Meridian Calamity

Summary:

It's a familiar tale...three girls, one magical music box, and a world of Amphibians. But there are so many dimensions out there. So what if in one timeline instead of a world of sapient Amphibians three girls ended up in another world? A world in midst of a rebellion, a world named Meridian.

Chapter 1: Old box new song

Chapter Text

Lightning flashed in yet another "day" of what seemed like a never ending night in the world and realm of Meridian, and in the capital of this realm sat a dark fortress where the "ruler" of Meridian sat in his throne room glaring seemingly at air filled with rage at the report his loyal servant Cedric gave him on the identified spy who helped the Rebel leader, Caleb, escape.

The thought of said leader caused Phobos to gave a scoff.

"Truly even more of a disrespectful fool that his father before him." He said before gave a growl his mind focused on the revealed spy none other than seemingly one of his most loyal commanders Raythor "Why is it that i'm surrounded and plagued by rebels and traitors alike?! Why can't they see that I am the true ruler Meridian needs?!" He clenched the rests of his throne. "Me not my sister because of some antique custom that's better left in the past."

Phobos gave a deep breath as he collected himself and recalled his servant Cedric report about the new generation of Guardians as he shook his head.

"And now it seems that i'll soon be having Kandrakar interfering in my realm." with a scoff he continued to think aloud to himself in his throne room, "No matter whether they be weathered old crones or naive young fools Kandrakar pawns like the defiant rebels will learn the price for attempting to deny me my birth right." He declared his body brimming with magical power as he slammed his fist on his throne arm rest.

Then, seemingly in response to his words, he suddenly felt a immense source of magical power causing him to look up in shock and anger.

"Kandrakar?...no..." He narrowed his eyes realizing whatever this immense power was it didn't feel like the Guardians power or the power he felt the day Kandrakar raised that cursed veil cutting off his realm from the others.

Yes whatever this power was it was something new..new and powerful. Question is was it a threat or an opportunity.

As all this passed through his head. A powerful burst of green energy came through the ceiling seemingly phasing through it before crashing toward the ground with a loud boom of powerful mystical energy.

With Phobos raising his right arm to block the bright flash of green light.

"Ugggg I didnt expected that." a girl with black hair said as tried to get her bearings "you ok there Anne? Sacha?" she blinked "girls where are.....whoaaaaa!!!!" she looked around in excitement "is this a castle? wait why Im in a castle? GASP could it be?!.." she ran towards the first window she saw "stormy clouds, medieval looking village, are those blue skinned ogres Im seeing? YESSSS!!!!" she yelled with stars on her eyes "the book was right!!! the box worked...i am in another world!!!!!"

Her screams echoed all over the castle.

Phobos, in one of the rare few times in his life, found himself bewildered and confounded at this intruder who appeared in his castle in the heart of his throne room no less. His eyes narrowed as he examined her judging her to be perhaps around the age of his missing sister.

He got up from his throne speaking up as his examination of the intruder continued with him sensing mystical power powerful mystical power in her.

"Not just any world...my world!" He said as he stepped down from his throne room and began to approach the girl as his mind continued to race.

This power he sensed in the girl it matched the energy he felt just moments ago with it obvious that she was connected to it, and may serve as a key to acquiring it for himself.

Phobos eyes gleamed with curiosity and desire for the power that he had sensed as the door to his throne room banged open with a squadron of guards rushing into it though he paid them barely any mind as he spoke up to the intruder the guard surrounded her with a wave of his hand causing them to step back and lower their weapons,

"Now my dear would you care to explain just who is it that has invaded my throne room and why?" He arched his eyebrow at her.

Marcy turned around at the voice and gasped. Her eyes filled with stars as she looked in awe

"Oh My Gosh!!!" she cried "that crown, that hair that outfit!!!" she basically flashed towards him "are you an elf? a wizard, a monk? *gasp* no no wait...you are a warlock!!! right? right? i mean the robe pretty much tell me you are a magic user, and that headdress seems royal like and of course all this palace" she gushed in delight.

The guards around Marcy blinked numbly at the intruder´s exuberance shocked at seeing someone act this way towards their lord.

While Phobos himself found himself once again confounded as he blinked and stared down in surprise at the girl smiling wide up at him, letting some of his surprise slip on his face.

He shook his head as tried to get back control of the situation. Although whoever this girl is at least she knows to treat him with the proper awe he's due. Even if she could use some lessons in restraint and protocol actually surprised to find himself amused.

As those thoughts passed his head he narrowed his eyes staring down into Marcy own as he replied with a smirk and let his body glow with some magical power to further emphasize his next proclamation. "

I am Prince Phobos!" He spread his arms wide, "Rightful and true ruler of the Meridian realm!" He let out a dark little chuckle "And perhaps the most powerful magic user the Escanor line has ever produced." Then pointing toward Marcy he asked with hint of command in his tone, "Now then...who are you my clever little intruder?"

"oh omg protocol of course" she coughed "I am Marcy wu" she said in dramatic tone with a bow "and I...well i suppose I dont have a tittle unless you count being the holder of the most time playing "fantasy adventure 3" for more that 3 days or the holder of the most accidents on a day at school according to Anne but come on! how many accidents could i have in one day?" she extended her arms knocking down and breaking a vase.

everyone stared at her.

