Chapter Text

You waited for them to knock on your door and you unlocked and opened the door to see who they were. The two of them actually looked close to your age, the taller, like really tall, one had a friendly demeanor about him with almost shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes with a hint of hazel in them. The shorter one had shorter, darker brown hair and green eyes....

"You guys aren't FBI agents are you?" You asked. It got quiet while you waited for their response.

"No we're not." Agent Clapton replied. "My name is Sam and that is my brother Dean, we are hunters."

"Hunters?" You asked wondering what they meant.

"Yeah hunters, we hunt monsters, like vampires, werewolves, and spirits." Dean replied....

"Hey guys!" You called as you ran up to them. They both stopped and looked at you. "I wanna go with you."

"No way," Dean said said turning you down.

"Come on Dean, she has been helpful on the last few cases," Sam said liking the idea of you joining them. Dean thought about it for a moment and sighed.

"Fine, but you need to be careful and listen to everything we say." Dean sighed.

"Alright!" You smiled at them. They both smiled at you and the three of you walked out of the airport. Not knowing what you just got yourself into, but you had a feeling you wouldn't regret it.....

"You think I'm gonna let you two traverse the darkest corners of the country without some back up." You scoffed.....

"I wanna try this, if you'll have me." Dean expressed.

"Ha, ha. You don't even need to ask." You chuckled as you looked up into his shining green eyes that sparkled like emeralds, the only thing you could see reflected in them was you. Then you both leaned in and kissed.....

"I think Dad wants us to pick up where he left off....saving people, hunting things....the family business." Dean expressed...The morning was foggy as the rain settled and mist floated through the air. The tires of the Impala screeched against the slink road as it sped up faster and faster. The Impala made a sharp turn as it barreled towards the front gates of SucroCorp and sped up even faster.....

Suddenly the bay windows shattered blowing the salt circle away. You pushed Melanie down to shield her from the storm of glass shards. Then you two stood back up and you aimed your shotgun around waiting for her to appear....You glared at her as you shot her and made her disappear. She appeared again a few feet away and you tried firing again, but your gun jammed so you tossed it aside and grabbed the iron chain out of the duffel bag. You swung and whipped it at her making her disappear......As Ethan continued to choke you his chest glowed a bright red color. He looked at Eliot and Lila and the stake. "No!" Ethan screamed as he let and lifted you up and wrapped his arm around your neck shielding himself from Eliot and the stake. The room glowed a shade of red from the light emitting from Ethan's chest. And time started to stop. Eliot shouted as he tossed you the stake and the red light consumed you and Ethan....You ran over and broke the sword out of the display case. You held the hilt and walked up behind Joyce and swung slicing her head from her neck. Dean shuttered as her head slid off and rolled across the floor, her body collapsed.....You quickly turned around and swung as hard as you could, Baxter's son ducked as the blade cut something and you heard screeching. So, you focused and thrusted the katana forward and it stabbed the shojo in the chest. For a second it appeared to just float there, until she became visible. She clicked and hissed as she stared at the blade in her chest. Suddenly the blade glowed blue as she screamed hellishly and shattered into misty water and disappeared....You decided to follow her in case something did end up happening. As you, Dean, and Garth followed her to the lobby the chandelier above her head began to fall. You sprinted forward and jumped towards her tackling her out of the way as it crashed to the floor.....

THE ROAD SO FAR....

"There are things much older than souls in Purgatory, and you gulped those in, too." Death explained.....Cass shouted as he shoved Bobby and Dean forward away from him. Cass grunted as he doubled-over trying to hold something back and his body twitched and spasmed...As "Cass" or whatever was now controlling his body stepped forward to attack you, black vein-like threads crawled up the side of his face under his skin, you felt your flight or fight instinct kick in.....

"You need to run now!" Cass shouted as he shoved Bobby and Dean forward away from him. "I-I can't hold them back!"

"Hold who back?" You asked.

"They held on inside me." Cass grunted as he doubled-over trying to hold something back. "Dean....Y/N, they're so strong."

"Who the hell--" Bobby began.

"Leviathan!" Cass yelled as his body twitched and spasmed. You, Dean, and Bobby glanced at each other and back at Cass in shock.....

Suddenly you heard a whooshing sound as a woman appeared between you and "Cass", she had wavy, auburn hair that reached just past her shoulders. You didn't recognize her, but her presence seems familiar for some reason....."Your vessel is breaking, it's too weak to keep you contained." The woman noticed. "You're not much of a threat."

"Neither are you, what little power you have is being used to keep your vessel intact, you don't have the juice to smite us." "Cass" spat as black liquid oozed from his body.

"I may not be able to kill you yet, but I can save them from you." The woman retorted as she held her hand towards "Cass." Suddenly the woman cast a pure, brilliant, almost-ethereal light blinding the three of you. When you opened your eyes both "Cass" and the woman were gone.....

When you got outside the lab you noticed and followed a black trail of ooze and found "Cass" walked into the lake of water that supplied the surrounding towns. As you four ran through the gate and to the lake's edge "Cass" submerged himself under the water's surface. The water was sucked downwards into a black vortex as it rushed and bubbled. Then it burped as the vortex dissipated and hundreds of streams of black ooze spread into different directions and disappeared....

The guard dived out of the way as it busted through the front gates. The car turned again and charged towards the SucroCorp sign in the parking lot as the guard shot at it. Then it crashed through the sign, destroying the thing and parked.....

"But it's like I always say--if you want to win, then you got to be the shark. And a shark's got to eat." Dick spoke over the video.....

As you turned a corner you suddenly came face to face with a man, the man that was with the sludge boys. "L/N." He stated.

"You, son of a--" You growled as you went to attack him. He deftly grabbed your arm.

"Congratulations." He remarked as he twisted your arm snapping the bones in your arm. You cried out as you felt to your knees. "Apparently, you and those Winchesters are competent enough to warrant annihilating. I'd take it as a compliment." He spat as he put a foot on your back and shoved down attempting to break your spine. As you felt your spine crack you heard the sound of a click and a bang as Dean shot the man in the side of the head with his shotgun. His head bounced sideways as he slowly straightened up and kicked you in the stomach across the gravel....Ryan fired causing you to jump as he shot the Leviathan in the head and she took a few steps back stunned. He unloaded the rest of his clip into her pushing her back. You took that chance to chop her head off and kick her head away from her body.....Dean slammed his hand against the wall of the hall and a bright light flooded the room sending all the angels, including Jane and Cass away. You and Sam unshielded your eyes as you looked around.....

"Bobby! Come on! Let's go!" You urged him to move faster.

"Go! Go!" Bobby shouted. Dick fired a few shots off as you slammed the door shut and Dean sped off.

It was pitch-black outside so the back of the van was dark. You noticed Bobby's hat had fallen off in the commotion and grabbed it.

"Hey, Bobby here's you--" You began say as you noticed a bullet hole in his hat and he was laying on the floor of the van not moving. "Bobby?" You quivered as you looked at his head, there was a bullet wound in his forehead. Your heart fell and you were terrified of the scene before you. "Bobby? Bobby!" You cried as you tried to wake him up, but he wasn't responding.....

