Ah, it was another day in the Blank Slate. The sky shining from the sun's glorious rays, the contestants had their day off and just wandered around and did whatever they wanted to do. Everything was so peaceful and relaxi-
"STOP ACCUSING ME WITH THIS "PAINT MONSTER" THING. I DIDN'T MAKE IT I'VE TOLD YOU!"
Okay. Maybe not everything.
Team 4, per usual, has started a pointless argument regarding the 4th challenge. Mainly it was just Nabla's and Alef's constant family arguments, but god they were such a disaster.
"You aren't slick Nabs! And your screaming doesn't change anything!!!! I KNOW you made this abomination. It literally has your sign off on the back of its can!" stated the Hebrew letter as he pulled off the paint can from behind him.
"I'M TELLING YOU ONCE AGAIN, I DIDN'T MAKE IT! AND MY SIGN OFF IS JUST MY NAME NOT A TRIANGLE!!" she reassured him with her pitched voice.
Alongside these two, the other Broliance and Leek and Glue fighting, Toothpick always stayed out of these arguments because she fears that if she speaks up, it'll end badly. She's afraid of judgement and thinks that they won't show remorse. Everything literally stresses her out and it's so sad, so she decided to change it.
Today is different.
Today is going to be the last straw.
"That is ENOUGH!!!" she yelled loudly out of the blue, trying to catch her breath to speak up again. "Oh my GOD. QUIT IT!!! PLEASE IT'S SO STUPID. YOU COULD'VE SOLVED THIS ON PRIVATE!!!!!" she cried out loudly, her voice felt sore, her legs feeling weak and her eyes starting to water.
Nothing changed. Nothing.
"YOU BOTH ARE SO FUCKING ANNOYING. SHUT UP!"
Almost breaking her vocal cords, Toothpick was now heard by almost everyone on the Blank Slate.
Everyone stared at her blankly, their pupils diluted and their arms next to them. Alef and Nabla catched a blush from embarrassment and guilt.
Toothpick was just there, trying to hold still because she couldn't just- stand them at all. She was out of breath, her eyes half-lidded and looked like she was about to pass out.
Everything was so weird around her now. Her heart skipping beats and beeping really faster than normal, her limbs weakening a lot and her vision worsening.
That until Lyre grabbed her gently and held her still in her shoulder, patting her head a little, and letting her cry on it.
"It's okay darling, let it out. It isn't anything to be ashamed of." said Lyre as she held her tighter inside of her arms. She felt so embarrassed and thought she did this for no reason, but Lyre's kind words and hums helped her calm down.
Her breathing was calmer and her legs weren't as weak, but she still needed support for when she walked.
Honestly, for Toothpick, Lyre is the only person who understands what she goes through and tries her best to comfort her at rather hard times. And Toothpick appreciates that a whole lot. She is so glad to be with her, to even just know her, to be hugged within her arms, to feel safe with her.
She didn't want to let go off of her yet, her arms made her feel more comfortable than anything. Lyre didn't complain and let her do what felt better to her.
After a while, she let go off her and look at her face with a smile. She kissed her cheek (i couldn't hold it in the toothlyre virus is back) and hugged her once again.
"Thanks… I needed that. Also your shoulder feels nice."
They made a small giggle together, and decided to look back at what the others were doing.
They were crying, yelling apologies to one another because they never realized how harm those arguments cause to their team. Alef and Nabla especially.
They hugged eachother as they made long rants about how they've acted to eachother, specifically Alef and for how he treated her.
Toothpick stared at them with a smile, her arm in Lyre's back, then coming to the realization that someone wasn't here.
"Hey uh. Where did Envelope go again?"
No awnser. But she supposed he's just wandering around mayhaps.
Good for him for doing that, I guess.