"Ehem" she blushed "anyways...you can call me Marcy...your highness" the girl continue "Marcy Wu from Earth"

Phobos eyes widen as he replied back, "Earth." He gave a step forward.

"You're from Earth?" He cupped his chin and examined Marcy form. Most notably her attire as he muttered aloud to himself "Hmm yes..if I recall the guardian leader wore attire like yours." he arched a brow, "But something tells me you aren't with the Guardians are you?" His gaze narrowed "Which begs the question how did you came not only to my realm in the very heart of my palace but managed to pass through Kandrakar´s veil?"

"The who veil?" asked Marcy confused "and guardian? no Im not guardian...well unless you dont count the times i have played the guardian of the labyrinth on my DxD sessions" she shook her head "as for how i ended up here well funny story..it all started with Anne´s birthday" her eyes suddenly widen "OMG ANNE! SASHA! Oh nononono I totally forgot" she looked around until her eyes fell on the guards "you guys havent see two other girls one blonde one brunette?" she palm herself "and a music box with three gems on it?"

The guards all blinked dumbly at each other while giving each other looks only to jump when their master addressed them.

"Well have you?" Phobos stated with powerful glare wanting the answer himself already guessing this music box mentioned might likely possess answers to the power he sensed in the girl, and if Marcy possessed power as well odds are this Anne and Sasha also did.

The guards gulped before one step forward speaking up.

"Apologies my lord but we have seen no sign of either." Phobos cut off his guard with fresh set of orders.

"Then you are to fan out and put the palace on high alert." he turned to the girl "Marcy was it? describe your friends and this box, and I'll have my men search for them." He gave a grin "Rest assured that they won't be harmed, but this is delicate situation that requires cautions and I need answers."

"fweu thanks prince Phobos" she said with a smile "ohhh i just hope they are fine if something happen to them it would be my fault" she said in worry "I should have been more careful...I mean the book said that box could take you to other worlds so I had to try it" she then approached the guards "ok so Anne has brunette hair, quite puffy and soft if you ask me...Sasha is blonde and she is not easy to miss as she had this look that will make you want to pee yourself" she giggled "and both have clothes similar to mine...now the box is somehow this size" she make a form with her hands "and have an image of a frog holding three stones one pink, one green and one blue...Oh I know" she looked into the backpack (thankfully it came with her) and pulled out a book before running to the pages until she reached the page "here it is it looks like this"

Phobos leaned down putting his finger on the page while cupping his chin with his other hand gave a thoughtful hum studying the box design.

"Hmmm..interesting." He said softly to himself as the design of the box stirred memories of some of the contents he studied from the Escanor private and restricted library of information shortly after assuming control of the throne.

While it had been over a decade since he studied about it having just been only couple years older than Marcy potential is and his sister is now, and he now stood as the proud ruler of 28. But despite the years and memory being foggy so refresher in those books might be needed, what he learned about this particular topic this music box might be connected to did stick to him.

After he thought with a dark smirk it's not ever day you learn of a power that gave those arrogant fools of Kandrakar such trouble but held domain across many realms across the infinite dimensions with a seemingly never ending campaign of conquest claiming more.

He than looked into Marcy curious and hopeful gaze.

"Yes..Yes!" He gave her a smile "While it's been many years the design on the box does remind me of something." He than gave a dark frown, "And if i'm right than this situation could be even more dire than I feared dear Marcy."

The girl looked up in fear.

"oh no what what is it tell me!!!" she cried "wait wait dont tell me...is this one of those ancient relic with he power to destroy words that an order of evil bad guys or one super-bad guy is looking for and I inadvertently brought it back causing a war to re-ignite?"

Phobos found himself taken aback and blinking dumbly once again, with a distant part of his mind wondering if this was going to become a new habit. He coughed into his fist.

"Uh..while I can't speak for the latter i'm afraid you're quite right on the former."

He said with grave tone and look while already plotting how to spin his web and gain the girls trust, though that is a matter that's looking easier and easier. He pointed at the picture of the box

"That design is reminiscent of a ancient empire I learned about from my families private books shortly after assuming the throne." He leaned back up not breaking away from Marcy gaze, "This empire laid what seemed like a never ending campaign of conquest across the infinite dimensions." He gave a scoff and dark chuckle, "A campaign that not even the tyrant puppet masters of Kandrakar could stop, not that it stopped them from using this empire as a threat to fuel peoples fear and belief in themselves"

He said with a low growl of annoyance before he sighed heavily, "But just when it seemed like this empire would never stop that's precisely what they did!" He turned around facing away from Marcy while placing his hands cupped together behind his back seemingly in deep thought "According to the records I dug up no one knew what happen with many saying Kandrakar and their Guardian enforcers had brought down this dark empire and save all the dimensions" he spat bitterly, "Though now it's clear that something else happen." He glanced over his shoulder, "Because according to my ancestors journals from what information they managed to learn about the empire the source of what made this empires power possible was music box that held three jewels of great power."

"Ummmm" Marcy hummed "this Kandrakar wouldnt be ruled by some super old looking wizards that act as all-knowing deities right?" she asked "because me and my friends found that box in a trash-shop. whatever or whoever put it on earth this guardians took the credit for it...I bet they dont even know where it was" she murmured "OMG this is like the prequels for galactic empire!!! a wise looking man who in reality is an evil power-hungry tyrant acting all good and wise when in reality he is taking over the universe one planet at the time!!!!" the girl gasped.