"Page the neurosurgeon on call. Tell O.R. to put electives on hold." The head nurse told another nurse as they carted Bobby through the double-doors leading into the E.R. You and the boys followed right behind them......

You could feel your heart hurting and breaking again as tears pooled in your eyes. "And when it's your time...go." The boys lit a fire over some coal, the three of you looked at Bobby sadly. This would really be the last time you would see him. "Here's to...running into you guys on the other side. Only...not too soon. All right?" Bobby smiled gently and lovingly at the three of you. Then Dean stared at the flask in his hands before gently tossing it onto burning coals. As the flask began to melt you, Sam, and Dean looked at Bobby and watched him glow orange as he slowly melted away with the flask. He didn't seem like he was in pain though, he actually seemed, happy, relieved, at peace. He kept smiling at the three of you until he completely disappeared and the room went dark. You and the boys looked at each other with tears in your eyes....

When you and the boys got to Jenny's house you ran up to her apartment and the boys pounded on the door, then Dean kicked it open to find Jenny leaning over her kitchen sink coughing up blood.....Emma hissed as she put pressure against your throat widening the cut. Dean looked between you and Emma, and you both knew what he had to do. You grabbed the blade of her knife with your hand and pulled it away from your neck, gritting your teeth in pain as it cut your hand. Then a bullet fired and Emma collapsed on the floor dead......

"Hey." Ryan called after him as you two sprinted past trees.

"Stop!" You yelled. The guy gasped and cried as he ran through the trees, he was a nimble little b*stard that was for sure, but he tripped over some roots and fell onto the ground.

"Ahh! Please don't hurt me." The guy cried. As you and Ryan approached him you both thrown backwards into the leaves and brush covering the ground. As you two got up you saw a woman standing between you and the thief. She had wavy, auburn hair that reached just past her shoulders, and you swore you saw her before. Then it hit you--She was the woman who saved you, Dean, and Bobby when the Leviathans first took control of Cass' body. She was more than that though, she was Jane, the angel or whatever she was that made contact with you in your dreams. The same Jane you were supposedly a vessel for.

"You're--Jane?" You gasped.

"It's been a long time, Y/N. Sorry for not contacting you for so long. It's taken me much longer than I thought to get acclimated to this body." Jane admitted.

"Wait, you know her? Is she another friend of yours?" Ryan asked as he glanced between you and Jane.

"It's complicated, but she's an angel." You answered. "I think." You murmured that last part under your breath.

"Oh, great." Ryan sighed as you two stood up. "Who or what are you?" Ryan asked the boy on the ground. He didn't even look older than eighteen.

"I'm a...K-Kevin Tran." Kevin whimpered as he remained on the ground. "I'm in advanced placement. P-p-p-p-please don't kill me."

"You can relax, I'm here to protect you." Jane assured him as she lifted him off the ground. "He won't give up the tablet, ever since you, Sam, and Dean broke it free. It's been ingrained in this boy to find and protect this Word of God." Jane shared.

"Why?" You wondered.

"This Kevin Tran is a prophet and the only one capable of translating the tablet." Jane revealed.....

"And that's what the Word of God is?" You supposed.

"One of them, yes." Cass nodded......

Kevin unzipped the bag and pulled out the pieces of the tablet. As he fitted them together like pieces of a puzzle they reattached themselves. "It's writing." Kevin noted as he looked at it.

"Yeah, we know that, we just don't know what it says." Ryan mumbled.

"It's about Leviathan." Kevin shared.

"Does it mention anything about killing them?" You asked......

"Now, when we freaks die, where do we go? Not Heaven, not Hell, so?" The Alpha vampire asked.

"Purgatory?" You answered, half-guessed.

"Purgatory? Purgatory's real?" Dean questioned......

"It's like the backside of your worst nightmares. It's all blood and bone and darkness. Filled with the bodies and souls of all things hungry, sharp and nasty." Bobby explained.

"Monsters?" Sam asked.

"It's monster land. According to this, it goes by many names, most of which I can't pronounce...but I'm thinking you know Purgatory." Bobby supposed.

"Purgatory?" Dean questioned....

""Leviathan cannot be slain but by a bone of a righteous mortal washed in the three bloods of the fallen." For some reason that seemed really familiar to you, like you've seen or heard something like that before. Then it hit you--Suddenly Kate flickered away before appearing right in front of you. She put her hands on your head before you could react. As the world around you faded you could hear Sam and Dean's voices echoing in the distance, calling your name. Images, voices, and visions flashed through your mind both familiar and strange--You stabbing someone--a man--with a spike made of bone--Now that you had a closer look at him, he seemed familiar look you'd seen him before. Then you remembered--That man in the vision was Dick.

""Cut off the head, and the body will founder."" You began....Cass smiled as he pulled out an empty vial. He gently squeezed it and blood seemed to magically appear in it, and he handed it to Dean....The Alpha sat down in his chair and set a glass goblet on his plate. Then he used his disturbingly long nail to cut open his wrist and he dripped his blood into the glass.....Sam murmured as he poured the mixture of blood on the sharpened bone. You guys excepted something to happen, like thunder or lightning, or maybe some rumbling at least, but there was nothing.....

"We will find you, and we will kill you." You seethed as you leaned close to the car window.

"Come on, Y/N. I can't be killed." Dick scoffed.

"You look into my eyes, you son of a b*tch and tell me I'm not going to be the one to stab you dead." You spat. Dick looked at you hard, then his smile faltered and he frowned.

"That's some conviction." Dick laughed. "You'd really crush it on the motivational circuit."

"I don't need to convince you, I know I'll be the one to kill you." You hissed. "Don't die before I kill you, Dick." You growled before walking away back up the stairs into the building.....

"It's like I told you before Dick." You smirked as you pulled the weapon out of your jacket. Cass came up behind Dick and held him while you stabbed Dick in the neck. "I would be the one who would stab you dead." Dick gagged and groaned as he began choking on his own black ooze. You heard the doors to the lab slam open as Dean ran in looking from you, to Cass, to Dick. Dick raged out of control as he roared and switched between Human and Leviathan. Dick just glared furiously at you like he was trying to burn a hole through your skull. Suddenly a pulse of a thick miasma resonated from within Dick's body and he smirked at you, like he knew something you didn't. It almost seemed like a warning to get away. The miasma kept pulsating as the room began to shake and rumble. Then it sped up, like it was counting down. Then you finally remembered and pieced the visions together--You stabbing Dick with a spike made of bone, and Dean screaming out your name as his hand reached out for you. You reached out but--

"Just trying to calm my nerves for tomorrow." You answered.

"No reason to worry, we'll do it like we always do, we'll win or we'll go out swinging together." Dean assured you.

"I'm antsy about--" You sighed. "I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that something is going to happen. That me, you, and Sam might lose each other. It's sounds stupid I know but--" You admitted as you heard the wood planks creak under Dean's feet as he walked over to you. He put his hands on each side of your hands on the railing and leaned into your back.

"I'd never let anyone or anything take you or Sam away from me. I've almost lost you a few too many times and it isn't going to happen again. I realized a few months ago that I can't stand being without you. So, I guess you're stuck with me, well, forever, until the day we die." Dean expressed as he rested his chin against your hair.

