Work Text:
Aki knew who Angel was the moment they locked eyes. The god of love and desire had many names and epithets, but he introduced himself as Angel, so that was what Aki called him.
Angel looked more like a dainty nymph rather than the dangerous and powerful god he was. He bathed himself in the stream near Aki’s home, his golden skin glowing in the early morning sunlight. He did not look at Aki after they first introduced themselves, although Aki could sense Angel was wary of his presence. He flapped his large ivory wings, shaking off the water droplets in a manner that was both elegant and threatening.
They did not speak that day, nor the second time Aki came across Angel bathing in the stream– but on the third occasion, Aki found his courage.
“I have peaches and apricots, if you would like some,” he said.
Angel blinked at him, then nodded slowly.
Aki nodded back before leaving Angel, who was now lying back on the lush grass and basking in the sunlight with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes again when Aki returned, his long eyelashes fluttering.
Aki carefully approached him, aware that Angel was tracking his every movement, and sat down next to him. He placed the plate of fresh fruit between them, and let Angel take the first pick.
Angel selected a peach, squeezing it slightly as if to check its ripeness. Apparently satisfied, he brought it to his pink lips and sunk his teeth into it, closing his eyes again as he savored the taste.
“Does it please you?”
Angel nodded, a trail of the fruit’s juice dropping down his chin. “I like sweet things.”
“Me too,” Aki said. He picked up an apricot, and the two of them ate together silently.
After that, Angel would visit Aki’s orchard often. They talked, sparsely at first, and then gradually opened up. They amused each other– Aki had never met a god before, and was fascinated that someone with so much power could be so lethargic; Angel had not spent much time with mortals and was confused as to why Aki worked so much if he had so little time to live.
Aki shrugged when Angel asked him about it. He packed his pipe with tobacco and lit it. “I do not have much choice,” he answered, breathing out smoke. “I need to make money in order to keep food in my belly and a roof over my head.”
“Perhaps if you pray to the gods, they will take pity and bless you with good fortune,” Angel said, his lips twitching with a hint of a smile.
“Perhaps,” Aki said with a smirk, more smoke furling from his own lips. “Perhaps I should make an offering.”
“Yes, that would be wise,” Angel agreed. “Your stone fruits in particular are cherished by the gods, or so I’ve heard.”
“Is that so?”
Angel nodded.
Aki plucked a couple peaches from one of the many trees they were walking between and tossed them to Angel, who caught them easily.
“O great and mighty god, I offer you the best of this year’s harvest, and humbly ask for your favor,” Aki said.
Angel, no longer able to fight back his smile, took a bite from one of the peaches. “I will think on it.”
Sometimes Angel would appear in the middle of the day, when Aki was hard at work. He would fly among the trees, perching himself on a branch and eating all the fruit he desired as he watched Aki tend to his property. Sometimes Angel would come by when Aki was not home; Aki could tell the god had been there when he noticed that some of the dried apricots stored in his kitchen had gone missing, or if there were perfect little footprints in the dirt outside. Sometimes Angel would visit just to play with the stray cats, and ignored Aki completely.
Winter came, and with it a sort of stillness, for the harvest season had ended. There was still work to be done, of course, but Aki had never acclimated to this idler time of the year. It should have been restful, yet instead Aki usually felt restless.
This was before Angel was in his life, and the god proved to be a convenient– if not problematic –distraction.
Angel had always been attractive and alluring, Aki knew, but recently it was overwhelming. Aki was beginning to become addicted to Angel’s subtle smiles, his expressive ruby red eyes, his graceful movements. Even the aspects that annoyed him– Angel’s laziness, his complaints, his flightiness –were now cherishable in some twisted way, too. It was dangerous for a human to become involved with any god, but the god of love and desire? It could only end in disaster.
The days were short and the nights were long. One evening, by the time Aki and Angel had finished eating the dinner Aki had cooked, the world was already blanketed in darkness– save for the bright full moon providing a beacon of light.
It was the first time Angel had stayed past sunset, and yet he was still lingering.
“Would you like some wine?” Aki asked.
Angel shook his head.