While confused at some of the girls references and terminology he could make find himself understanding a bit, and a amused dark smile crossed his face at seemingly how easy this girl is trust his words, and how even Kandrakar was blind to such power being on Earth of all place.

But now..now that power was within his reach on Meridian and just like he took Meridian and he'll take his sister both as rightfully his so to would he claim this power. He turned around facing Marcy again with slight amused smile but intense serious gaze as the guards in the throne room shuffled nervously at the look in his eye.

"Once again exactly on the mark dear Marcy." he gave a little charming girl, "I must say your wit and analyzing skills have proven quite impressed." he shook his head with a sigh, "As that does seem to describe the Council of Kandrakar and their leader the all knowing Oracle." He spat bitterly with disgust at speaking of them, "Sadly many people fall for and believe their lies with those that know and see the truth usual powerless to stop them and their guardian puppets.

Marcy smiled it felt nice that someone do was hearing to her. yet it was still frightening that now her friends could be in danger because of her.

"that sounds like an evil emperor to me" said Marcy "I mean...shouldnt an oracle be only to ask advise and give vague prophesies about a chosen one or things like that?" she scratched her head "what is one doing running a council and basically promoting themselves as some sort of future ruler? even I can see someone like that must have some hidden agenda"

Phobos gave a bitter chuckle and grin.

"Oh dear Marcy hidden agenda doesn't even begin to describe the depth of Kandrakar manipulations." Than with a scoff he proceeded to "explain" further, "You see Kandrakar like to style themselves as the protectors of the infinite dimensions guided by their wise all seeing leader the Oracle." He said with bile on his tone and tongue, "They guide their enforcers the Guardians of Kandrakar a team of chosen girls who are bestowed the Heart of Kandrakar and through it the power of the mystical elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Quintessence."

He folded his arms across his chest, "The mantle of the Guardians has been passed down the generations since Kandrakar first came into existence." "On the surface acting as so called heroes on whatever world they are needed, but in reality enforcing Kandrakar and Oracle will making sure no realm steps outside of their control or gets dangerous ideas." with a growl he finished, "All by maintaining their so called precious balance to the price of progress." With a sigh he looked into Marcy eyes, "But despite eons of generations of guardians they all had one thing in common." He stated with grave severity, "They were all chose from and came from Earth."

Marcy eyes widen at that

"From Earth?! ok 1..- thats cool...mark one for our realm" she giggled "and 2.- why earth? I mean apart from all the hidden magic things this book said why earth? shouldnt the guardians be from Kandrakar itself and on that point shouldnt they be guarding Kandrakar and not other realms? I mean the name basically tell that they arent called the guardians of the multiverse" she blinked "do they?"

Phobos gave a hum as he replied.

"To your first question while I don't have definite answer, I believe that one main reason is power." He than explained further, "From what I know of Earth it is a realm where magic is as you said hidden and as such the populace kept ignorant of." he raised his hand gesturing toward Marcy, "So imagine if you would 5 seemingly girls told they have been chosen by powerful magic to be protectors and heroes to many worlds."

He gave a mournful sigh, "If the power itself wouldn't entice them than either glory or the prospect of helping others would as they walk right into Kandrakar trap, and are steadily manipulated and molded to believe that everything they do is necessary for the good of all, that they are the heroes of the story." with a bitter frown at his next statement he clenched his fists, "While all those that they fight or oppose Kandrakar are the villains, or at best misguided fools." with a sigh he collected himself , "As for your second question they call themselves the Guardians of Kandrakar because that their masters way of letting the people of the infinite dimensions that it is Kandrakar power that guides and protects their realms." Phobos said with disgust.

"Thats devious" said Marcy "smart...but devious that way they are see as the good guys and dont really have to get their hands dirty plus as you said, easy to manipulate teens...ugg I bet they use the you are chosen ones excuse to get them on board" she shuddered "ohh this is bad...and if they learn the box is here it would be double bad..and if they suspect that Anne and Sasha know something about it it will be ultra bad for them...oh no oh no I need to find them"

she turned around...and ran straight into a column.

"uggg...Im fine" she groaned from the floor

Phobos actual found himself let a chuckle slip as he walked toward Marcy form.

"Peace Mary...be at peace. While the situation is serious even more than I explained with the current rebellion, but I give you my word your friends will be found." he glanced over his shoulder at the guards still in the throne room "Speaking of... you all have orders and the descriptions so go and search all of Meridian for this Anne and Sasha as well as the box." He glared, "We can't let any of them fall into either the Guardians or the Rebellion´s hands."

The guards bowed and went to obey but one spoke up nervously as Phobos knelt by Marcy.

"Um sir what about the intruder?" Only to freeze at Phobos dark gaze.

"There is no intruder. Marcy is to be considered a respected guest and protected, "And outside of your orders not a word is to be breathed about Marcy or the box, I will not risk there be more traitors besides Raythor sharing dangerous secrets, am I clear."

"Yes sir!" The guard saluted and made hast to leave the room with the rest.

Phobos merely sighed and looked down at Marcy as he placed his hand on her own.

