Chapter Text

THE ROAD SO FAR....

You swung your machete as hard as you could and sliced her neck and you watched as her head fell from her body and rolled a few feet away. The Lamia's body collapsed to the floor and wiggled and squirmed around for a while....

"Dean?" You questioned as he nodded. "Dean, is it really you?" You asked him as tears welled up in your eyes. It looked exactly like Dean in all of his handsome glory. Just like you remembered him.

"It's me Y/N." Dean smiled up at you.

"Dean!" You bawled as you bent down and pulled him into a tight hug as you cried your eyes out, releasing all of the pain and sadness you've held onto the last four months. You could feel him rubbing your back comfortingly as he hugged you back....

The high-pitched ringing turned into a whirring noise as you and Dean both held a hand over your ear, you could barely hear the sound of the mirror cracking about your heads. The ringing intensified causing you to drop your pistol and fall on your knees from the pain as you covered both of your ears. Suddenly all of the glass in the room started to shatter around you...You smiled as you shot the chain holding the chandelier up, it fell and caused Sarah to disappear...You apologized as you lit Jack on fire. You watched as he wailed and screamed while he burned...You pulled some metal stakes out of your bag. You punched and kicked the first zombie to the floor and stabbed him in the chest with a stake. Then another came up behind you and you elbowed him in the face as he fell to the ground and you staked him too...Ruby shoved you out the window, you fell and slammed your back into the grass.

"Lilith is trying to break the sixty-six seals to free Lucifer from Hell. Lucifer will bring the Apocalypse." Anna warned....

As you took your shirt off you noticed the long scar that traced from the side of your lower stomach past your waist to your thigh. It was deep and even though it didn't physically hurt, you could still feel the emotional and mental pain as you remembered how those demons tortured you....

You gripped the handle of the machete and ran it through the back of Neil's head piercing his brain. Then you yanked it downwards cutting the cord that connected his brain to his spine...You decided to save Sam first before he got impaled by the spikes. As the rope holding them up tore you ran over and grabbed it and tugged with all your might to stop the spikes from coming down.

"You're possessing some poor b*stard?" Dean asked Castiel.

"This is...a vessel." Castiel stated....

"I had to give my consent to invite him in." Jimmy explained...

As you reeled from the pain Sam kneed you in the face hard, you cried out in pain as you fell to your knees and held your now broken nose. He let his guard down though and you took that moment to shove him back into the hall then you stood up and wiped the blood from your nose. Dean came up behind you and you tried to elbow him in the face, but he grabbed your arm and twisted it behind his back snapping it. You screamed out in pain as you felt your arm break.

"Back off you b*tch, before I kill you!" Ruby hissed as she punched you in the face. You stepped back a bit, before you punched Ruby in the stomach hard causing her to couch up some spit. Then you punched her in the face, grabbed Ruby by her jacket and slammed your head into Ruby's face. While Ruby was reeling from the hit you took that moment to try and stab her with the demon dagger.

"I'm gonna kill you, you lying demon-whore!" You screamed as you were about to stab Ruby....

"You Chuck Shurley?" Dean asked him.

"The Chuck Shurley who wrote the "Supernatural" books?" You rephrased.

"We have a life. You've been using it to write your books." Dean growled.

"Wait, who are you?" Chuck asked you.

"She's Y/N." Sam and Dean answered.

"But that's impossible, you're impossible! You can't be with Sam and Dean. There shouldn't be any Y/N L/N with Sam and Dean. There's no Y/N in any of the books. You shouldn't exist." Chuck ranted....

"Dean, let him go." Castiel suddenly spoke as he appeared behind you and Dean. Dean let go Chuck and you both looked at Castiel. "This man is to be protected."

"Why?" You asked Castiel.

"He's a prophet of the Lord." Castiel revealed...

"Who are you? Reaper? Angel? Demon?" You asked her as you tensed up.

"I'm no one special. Just some nobody who is watching everything unfold from the sidelines." She answered.

"Everything unfold?" You questioned.

"Yes, the brothers Sam and Dean have some dark trials ahead of them, trials that will change them forever, and you are the only person who can make sure they are on the right path." She explained.

