There's something to be said when a guy from a future you’ll never see comes back in time and decides that he would rather stay in the past. What it is, exactly, isn’t something Hitoshi of all people can truly have an answer for. All he knows is that Deku’s now constant, uninhibited, presence has effects on UA (Unintended or… otherwise.) And for this reason and only this reason (Really, there's no other reason) Yuuga and Hitoshi become the titular duo around class 1A. If Shoto felt his Hitoshi-Shota lovechild theory had any merit, he’ll soon have what he’ll forever claim to be solid proof. And maybe some backing for a Yuuga-Hizashi theory, though that will stay buried if he has anything to say about it.
–
For a man who really did just show up out of nowhere, Deku was really comfortable standing at the front of their class and utterly decimating whatever mental stability they all had. Hitoshi was half tempted to applaud him for the number of times he's brought Denki to tears by just standing there. “So yeah, I’ll be here for the foreseeable future. There won’t be any time-related consequences and there's no one I'm leaving behind so you all have nothing to worry about.” He grinned, leaning against the podium like it could handle any more of his weight. Hitoshi would like to say no one was worried but, considering how deep into his theory notebook Shoto was, at least someone had doubts. Probably.
He turned to Izuku to try and gauge his reaction to this news but he wasn’t surprised to see that staring at the back of his head brought up no reasonable deductions. He’ll just assume that the fact that he's sitting calmly means he expected this. He then turned to Aizawa and then immediately turned away to offer his teacher a little bit of privacy. Hitoshi could tell from the look on his face that he was feeling many things at once. It would probably be better to not try and figure out what those things were though. For his own sanity.
Hitoshi has a feeling that this first week is going to be a fun one.
–
Hitoshi was incorrect, the first week was the best and by far the most entertaining thing he's seen in a while. Nedzu had decided to give Deku a better job as UA’s resident quirk counselor, Heroics course teacher for ‘Worst Case Scenarios’ whatever that means, something in the Business course that has all the students looking at him like hes the second coming of Jesus, and resident substitute for Gen-ed courses. His schedule is so packed that its almost like Nedzu regretted his decision to let Deku keep coming back. Though it doesn’t stop Deku from giving the students blackmail on Shota any chance he gets (He says thats not his intention but he knows what hes doing).
If Hitoshi didn’t spend a significant amount of time with Aizawa he’d be worried about someone coming for his title as ‘reigning champion of Distressed Aizawa photos’.
–
Day 1 of the first week of Deku’s permanent residence was the second-best day of Hitoshi’s life.
Of course, he didn’t actually know that yet and sure the entirety of school was basically just review because the faculty was so excited to have a new teacher on board, permanently this time. But watching Shota find every opportunity to get as far from Deku as possible and still somehow end up right back in the same room as him every time? It was glorious. Hitoshi could barely contain his hysterics watching Shota run himself ragged trying to escape from Deku’s line of sight. At some point, he even walked out of one door only to immediately walk in through the other. It was kind of ridiculous.
Of course, this only served to make Deku even more of a prime target in Hitoshi’s eyes. He already wanted to get close to him for… reasons… but seeing how good he was at driving his mentor insane elevated his image of Deku to near-godlike levels.
Hitoshi’s reasons for wanting to learn under Deku were honest. Promise.
–
Hitoshi was not good at keeping promises.
The second day of the first week gave everyone a front-row seat to why Deku and Izuku Midoriya should never have met. They thought that Nedzu’s “Get to class Dry” was bad, try school-wide “capture the flag” where the flag is a 6-foot even master of disguise with a penchant for emotional damage. Deku was a monster, a god, an irritating pinwheel of a person. Watching him sprint through the school only to disappear into thin air was horrifying because no one had any idea where he'd show up next. Shinso had just taken up stalking Aizawa since he seemed to be using Deku’s ‘Aizawa Magnet’ against him. It helped that Deku sought the man out just to twist his last nerve before skittering away giggling like a madman.
Hitoshi had a front-row seat to watch Aizawa slowly lose all semblance of his calm rationality. He was like a machine coded only to find Deku. It was kinda terrifying how good he was at it too. If only he could actually catch him. At one point Hitoshi ran into Yuuga when finding a new vantage point to track Aizawa from and from there came the best team-up since Midnight and, Sato surprisingly, agreed to keep the bomber jacket thing going. He and Yuuga had a tacit understanding, they were running on the same brain cell, though neither of them were quite sure what it was aiming for. But they only ever lost sight of Aizawa twice after teaming up together so it seemed to be working in their favor.
It was only after 9 hours and the entire student body being pushed to the limit that Deku was actually caught. Most people would have given up by now but this is UA. Those who call this place their own are too stubborn to let one man best them. It took a group effort of at least 100 students and the best minds of the support and business courses to finally grab him, and even then they had to have Izuku flying rapidly through the building on Deku’s tail to even have that slim chance.
