Aki looked over the city from her room at the Arcadia movement base. She could barely hold back her excitement as she watched the snow fall outside her window. It was one of the few things that brought a smile to her face these days. It reminded her of a simpler time. Before her powers manifested. The times when she was able to be a child and run out to play with friends. She let out a content sigh as she watched the snow danced in front of her falling down to the ground. She would happily join the others soon enough and enjoy the snow.
Ruka and Rua sat in front of the tree as their parents waved goodbye. It wasn’t a surprise that they were being left alone again but still it hurt especially with it being close to the holidays. No amount of presents could soften the blow but still they were glad to have each other especially after what happened to Ruka not too long ago. Despite this they were happy to try and play in the limited snow as after all there are other fun games outside of Duel Monsters. They were just grateful to have each other.
Jack let out a string of curses as he ducked into the long abandoned train station where Crow and Yusei were camping out. The snow came out of nowhere as the previous weeks it was warmish for the time of year, not warm enough for Jack personally but warm enough to not freeze his toes off. Still he’d enjoy what the snow allowed for, it allowed for them to be left alone. The factories were shut in fear to do with the machines so he was told and the security dogs would rather do anything else than drive in what appeared to be shin deep snow. So he got to relax with his boys at least for now. Crow would fly the minute the snow eased enough for him to have good visibility to check on things with his kids. Jack still could appreciate it however it meant they could stick together like the old times. Yusei was tending to the fire as Crow somehow managed to blankets to stave off the chill a bit. Jack let out a chuckle before joining the effort, dropping off a bag of food to cook while throwing a few unimportant pieces of paper into the flames to help Yusei out. Looking up into the crack above the long dead rails he let out a hum. Maybe one day he could actually enjoy the snow for its angelic look but for now he would enjoy it forcing him and his crew to crash together for once, like old times sake.
Rex looked onto his city as the snow flurried past him. Long gone are the days of frostbite and fighting for the last shreds of fabrics in hopes of keeping out winter's nip. He doesn’t miss those days at all. That was a lie and he knew it. He missed the camaraderie that came with the weather. Part of him also missed the days of his youth before the city split in two before all of this when he lacked the knowledge he had now. Still out of them all this one he would publicly say was his favorite as he could look beneath him and keep an eye out for his fellow signers as even in the snow the mark would glow strong letting him hone in on them to save his city.