"For one why would the angels want the seal to be broken? And why do I have to stop Sam?" You questioned.

"The angels want Lucifer freed so they can start their war with him and the demons. Lilith is the final seal, in order to break the final seal Sam must kill Lilith." Jane revealed.

"So, if I can get to Lilith and kill her before Sam does...then Lucifer won't get freed and the angels won't have a use for Dean." You smiled.

You retorted as you shot Alastair in the chest. He tried to step towards you but he had a hard time moving, the special bullets slowed him down but didn't stop him...You noticed the demon dagger sitting on the table and you picked it up and gripped it hard trying to contain your anger. You shouted as you threw the dagger and it plunged into Alastair's chest.

"If you want to hate anyone, then hate that whore of a demon Ruby who set up this trap in the first place." He shared.

"What?" You questioned as your eyes widened.

He pushed the dagger deeper into your skin and sliced down to your upper thigh. You screamed out in pain as you felt your heartbeat accelerate as the excruciating pain alone felt like it was going to kill you. You glanced down as you watched blood pour out of the wound into a puddle on the ground. You knew no one was going to save you so you had to save yourself. You remembered the spell that demon gave you last year that could kill Lilith. The spell was simple in a sense, all you needed was enough of your blood and the right ritual. You used your left hand to try and fend him off as you dipped your right hand in your blood. Then you began to whisper the ritual under your breath.

"What are you doing praying for someone to save you?" He scoffed.

"No." You spat as you finished the ritual and grabbed his face with your blood-soaked hand. You watched as he screamed out in pain while his face glowed a burning reddish-white color until his body fell down onto the ground next to you limp....

Suddenly you felt yourself get thrown through the glass doors leading into the other room. As you got up you noticed fake Adam charging you, you planted your feet, bent your knees as you grabbed him and used his weight against him to throw him over your head and slam him into the coffee table...Suddenly the shrieker broke one of its claws through the glass window and tried to grab either you or Sam. As you and Sam dived away from the door it shoved the door open and charged at Dean, but Dean fired the flamethrower at the shrieker and you three watched it catch fire and burn.

You grabbed her arm and threw her over you and slammed her in the stone tile. Ruby cried out in pain as you kicked her repeatedly on her side. She twisted her heel around your leg and tripped you as she got up. Then she grabbed your hair and kneed you in the chin again and again. Then she kicked you into the wall on the other side of the hall. Then the rumbling inside the altar room stopped. "You're too late. He did it." Ruby laughed as she grabbed you by your chin and held you up in the air. You noticed Dean out of the corner of your eye. "You're too late." Ruby scoffed at him.

"I don't care." Dean growled as you lifted your legs around Ruby's chest and held her so Dean could plunge the demon dagger in her. She cried out in pain as her body sparked an orange color as she died. Then Dean pulled the dagger out and her body collapsed on the floor.

"Sam!" You and Dean said in unison. You ran up and opened the doors Lilith was on the floor dead and her blood poured across the floor forming a gate.

"Guys! I don't know what happened!" Sam cried in panic as you and Dean walked over to him. "I'm sorry." Sam sobbed as his voice broke. Suddenly the gate opened up with a whoosh and the room started to rumble again.

"We should go." You urged Sam and Dean to leave.

"Sammy, let's go." Dean told him as Dean grabbed his jacket.

"Dean...Y/N...he's coming." Sam whispered as you three grabbed a hold of each other. The light from the gate poured into the room as it consumed everything and you were blinded by a pure, bright, white light.

"Come on." Dean growled as he tugged on Sam's jacket and you three tried to escape.

"Dean! Y/N!" Sam cried as the doors slammed shut. Sam and Dean tried to force or break the doors down but they were too thick. The rumbling and light intensified as a loud high-pitched metallic ringing sound pierced your ears. You guys looked towards the gate as you covered your ears and groaned from the pain. As the light from the gate began to consume you and the boys you closed and shielded your eyes. Suddenly everything became quiet and calm. You opened your eye and moved your hands to find that you, Sam, and Dean were now on an airplane.

"What the hell?" Dean questioned as you three looked around.

"I don't know." Sam gasped.

