Renjun let out a nervous sigh. He was nervous to give Haechan this gift for some reason. He supposed it was because they have been away for a while, or maybe he felt one of the other members, Chenle…let's be real ,could have given him a hint or something. That wouldn't be possible though because Chenle was strategically brought to go on an outing with Jisung (Renjun is gonna treat him to whatever meal he wants for this favor). He was grateful, he really was, but he was just so nervous.
He looked down at the bag he was holding that had the present inside. It was a scarf, with a bear patch and sunflower embroidery on the ends. It may be small, but he felt Haechan needed it to protect his throat. Sometimes it's too cold in places. He really hoped he would like it, even if he wore it at least once. He smiled at it while thinking of the response he may get. He sighed one last time then headed out to meet up with Haechan.
Once at the location, a cafeteria with many options in food and drink, smiled at Haechan who got up from his seat to greet him. Haechan embraced him tightly and then they went to sit down. Amazingly, Haechan didn't see the gift, it was in Renjun's bag folded neatly.
After they ordered their food, Haechan looked up at Renjun with a smile and then leaned over to get a closer look at him. " You look well. Did you miss me?"
"As if…I actually had some peace while you were gone..." Renjun said after glancing at Haechan's face. He smiled and placed his hand on the table, which Haechan held. "Of course I did. I was hoping you were okay."
Haechan nodded and. Then rubbed his thumb over the hand he was holding. "Yeah I missed you too. I got you something…" he said, pulling away and looking through his pockets then in his bag.
Renjun smiled and let out an airy giggle. " Me too actually. I got you something I mean. Maybe we should wait until after we eat." He said after catching sight of their waiter coming by. Haechan agreed and they ate.
After returning to the Dream dorm, Haechan greeted Jaemin and Jeno as they saw him. Jaemin even gave him an almost tackle hug, but Jeno slowed him down before impact. After that Renjun and Haechan went to His room and sat down.
They both got comfy then sat across from each other, both their bags in front of them and ready to exchange their presents.
"I can't believe my baby got me something. I'm so happy~!" Haechan said in a sing-song tune.
"Mm…you too. You got first…" Renjun said smiling a bit and holding his bag close to his chest. He looked on with a bit of anticipation. He really hoped his gift was good. Haechan wouldn't dislike it…right?
Haechan proceeds to pull the present out slowly as if teasing at first, then he puts it back and holds up a finger. "Wait…close your eyes."
Renjun tilted his head while letting out a huff, doing what he was instructed. Haechan then pulled out a pair of white mittens which happened to have little fox patches and the initials R.H. (H.R. either waaayyyy) in purple lettering. Also a pait of gloves to go with it, but those were black and the lettering Yellow.
Haechan cleared his throat to signal Renjun to open his eyes and smiled at his reaction. " Your hands are cold sometimes. I noticed you didn't have a pair…I was worried you know."
Renjun stared at the pairs and let out a gasp. He could not believe his eyes. He also let out a chuckle thinking about how their gifts were similar. He looked up at Haechan and hugged him, giving him a little nuzzle as well.
" thank you Haechanie…I love them! I'll make sure to wear them when it's cold." He said grinning and Haechan also gave him a quick smooch on the cheek.
"Well if I'm here I can keep them warm." Haechan said with confidence then let out a yelp when Renjun playfully smacked his arm as he pulled away from their embrace.
"Oh you…now it's your turn…close your eyes. " Renjun then went to pull the scarf out and scooted over to Haechan, wrapping it around his neck. Haechan opened his eyes then looked down, grinning and holding the ends of the scarf.
"Oh my gosh…Renjunie…This is the cutest…Great minds think alike huh??" Haechan almost let out a squeal seeing Renjun's ears turn a bit red. He pulled him in for a tight and tender hug and rocked them side to side. " I love it so much, Renjuniiiee!! I'm never gonna take it off!"
" Oh you…I'm glad you love it. I can't believe we thought the same thing though! So wild."
"It's fate! We're soulmates after all." Haechan said, placing their foreheads together and just looking into Renjun's eyes. He closed his eyes and smiled.
Renjun stayed silent, but it was true so nothing needed to be said. He smiled as well then gave Haechan a quick peck on his nose. "Thank you Haechan…for your gift and for loving mine. I live yours too…even if you gave me two…I should have thought of that…" he began to worry a little bit. Haechan placed a finger on his lips.
"Shhhh it's fiine! Don't worry about that! I just couldn't decide! I'll accept anything from you anytime. One scarf is plenty. Hehe." Haechan said pulling him close then laying down with Renjun on top of him.
"Mm…okay. I'm glad you're well."
" Same to you! I love you Renjunie!" He said, rubbing his back in small circles."
" I love you too…" Renjun said, smiling and laying his head on his chest.
They then took a nap. Both being tired and happy while being full as well.
