes.

Keeley leaned over, “Actually, babe, it’s biphobic.”

“Oh, right. That one.”

Colin took a deep breath, he was going to need strength as he reminded himself that he was a strong and capable man (and not a piece of shit). “Since when are you bi? You didn’t mention any of this a few weeks ago.”

Jamie just rolled his eyes, and okay maybe he was spending a lot of time with Roy. “Mate, that’s not really how it works. People are born liking who they like. It's like. I don’t know.” He paused, rubbing his face against Roy’s shoulder, “It's a thing.” Roy gave a small grunt in agreement.

“I guess…” Colin said, suddenly understanding how Isaac felt a few weeks before. “Still, kinda surprised you kept that a secret.”

“Really wasn’t a secret.” Jamie said with a small shrug, “I mean who hasn’t slept with someone in this room.”

“Uh me.” Colin laughed, putting up his arm though his laughter died down a little when he realized he was the only one not raising his hand.

Jan and Richard shared a small but smug smile. Will turned red as he looked up with a small smile at Jamie who gave him a grin and wink. Dani and Van Damme met eyes before Van Damme turned away with his cheeks tinting pink. Dani however just grinned brightly, and Colin vowed to ask him about that later, not that he was interested in gossip. Not now at least when Isaac, who was looking towards the ceiling with a guilty look on his face. “Isaac?! Not you too!” If his voice came out as a squeak he would deny it.

At least Isaac had the balls to look him in the eyes as he said. “Bumbercatch is fit.”

“Bumbercatch!?” Colin had felt betrayed. Of course his best friend slept with the fittest guy on the team. He looked around the room at a very unshocked room. “So everyone has just been sleeping with everyone.”

“It would appear so.” Trent Crimm said, his notebook out as he scribbled something onto the page. Apparently he could write a whole book on the questionable exploits of the Richmond club just as well as a book on their victories.

“You didn’t raise your hand either.” Colin accused. “Who have you been sleeping with?”

Trent went to open his mouth but instead Ted just cut in, “Ah…well that would be me…wouldn’t it? Have been for a while.”

“And me a few times too.” Beard added with a shrug as Ted looked over at him with a smile that Colin really didn’t want to go into.

“I can’t believe this!” Colin wailed. “I just kissed my boyfriend on the pitch and somehow my whole team out gayed me.”

“Do you want to go get your boyfriend to join in the celebration?” Ted asked. “Might make you feel better.”

“Yeah…yeah I do.” Colin said, working his way towards the door. “But we gotta think about telling Oprah all this.” He said before disappearing behind the door.

There was a beat before Keeley turned. “You know that’s not a bad idea.”

“Our photos would be everywhere.” Jamie added with glee.

Roy sighed before kissing each of his partners. “We can talk about that later. Right now we just won the whole fucking thing and I want us to get drunk with champagne and then take you both home and thank you for the best fucking day of my life.” He reached out and grabbed a bottle of champagne from the ice buckets that lined the benches. “To fucking Richmond.”

The boys laughed, grabbing for their own bottle, tilting it up towards Roy’s. “To Richmond.”