"Sorry about that dear Marcy, now are you quite alright?" He asked with faux concern tone determined to win the girls full trust and cooperation.

"yeah yeah is not the worse hit i had" she groaned standing up "at least I didnt fall from stairs right?" she chuckled "I just wish I could do anything to help find my friends" she said "maybe could i have give something with their essence to some magical beast to track them? wait..do you have something like that? like a werewolves or maybe some super big rhyno like creature with a great smell sense? or how about a location spell? I think I must have an old hairband that Sasha used to use maybe could use that to track her..." she began babbling "if I fell here is not farfetch they ended up closer unless the magic that brought us here separate us and maybe send us to the most representative places of this world? thats what happened in "The three swords" show were the heroes were sent to three different locations each holding a sword fragment that unite will create the ultimate sword of power...I mean I was sent into the castle of the ruler of this land so maybe the others ended up in similar places?"

Phobos grinned keeping his grip on Marcy hand.

"Yes rest assured I have the means to track down your friends, and that hairband you said will help wonderfully." He gave her a charming grin, "And I believe just the tracker perfect to find this Sasha."

Thinking of one servant by that very name who will likely be great help in locating the girls, though the point Marcy brought up raised his worry and ire at a certain possibility.

He gave a sigh as he rubbed Marcy hand in his palm to sooth her.

"I just hope neither of your friends ends up in the care of the Rebellion." He stared into her eyes, "Because than best we could hope for is keeping them prisoner, while the worst is your friends believing the Rebellions lies and joining them." he put a worry face"They might even convince the girls i've brainwashed you or worst if they learn that you're in my care."

"Oh yeah you mentioned a rebellion" said Marcy filling quite touched and ...embarrassed? god she hopped she wasnt blushing "rebellion of what exactly? you dont look like a bad guy"

Phobos gave a mournful sight while internally smirking relishing the chance to make this trust/sympathize with him while turning her further against his enemies.

"I'm glad you believe that Marcy, but the sad truth is too many of my subjects I am as you say not just a bad guy but a usurper." he cupped Marcy hand into his own as he explained, "You for generations since the very founding of the Meridian kingdom itself the Escanor line has been ruled by a Matriarch." "The magical power of Meridians Queens having ruled and protected the realm for generations, before my birth never had there been a male born into the Escanor royal line much less a male of powerful magic."

Phobos closed his eyes seemingly in pain which itself wasn't completely fake as bitter memories were stirred up, "The citizens of Meridian took my birth as a bad omen to say the least." He gave a scoff, "The name I was given Phobos likely didn't help matters." he opened his eyes staring into Marcy's, "Needless to say while I was the prince growing up wasn't exactly easy seen as nothing but a curse. My own parents seemed to keep me at a distance and arms length." some anger mixed in his tone "Eventually this all reached the boiling point when my baby sister who should be about your age i'm guessing was born."

He said with growl of resentment clutching her hand, "I remember being filled with so many conflicting emotions at her birth rage at the injustice of my treatment and never seeing the throne just because of my gender, fear of what would happen to me now that the true heir (He spat) had been born, and perhaps hope that this could change things for the better for me and I might become more accepted now." he shook his head,."Needless to say things did change because shortly after my sisters birth my parents were assassinated, and you can guess where accusation fell." Phobos gave a growl, "It was not long afterwards that my sister was spirited away by traitors and taken to Earth."

He took a breath "Following that Kandrakar intervened deeming me a potential threat to other realms cast a veil over the dimensions so that travel between dimensions was cut off and until now I believed could only be done through portals." he stared into Marcy eyes, "So there I was finding myself ruler of a realm with many against me considering me a monster and usurper, and so the righteous rebellion against the dark cursed prince rose to oppose me till the true ruler it's princess could be restored to the throne." he glared off into space, "Needless to say I did not cope with things well and i've had to do horrible things in the war to stay not only in power but to stay alive." "And while I don't know what i'll do if I manage to find my sister one day, or what she's been told." he added passion to his tone to make himself look more heroic"I've sworn that I won't let go of the throne and bring Meridian into new age damn the traditions of old, and damn the puppet masters of Kandrakar."

Phobos explained to Marcy mixing in truth with his explanation admittedly a gamble but one worth the risk if it makes it harder for the rebellion and guardians to turn her against him.

Marcy looked at the prince with awe and some sadness

"whoa...i mean i know some of that is bad bu still your story is one of a tragic hero" said the girl "you tried to rise up even when your own family fear you, then you have to defend yourself against those close-minded that are trying to keep the status quo even when you havent do anything to deserve that" the girl scoffed "and give the throne to a girl my age that havent live in this world for what? 13 years? do they think she will be a good queen just because she is a woman? i mean force inclusion much? and really? do they dont think that the whole veil thing is a bit sus?" Marcy scoffed

Phobos gave a sigh as he replied.

"If there's one thing i've learned in my life Marcy, is that people believe what they want to believe." He said ironical before giving his best smile at Marcy, "But thank you so much for your words." He stared deep into her eyes, "You have no idea how good it feels to hear such faith from you despite it not even being a hour since meeting." he brought up her hand as he dipped down, "Truly Lady Marcy you are as wise as you are cute to be able to see the truth so clearly where many others can't." He said as he kissed the palm of her hand before letting go and turning away to walk toward his throne, "While we've only just met I feel like that i've found someone I can truly trust in you Marcy." he said with a dark smirk hidden away from Marcy view before he said in tone mix of anger and mournful, "Something I sorely need since as of late I don't know who I can trust especially after one of my what I thought most loyal knights was recently exposed as a traitor, it's made me paranoid of who else might secretly be against me."

ok scratch her last worry...now she knew she was blushing.

come on Marcy focus...dont think about the dashing warlock.