They were seated on opposite sides of the long wooden table in Aki’s kitchen. It was silent, except for the sound of crickets outside and the occasional owl’s hoot.
And then Angel spoke again.
“Fuck me.”
Aki would not know how to refuse him even if he wanted to. “Alright,” he said.
Up until this moment, they had barely even touched: just the brush of the fingers as they handed something to the other, or the bump of their shoulders as they walked side-by-side. Now, they both stood from the table, and Aki offered his hand.
Angel walked to him, his footsteps silent. He gazed at his hand for a moment, and took it.
Angel’s small hand felt soft and delicate in Aki’s own large and calloused one. Aki kissed Angel’s knuckles, pleased when the god blushed in reaction. He gently tugged Angel’s hand, and Angel let himself be pulled to Aki’s chest.
Aki was so much taller and bigger– but they both knew Angel was quicker and stronger. Maybe that was why, when Angel allowed Aki to hold his face with both hands and press their lips together for a bruising kiss, Aki had never felt more alive.
Angel gasped into the kiss, his hands coming up to grasp onto Aki’s wrists. He opened his mouth to deepen the kiss, sighing as their tongues met. Angel flapped his wings and jumped, wrapping his legs around Aki’s waist. He smiled against his lips when he felt Aki exhale in surprise.
Aki slowly walked them toward the bedroom, Angel giggling at how clumsy he was. Aki grumbled and pulled Angel’s hair in retaliation, but Angel just giggled some more.
Aki threw Angel on his bed, his pulse quickening when Angel took off his tunic and got on all fours in one swift movement.
“Angel…”
The god arched his back, his muscles taut and his skin flawless. He turned to look at Aki. “Please. I need to feel you.”
“Okay,” Aki breathed. He knelt on the bed behind him, and ran a hand down his back. The god shivered under his touch.
Aki took his time, massaging and kissing every bit of bare skin he could reach, before his fingers finally dared to touch Angel’s wings. The feathers were as soft as silk but strong like leather, and they must have been especially sensitive; Angel moaned when Aki began petting his wings.
“I thought I told you to fuck me,” Angel complained, but he was breathless and he pushed back to encourage Aki to keep touching him.
Aki just hummed, now threading his fingers through individual feathers. “So beautiful,” he murmured, reverent. “So smooth…”
“Eloquent,” Angel teased. “You could be a poet to rival even Homer.”
“You think?” Aki grinned. He reluctantly let go of Angel’s wings to instead grip his waist, and turn him over. He basked in the flush on the god’s cheeks, and the lust in his eyes. “Speak to me, O Muse, of the lovely and witty god who likes to steal fruit from some poor sap of a farmer.”
Angel laughed against Aki’s neck, and then ran his fingers through his hair as he lay against the pillow once more. He blinked up at Aki, his big red eyes searching his face. “You think I am lovely?” He asked. “And witty?”
“Among other things.”
“Such as?”
“Lazy. Annoying,” Aki said, sitting up and reaching back to tickle Angel’s foot. Angel scowled and kicked at him, so Aki continued. “Unpredictable. Intimidating. Adorable. Sweet.”
Angel pushed him away with a blush. “Enough.”
“As you wish.”
Aki kissed him again, sliding his hands down his body until he grasped the god’s hard length. He pumped it a few times, and swallowed all of Angel’s whines.
“I said I need to feel you,” Angel whimpered.
“I know,” Aki said, still stroking Angel’s cock. “But you will come again for me, will you not?”
Angel did not answer, just clung onto Aki with desperation as he neared his first orgasm. Aki kissed him through it, sucking marks onto his neck and whispering praises into his ear until Angel came, painting his own stomach and Aki’s hand with his come.
Aki licked his hand clean before licking Angel’s stomach to do the same. His come tasted mostly neutral– a bit bitter just like any man’s come, yet a bit sweet like how he thought ambrosia might taste.
While Angel recovered, Aki reached for the vial of oil on the bedside table. He poured a generous amount onto his hand, and reached between Angel’s legs. Angel moaned in pleasure, spreading his legs wider as Aki began to insert a finger. And then Angel was glaring at him and grabbing at his wrist.