"It's a tough job, but I'm the only one who can do it." You laughed as you smiled lovingly at Dean and he returned the smile with a look and adoration. "It's a promise, together, forever."

"Y/N!" Dean called out grabbing your attention. You looked towards him and out of the corner of your eye you saw Sam, Ryan, and Kevin come into view down the hall. Dick grinned like he had won as the miasma was sucked back into him. A part of you screamed at yourself to get out, to get to Dean. Dean reached his hand out to take yours. You went towards Dean as fast as you could and reached out to grab his hand. You two stared at each other desperate, as fear and uncertainty welled up inside you. Just as you were about to grasp Dean's fingers a rumbling explosion of black ooze consumed you, Dean, and Cass.....

When you opened your eyes you were surrounded by black, not darkness but an icky, black ooze that had the consistency of tar. "Sam? Dean?" You called out, but only your voice echoed in the void. You felt it cling to your legs as you tried to move, but you felt sluggish, like your feet were glued to the floor. As you tried to lift your foot up you looked down to see gooey black hands reach up your legs out of the ooze and crawl up you. "Sam! Dean! Help me!" You screamed out for help that wasn't going to come as you got scared. Suddenly the black ooze consumed you, you closed your eyes in response.....

Crowley snapped his fingers and two demons appeared holding Kevin. "Sorry, Sam. Prophet's mine." He snapped his fingers again and Kevin and the demons were gone. Sam and Ryan looked around the room before looking at Crowley. "You two are well and truly...on your own." Crowley snapped his fingers again and he disappeared. Sam and Ryan began to panic wondering what happened to Y/N, Dean, and Cass.....

Your eyes shot open as you tried to take in your surroundings, it was dark out and you were laying in the ground in a forest, no longer the lab. Dean and Cass were gone, Dick was gone. All the remained from the fight was some ooze from the explosion, stuck to your skin and clothes and some dripped off your body. You sat up and tried to gather your bearings. Your head felt like it was splitting open, you groaned as you stood up. It was almost like all the shades of color were drained from it or maybe they were never there at all. "Sam? Dean? Cass? Ryan?" You called out again, still no response. "Dean! Sam! Cass! Ryan!" You tried again, something felt very wrong....You retraced what happened--You stabbed Dick, he died, where would he go if he died....Then it hit you. Purgatory, but there was no way you could be in Purgatory that's where the souls of every monster goes, meaning.....Then you realized you weren't alone something was watching you, hunting you. You looked around, shadows and bright red eyes appeared all around you in the shadows of the trees. All you could hear was hissing, snarling, and growling.....Your heart pounded in your head as you felt the start of a panic attack, but you needed to focus if you were going to survive. "Sam! Dean!" You cried as you ran as fast and far as you could. "Dean!" You sobbed. Tears running down your face, you were overcome with terror. "DEAN, WHERE ARE YOU?!" You screamed into the darkness as you kept trying to shake the monsters.....

NOW....

A HUNDRED MILES OF WILDERNESS, MAINE

ONE YEAR LATER.....

A bright light shined as a vortex of wind and energy exploded in the middle of the forest. The blast wave sent you and Dean flying into the air before you slammed into the ground rolled a few times. You took a few deep breaths as you gathered your bearings, going through that wormhole was like getting hit by a semi multiple times, but you guys didn't have much choice. You quickly sat up and looked around, you and Dean were in a forest, but was it still Purgatory or did you finally make it home. "Dean, did we make it?" You gasped as you two looked around.

"I think I see light over there." Dean pointed out as he looked past the trees. You and him ran through the bushes over to a clearing where a tent was set up.

"Hello? Hello?" You heard a man call out as he shined a flashlight around. "It was a deer. I don't know. It was like--it was deer or some--" He began to chuckle, until you and Dean came out of the shadows. "Oh!" He cried fear clear on his face. You weren't surprised though you and Dean probably looked rabid to him. You were both covered head to toe in every filth and grime imaginable; dirt, mud, black goo, dried blood, some yours and some from the monsters you killed. Both yours and Dean's clothes were ruined ripped and torn. Your hair was disheveled and cut unevenly in some places. Some of it got torn off as you fought for your life, other parts grew longer than you usually had it. It also didn't help that both of you had horrific looking weapons, Dean had a machete-like sword made from bone and wood. you had a similar weapon as well as one that looked like an ax.

"It's okay we won't hurt you." You tried to assure him, but your words were in vain. You still shook and felt jittery, like something could attack you at any moment.

"Where are we?" Dean growled.

"What?" The man gasped as he stared at you two wide-eyed in shock. A young woman walked out of the tent, probably to see what was going on. You and Dean jumped and sub-consciously pulled your pistols on her. "W--hey, hey." The man cried as he nudged the woman behind him.

"Where's the closest road?" You asked.

"Twelve miles that way." The man nervously pointed. Dean glanced between the couple and the duffel bag on the ground before stealing it and running off in the direction the guy pointed.

"Um, thank you." You thanked them before running after Dean......

CLAYTON, LOUISIANA

FOUR DAYS LATER....

Four days after being back on Earth you and Dean got cleaned up and changed your clothes. You trimmed your hair back to a more reasonable length, slightly shorter than you had it before going to Purgatory. You two spent the past few days hitching rides from one place to another. It felt surreal, like a dream--the fact that you two were actually back. It felt weird interacting with regular people, you seemed to have a hard time getting used to normal society. The man parked his yellow pick-up truck by an intersection, you and Dean hopped out thanking him before crossing the street and making your way down the road following the directions he gave you two. As you two came up to an off-road trail Dean gripped his arm tightly. "You okay?" You asked him, worried. It must've hurt having Benny's soul in his arm, but it was part of the deal you two made with Benny.

"I'm good." Dean grumbled as he rubbed his arm. That night you and Dean finally made it to Benny's grave. His tombstone was actually a few feet away from where he was buried, five steps away from the small windmill. "This better be you, you son of a b*tch." Dean growled as you two felt the dirt. It felt like someone was buried there, but you couldn't be sure if it was Benny until you dug it up. Dean shined the flashlight for you as you stabbed the shovel into the dirt and heaved the dirt out.  You sighed heavily a bit out of breath, as you hopped out of the hole. Dean groaned and gritted his teeth as he held his arm.

"Let's get this done." You sighed as Dean rolled up his sleeve.

"Hold, on you b*stard. Hold on!" Dean hissed. Benny's soul glowed a bright orange as squirmed under Dean's skin, maybe reacting to his body being so close by.

"Might wanna bite down on something." You warned Dean as you pulled out your knife and grabbed Dean's arm. You tried to be as gentle as you could cutting Dean's arm.

"ANIMA CORPORI...FUERIT CORPUS..." Dean began to chant as he held his arm over Benny's bones. A mixture of Benny's soul and Dean's blood dripped onto the corpse. "TOTEM RESURGENT." Dean cried out in pain as Benny's soul transferred from his arm into the bones. You supported Dean and kept him up as he got unstable, and looked down to see the bones glow red and crackle with energy. Once it was done Dean went limp and fell into your arms, causing you both to tumble onto the ground. "Wow." Dean gasped and held his arm. You both looked over to see Benny standing behind you, looking at you and Dean with a smirk.