"I..ehem..thats terrible prince Phobos" she thought for a moment "I wish i could do anything to help" she thought for a moment "wait I have an idea...you are magical so is there anything like a truth potion or a loyalty ritual you could do to those close to you?"

Phobos gave a thoughtful humm while displaying a small smirk at the blush covering the girls face. Truly adding a bit of charm to things to help gain her loyalty and trust is seeming more of a wise choice, fun too~ He thought as he walked up the steps and sat on his throne.

But his mind focused on Marcy suggestion as he delved deep into what he remember of his magical studies.

"Yes..yes!" He exclaimed as he sent a warm smile her way, "Those methods could indeed help." he cupped his chin, " Though one must be careful when making magical vows especially with the wording." He muttered to himself " Don't want any potential traitors finding a loophole to exploit or worse turning back at me. But creating a royalty ritual as you said the idea has merit." He gave a shake of his head looking back down at Marcy standing some feet away from the steps leading up to the throne, "As for the truth potion I think I recall reading of a such a formula before." he gave a sigh, "But the problem is the ingredients are rare or even deadly to find and gather." "And with the risk of more traitors among my forces I'm not sure who I could trust to not retrieve them, or help me root out any remaining traitors."

"ummm oh! I know" said Marcy "I can do it!" she said in excitement "this will be like doing a side quest on my RPG games. no one knows me so i can get the ingredients without alerting the rebel forces and we could use that traitor you talked about to test it. after all as ruler you have the right to questioning prisoners if you see fit so no one will rise an eyebrow if you call for him"

Phobos hummed thoughtfully rubbing his chin with subtle smirk.

"Your proposal has merit dear Marcy, and your points are sound." He threw her a concerned look, " Though are you sure you want to put yourself in such danger for my sake " he gave a warm smile, "I'd never forgive myself if such a bright flower came to harm after all" he frowned and gave a sigh, "As for questioning the traitor I'm afraid that's not possible."

Marcy blushed again.

"I..I..ehm yeah i will be fine" she said "all I need is a map of the realm, some books about what i will be looking for and some sweets to keep me awake all night and i will be set for this...oh and maybe a weapon...oh oh you have something like a bow or a crossbow" she smiled remembering her love for elves. "also why not? i mean you didnt...well" she passed a finger on her neck.

Phobos arched a brow.

"Hmm..well if you are sure and promise to be careful than the least I can do is make sure you are supplied and prepared appropriately." He gave her a mix of small smile and concern gaze, "Just be cautious while I can tell you possess wisdom beyond your years, Meridian is still dangerous place because of the rebellion." he gave a mournful sigh as he looked away, "And I must beg you not to judge me too harshly for whatever you may hear about while you're out on this quest." He closed his eyes, " While quite a bit of it will be Rebellion propaganda, I can't lie some thing you hear will possess some grain of truth." he shook his head turning his gaze back to Marcy, " As for the traitor it's somewhat a long story " " But the rebellion leader was recently captured along with new leader of the guardians, and treachery was suspected because of their escape."

He frown his eyes narrowing in anger as he clench his arm rests of his throne.

" Eventually during the ensuing investigation another confrontation with the new generation of guardians happen and according to Lord Cedric one of my inner circle and most dangerous servants, the key was found on Raythor the captain of my guard rather than the initial suspect." He sighed " As soon as Cedric discovered this he threw Raythor down into the bottomless chasma known as the abyss of shadows sealing the traitors fate."

"Oh dont worry i think Im good making judgment myself" said Marcy "after all everyone said Sasha is an evil bitch yet i know she is actually sweet...on the inside...like really deep inside her" she laughed nervously "and...and sorry if this offend you...couldnt that Raythor...ehh....have been framed? I mean if you were looking for a key and suddenly he had the key wouldnt that have been a bit...too convenient?"

Phobos gaze narrowed giving a growl of anger he couldn't restrain.

"Yesss." He hissed before he breathed deeply and composed himself, "Believe me Marcy the thought has indeed crossed my mind, but I can't be sure whether Raythor was framed or truly was the traitor rather than Vathek the initial suspect." he sighed closing his eyes, "I'm beginning to fear that i'll go mad from paranoia seeing spies and traitors everywhere believing that there's no one in this kingdom that I can truly trust."

"well...you can trust me?" she asked approaching the throne "I mean i know you dont know me yet you have just sent your men to find my friends before they can get in danger so I think i¡I can trust you" she shuffle a bit "and well i hope you also can trust me" she blushed "as for Raythor well...maybe you could...i dont know give him a try..well at least show him you will give him the benefit of doubt? i know you said he was thrown into a chasm but a "botomless" one, is actually impossible to exist as everything goes somewhere...so you could..i dont know write a letter tied it to a rope and throw it into the chasm? if he is still alive and climb up using the rope means he is willing to let you judge him so he might be innocent" she looked at him "maybe then you will have back a loyal captain that could help you find traitors in your troops"

Phobos smiled down at her.