"Folks, quick word from the flight deck. We're just passing over Ichester, then Ellicott City, on our initial descent into Baltimore..." The pilot spoke over the intercom.

"We were just in Ilchester." You mumbled.

"So if you'd like to stretch your legs, now would be a good time to--Holy crap!" The pilot shouted over the intercom as the plane started shaking and became unstable. The passengers began to panic and scream as the oxygen masks were released. The high-pitched metallic ringing came back and the windows of the plane glowed a bright, white light. As the plane started falling you and the boys put the oxygen masks on and braced for impact.

Thankfully the light and ringing passed and the plane was able to make an emergency landing. You guys got a car and left as quickly as you could. "...And Governor O'Malley urged calm, saying it's very unlikely an abandoned convent would be a target for terrorists, either foreign or homegrown." A reporter spoke over the radio.

"Change the station." Dean told Sam.

"Hurricane Kinley, unexpectedly slamming into the Galvestion area...Announced a successful test of the North Korean nuclear...Tremors baffled...Swine flu..." The radio played different news reports as Sam kept switching stations before shutting it off entirely. Things were a bit awkward in the car as you all sighed.

"Guys--" Sam began.

"Don't. Don't say anything. It's okay." Dean grumbled as he focused on the road.

"We just got to keep our heads down and hash this out, all right?" You perked up trying to keep the mood positive.

"Yeah, okay." Sam nodded.

"All right, well, first things first--how did we end up on "soul plane"? Dean wondered.

"My best guess would be angels." You voiced. "They've got the juice to beam us out of harm's way."

"Well, whatever, it's the least of our worries. we need to find Cass." Dean decided. He drove you guys to Chuck's house which was the last place Dean saw Cass. Chuck's house was a mess everything was torn up and there were blood splatters everywhere. You stepped over debris and over-turned furniture as you three looked for any sign of Chuck or Cass. As you looked around you guys heard creaking in the other room you all turned to look and you slowly walked into the room where the creaking came from. All of a sudden Chuck appeared and hit Sam across the face with a coat rack.

"Oh!" Sam cried out as he stumbled back a bit. "Geez! Ow!"

"Sam." Chuck gasped with surprise.

"Yeah!" Sam growled.

"Hey, Chuck." Dean greeted Chuck.

"Hi, Chuck." You waved to him.

"So...you're okay?" Chuck asked Sam.

"Well, my head hurts." Sam retorted.

"No, I mean--I mean, my--my last vision. You went, like, full-on Vader. Your body temperature was one-fifty. Your heart rate was two hundred. Your eyes were black." Chuck explained.

"Your eyes went black?" You and Dean asked Sam in unison with concern written all over your faces.

"I didn't know." Sam murmured as he looked back at you two.

"Where's Cass?" Dean asked Chuck.

"He's dead. Or gone. The archangel smote the crap out of him. I'm sorry." Chuck whimpered.

"You're sure?" You questioned.

"I mean, maybe he just vanished into the light or something." Dean suggested.

"Oh, no. He, like, exploded. Like a water balloon of chunky soup." Chuck described as he walked closer to you three.

"You got a..." Sam trailed off as he pointed at his face.

"Uh...right here?" Chuck asked as he pointed to the side of his head. Chuck was covered in blood splatters and guts.

"Uh, the..." Sam continued as he pointed at the other side of Chuck's head.

"Oh." Chuck mumbled as he pulled a tooth out of his hair. "Oh, God. Is that a molar?" Chuck asked as he showed you guys the blood-soaked tooth. "Do I have a molar in my hair?"

"Ugh, that's sick." You gagged as you turned away.

"This has been a really stressful day." Chuck cried.

"Cass, you stupid b*stard." Dean growled.

"Stupid? He was trying to help us." Sam pointed out.

"Yeah, exactly." Dean agreed.

"So, what do we do now?" You wondered.

"I don't know." Dean sighed.

"Oh, crap." Chuck gasped.

"What?" Dean asked him.

"I can feel them." Chuck expressed.

"I thought we'd find you here." Zachariah spoke as he appeared behind you four. You and the boys turned around and saw Zachariah with two of his angel goons. "Playtime's over, Dean. Time to come with us."