"Whew, that was fast." You remarked.

"No thanks to you two. The hell took you so long? Have a little fun before coming here?" Benny implied jokingly.

"I wish." Dean grumbled as you two stood up. "You're welcome."

"All limbs and fingers attached?" You asked as Benny cracked and loosened his neck.

"Yea, good enough." Benny murmured as he tested his vampire fangs. "So...what now?"

"Like we talked about, I guess." Dean shrugged.

"Then this is goodbye." Benny mumbled, a little regretfully.

"Just stay out of trouble, Benny, okay?" You told him. Benny nodded as he walked over to you and Dean.

"We made it, brother and sister. I can't believe it." Benny smiled and laughed as he shook hands with you two. Then you three relaxed a bit and smiled as Benny pulled you and Dean into a group hug which you two returned.

"You and us both." Dean agreed with a huge grin. You felt your heart swell up with a lightness seeing Dean so happy. This was it, you and Dean finally made it home, after all this time......

You and Dean didn't know what happened to Sam, Ryan, and Cass after you went to Purgatory. You returned to the cabin in Whitefish, Montana the only place you two knew to go too. You and Dean kept trying to get a hold of Sam and Ryan, but Ryan's phone was disconnected and none of Sam's numbers were working, at least as far as you knew. Sam wasn't returning any of your calls. After a few days of staying at the cabin you and Dean heard the familiar sound of the Impala's engine outside. You two nodded to each other and hid as the door to the cabin opened. You heard Sam sigh as he walked inside and looked around, but was it really Sam? Dean shoved the door shut as he tackled Sam to the floor and pinned him down. You jumped out of hiding and poured holy water on Sam's face. "Dean?! Y/N?! What the--" Sam gagged as some of the water went in his mouth. "I'm not a demon." Then you dumped borax on his face. "Or a Leviathan. What--" Sam coughed as he spit the borax and water out of this mouth. Then Dean grabbed his arm and cut it with a silver blade, before letting go.

"Or a shifter. Good." Dean noticed as he got off Sam. Sam gritted his teeth as he held his arm and stared up at you two confused.

"All right, our turn." You breathed as you splashed some water and borax on yourself.

"Come on, you don't need to. I know it's you." Sam insisted as he sat up. You handed the bottles of water and borax to Dean.

"D*mn it, Sammy!" Dean growled as he dosed himself in holy water and borax. As Sam stood up off the floor Dean held out the silver knife out to Sam, to make sure you and Dean weren't shifters. "Come on!"

"No!" Sam refused. "Guys, can I just say hello?" Dean glared and frowned as Sam's unwillingness to cooperate. He pulled his sleeve up and cut his own arm with the silver knife.

"All right." Dean murmured as he handed the knife to you, but before you could cut yourself Sam took the knife from you.

"Enough, can't we just--" Sam sighed as he looked between you and Dean.

"Well...let's do this." Dean chuckled and smiled as he wrapped up the cut on his hand.

"I don't know whether to give you guys a hug or take a shower." Sam commented.

"Come here, Sam." You laughed as you and the boys came together for a group hug. The warmth of Sam and Dean cemented the fact that you were actually home.

"Dude....you guys...you're freakin' alive." Sam chuckled as you all pulled away. "I mean, what the hell happened?"

"Apparently, standing too close to an exploding Dick gives your as* a one-way ticket to Purgatory." You shared.

"You were in Purgatory?" Sam gasped as he looked between you and Dean. You and Dean just nodded. "For the whole year?"

"Yeah, time flies when you're running for your life." Dean grumbled, gruffly.

"Well, how'd you get out?" Sam asked.

"I guess whoever built that box didn't want us in there any more than we did." Dean shrugged.

"What does that mean?" Sam wondered.

"All that matters is that we're back, we're home." You assured him and yourself.

"What about Cass? Was he there?" Sam inquired. Hearing Cass' name made you freeze, after what happened to Cass--you couldn't answer Sam's question.

"Yeah, Cass didn't make it." Dean mumbled.

"What exactly does that mean?" Sam questioned.

"Something happened to him down there. Things got pretty hairy towards the end, and he...just let go." Dean explained. Memories of the last time you saw Cass flickered through your mind--You held on tight to Dean's hand--he tried to push you through the wormhole first--You and Dean reaching out your hands--Cass--the vortex of wind and energy threatened to tug you and Dean through--Cass began to reach out--he--stopped--looked sad--let go--You and Dean--screamed out--tears in your eyes.

"So Cass is dead? You guys saw him die?" Sam asked.

"We saw enough." You murmured dejectedly avoiding eye contact with Sam.

"So, then what, you're not sure?" Sam raised an eyebrow.

"She said we saw enough, Sam." Dean growled.

"Right. Dean, Y/N, I'm sorry." Sam apologized.

"Us too." Dean nodded.

"I was kind of surprised you showed up, did you know that over half of your numbers don't work?" You asked Sam as you got three beers out of the fridge.

"Felt like we were leaving messages in the wind." Dean grumbled as he took one of the beers from you and sat down at the table.

"Yeah, I-I-I didn't get your messages." Sam stuttered.

"Why?" You wondered.

"Probably because I ditched the phones." Sam answered.

"Because...?" Dean urged Sam to continue.

"I guess, um...I guess something happened to me this year, too. I don't hunt anymore." Sam admitted.

"Yeah. And Sasha Grey's gone legit." Dean chuckled. You didn't laugh though you could see that Sam was serious. Sam scoffed. "What?"

"Nothing. Um, she did a Soderbergh movie." Sam shared.

"What?" Dean gasped angrily.

"She did a Soderbergh--" Sam began to repeat.

"No. You, Sam. You quit?" Dean scoffed.

"Yeah, yeah. I--you two were gone...Dean. Cass was gone, Bobby was dead. Ryan cut all ties and went home. I mean, Crowley even shipped off Kevin and Meg to parts unknown." Sam explained.

"So you turned tail on the family business." Dean fumed.

"Nothing says "family" quite like the whole family being dead." Sam pointed out.

"We weren't dead." Dean hissed as he stood up. "In fact, we were knee-deep in God's armpit killing monsters, which, I thought, is what we actually do."

"Yes, Dean. And far as I knew, what we do is the thing that got every single member of our families killed. I had no one--no one. And for the first time in my life, I was completely alone. And, honestly, I didn't exactly have a roadmap. So, yeah, I fixed up the Impala, and I just...drove." Sam went on.

"After you looked for us." Dean nodded.

"Did you try to look for us, Sam?" You asked. Sam didn't give you an answer, he just looked away. Which gave you and Dean his answer.

"Good. That's good. Now, we--we...always told each other not to look for each other. That's smart. Good for you. Of course, we always ignored that because of our deep, abiding love for each other, but not this time, right, Sammy?" Dean growled. You could tell that Sam was upset and felt guilty for not looking for you and Dean, he just frowned as he looked at the floor. He must've had some reason for not trying to find you guys.

"Look, I'm still the same guy, Dean." Sam expressed.

"Well, bully for you. I'm not." Dean spat before stomping outside.