Thank you Marcy you have no idea how much your words mean to me." He gave a little smirk, "Truly today I have been blessed today to be able to meet someone like you, your wisdom and beauty are only rivaled by your compassion" He said with heartfelt speech placing his hand over his heart as he stood up from the throne. Though he gave a sight, "although while I doubt Raythor is alive as no one thrown into the Abyss of Shadows has ever been seen again, I suppose for you investigating the possibility no matter how small he's alive is no major task." he gave a frown, "And even if he isn't alive the least I can do as his ruler is find out the truth about whether he truly was the traitor or was loyal to the end, and let the truth be known to all."

"yeah that certianly will also gain you points with your people and make them doubt about whatever the oracle said is actually truth" smiled the girl "well that if Raythor is alive and is prove innocent but details later" she declared "time for adventure" she gave a big step.

and fEll to the floor.

"Im still fine"

Phobos actual finding himself snorting and chuckling with a genuine smile on his face, if anything he mused the girl besides being a potential key to greater power might perhaps not only make for a loyal servant, but also perhaps make things interesting enough to keep around permanently.

Though he thought with a narrow of his eyes remembering some things Marcy let slip, since he's shared so much with the girl he shouldn't forget to learn more about her.

"It warms my heart to see a stranger to my kingdom so eager to lend her aid if not potentially join my service and help my Kingdom against the traitors and Kandrakar puppets." He leaned down from his throne, "Though while I applaud your eagerness perhaps it's best to rest and prepare before setting off on your noble quest." He gestured toward with his hand, "I can have a room prepared for you along with whatever supplies you'll need and new attire." He arched a brow, "As your current entire would just draw attention to yourself." je narrowed his eyes, "But first since I shared so much with you perhaps you could do the same and tell me something." His tone and gaze cut like steel, "If you truly believed the box could potential send you to another world, why did you risk being trapped in a strange world and never seeing Earth again by using it when you found it?"

Marcy looked nervous at that.

"I well....it was just" she didnt wanted to said but he was right he told her everything about himself and his kingdom so all she could do was give that trust back "My...my parents...they...they just told me we were going to move immediately from our home...and..and they were going to separate me from Anne and Sasha...and i..i simply couldnt accept that!!!" she cried "they were my friends since we were little...we do everything together...we basically were an inseparable trio..and they..they simply didnt care...they were just like..grab your things we leaving..." tears fall "but then i found about the box...so...I couldnt resist..maybe if we...we were away for a while...maybe we could live together a fantastical adventure..and maybe..maybe start a new life together?" she asked in broken tone.

While Phobos faced showed concern internally he was smiling like a viper, hardly believing how his stars were aligning so perfectly. This girl was not only a potential key to great power, not so eager to give him her trust but also help him, but was in slight vulnerable state with the only ties she has that could prove a threat toward any potential trust and loyalty toward him were her friends.

It was all too perfect to the point he wondered if some higher power had recognized his destiny for greatness and had delievered this chance to him. But he waved off this notion as he focused on the present in tying Marcy closer to himself and severing any bonds she has to Earth and her family, the tricky part would of course making sure if it ever came to it making sure she chose him over her friends.

He got up from the throne and walked down the steps.

"Marcy, Marcy, Marcy." He said with gently tone, "Please there is no need for such a lovely flower to cry." He reached the bottom and than reached around Marcy pulling into a hug squeezing her against his body as he rubbed her hair gently a dark smirk unseen, "And you shouldn't blame or punish yourself either for your parents selfish actions." he pulled her back and gently rubbed her face while wiping away her tears, "In fact such devotion to your friendships should be commended and I can only hope that this Anne and Sasha are worthy of it." he rubbed her cheek, "And take it from someone who knows you shouldn't let parents who cared more about themselves stand in the way of your happiness and destiny."

Marcy sniffed but nodded feeling touched at the words of the prince."sniff thanks...your highness" she hicuped "sorry for getting your robe wet"

Phobos merely chuckled as he gently rubbed her cheek.

"There's nothing to apologize for, if anything I should thank you for showing such strength." He smiled down at her, "And while we'll likely need to work out the details and how to make best use of your talents, I want you to know something. He stared deep into her eyes, "Should you wish it you'll have a place in my Kingdom and my service, you don't need to return to Earth." He said as he leaned down his head and gave Marcy forehead a gentle kiss.

This time Marcy was sure her face was fully red.

"I..I..thanks umm your majesty ummm" she struggle with her words

Phobos chuckled as gently cup Marcy chin.

"Well well it seems i've made the wise maiden speechless." He smiled down at her, "But there's no need to thank me after all offering you a new home that will appreciate a girl of your potential and talents seems like the least I can do." He brushed a string of hair of Marcy face while gently brushing the back of his hand against her face, "Just know that I mean my words and you have a place in Meridian for as long as you wish."

"I...umm ehem thanks i...i will think it" she grabbed the hem of her sweater with nervous tone as she looked away blushing the storm "for now..i...i hope my friends can be found..and i ehm i better..ehhh go instal myself? i mean still need to look up those ingredients and prepare everything to began exploring"

Phobos stepped back with gently smirk.