"You just keep your distance, as*-hat." Dean growled at Zachariah.

"You're upset." Zachariah noticed.

"Yeah--a little. You sons of b*tches jump-started judgment day!" Dean shouted angrily.

"Maybe we let it happen. We didn't start anything." He argued. "Right, Sammy?"

"Yeah, but you had the power to stop it, and you didn't that's just as bad as pulling the trigger yourself." You spat.

"Eh, ethics--You and Dean had a chance to stop Sam, and you couldn't. So let's not quibble over who started what. Let's just say it was all our faults and move on. 'Cause like it or not...it's Apocalypse now. And we're back on the same team again." Zachariah ranted.

"Is that so?" Dean questioned.

"You want to kill the devil. We want you to kill the devil. It's...synergy." Zachariah shurgged.

"You really expect us to trust me?" You scoffed.

"Cram it with walnuts, ugly." Dean hissed.

"This isn't a game, kids. Lucifer is powerful in ways that defy description. We need to strike now, hard and fast--before he finds his vessel." Zachariah warned.

"His vessel?" Sam wondered. "Lucifer needs a meat suit?"

"He is an angel. Them's the rules." Zachariah chuckled. "And when he touches down, we're talking for horsemen, red oceans, fiery skies--the greatest hits. You can stop him, Dean. But you need our help."

"You listen to me, you two-faced douche--after what you did, I don't want jack squat from you!" Dean growled.

"You listen to me, boy! You think you can rebel against us? As Lucifer did?" Zachariah chuckled. "You're bleeding?"

"Oh, yeah." Dean smirked. "A little insurance policy in case you dicks showed up." Dean smiled as he slid the door out and revealed an angel-dispelling sigil that he prepared ahead of time.

"No!" Zachariah cried as Dean put his hand on it casting the angels away.

"Learned that from my friend Cass, you son of a b*tch." Dean growled.

"This sucks as*." Chuck complained. You and the boys left Chuck's house and found a hotel to stay at while you figured out your next move. While you and Dean checked your inventory of weapons and tools Sam went out to find some hex bags for you three.

"Hey." You and Dean greeted Sam as he entered the motel room.

"Hey. Here." Sam cleared his throat as he tossed you and Dean each a hex bag. "Hex bags. No way the angels will find us with those. Demons, either, for that matter."

"Great, where'd you find it?" You asked him.

"I made it." Sam answered.

"How?" Dean asked.

"I...I learned it from Ruby." Sam stuttered.

"At least that b*tch was good for something." You muttered under you breath.

"Speaking of...how you doing?" Dean asked Sam. "Are you jonesing for another hit of b*tch blood or what?"

"I-it's weird. Uh, tell you the truth, I'm fine. No shakes, no fever. It's like whoever...put me on that plane cleaned me right up." Sam explained.

"Gotta love, supernatural methadone." You chuckled.

"Yeah, I guess. Dean--" Sam began.

"Sam. It's okay. You don't have to say anything." Dean assured Sam.

"Well, that's good. Because what can I even say? "I'm sorry"? "I screwed up"? Doesn't really do it justice, you know? Look, there's nothing I can do or say that will ever make this right--" Sam rambled on.

"So why do you keep bringing it up?!" Dean yelled. "Look, all I'm saying is, why do we have to put this under a microscope?"

"It's simple, the best way to fix this is to take down the evil son of a b*tch before he can wreak too much havoc." You smiled.

"All right, so, say this is just any other hunt. You know? What do we do first?" Dean asked Sam.

"We'd, uh, figure out where the thing is." Sam answered.

"All right. So we just got to find...the devil." Dean sighed. The next morning you guys hung around the hotel room trying to figure out how you could find the devil. Sam sat at the table, Dean lounged on his bed, and you relaxed on the couch.

"But then how would you explain an earthquake, a hurricane, and multiple tornadoes, all at the same time, all around the globe? Two words--carbon emissions." The news report played in the T.V.

"Yeah, right, wavy gravy." Dean grumbled.