"Welcome back." Sam scoffed as he watched Dean slam the door on his way out. "What happened to you two?" Sam wondered.

"What didn't happen to us." You mumbled. "So, what happened to Ryan after we, you know--took the plunge?" You asked.

"He was really messed up after you disappeared, I think he might have blamed what happened on us, maybe for bringing you into the hunting life. It's not like he said anything like that out-right, but he lost all motivation and just up and left. I tried to call him a few times, his phone was out of service though, so I figured he didn't want anything to do with me." Sam explained.

"I'd like to try and find him when we get the chance, let him know that we're back." You decided.

"Yeah, good idea." Sam agreed. That night You and Dean were going through some of your old stuff, cell phones and whatnot. Sam left all this at the cabin when he quit hunting. "Either of you want some dinner?" Sam asked as he was cooking something on the stove.

"Pass." Dean declined Sam's offer as he put some earbuds in his ears that were attached to one of the cell phones.

"I'll have some, thanks Sam." You smiled as you got up and sat at the table.

"No problem." Sam smiled. He finished cooking the stew and served some up in two bowls for you and him. An awkward silence fell, the only noise was the sound on the spoons dipping into the stew. The stew was a lot better than it first looked and smelled divine, you practically inhaled the meat, vegetables, and broth as you devoured it. You didn't realize until now how long it's been since you actually ate real food, a home-cooked meal. A piece of meat got stuck in your throat and you coughed a bit as it got dislodged and you swallowed. "Ha, ha. There's no rush your food isn't going anywhere, Y/N." Sam laughed as he smiled at you.

"There wasn't much time to eat when we were constantly fighting for our lives." You mumbled. Sam chuckled a little nervously as you felt Dean's eyes glancing at you and Sam while he played with the cell phone. Then the awkward silence fell again.

"What?" Sam asked as he and Dean kept staring at each other. You turned around as Dean pulled the earbuds out.

"Sam Winchester, it's Kevin Tran. Crowley had me in this warehouse, and I just escaped. I don't know where I am. And I don't know if he or--or any other demons are still after me. I tried praying to Jane, but she isn't responding. I need your help. Call me back. It's Kevin Tran." A voice recording of Kevin played over the phone as Dean glared at Sam.

"When was that?" Sam wondered as he continued eating. You stopped eating at this point, if Kevin got away from Crowley then he would need help. No doubt Crowley would be sending all his demons after him.

"Sam Winchester. I-it's Kevin Tran. I called you a week ago. Call me, please. I don't know what the hell I'm doing out here, man." Kevin begged sounding a lot more panicked and urgent.

"Okay. I get it." Sam sighed as he dropped his spoon and stood up and walked over to Dean. "So, what, you want to...strategize or something?"

"Sam, it's Kevin. I'm....WHOO! I'm so good." The Third recording playing.

"Is he drunk?" You questioned.

"Three months since you ditched my as*. Haven't slept for more than four hours a night. But, it's all good in the hood." Kevin drunkenly laughed as he cleared his throat. "Uh, if you're still alive, eat me." He growled drunkenly. Dean pressed a button on the cell phone. "Eat me." It felt like Dean was trying to make a point, make Sam realize the ramifications of him quitting. "Sam, it's been six months. I can only assume you're dead. If not, don't try and reach me. You won't be able to. I won't be calling this number anymore." Dean closed the phone and angrily stood up.

"He was our responsibility." Dean growled. Then he threw the cell phone at Sam. "And you couldn't answer the d*mn phone." Sam was probably shocked and confused by Dean's constant gruffness and quickness to anger. But you understood it, you and Dean had changed a lot in the year you were in Purgatory, things became a lot more black and white. He became angry and tense, while you became a lot more anxious and paranoid. The atmosphere between the boys got even more tense and awkward, Sam was sitting at the table by the fireplace while you and Dean sat on the couch going through more old stuff.

"All right, listen to this--Kevin's last message. Listen to the background." Sam cleared his throat before playing on the audio on his laptop.

"If not, don't try and reach me. You won't be able to. I won't be calling this number anymore." Kevin's voice became garbled as the audio was amplified. In the background it sounds like maybe noise from a station of some kind.

"Hear that?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, it sounds kind of like a station." You noticed.

"Uh-huh, I think he was on a bus. Listen again." Sam spoke as he typed away from the keyboard for a second.

"If not, don't try and reach me. LAST STOP--CENTREVILLE." You heard blare in the background. "...won't be calling this number--

"Centreville, where?" You wondered as you and Dean stood up.

"Michigan." Sam answered.

"And why would Kevin be in Centrevilie, Michigan?" Dean questioned as you two walked over to Sam. Sam chuckled.

"Because...his high-school girlfriend goes to college there." Sam shared as he turned the laptop around for you and Dean to look. The social medias of Kevin and Channing Ngo were on the screen.

"It's a little thin." You mumbled.

"It's the best lead we got." Sam stated.

""We"?" Dean raised an eyebrow.

"You were right." Sam admitted. "He was our responsibility. So...let's find him, okay?" The next morning you and the boys made sure everything was packed in the trunk of the Impala. "Hey." Sam spoke up as he tossed Dean the keys.

"Well...no visible signs of douchery--I'll give you that." Dean grumbled as he examined the condition of the car.  You guys got in, the boys in the front and you in the backseat. It felt like forever since you were in the Impala. You admired the beautiful interior as you rubbed the leather seats. Then a strange scent invaded your nose.

"Is it me or does it smell like dog in here?" You wondered as you sniffed the air. Dean frowned disapprovingly as he looked at Sam.

"In the car?" Sam questioned as he sniffed around.

"You tell us" Dean huffed as he stared hard at Sam. Sam just shrugged. "Hmm." Dean murmured not believing Sam, but letting go. He started the engine and pulled onto the road. After driving for most of the day you three decided to stop at a motel for the night. Sam was in the room unpacking his stuff, while Dean wandered off towards the vending machines. You were pulling your backpack out of the trunk when two kids ran by playing with toy guns. Suddenly you tensed up as memories of Purgatory flooded to the front of your mind....

You were running through the trees, but not frantically or aimlessly like you did before. There was no sense of time in Purgatory, you weren't sure if days, weeks, or even months passed. When you first got to Purgatory it was like hell, maybe worse. Some monster was always trying to kill you, hunt you, and Dean and Cass were nowhere to be found. After a few close calls you realized the only way you were going to survive was to stop being hunted, and start hunting the monsters. You hoped one of them might have information about Dean and Cass' whereabouts. You lost count of how many monsters you killed, but it seemed like Purgatory had an endless supply of them. When you killed one two more would crop up out of nowhere. Right now you were hunting a vampire, you could sense he was actually kind of scared based on his frantic breathing and his panicked running. Each step you took each turn you made was planned in order to corner the vampire and pin him so you were torture him for information. You kept your distance and used the bushes and trees for cover as you stalked him, waiting for the perfect chance to attack. He suddenly stopped running and the forest got quiet you immediately stopped and listened for every sound and noise. Then you heard rustling as the branch snapped nearby. You sprang forward towards the noise with your knife in one hand and a grotesque and horrifying looking ax in the other. You found your prey in a clearing sniffing the air for something, probably you. You stood behind him twitching and ready to attack at any moment. He froze and tensed up before turning around and attacking you.