"Why yes of course my dear, but please allow me to act as your personal guide of the castle as I escort you to your room so you can make yourself comfortable. he gave a humble half bow looking up at her with a smirk, "Oh! And while I promised you wouldn't have to go back to Earth unless you wished perhaps you could help provide entail on Earth's current culture and such." he stood back up, "You see I have plans to send Cedric who I mentioned earlier on a infiltration mission to Earth to locate my sister." His eyes narrowed, "Specifically what I believe her most likely location a town named Heatherfield."he gazed at Marcy, "Though we still have some preparations to make for it, and I have assignment planned for Cedric before it starts in acquiring papers detailing the birth certificates of all those born in the city to help narrow down the search." "So any information or aid you can offer as you set out on your quest can only be added boon."

"oh sure no problem" she said "I can give..Cedric you said? man thats a mystic like name i love it....ehem yeah i can help there is so much differences between earth and this world that we need to cover" she blinked "although if i can ask...why are you looking for your sister? dont take me wrong is ok miss family but if she has been living on earth all this time shouldnt you..i dont know..leave her there?"

At Marcy question Phobos sighed.

"I won't lie part of me wishes that was an option, but I'm afraid finding her is necessary." he narrowed his gaze onto Marcy, "Not just because she's a powerful threat and symbol to my rule, who might have either been raised to hate me if the traitors that spirited her away to your realm haven't decided to keep her ignorant as another security measure." Phobos folded his arms behind his back, "Not only that but like myself my sister was born with strong magical power, power that I need to secure before it's used against me." he shook his head, "No leaving my sister on Earth without my oversight is too risky with not only the Rebellion seeking her but the Guardians." "If I did so she could be discovered used against me and installed by Kandrakar as a puppet ruler while I would either be imprisoned for life or more likely be executed." he gave a sigh, "Which is why though the option is extreme I need to not only find my sister but drain her of her power, there's just too much risk and danger otherwise especially with Kandrakar involved." He looked at Marcy, "You understand don't you?"

"No i totally get it really" said Marcy "sure sounds a bit extreme but do depend on what happen. i mean for what we know she could not known anything about this realm so if she suddenly awakes that kind of power she could be a danger to anyone on earth so in that case this would be for her own good." she then thought again "then again if she has this power but was raised to hate you then she could be use as a weapon or a puppet to hurt you so this would be self defense" she blinked "of coarse you could try to explain things but again could be a major risk ugg" she rubbed her head "too many variables enough for a whole what if saga of movies...better first learn whats her status before taking any action"

Phobos nodded his head in asset.

"Quite right my dear truly you have the mind in addition to charm worthy of any Queen~ He said with charming smirk toward Marcy before he carried on, "But yes so far the plan is to locate her and learn as much of her current status and knowledge before bringing her back to Meridian." he frowned, "And as you highlighted there are many potential variables which is why for the good of not just my rule and Meridian itself, but also a future without Kandrakar pulling it's strings I must stay the course no matter how extreme and cement my rule once and for all by taking my sisters power for myself." he sighed closing his eyes, "There is no other option otherwise I risk not only my life and the lives of many loyal soldiers to the Rebellion and Guardians, but also risk Meridian falling under the rule of my sister who'd either be unprepared for the role, or be a figure head for Kandrakar."

Phobos clenched his fists with a growl.

"Both scenarios would have the matriarch archaic traditions continued, and i'd dread what would happen if down the line if my sister or a descendant gave birth to a male heir."

Marcy decided to remain silence and just nod at that. he did have a point about worrying about that so maybe she should leave that desicion to him?

for now she just will accept things and help find that sister then she will see if plans can be change.

so of now lets just enjoy the fantasy adventure she had

"Ok i trust you your highness and i will help in all i can"

Phobos gave a bright smile toward her, "Thank you Marcy I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. And rest assured i'm not a ruler who doesn't reward loyalty." He stepped up to her and once again placed his hand on her cheek speaking in low tone, "I'll make sure you are properly...rewarded." He said with low husky tone.

Marcy blushed again this time feeling her body heating up.

"I...ummm ehem..thanks your...highness" she rubbed her arm nervously (but cutely)

Phobos merely smirked as he took a step back, "Think nothing of Marcy." He grasped his hands together "Now then, perhaps I should escort you to your room for the foreseeable future, or would you like a tour of the castle first." Phobos asked with arched brow.

her eyes shined in excitement

"oh oh can i have a tour? i really want to see more of this castle...i mean is A CASTLE OF A WARLOCK!!!" she cried in excitement "how cool is that!!!" plus i want to see more of this place" she basically was hopping in place "tell me you have any monster or semi-human as guards? minotaurs, cyclops, ohhh maybe giant snakes or dragons?!!!!"

Phobos let out a small burst of genuine laughter as despite his desire for the sleeping power in the girl and plots to use her and this whole new variable to his advantage. He think a part of him was truly starting to like the girls spirit, perhaps he will keep around long term after all said and done he mused.

"Hehehehe" He shook his head and gave her a smile as he reached his arm over and placed his hand on her right shoulder, "Oh I don't want to give too many spoilers, but I think you'll be most impressed with all my Kingdom has to offer, and all those that call it home." he smiled down at her, "Hmm perhaps I should start things off by showing you a creature known by the Gargoyle." He gave a frown, "I'm afraid the poor thing hasn't been in best spirits since it lost a arm while in pursuit of the escaped Rebel Leader and the Guardians."