"End of the world, and T.V. still sucks." You sighed. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. You three glanced at each other then at the door. No one was supposed to know you were staying here. Dean pulled his pistol out as he and Sam walked cautiously to the door. You grabbed your pistol off the end table by the couch and got up. You and Dean covered while he opened the door. There was a young, petite woman with dirty blonde hair, she gasped and stared at Sam with shock and awe on her face.

"You okay, lady?" Sam asked her.

"Sam...is it really you?" She sobbed as her voice cracked. She stepped forward and rubbed her hand over Sam's chest. "And you're so firm." She giggled.

"U-uh, do I know you?" Sam stuttered as he asked her.

"No. But I know you. You're Sam Winchester. And you're...not what I pictured." She trailed off as she looked at Dean. "And who are you?" She asked you as she glared at you.

"Who are you?" You retorted.

"I'm Becky. I read all about you guys." She shared gleefully as she walked into the room. "And I've even written a few--" She giggled nervously. "Anyway...Mr. Edlund told me where you were."

"Chuck?" Dean asked as Sam closed the door.

"He's got a message, but he's being watched. Angels. Nice change-up to the mythology, by the way. The demon stuff was getting kind of old." Beck ranted.

"Right. Just, um...what's the message?" Sam asked her.

"He had a vision."The Michael sword is on Earth. The angels lost it."" Becky quoted.

"The Michael sword?" You questioned.

"Becky, does he know where it is?" Sam asked her.

"In a castle, on a hill made of forty-two dogs." Becky answered.

"Forty-two dogs?" Dean wondered.

"Are...you sure you got that right?" Sam asked her.

"It doesn't make sense, but that's what he said. I memorized every word...for you." Becky whimpered and shivered as she stroked Sam's chest again.

"Um...Becky, c--uh, can you...quit touching me?" Sam asked her.

"No." Becky refused. She left about ten minutes later and Sam called Bobby to get his help. Thankfully Bobby was kind enough to go pick up the Impala and bring it to the motel you three were staying at.

"Hey, Bobby." Dean greeted Bobby with a hug as he opened the door.

"Good to see you kids all in one piece." Bobby expressed as he hugged Sam. Then hugged you.

"You weren't followed, were you?" Dean asked Bobby.

"You mean by angels, demons, or Sam's new superfan?" Bobby quipped.

"You heard." Sam scoffed.

"I heard, Romeo." Bobby nodded. "So...sword of Michael, huh?"

"Could we be talking about an actual sword wielded by the archangel Michael?" You wondered.

"You better friggin' hope so." Bobby mumbled. Bobby pulled out a book on the lore and showed you guys a picture of Michael as you, Sam, and Bobby sat down at the table and Dean just hovered over the three of you. "That's Michael--toughest sumb*tch they got."

"You kidding me? Tough? That guy looks like Cate Blanchett." Dean commented.

"Well, I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley, believe me. He commands the heavenly host. During the last big dust-up upstairs, he's the one who booted Lucifer's as* to the basement. And he did it with that sword. So if we can find it..." Bobby explained.

"We can shove Lucifer's feathered-as* back into Hell all over again." You smiled.

"All right. So, where do we start?" Sam wondered.

"Divvy up and start reading--try and make sense of Chuck's nonsense." Bobby shrugged. Sam stood up and walked away from the table as he had a stressed, frustrated look on his face. "Kid? You all right?" Bobby asked Sam.

"No, actually." Sam sighed. "Bobby, this is all my fault. I'm sorry."

"Sam..." Dean began.

"Lilith did not break the final seal. Lilith was the final seal." Sam revealed.

"Sam, don't--" You began to tell him.

"I killed her, and I set Lucifer free." Sam admitted.

"You what?!" Bobby gasped.

"You guys warned me about Ruby, Y/N kept trying to tell me til she was blue in the face, the demon blood, but I didn't listen. I brought this on." Sam expressed. Bobby got up and walked towards Sam as he stared at him.

"You're d*mn right you didn't listen." Bobby nodded. "You were reckless and selfish and arrogant."

"I'm sorry." Sam apologized.

"Oh, yeah? You're sorry you started Armageddon? This kind of thing don't get forgiven, boy. If, by some miracle, we pull this off...I want you to lose my number. You understand me?" Bobby spat at Sam.