"AHH!" He yelled as he swung the grotesque looking machete he had towards you. You didn't even think your body just moved on it's own, you swung the ax and chopped his arm off. Making he drop the machete on the ground. He let out a blood-curdling scream as you slammed him into the tree and held your knife to his throat. You kept your ax pressed against his stomach, either way he was gonna die but you needed information from him first. He hissed and attempted to lunge at you as he clipped his vampire fangs towards you, but it didn't phase you at all.

"Just calm down, wouldn't want your last few moments to be stressful." You warned him. He retracted his fangs as you pressed your knife against his throat. "Where's the angel and the Human?" You asked him.

"Well, there's a "Human" right in front of me." The vampire retorted.

"I mean the other one, blood-sucker." You spat.

"I've heard stories, about there being not just one but two Humans in Purgatory." He laughed.

"Where's the angel and the other Human?" You growled as you slammed him into the tree.

"I don't know." The vampire hissed. You just stabbed him in the leg with your knife making him scream out in pain, but it didn't last long you swung your ax and chopped his head off. You decided to stow away your knife in case you needed it later and changed it out of the machete the vampire was using. Suddenly another vampire came out of the trees and tried to attack you. You swung the ax at him and he blocked it, while he was distracted you chopped his head off with the machete. But another one came from behind, as you turned around to counter him another vampire tackled him away from you and onto the ground. They fought and struggled against each other, and you watched with surprise as this mysterious vampire chopped the other one's head off. You got ready to fight as he stood up and looked at you with a smirk. He didn't seem like the other vampires, but you couldn't afford to let your guard down. He had a shortly-trimmed hair which was slight receded, and some stubble covering his chin and jawline and he wore a black overcoat with some old-fashioned clothes under it, but you make out what period they were from. You gripped your machete and ax as you lunged toward him to attack....

Dean seemed tense and kind of passive-aggressive as he sat on the one of the beds, which you supposed was his usual mood nowadays. You sat at the table working on your laptop, thankfully Sam was kind enough to leave it at the cabin powered off. "You two okay?" Sam asked as he walked out of the bathroom, looking at you and Dean with concern on his face.

"Uh-huh." You murmured.

"Yeah, hey, what do you say we blow this joint, hit the road?" Dean suggested.

"Now?" Sam raised an eyebrow.

"It's a good idea, the sooner we find Kevin the better." You agreed.

"The kid survived a year without us. He'll be okay for another twelve hours." Sam chuckled. "Besides, when's the last time either of you slept?" Sam was right, ever since you and Dean came back neither of you really slept or talked about what happened down there, you two silently agreed that it was a taboo subject and it would be better to not dredge up old nightmares. You didn't know about Dean, but you were afraid to fall asleep and wake up back in Purgatory, and the few times you did you would have nightmares of the horror and terror you experienced down there. So, if you were going to stay up you might as well do something productive, like trying to track down Ryan.

"Hmm." Dean breathed.

"What?" Sam wondered.

"Nothing. Is that, uh, that now you rationalized taking a year off?" Dean scoffed. "People will be okay?"

"People were okay, Dean. You guys are okay." Sam insisted. He couldn't have been more wrong, though.

"Wow." Dean chuckled as he shook his head.

"Look, I did what we promised we'd do. I moved on. I lived my life." Sam went on.

"Yeah, no, I'm getting that." Dean huffed.

"Look, it wasn't like I was...just oblivious. I mean, I read the paper every day. I saw, the...weird stories, the kind of stuff we used to chase." Sam shared as he walked over and sat down on his bed.

"And you said what? "Not my problem"?" Dean scoffed.

"Yes." Sam nodded. "And you know what? The world went on."

"People died, Sam." Dean argued.

"People will always die, Dean. Or maybe another Hunter took care of it. I don't know, but the point is, for the first time, I realized that it wasn't only up to me to stop it." Sam explained.

"Hmm. So what was it, hmm? What could possibly make you stop just like that?" Dean questioned. "A girl?" Sam sighed as he flinched for a second.

"Did you meet someone this last year?" You asked Sam, a little surprised.

"She had nothing to do with it." Sam stated.

"There was a girl." Dean grumbled.

"Yeah. There was. And then there wasn't. Any more questions?" Sam asked. Night fell as Sam began to share a few things about him and this mystery woman he met. "Listen, I know this is gonna sound crazy to you, but...you two need to know. I didn't just drop out. I found something. Something almost as good as what you two have. Something I've...never had all my life." Sam expressed. The room was dark only lit up by the moonlight and the parking lot lights. Sam sat in his bed, while Dean sat on the floor leaning against the foot of the other bed, and you sat on the couch.

"What was her name?" You wondered.

"Amelia." Sam answered.

"So, what, you, uh, you dropped your peanut butter in her chocolate? How'd it happen?" Dean inquired.

"I hit a dog." Sam replied.

"What?" You gasped. Dean turned and looked at Sam so quickly, you thought he cracked his neck.

"I knew I smelled dog." Dean growled as he pointed at Sam.

"And I knew you'd throw a b*tch fit." Sam rolled his eyes.

"Hey, the rules are simple, Sam. You don't take a joint from a guy named Don, and there's no dogs in the car!" Dean shouted.

"All right, what about you two?" Sam posed.

"What about us?" Dean snapped.

"Look at you. You've still got that look. You're shaky. You're on edge, but it seems like Y/N's caught it too." Sam noticed. "What was it like?"

"I don't think you'd believe us if we told you." You mumbled.

"Try me." Sam insisted.

"It was like a nightmare you couldn't wake up from, bloody, messy. Always something hunting you, waiting to kill you." You muttered, shivering remembering the hellish forest.

"Thirty-one favors of bottom-dwelling nasties. Hell, most days felt like three-hundred-sixty-degree combat. But there was something about being there. Felt pure." Dean went on. All this talk of Purgatory dredged up those nightmarish memories again.....

You watched with surprise as this mysterious vampire chopped the other one's head off. You got ready to fight as he stood up and looked at you with a smirk. He didn't seem like the other vampires, but you couldn't afford to let your guard down. He had shortly-trimmed hair which was slight receded, with some stubble covering his chin and jawline and he wore a black overcoat with some old-fashioned clothes under it, but you couldn't make out what period they were from. You gripped your machete and ax as you lunged toward him to attack. He managed to block each of your swings with your machete and ax, but he didn't seem like he wanted to kill you. "What? Is this how you thank me for saving your hide?" The vampire questioned as he tried to disarm you.

"Don't worry I'll try to make your death painless." You growled as you stepped back and swung as his arm, but he easily dodged your attack.

"Mm." He grinned at your response. "Awful strange way to thank the guy who has what you want, sister." He commented as you two circled each other.

"Uh-huh, and what's that?" You asked as you looked for the best way to kill him.

"You're Y/N L/N, right? See, I've got a buddy named Dean who's tearing this place limb from limb looking for you." The vampire shared.

"Ha, that's the biggest pile of BS, I've heard. There's no way he'd be buddies with a dental apocalypse like you." You scoffed.

