Chapter Text
Chapter One- Trash
Midoriya woke up to the sound of the vacuum. His mother often woke up early on weekends to clean the house before having to go back to work. A yawn left him as he rolled out of bed and went out his room.
"Morning," he told his mom.
She looked at him with a smile, shutting off the vacuum. "Good morning, Izuku, I've got something for you to do. Go grab some yen from my purse and go down to the store to grab some miso paste."
"Alright."
It wasn't strange for them to let the nine-year-old put by himself to go run quick errands, Midoriya was used to it. There was only the two of them in the house so they'd have to make it work. Grabbing a few bills and shoving it in his pockets, he walked out of their apartment and made his way down the stairs. No shame in walking around in his pajamas when they consisted of cargo shorts and a shirt that said 'pajamas'. Others may call him weird but it was smart.
His trip to the store was a quick one, a quick hello to the cashier and grabbing what he needed before paying and walking back out. There was no harassment on weekends, the only days that Midoriya really had for himself. No one could care less to ask about him having a quirk since he didn't look too out there and he didn't have to tell them. Weekends let Midoriya be himself without worrying about explosions burning him or getting teased for just wanting to fit in.
This weekend, however, seemed to have other plans for him. Usually, he was able to find kittens in one of the alleyways closest to his home. They were always fun to play with and it had been a while since he saw them so Midoriya made a quick decision and entered the ally.
He was caught off guard when someone pulled on his shirt. He yelped, looking towards his captor before freezing.
A boy he had never seen anyone look like before was standing in front of him.
He was beautiful. Dark brown skin with darker freckles clustered around his shoulders and an almost black dark blue hair that was curlier than Midoriya's. His eyes were the best part though, a brown color at first but the closer to the pupil the brighter and greener the color got. He looked to be around Midoriya's age and was currently looking at him with just as much curiosity.
"Can I help you?" The way he spoke was almost feral, growling as if he were a dog. He looked tense and weary.
"I've never seen you around before," Midoriya said, holding the plastic grocery bag against his chest.
The other boy's eyes widened.
"Why, are there others who live in this ally?" he asked.
After thinking about it, Midoria shook his head no. The boy seemed to slump. A small smile came on his face.
"Good. Looks like I'm moving in then," he huffed in satisfaction before letting go of Midoriya's shirt and going deeper into the ally.
Before he even knew what he was doing, Midoriya was following him.
"What's your name?"
The boy paused, turning his head to look over his shoulder.
"What's yours?"
"Midoriya I-Izuku." Midoriya answered with a stutter.
"You should get back home, Midoriya. I'm sure whoever you're bringing that bag to is waiting."
The green-haired bog jumped at that. His mom was most definitely waiting on his return and he didn't want to make her worry! Before he completely left, he was called. He looked over to see the ally way boy raise a beat-up gloved hand as he waved.
"My name's Tora. Visit me, okay?"