"There's an old church nearby. Maybe I'll go read some of the lore books there." Sam quivered as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Yeah. You do that." Bobby nodded. Sam quietly walked out of the motel room and closed the door behind him. You grabbed your bag on the couch and began to leave.

"Where are you going?" Dean asked you.

"I'm going to go help Sam out." You muttered as you left and went downstairs to find Sam. Bobby was right, but Sam was blaming himself more than everyone else was. You could tell how much Sam was hurting. As you exited the motel you looked around and saw Sam down the sidewalk a few buildings ahead of you. "Sam!" You called out as you ran to catch up to him.

"Y/N, what are you doing?" Sam wondered as he matched your pace.

"I wanted to help you check out the lore books at the church." You smiled.

"You don't need to do that." Sam murmured.

"You're right, I don't need to. I want to." You nodded.

"You must hate me, after everything that happened, this last year." Sam mumbled.

"I'll admit this last year was very taxing, and you might have pulled the pin on the whole Apocalypse thing, but I don't hate you. I'm actually relieved; it's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders." You explained.

"Relieved?" Sam questioned.

"Uh-huh. I was worried that I would lose you--you and Dean for good, and I felt like I wasn't strong enough to save you guys. For all that talk, I couldn't stop you, I couldn't stop Lilith, I couldn't even kill Ruby without Dean's help." You went on. "We're all to blame for what happened, you, me, Dean, then angels and demons, so, just--don't shoulder all the blame yourself."

"Y/N..." Sam whispered.

"We can't change what happened, all we can do is stick together and kick Lucifer's as*." You declared.

"Yeah, thanks Y/N." Sam nodded as he thought about what you said. You and Sam went to read up on the lore at the church for a few hours, and when you couldn't get a hold of Dean or Bobby you and Sam went back to the motel to check on them. When Sam opened the door Bobby was laying on the floor stabbed and Dean was trying to fight off two demons. "No!" Sam shouted as the black-haired demon hit Sam in the face with the telephone.

"Heya, Sammy. Y/N. You guys miss me? 'Cause I sure missed you." The black-haired demon cooed.

"Meg?" Sam questioned. Sam tried to punch Meg but she ducked and punched him in the stomach. You grabbed Meg's arm and twisted her as you slammed her onto the floor.

"Ahh!" Meg cried as you shoved your knee into her back and twisted her arm around her back.

"Go help Dean!" You told Sam. He nodded and went over to get the other demon off of Dean. "Long time no see, Meg, how was Hell?" You growled at her.

"I see you're not the wimpy little puppy who followed Sam and Dean with your tail between your legs." Meg chuckled.

"Oh, you have no idea." You mumbled. You looked up and found that the other demon managed to overpower both Sam and Dean.

"Shouldn't look away." Meg sneered as she twisted her free arm, grabbed your hair and yanked you to the floor. Then she rolled over on top of you and started punching you repeatedly as you tried to block her attacks. You heard screaming and the sound of Dean killing the other demon with the dagger. You glanced over and saw Dean approaching Meg with it. She quickly got off of you and escaped from the body she was possessing. You guys quickly grabbed Bobby and took him to the nearest hospital. You opened the door for Sam and Dean was she supported Bobby into the hospital.

"We need some help here!" You called for help as you three walked into the hospital.

"What happened?" A nurse asked as she walked up to you guys.

"He was stabbed." Dean told her.

"Can we get a gurney?" She called to another nurse. They brought a gurney over and Sam and Dean laid Bobby on it. "Just wait here." The nurse told you three was she blocked your way.

"No, no, we--we can't just leave him!" Sam cried as you watched the nurses cart Bobby down the hall.

"Just don't move. I've got questions." The nurse stated before walking away.

"Sammy, we got to go." Dean warned Sam.

"No. No way, Dean." Sam disagreed.

"The demons heard where the sword is." Dean shared. "We got to get to it before they do, if we're not too late already. Come on." Dean urged you and Sam outside to the Impala. Dean drove you guys to one of John's old store units, where supposedly, the Michael's sword was held. Dean opened the trunk and you all loaded your pistols and a couple of shotguns. You followed Sam and Dean into the building and Dean found John's unit and unlocked it, while you and Sam kept watch for any demons. When he opened the door you found two corpses laying on top of a devil's trap.