If Hitoshi didn’t know any better he’d say that the students really did catch Deku all on their own. But He wasn’t about to burst that giggly bubble of glee the group surrounding him had.
The barbeque buffet they got as a reward after sure did soothe his pride though.

Day number three was a rest day after the insanity that was ‘Capture the flag’. Nedzu had his fun and since he wasn’t a monster he agreed to let the clubs and classes have an impromptu showcase. Hitoshi still has no idea how they got it ready so fast but going from one hallway that was a hazard zone of blown up machinery to another that was two steps shy of a fairy wonderland he figured it would be better not to ask.
Around halfway through the day he wound up with Yuuga again, which was entirely an accident by the way, as they trailed Aizawa. It started to become his favorite pass time, watching Aizawa wander around like a ghost through the halls only to be the most alert person in the room the second he saw a hint of green hair. At some point, Yuuga passed him some cheesy popcorn, no idea where he got that, and they slowly ate their way through that until Deku eventually scared Aizawa too far away for them to follow without being suspicious.
“... Well, what shall we do next Mon Ami?” Yuuga turned to him like he had an answer.
He just shrugged.
Yuuga smiled, it was kinda bright. “Then we should check out the Tea club, I hear they have homemade macaroons from Sato today!” He started trotting off in the opposite direction. He was heading towards the off-kilter fairy land hallway.
Hitoshi followed. He had nothing better to do.
–
Day four… they don’t talk about day four in too much detail. They started classes again, unaware of the consequences. There were… major consequences… Hitoshi is still sore.
–
Day five was another normal class day, this one going much better than the day we shall not name. Deku and Hizashi started tag teaming to drag Aizawa into some very concerning games during lunch but other than that it was kinda normal. Day Six was nearly the same, only this time Aizawa spent most of the day blushing. Hitoshi took many pictures.
–
Day Seven is the reason why Hitoshi knows his life will never be normal again.
On day six there was a gradual buildup of, something under everyone's skin. Everyone was constantly on edge and by the end of the day, Yuuga was glued to Hitoshi’s side looking around anxiously. No one was entirely sure what it was that had everyone so on edge, Hitoshi sure as hell didn’t know. The only one who seemed remotely normal was Nedzu but he knows everything so he doesn’t count. Even Deku was slightly off. He was really great at hiding it though. But even Hitoshi could see how he double-checked the exits.
Then day seven came and Hitoshi wished he could sleep longer than a few hours at a time.
Just like how Deku crashed through walls when he came to this timeline, someone new came in nearly the exact same way, making a large hole in the wall. Everyone immediately turned to Deku who was at the front of the classroom, staring at the wall in shock. Hitoshi would have been concerned until he saw the figure stand up and then everyone was stunned into silence.
Uraraka Fucking Ochaco, built like a tank of a woman and glaring at Deku like he killed her dog, was the one who stood up from the rubble.
Deku wastes no time raising his hands in surrender, “In my defense- “ then he is interrupted by a punch to the face. “‘In your defense-’ my HIND QUARTERS you piece of SHIT!! You knew damn well I would find out you eloped to some other timeline the MOMENT YOU DID!!!” She heaves, starting to lay into him with curse words and the like, shaking him by his shoulders. After about a minute of this, Izuku stands up and yells “I FUCKING KNEW SOMETHING WAS OFF WITH YOU!!!” proceeding to jump out of his chair and run over, joining Uraraka FUCKING Ochaco in berating the man.
Hitoshi and Yuuga share a look, equally lost and equally curious about what the hell is going on here. Slowly, oh so slowly, Momo raises her hand. “WHAT?!” Both URARAKA FUCKING OCHACO and Izuku yell at her, causing the poor girl to flinch. “S-sorry but… Deku said he didn’t leave anyone behind when he said he was here to stay. I was a little confused about how but now you’re here. Could we get an explanation?” Hitoshi felt real sympathy for Deku who was rapidly motioning for her to quiet down. Deku was hiding something, clearly, and somehow his fear of Uraraka Ochaco of the days of future's past (this just means the present) made him want to hide it more.
Too bad Hitoshi was also curious. He raises his hand.
“Yeah about that, how did you both even get here? Deku was only here because of a villain fight before but now you two can time travel whenever you want?”
Deku sweats. Izuku looks so tired. And Uraraka Ochaco, devastatingly beautiful as she is now that anyone can get a calm look at her, turns to look at Deku and says, “You didn’t tell them what happened? You actually kept it a secret from them?” She almost looks impressed. “Hey! I find that insulting!” Deku says from the floor, but Uraraka isn’t paying attention to him anymore, now looking at the class. “Somethings different about you all. Whos your teacher?” She looks at the class, studying their faces, but jumps when the door opens all the way and Aizawa walks through. Aizawa in all his bomber jacket covered glory. “I am their teacher. Deku is just a stand-in for All Might currently. What are you doing here Uraraka, I thought no one from Deku’s past would care if he left.” He says this while pointedly staring at Deku, who is still on the floor. Hes being held down by Uraraka’s foot on his chest. “He said this explicitly when he said he was here to stay.”
