A brand new look

Summary:

Wheatley decided to get a major upgrade, and both him and Scout couldn't be happier.

A short lil oneshot that'll hopefully make someone's day

[WELCOME BACK, WHEATLEY]

As Wheatley slowly adjusted to consciousness again, he noticed how different he felt. He knew that being upgraded would mean a completely new world would be open for him, but already he found himself staring in awe at the torso he found himself attached to, kicking up the legs that lay at the other end. It knew that the engineer next to him was explaining something, but it was too busy moving new arms back and forth, almost entranced by how quickly they responded to it. When the man to his right gestured to the opposite side, Wheatley - a little confused - turned to his left and...

Oh... Hello there.

In the mirror he found not a metal ball with one big LED staring at him, nor a similar looking flat disk. He found a completely new face, with bright blue eyes much like someone else's. The hair on his head was a bluish-grey, one that was a little bit darker than the metal that made up most of his face, but not as dark as the metal that made up the remaining bit - which was attached to the lighter side by silvery bolts under his eye. It stared into the mirror, smiling brightly. A warmth started to bubble up that it hadn't felt since...

Since he met the man that allowed him to get to this point. The man that had completely changed his life forever. Now that he thought about it, he should show him the results of so many months of friendship and love.

It sprang up from the table and dashed to the door, only being stopped by a "Woah there buddy!" from Engineer. It turned to see what the man was wanting.

"Don'cha think you should put something on? I know you're a robot an all, but I've got something that would look great on ya." Engineer chuckled softly.

Right! Now that he was more like the others, he should at least look the part too. It followed him to a cabinet and was soon handed a bunch of clothes to put on. Excited to finally be trying on clothes, Wheatley marched in front of the mirror and started putting together the outfit piece by piece.

Oh, Jeremy was going to love this!

Scout was lying sprawled out on his bed, staring up at the poster he often turned to during moments like this. He was trying not to worry about his boyfriend, but he couldn't help but wonder what was happening. How different was he gonna look? Was anything else going to change with him? He hoped not. What if, instead of Wheatley, Scout was given back a sentry??? Surely Hardhat wouldn't do something like that, right???

As the clanking footsteps became more audible, Scout mentally prepared himself for what he was going to see. As the door opened and the familiar voice greeted him, however...

Oh he looked wonderful.

The warm look those blue eyes gave him, the long labcoat that almost floated behind him as he rushed in, the bluish hair bouncing in time with him, the way the bolts on his right side practically completed his face, the oversized red shirt that left his chest barely visible... It was like Christmas had come early for Scout, and it seemed that way for Wheatley too, with how quickly he spoke.

"Look, look, look, look, look!!! I'm like you now! Actually... now that I think about it, I'm a liiittle bit taller aren't I? BUT STILL!! I actually can't believe it! And the clothes as well are perfect! I really do look like part of the te-"

Scout didn't let it finish before he had gotten up from the bed, walked over, and kissed it right on the cheek. He watched as the bot stammered slightly in response, looking over at him with wide eyes.

"I'm glad you're happy, Wheats. The hair suits ya, I think!"

Wheatley smiled the biggest, dorkiest smile Scout had ever seen, before wrapping his new arms around him tighter that either of them had expected, and with such aggression that they both tumbled to the ground. Luckily, no one was hurt, as they had landed next to each other, but they couldn't help but laugh in disbelief that this was even happening.

Wheatley planted a sheepish kiss on Scout's forehead.

"I've always wanted to do that..."

"I've always wanted you to do that too."

They lied there for the next few hours, wrapped in each other's arms for the first time ever. Peacefully admiring both eachother, and this moment. Oh how long they had waited for this moment.

And oh, how it was worth every second.