"I see you told the demons where the sword is." Zachariah spoke up as he came out of the shadows.

"Hooray, the angels are here, we're saved." You exclaimed sarcastically.

"And to think...they could have grabbed it any time they wanted." Zachariah implied as he closed the door to the unit. "It was right in front of them."

"What do you mean?" Sam asked.

"We may have planted that particular piece of prophecy inside Chuck's skull, but it happened to be true. We did lose the Michael Sword. We truly couldn't find it. Until now. You've just hand-delivered it to us." Zachariah explained.

"We don't have anything." Dean stated.

"Dean." You realized.

"What?" Dean wondered as he looked at you.

"Bingo, give the girl a cookie, she figured it out. I guess we know whose the brains behind your operation." Zachariah commented. "You're the Michael Sword." He revealed as he looked at Dean.

"What, you thought you could actually kill Lucifer?" Zachariah asked. "You simpering wad of insecurity and self-loathing? No. You're just a Human, Dean. And not much of one."

"What do you mean, I'm the Sword?" Dean asked.

"You're Michael's weapon. Or, rather, his...receptacle." Zachariah shared.

"I'm a vessel?" Dean questioned.

"You're the vessel. Michael's vessel." Zachariah nodded.

"How? Why--why me?" Dean wondered.

"Because you're chosen! It's a great honor, Dean." Zachariah proclaimed.

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, life as an angel condom. That's real fun. I think I'll pass, thanks." Dean refused.

"Joking. Always joking. Well...no more jokes." Zachariah sighed as he pointed a finger at Sam's leg. "Bang." You heard one of Sam's bones crack.

"Ahh! God!" Sam cried as he fell to the ground.

"You son of a b*tch!" Dean seethed.

"That's playing dirty!" You growled.

"Keeping mouthing off, I'll break her next." Zachariah threatened. "I am completely and utterly through screwing around. The war has begun. We don't have our general. That's bad. Now, Michael is going to take his vessel and lead the final charge against the adversary. You understand me?"

"How many Humans die in the crossfire, huh? A million? Five, ten?" Dean asked.

"Probably more. If Lucifer goes unchecked, you know how many die? All of them. He'll roast the planet alive." Zachariah retorted.

"There's a reason you're telling us this instead of just nabbing me. You need my consent. Michael needs my say-so to ride around in my skin." Dean figured.

"Unfortunately, yes." Zachariah nodded.

"Well, there's got to be another way." Dean insisted.

"There is no other way." Zachariah shook his head. "There must be a battle. Michael must defeat the serpent. It is written."

"Yeah, maybe. But, on the other hand...eat me." Dean spat. "The answer's no."

"Okay. How about this? Your friend Bobby--we know he's gravely injured. Uh, say yes, and we'll heal him. Say no, he'll never walk again." Zachariah offered.

"No." Dean refused.

"Then how about we heal Y/N from...stage-four stomach cancer?" Zachariah suggested. Suddenly pain rushed through your body as you started coughing up blood and your body got weak as Dean tried to support you.

"You can stuff your feathers up your as*, you egotistic dick." You spat between coughing fits and blood. Dean hesitated for a second.

"No." Dean repeated as he held you.

"Then let's get really creative. Uh, let's see how...Sam does without his lungs." Zachariah went on. Dean looked back at Sam as he gasped for breath and started to turn blue in the face. "Are we having fun yet? You're going to say yes, Dean."

"Just kill us." Dean growled.

"Kill you? Oh, no. I'm just getting started." Zachariah smiled. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light and rumbling as Zachariah turned around. You three watched as Cass appeared and fought and killed Zachariah's goons. "How are you..."

"Alive?" Cass finished Zachariah's question. "That's a good question. How did these three end up on that airplane? Another good question, 'Cause the angels didn't do it. I think we both know the answer, don't we?"

"No." Zachariah gasped. "That's not possible."

