“Who’s in your shadow? Who’s ready to play?”
The song of choice plays in my head as I face the man in front of me. He grins at my startled face, but I ignore that since this is a life-or-death situation.
And if I don’t win… I'm dead again.
“Are we the hunters? Or are we the prey?”
The man flashes the gun in my face, his sickening smile still on his face. I glance cautiously at the gun, then back up to the man’s face. I show no fear, like the other times before.
“There’s no surrender and there’s no escape. Are we the hunters? Or are we the prey?”
He has me pinned up against the wall, the gun pushing into my abdomen. He leans down and comes too close to my ear, I want to push him away. But my strength is shot.
“Say hello to your parents for me,” he whispers in my ear.
I close my eyes when I hear the gun click.
“This is a wild game of survival.”