“I told you to fuck me,” he seethed. “Do not make me tell you again.”
Aki nodded, his cock throbbing. Angel got down on his hands and knees again, and Aki did not dare hesitate.
He quickly poured more oil on his cock, and thrust into Angel all at once.
They both moaned, but Aki did not let either of them adjust, and set a punishing pace as he fucked Angel hard. He squeezed his waist, slapped his ass, and pulled on his wings. Aki groaned at the sensation of the feathers in between his fingers again, and hissed when Angel’s hole clenched around his cock.
Aki held both of Angel’s wings with one hand and grabbed onto his long red hair with the other, pulling them both at the same time. Angel gasped and moaned, hips rolling as he fucked back on Aki’s cock. Aki thrusted harder when he felt Angel tense around him, fucking him through his second orgasm.
“Ah, Aki–” Angel gasped, his wings twitching in his grasp. “Coming–”
“Good,” Aki grunted out, his pace remaining steady. “Then I will make you come again.”
Angel cried out and pushed his face into the pillows. But one of his hands found Aki’s– the one pulling his hair –and squeezed it. His touch was tender yet firm, and Aki’s heart swelled with affection.
Aki changed his pace, opting for long and hard strokes in between grinding directly into Angel’s prostate. Aki was close, but he held off from coming, instead burying his face in Angel’s wings, and breathing in deep. He smelled like lavender and honey.
“Aki,” was all Angel could say as he neared orgasm. “Aki…”
As Angel came for the third time, Aki heard himself make an involuntary noise he had never heard himself make before– something between a moan and a whimper and a cry. He was too far gone to be embarrassed, and he pumped his hips three more times before he filled Angel up with his come.
Angel hummed when Aki slumped on top of him, capable of and content with taking his full body weight. When Aki’s head cleared, he carefully pulled out of Angel and laid by his side.
Aki brushed Angel’s hair from his face. “How are you feeling?”
“Good,” Angel whispered. “How are you?”
For some reason, it was that simple question that rendered Aki speechless. He had never been asked that before. Not by a lover– not by anyone, really. And certainly not a god.
“I…” Aki tried to say. I am fine . He could not be weak in front of Angel. If he broke, Angel would find some other less-cloying plaything to entertain him. “I…” Aki tried again, but the words would not come.
Angel just smiled and stroked his jawline with nimble fingers. “Do not worry, you poor sap of a farmer.”
Aki laughed, but still the tears leaked down his cheeks. “I am sorry.”
Angel shrugged. “There is nothing to be sorry for. Would you like to take a bath?”
Aki nodded. It was easier not to speak.
Angel kissed his forehead. “I shall come get you when it is ready, then.”
Aki nodded again, clinging onto the blankets when Angel left the bed.
Aki was still in a daze when Angel returned, and was surprised yet pleased when he felt himself lifted into the god’s arms.
Angel squeezed him close, not letting go even as they entered the hot bathwater. Aki sighed in relief, the sudden warmth immediately comforting him.
Angel’s arms wound their way around Aki’s neck as he sat on his lap. “How are you feeling?” he asked, repeating the same question from earlier.
“Better,” Aki admitted.
“Good,” Angel said, squeezing him closer.
“The peaches will not be in season for many months,” Aki found himself saying.
“Well, I can think of a few things to keep us occupied in the meantime,” Angel answered, pressing a smile to Aki’s throat.
Aki smiled back, and stroked Angel’s hair. “You are right,” he said. “You can help me sell dried fruit at the market–”
Angel shut him up with a kiss. “No,” he said firmly against his lips.
Aki laughed. He felt like he was getting back to his normal self again. “Fine. Then maybe you can just warm my bed for me until I get back.”
“That sounds better,” Angel agreed. “Turn around. I will wash your hair.”
Aki obeyed, not bothering to hide his surprise and pleasure when Angel’s dexterous fingers massaged his head.
“Humans are easy to please,” Angel observed.
“So are the gods, it turns out.”
Angel bit his shoulder, and Aki laughed, his voice coming out breathy as Angel failed to suppress his own giggles.