"Funny, he said the same thing to me." He chuckled. You loosened your body and quickly lunged forward swinging both weapons at him, but he caught them which is what you were counting on. You planted your foot into his chest and pushed the weight of your body into your leg causing him to let go of your machete and ax and fall onto the ground. You jumped on top of him and pinned him to the ground as you pressed the ax against his chest and the machete against his neck. "He, he, he, I like you, sister. You understand the rules of Purgatory, you don't trust nobody. Name's Benny, by the way." Benny smirked as he just laid there, not fighting back.

"I'd say it was nice to meet you, Benny, but you know...no ill will, I gotta kill you." You hissed as you lifted your arm and moved to slice his head from his neck......

You and the boys got to Centreville and after suiting up you three went to the dorm room Channing Ngo was staying in. "The last time I saw Kevin was, like, a year ago." Channing shrugged as she stared at you guys with her arms crossed, looking slightly inconvenienced. Her roommate was clacking away on her laptop behind her.

"When he disappeared?" Sam asked.

"Mm-hmm." Channing nodded. "He stole his mother's car because he thought he was on a mission from God or something? It was crazy."

"Shut up! My friend Adam--who got addicted to Adderall but got a perfs on his S.A.T.s, so it was totally worth it--same thing." Her roommate shared.

"Shut up!" Channing gasped.

"Seerse. Mission from God." She exclaimed.

"Listen, Channing." You began as you cleared your throat. "We know for a fact that Kevin was here."

"No, he wasn't." Channing shook her head.

"We understand if you're trying to protect him, but he'll be safest with us." You assured her.

"I hate Kevin. I wouldn't protect him." Channing huffed.

"I thought you two had a thing." Dean pointed out.

"Yeah, when he was going to Princeton." She scoffed.

"Wow. Just like that?" Dean questioned.

"Yeah." Her roommate answered.

"Mm-hmm." Channing nodded. You and the boys left Channing's dorm, since she was little to no help in finding Kevin.

"So why would Kevin come sniffing around here if not to see her?" Dean wondered as you guys walked across the campus grounds towards where Dean parked the Impala.

"No idea. Maybe we should split up, ask around, see if anybody's seen him?" Sam suggested.

"Oh yeah, Asian kid at a university. That'll be like looking for a needle in a stack of needles." You grumbled.

You, Sam, and Dean split up to ask around the campus about Kevin, and agreed to meet up later at a restaurant just outside the campus. You walked to the restaurant after finding nothing and noticed Sam sitting at one of the tables on the patio. "Hey." You greeted him as you joined him at the table.

"Hey, find anything?" Sam asked as he typed on his laptop.

"Zilch, you?" You wondered.

"I might have something." Sam mumbled as Dean walked over to the table.

"Don't judge me." Dean sighed as he sat down. "I got bubkes."

"Well, I was just about to tell Y/N what I found." Sam began as a waitress came over with two baskets, one with a burger and fries and the other with chicken strips and fries.

"And here you go." She smiled as she set them on the table.

"Ah, thank you." Sam thanked her as he nudged the baskets toward you and Dean.

"Aw, thanks Sam." You smiled as you took the chicken basket.

"Sweet mother of God." Dean gasped, Sam just smiled and nodded. "It's for me? Seriously?" Sam thought that Dean was being just a tad overdramatic. Dean grinned as he admired the burger.

"Check this out. So, I went through campus security archives around the time Kevin should have been here. Anyone look familiar?" Sam asked as he turned the laptop for you and Dean to look at while you ate your food. The frame showed a shot of Kevin. Dean just closed his eyes and moaned as he savored the burger. "Dude, it's a burger."

"It's treasure." Dean proclaimed as he swallowed.

"So, Kevin came all the way here and didn't see his "girlfriend"?" You questioned.

"I don't know....but I went to the computer lab and found the computer he was on." Sam went on.

"And?" Dean urged Sam to continue.

"And I found the website he was visiting, found his account username, hacked in to the website, found when else this username logged in, and then I reverse-tracked the I.P. address back to the original user, Kevin, who has apparently been using the same wireless router for the past two months." Sam explained.

"That is spectacular work." Dean remarked as he ate his fries. "Any chance I can get that in English?"

"Pretty much, Sam tracked him to...." You trailed off.

"Iowa, I think he's in Iowa--at a coffee shop." Sam shared. You three went to the coffee shop in Fairfield, Iowa and an employee gave you guys directions to an abandoned church outside of town. Dean pulled up and parked the Impala and you and the boys got out of the car.

"A church? You sure this is right?" Dean asked as you looked up at the decrepit old thing.

"Barista at the coffee shop swears he's seen Kevin ducking in here for the past few months." Sam shrugged as you guys went up the steps and tried the front doors, but they were locked. While Dean pulled out his lock pick you knocked on the door.

"Hey, Kevin. It's Y/N L/N, and Sam and Dean Winchester. Can you open up?" You called through the door, but there was no answer. You stepped back as Dean knelt down and picked the lock. Then you three went inside to the worship hall of the church, as you walked past the double doors Kevin was waiting and soaked you and the boys with borax.

"Hey!" You cried as you guys shielded your faces with your hands and arms.

"Stop! Stop!" Dean shouted. Kevin stopped firing and looked at you three. "Not Leviathans. It's us."

"What the hell happened to you guys?" Kevin asked.

"Cliff notes? Me and Y/N went to Purgatory. Sam hit a dog." Dean grumbled.

"For real?" Kevin gasped. "You want some towels?" Kevin offered as you tried to wipe the borax off your face. Kevin got you all some towels and he led you through the church. He had devil's traps by every door in the church.

"So, who taught you this stuff?" You inquired.

"I guess...God." Kevin answered.

"God taught you how to trap demons?" Sam questioned.

"Technically, yeah." Kevin nodded.

"Wait, wait, hold on. Crowley kidnapped you. I saw that. But then you left a message saying that you escaped. How?" Sam wondered.

"Well....first, he took me to a warehouse. There was a tablet, there, like the last one." Kevin began.

"Wait, there's another tablet? So another word of God." Dean noted.

"Yes." Kevin replied.

"How many words of God are there?" Dean asked.

"I just became a prophet, like, a year ago." Kevin scoffed.

"Did it have a name?" You inquired.

""Demons."" Kevin stated.

"What about demons?" Dean urged Kevin to continue.

"As far as I could tell...everything." Kevin went on to talk about how the tablet mentioned Hell gates.

"What about Hell gates?" Sam wondered.

"There's one in Wisconsin. The tablet told me how to open it. There were ingredients for a spell." Kevin added.

"You showed the King of Hell to open a Hell gate?" Dean growled. "So that all the demons in Hell could come out all at the same time."

"What? No. I told Crowley I was opening a Hell gate, but I was reading from another chapter--how to destroy demons." Kevin explained.

"You son of a b*tch." Dean chuckled.

"So, where's the tablet now?" You asked.

"Safe." Kevin answered.

"Safe where?" Sam wondered.

"Hey. As long as it's safe, okay?" Dean told Sam. "Were you able to read anything else off the tablet before you hid it?"