"It scares you. Well, it should. Now, put Sam and Y/N back together and go. I won't ask twice." Castiel demanded. Zachariah disappeared and you and Sam returned to normal, you both took a few deep breaths as you three stood up. "You three need to be more careful." Cass advised you as he walked over to you, Sam, and Dean.

"Yeah, I'm starting to get that." Dean nodded. "Your frat brothers are bigger dicks than I thought."

"I don't mean the angels. Lucifer is circling his vessel. And once he takes it, those hex bags won't be enough to protect you." Castiel explained as he put his hands on Sam and Dean's chest as they both groaned and then on your chest. You groaned as you felt a burning sensation, it was like something was being carved into your ribs.

"What the hell was that?" Dean strained to ask.

"An Enochian sigil. It'll hide you from every angel in creation, including Lucifer." Castiel answered.

"What'd you do brand it into us?" You groaned.

"No. I carved it into your ribs." Cass stated.

"Hey, Cass, were you really dead?" Sam asked. "Yes." Castiel nodded.

"Then how are you back?" Dean asked. Cass didn't answer he just disappeared. You and the boys returned to the hospital to check on Bobby. You three stood in Bobby's room as the doctor broke the news to Bobby.

""Unlikely to walk again"?! Why, you snot-nosed son of a b*tch! Wait till I get out of this bed! I'll use my game leg and kick your friggin' as*!" Bobby screamed as the doctor ran out of his room. "Yeah, you better run! You believe that yahoo?"

"Screw him. You'll be fine." Dean assured Bobby.

"So, let me ask the million-dollar question. What do we do now?" Sam chuckled.

"Well...we save as many as we can for as long as we can, I guess." Bobby mumbled. "It's bad. Whoever wins, Heaven or Hell, we're boned."

"What if we win?" Dean wondered. "I'm serious. I mean, screw the angels and the demons and their crap apocalypse. They want to fight a war, they can find their own planet. This one's ours, and I say they get the hell off it. We take 'em all on. We kill the devil. Hell, we even kill Michael if we have to. But we do it our own d*mn selves."

"I hope you've got a plan." You commented.

"Nope, but what I do have is a G.E.D. and a "give 'em hell" attitude, and we'll figure it out." Dean smirked.

"You are nine kinds of crazy, boy." Bobby mentioned.

"It's been said." Dean shrugged. "Listen, you stay on the mend. We'll see you in a bit." Dean said goodbye to Bobby as you two walked into the hall.

"Sam?" Bobby called Sam as he followed you and Dean. "I was awake. I know what I said back there. I just want you to know that...that was the demon talking. I ain't cutting you out, boy. Not ever."

"Thanks, Bobby." Sam sighed.

"You're welcome. I deserve a d*mn medal for this, but...you're welcome." Bobby smiled. You guys left the hospital and walked across the parking lot to the car.

"You know, I was thinking, guys--maybe we could go after the Colt." Sam suggested.

"Why? What difference would that make?" Dean wondered.

"That's a good idea, we could use it on Lucifer." You agreed.

"I mean, you just said back there--" Sam explained.

"I just said a bunch of crap for Bobby's benefit." Dean scoffed. "I mean...I'll fight. I'll fight till the last man, but let's at least be honest. I mean, we don't stand a snowball's chance, and you both know that. I mean, Hell, you of all people know that, Sam."

"Dean...is there something you want to say to me?" Sam asked.

"I tried, guys. I mean, I really tried. But I just can't keep pretending that everything's all right. Because it's not. And it's never going to be. You chose a demon over your own brother and Y/N, and look what happened." Dean expressed.

"I would give anything--anything--to take it all back." Sam cried.

"I know you would. And I know how sorry you are. I do. But, man...you were the one I depended on the most. And you let me down in ways that I can't even...I'm just--I'm having a hard time forgiving and forgetting here. You know?" Dean ranted on.

"What can I do?" Sam asked.

"Honestly? Nothing. I just don't...I don't think that we can ever be what we were. You know? I just don't think I can trust you." Dean admitted. You watched as Dean turned around and get into the Impala while Sam was just lost in his thoughts. You had a feeling there was a long bumpy road ahead of you.
