Mizuki always felt odd, being called a dude a girl or anything really made them feel weird. The shoes just did not fit. Why would you try to fit such a normlistic society anyways? Why is everything so classified and why so strictly. It hurts, yet it is no shock, simply a constant inconvienience, it would rise and go down. At home Mizuki would dress however they desired from the cute clothes to trying out street wear all the way to a gucci look alike style. For Mizuki playing dress up in their room was the perfect escape. Mizuki had friends, a lot of them but would never invite them by fear that they'd see all the dresses. After all it wouldn't be expected of someone wearing a male uniform everyday right? Friendships came and left again and again and Mizuki wondered what was the point to show up and be someone you aren't meant to be. Why did living in a society hurt so bad, why was it so tiring, why was it all so pointless in the end.
Standing at the rooftop of their junior high, looking over all the cars, people, houses, buildings from above. Everuthing looked so small, so pointless yet so invasive. The higher you were the wider the view got to see hundreds of people who would most likely judge them. Mizuki had lost faith in making actual friends and spent most of their time alone.
On that same rooftop stood another figure, a man with purple hair and strokes of blue hair. His hair was messy and long,and had the same dead look in his eyes. Filled with boredom, dissapointment, sorrow and so on. Just like Mizuki he saw that same view. The wider the more people would show up and judge. Leaving them all alone again... what a pain.
The boy had been a theater kid, passionated by writing thrilling stories for impatient viewers to be seen. How lovely isn't it? But he saw too big and lost co-stars along the way. He had mind blowing ideas yet no one dared to execute them calling him crazy and mental. To him theses shows were fantastic but no one belived him... were they all so bad? Rui struggled to keep friends by his side being noot good at social interaction. He would overdose on ideas making them almost impossible, he was smart and good with machinery but it wasn't enough to convince people to participate in his shows. Due to it he started making robots and drones to keep himself compagny during long exhausting days of school. He barely had the motivation to go anymore, what was the point?
As they just watched to what seemed to be an almost completely gray sky Mizuki felt a presence behind then and turned to see the guy. He just said "hey", Mizuki took a while then replied also with a "hey". They stood there again without saying a word. The next day the same thing happenned, again and again the two met on the rooftop said hello and didn't speak much. Until one day a pink bow escaped Mizuki's bag due to the wind luckely it didnt fly away because the guy had caught it "That's a pretty bow if yours" his voice didn't seem to be sarcastic so Mizuki replied "yeah, I made it myself". "You like fashion?" He asked and Mizuki nodded. The purple haired asked another question "What's your name?", Mizuki replied "Mizuki Akiyama, you?", and it was hus turn to anserw do he did say "Rui Kamishiro".
It soon became their usual to meet and talk together at lunch and after classes in that rooftop. Occasionaly they would hangout outside of school but that's only if they had the motivation to do so. After sometime they openned up to eachother. Rui was curious about why was Mizuki always alone whenever he saw them. So he opened uo to them first hoping that if he was vunerable towards them maybe they would feel more comfortable openning up to him. He told them about the joy he had making shows to entretain others to out a smile on thier face but that it wasn't working. A show with no actors can't exist and Rui knew that all too well... He tried so hard to find people as determined as he was willing to do thoses plays but at the slight risk no one was willing to take it. And that rumors got out aswell saying that he was a crazy person, a futur directors meant to kill it's actors. Nobody wanted to be close to him. They avoided him like the plague due to thoses rumors that were spread. He then mentionned that it was the reason he turned to robots and drones, learning them so one day they could asist him in shows and play roles as actors.
Mizuki brushed his hair with her finguers while he spoke. Why did it hurt so much to hear that Rui was hurt? "Then I'll learn acting and participate" they quietly said:
"Now now it's ok, after all I'm sure you also have a lot on your plate... I recognised your name when I heard it Akiyama, I heard people's whispers about you" he said after all he did recognise her, people of the thier school kept calling them insults, treating Mizuki so bad after something. Altho Rui did not hear what the event was. He sensed Mizuki's fear when he refferenced the rumors about the. And reassured them that he does not belove anything until its proven.
Mizuki felt like it was only fair to tell him after all it was no secret anymore. "I don't feel like a man nor like a woman. It has been this way for as long as I can remember, my parents were overseas and my sister was never home so I pretty much got to do whatever I wanted at home and dressing however I liked. I had that friend she came to my house one day and saw the clothes I wore at home and got disgusted at me. So much so she stopped talking to me all together. The girl started making rumors about me all troughout elemantairy school. One day I was walking with a drink in middle school and bumped into her which caused a mess on her uniform and made her keep spreading rumors here. In middle school it was even worst and I ended up bullied" they said. Then apologised for saying it but Rui only turned and hugged them. They stayed hugging for some minutes after that as Mizuki teared up a bit when he said
"You will be ok, you're not alone anymore, I'm your friend"