Hitoshi feels like he should clarify something. While Aizawa was glaring at Deku, saying his piece, Uraraka was staring at him slack-jawed and in shock. Thankfully, Aizawa does notice after the oppressive silence doesn’t get broken. Though he thinks its mostly because Deku is looking more nervous by the second. “Oh my god, this explains so much.” Uraraka looks down at Deku, “Dude I hope you know you just won me 400 dollars from my sidekicks.”
Hitoshi is gonna get whiplash if the emotions keep changing this fast. He feels Yuuga put a hand on his arm and mentally thanks him.
Thankfully, Aizawa sees this as a good time to end the class. “Go off and do… whatever I don’t care. Just don’t come to bother us.” Then he drags the two time-travelers and Izuku off towards the teacher's lounge probably. Hitoshi spares only one thought to mourn the loss of what the hell they were about to talk about. Oh to be a fly on that wall- Wait.
Hitoshi and Yuuga share a look and then nod before bolting for the vents.
–
“Meeting Adjourned” Nedzu says, banging a gavel from his desk like only the best judge in the world could.
Hitoshi feels enlightened. Sharing a look with Yuuga they both retreat before anyone can point out that they had been aware they were there the whole time. On their walk back to the dorms he lets himself get lost in thought. “How was their world so different than ours my friend? Was Aizawa dying a butterfly effect in their timeline that led to a place so different than the world we live in?” Yuuga asks. Hitoshi just shrugs. “I think its better if we don’t question it too much. Those things won’t happen here because Deku stopped them already.”
Hitoshi watches as Yuuga nods and then stares at the horizon. If it were any other day maybe Hitoshi would think about the implications of an apocalypse of that scale. But today is not that day. Today Hitoshi wants to take Yuuga back to his dorm room and sort through Blackmail photos and cat pictures. Maybe he’ll let Yuuga paint his nails this time too. Maybe.

Days 8 and 9 are two days where the students try yet again to get used to the new normal.
Uraraka Ochako from Deku’s time brute forces her way into a security position at the school. Nedzu seems way too eager for this to really be forced upon him though as he gives her free reign of the school. Hitoshi would be worried about names after this but not long after her arrival Both the Urarakas have a chat and the one from Deku’s time, in the spirit of keeping with tradition, now goes by Uraraka Uravity. Its a bit of a mouthful but no one can really complain. Turns out, Uravity is also rich, so theres no bad blood between her and Ochako.
Uravity spends day 8 getting herself settled into staying here long term, much to Deku’s worry. Hitoshi sees those two together often, talking and roughhousing in the way siblings do. Izuku and Ochaco seem to follow their lead, both students in the know about what's really going on with that other timeline. Yuuga and Hitoshi both are in agreement that if any more people from that other world come then there might be an actual problem with that future, but Deku assures them no one else will be coming through, Uravity was just a special case.
Hitoshi hopes that Deku is right this time but with the way Uravity laughs nervously on the sidelines he feels like there might be at least one or two more people who appear randomly.
In an effort to not be blindsided, he even asks Uravity about it on Day 9. She outright laughs when she replies. “At the point we both were at, no one else should be coming along randomly. Not unless someone went into OUR past and told the others what we were up to in the future.” Uravity then pauses and laughs a little harder, “Oh wow, if that does happen you’ll be in for a ride. I’m so glad i’ll be here to see it.” She turns and walks off, calling for Deku down the hallway whos paling rapidly. Its almost like he heard their conversation.
Hitoshi is not reassured.
–
Day 10 is, overall, pretty chill. Hitoshi is on edge like the rest of the class, expecting something to happen.
Classes go by mostly as normal, Uravity pokes her head in from time to time, doing her own version of rounds for her security position. Deku takes over for All Might again. Where has All Might even been…? Aizawa teaches like a good teacher and then sleeps like a bad one. Hitoshi and Yuuga set up camp near where Deku and Aizawa always eat their lunch, watching as Uravity and Hizashi join them, dragging along Midnight and Snipe.
Overall its a pretty calm day.
Then a large portal opens up in the courtyard and everyone goes into fight or flight mode. The only ones who are calm are Deku and Uravity. Though, unlike Uravity who is sitting calmly and finishing her lunch, Deku stands and speedwalks over to the portal, grabbing the edges of what seems to be a rip in space and starting to pull it closed. At some point, an orange and black-gloved hand reaches through in an effort to stop him but he just bats it away with his eyes closed and a smile on his face. Then he pulls the portal closed like it was a curtain in front of a window.
Hitoshi was right to be worried.