"Only the stuff about closing the gates of Hell." Kevin smirked. "Forever."

"Wha-wait, what?" You gasped.

"Banish all demons off the face of the Earth, lock them away forever. That could be important, right?" Kevin smiled.

"Closing the gates of Hell forever?" Dean asked. "Yeah. Yeah, that could be important." Dean nodded.

You, Sam, and Dean decided to go outside to process and discuss what Kevin just told you guys. "Okay, if this kid is right, he's sitting on a bombshell. Hell, he is the bombshell." Dean exclaimed. Sam didn't look too happy about it.

"You're concerned?" You noticed.

"Yeah. I mean, there's no way that Kevin's getting out of this intact, is there?" Sam figured.

"He seems to be doing okay right now." You noted.

"Yeah, he got out." Sam murmured.

"And now he's in it...whether he likes it or not." Dean mumbled.

"So...free will, that's only for you?" Sam scoffed as he looked at Dean.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing." Dean growled.

"Sam, think about it for a second. This is a one-time chance, we get Kevin to the tablet, he gives us the spell, we send every black-eyed son of a b*tch back to Hell--forever. Think about the lives we could save, no more families would have to be torn apart like ours. And it might give us all a chance at a semi-normal life." You pointed out. Sam looked very conflicted as he stared off at the sunset. As night fell Sam went inside, while you and Dean stayed outside for a little while.

"So, were you serious about what you said a bit ago?" Dean asked as you two leaned against the railing.

"Yeah, I think this is our only chance to ground the demons for good." You nodded.

"Not that, about us having semi-normal lives." Dean clarified.

"Yeah." You nodded.

"After the year we just had?" Dean scoffed.

"That might be why, after we lost Bobby I felt done with everything, I was saying screw the world. After Purgatory....we were lucky to get out of there, that Benny helped us out. This feels like a second chance, for us." You admitted. "Could you see us, with kids, a dog, the whole white-picket deal?" You asked Dean.

"I don't know, I always thought we'd just keep on hunting. I mean, there are always gonna be monsters after the demons are locked away." Dean pointed out.

"Yeah." You sighed. You two went inside to find Sam sitting on one of the benches zoning out. A little while later you four were in the main hall of the church when the room started shaking and the floorboards were broken, breaking the devil's trap.

"We got company." Dean warned as you two opened the duffel bags. "Sam." Dean handed Sam the demon knife, while he pulled out his Purgatory machete and you pulled out your own Purgatory machete and ax.

"What the hell are those?" Sam gasped as he stared at yours and Dean's weapon wide-eyed.

"These are Purgatory." You shrugged. The double-doors slammed open and three demons stomped inside.

"Y/N L/N and Dean Winchester. Back from Purgatory." One of the demons sneered. Sam backed up next to Kevin, while you and Dean got ready to fight the demons.

"Spanky the demon. Yeah, we heard about you." Dean mocked. "You're the one who used too much teeth, right?" The two of the demons charged at you and Dean. The third one went for Sam and Kevin. The demon that charged at you grabbed your neck and tried to choke you. You swung your ax and he caught it. Then you swung the blunt side of your machete and slammed it into the arm that was trying to choke you. He was forced to let go and you kicked him away from you onto the floor. You walked over to him and stabbed him with your machete and wedged it into the splinted floorboards.

"You b*tch!" He screamed out in pain. You looked over to see Dean killing the demon that was attacking him with the demon knife. The third one was already dead.

"Hey, babe." You called. Dean tossed you the demon knife and you plunged it into his chest killing him. Then you pulled out the demon knife and your machete and got up.

"Hello, boys. And Y/N." Crowley greeted you three as he appeared. in the doorway with a possessed Channing. "Y/N and Dean. You're looking...well, let's just say Purgatory didn't do you any favors. Where's your angel?"

"Ask your mother." Dean spat.

"There's that grade-school zip. Missed it. I really did. Moose. Still with the pork chops. I admire that." Crowley clicked his tongue.

"Let Channing go." Kevin demanded.

"Sorry, Kevin that isn't Channing right now." You told him.

"What an awful thing to say to the boy. Of course it's Channing. Kev. Last time we danced, you stole my tablet and killed my men. Tell you what. Come with me now, bygones. And I'll let the girl go back to...what's-the-point U." Crowley offered.

"He's lying. You won't get Channing back. She's probably dead already." Dean warned Kevin.

"Will you please stop saying that?" Crowley sighed.

"Is he wrong?" You posed.

"Let the girl speak." Crowley ordered his demon with a snap of his fingers. Channing blinked a few times as she regained control of her body.

"Kevin?" Channing smiled.

"Channing?" Kevin gasped.

"What's going on?" Channing asked.

"There's a demon in you, and you're going to your safety school." Kevin answered.

"What?!" Channing cried.

"But it's gonna be okay." Kevin assured her.

"I-I-I-I just--I can't." Crowley complained.

"No, no, wait." Kevin begged him. Crowley snapped his fingers and the demon took control again. "Okay. I'll do it."

"Kevin." Sam began.

"Myself for the girl. But this ends. All right? No fighting, no nothing. It ends." Kevin demanded.

"Can't let you do that, buddy." Dean refused.

"Or what? You'll kill me?" Kevin questioned. "I'll grab my stuff." Kevin mumbled as he walked away.

"Chin up, lady and gentlemen. I'm a professional." Crowley proclaimed.

"This isn't over Crowley, not by a long shot." You hissed.

"Really, Y/N, who writes your stuff? A marshmallow?" Crowley scoffed. "Come on, Kevin. Chop, chop." Crowley yelled, but Kevin hadn't come back yet. "Kevin?" Crowley called as he moved to check on Kevin. You and the boys moved to stop him as you gripped the demon knife to attack Crowley, but Crowley snapped his fingers and the knife started glowing orange and burned your hand. You groaned as you dropped the knife. "Really, kids?" Crowley murmured as he went into the other room to check on Kevin. "Kevin!" As Dean picked up the demon knife Kevin suddenly shouted.

"Y/N, Sam, Dean, run!" Kevin yelled. You three ran out to the Impala where you met up with Kevin you all jumped into the Impala and Dean sped off. As Dean drove past the church you guys watched in almost slow-motion as the demon left Channing's body and Crowley snapped her neck, killing her.

A few days later Dean pulled into a gas station to fill up the tank as his cell phone rang. "Hello? Wrong number." Dean growled before hanging up the phone. "Automated Jackas*." All right, anybody want anything?" Something felt off, you and Dean hadn't been back longer enough for any of anyone to really know you were alive. The only person who'd be trying to call Dean would be Benny.

"I'm good." Sam nodded. Kevin was quiet ever since Channing was killed, not that you could blame him.

"Kevin? How you holding up?" Sam asked him.

"Awesome. The King of Hell just snapped my girlfriend's neck. How 'about you?" Kevin quivered and snapped.

"All right, listen to me. I'm sorry, about your girlfriend, okay? I am. But the sooner you get this, the better. You're in it now whether you like it or not. That means you do what you got to do. I'm hitting the head." Dean grumbled as he got out of the car. You'd have to ask him about that phone call from Benny later when you two got alone.