Told her distractedly while the throne room door opened without the two realizing it at first letting the form of Phobos right hand Lord Cedric in.

"a Gargoyle!!! i think i saw something in my book about it" Marcy said as she began looking trow the pages

"uffff"

only for her to stumble face first against something...or someone

"upps sorry aboooooooooooo!!!!!" her jaw fell as she looked up only to see a giant snake like creature which looked down and grunted in anger at her

Cedric bent down with a powerful his face inches away from Marcy.

"And who is thissss my lord?" He gave a evil grin as he examined her clothes, "A friend of the Guardians perhaps caught spying." The grin widen as he hissed, "Or perhaps a little mouse who's wandered right into the ssnakes´s den"

Phobos gave a sigh as he held up his hand.

"That's enough Cedric." He ordered with steel as he brought Marcy closer to his side, "Marcy here is no intruder but a honored guest." He gave a smirk, "As well as a new friend who's eagerly volunteered her aid to the realm and locating my sister."

He explained while giving a subtle powerful glare toward Cedric the glare penetrating his serpent servant, as well as saying play along or else.

Marcy was still star struck looking at Cedric in frozen awe

Phobos turned his head down toward Marcy.

"Please forgive Lord Cedric...he's built somewhat of a reputation among the rebellion and populace that he works well with. And as you've realized in times like this we can't be too careful." He then said in tone that showed concern "I do hope he hasn't frighten you dear Marcy."

Marcy finally reacted

"OH MY GOSH!!!!!! IS A GIANT SNAKE-MAN!!!!!" and suddenly Cedric found his personal space been invaded "look at this!!!" touch belly "look at this scales" she was suddenly on his face "look at this fangs!!!" she slide down his tail "look at this tail!!!" she had literal stars on her eyes "he is amazing!!!!!" again she was on his face "tell me...do you shed? can i see? do you get slower on cold temperature? you spit poison? you came from an egg? is your blood cold? do you swallow your food whole or can you munch?"

Much like Phobos, Cedric was finding himself shocked and more so out of his element. As he was used to being treated with fear and respect, not pestered with questions. He gave a slight growl of annoyance though a sharp subtle glare from Phobos impeded him from doing anything to this Earth girl, apparently whoever she was it seemed she was important enough to warrant a different approach than usual and already had Phobos backing.

Though he still gave slight growl of annoyance.

"If you must know I am of the proud shapeshifter speciessss" He hissed at the end as his body was covered with light and what seemed like spark of lightning his form becoming smaller before the light receded revealing a blond haired man who gestured toward Marcy, "Sire just who in Meridian is this girl?" Letting his tone slip with some befuddlement in addition to slight annoyance .Phobos ceased his glare and gave a chuckle amused at how Marcy energy and questions have unsettled his servant.

"As I said Cedric...she's a new friend." He gave a sharp grin, "One who I see a lot of potential in, and might be great aid to us in saving Meridian and stopping the tyrant puppet masters of Kandrakar."

Causing Cedric to just blink in surprise at the prince statement. Only to feel slight shiver of annoyance and yes also dread at Phobos next words.

"She's also the one who will be teaching you all about Earth and it's culture to prepare for a special mission I have planned for you"

"yeap nice to meet you Cedric" she said with a mischievous smile "think you can call me Marcy-sensei for now on" she blinked with a playful tongue out "soon i will make an earthling out of you dont worry"

Cedric found himself actually floundering a bit while doing his best to restrain his annoyance/anger.

"My..my Prince are you sure about this?" Phobos once again merely chuckled as he began to guide Marcy away.

"Deadly Cedric" He glanced over his shoulder casting his dark gaze, "And I expect you to memorize everything she tells you, and treat her as you would myself during your...lessons" Phobos let out another chuckle as he grinned, "Now then Marcy, I promised you a tour didn't I?~" His grin grew a sinister edge, "And while i'm showing you the wonders of the castle why don't you tell me more about yourself."

"oh well i bet is not that interesting like your life your higness" said Marcy as they began walking out the throne room "bu ok i Lived in the earth city of Los angeles since i was very little...so like all my life. I really enjoy fantasy, books, games, movies...oh your probably dont know what movies or games are right? ok let me try to explain..."

as her voice became lower and lower Cedric couldnt help but wonder what in the name of the hearth was happening here.

The duo continue their tour with Phobos showing her every corner from the barracks (with the girl actually trying her luck with a crossbow), they met some more guards and creatures include Gargoyle (who was quite confused about the little girl acting all maternal over his missing arm), and of coarse, the main library where Marcy began collecting books like crazy.

At the same time the girl told Phobos all about her, her friends, her city, earth in general all info she could give or he could ask she gave it with a smile

Phobos found himself returning the smile while thinking that Marcy was perhaps just the unexpected he needed to tip things in his favor. As even without factoring in the power he initial felt inside her when she first arrived, though it seemed more dormant now. She was proving a valuable source of information on Earth which could only aid his search for his sister, as well showing a great deal of intelligence, and most importantly an eagerness to aid him.

He chuckled as he bent down helping Marcy from where she had tripped while thinking that this girl would indeed prove of great use of the future.
