"Yayy!! Where should we go?" The energetic blonde was currently grabbing onto Kanade's hands, hopping up and down excitedly.
How did Kanade get into this situation? The answer was quite simple, really. Saki had confessed to Kanade - rather enthusiastically, true to her regular self - and Kanade, returning the girl's feelings, had accepted. Kanade had never expected that Saki would return her feelings, let alone confess to her - but she was happy nonetheless. The two had started dating shortly after that, and today, Kanade had suggested to Saki that they should go out on their first date.
"Hmm..I'm not sure, I..don't go out often." Kanade responded, and Saki simply giggled.
"That's okay!! Hmm..there's a McDonald's pretty close by here that we could go to?"
McDonald's..that didn't sound like a very fancy date idea, in Kanade's humble opinion. But, well, she wouldn't really mind going anywhere with Saki, as long as she enjoyed herself. And, I mean, Ena and Mizuki went there on dates sometimes - and sometimes dragged along their other partner, Mafuyu - and the three of them seemed to enjoy themselves there. So Kanade figured it wouldn't be that bad.
"Sure! That works!" Kanade said, and Saki smiled.
"Yayy!! Should we walk there? It's not too far from here!"
"Sure, I should probably..get out a bit more, anyways." Kanade responded, and Saki giggled, letting go of one of her hands but still holding onto the other as they left Kanade's house - where the two had been staying - and began walking to the McDonald's. As soon as they left the house, Kanade was hit with the direct beams of sunlight, causing her to shrivel a bit.
"Kanade? Is everything alright?" Saki said, noticing the change in her girlfriend, and becoming slightly concerned.
"Yea, I'm fine, it's just..I don't get out a lot, so it's a bit..overwhelming, sometimes." She said, chuckling slightly.
"Oh, that makes sense..is there anything I could do to help? I could try getting an umbrella, or-"
"No, no, it's fine, Saki..thank you for your concern, though."
"Oh..no problem, Kanade-chan!! I just want to make sure your comfortable and happy!" She responded, back to her regular chipper self, as they began to walk down the street. As they walked, Saki rambled to Kanade about everything in her life - her studies, her friends, and really anything that came to mind - as Kanade listened, a small smile on her face. Although she didn't have much to respond with, she was taking in every detail, happy to listen to her girlfriend ramble so happily to her. Finally, they made it to their destination.
"We're here!!" Saki excitedly exclaimed, as she rushed over to the door. "After you!!" She said, holding it open for Kanade and gesturing for her to enter, as Kanade walked through the door, Saki walking in after her.
Kanade looked around. She hadn't ever actually been in a McDonald's in her life, and she- "Hey, is that.." Kanade said to herself, pointing at the employee at the counter.
"Hm?"
"Is that..Shinonome Akito?"
"Shinonome Akito? I don’t think I’ve met him before.."
"Yea, it is..what can I help you with?" Akito said after hearing the two girls murmuring about him.
"Oh, hi Shinonome-san! I don't think we've ever formally met..I'm Yoisaki Kanade! I'm a friend of Ena's."
"Yea, she talks about you guys sometimes..and who's that you're with?"
"I'm Tenma Saki!!" Saki proudly exclaimed.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Tenma-san." He said, "Anyways, what would you guys like to order?"
"I'll get a Happy Meal!!" Saki said. Meanwhile, Kanade was still trying to decide what to get. A lot of their options seemed interesting, and she had really never eaten this kind of food, before. Finally, she decided on what to get.
"Can I get a small fry?"
"That's it!?" Saki asked, slightly surprised at Kanade's order.
"I mean, yea..I don't really want to eat much, right now.." Kanade responded.
"Oh..that makes sense! If you're still hungry though, we can share my food?"
"That..sounds good. Thank you, Saki-chan."
"No problem!!" Saki said cheerfully. So, Akito gave the two their order number, and they sat down at one of the many tables in the restaurant. As they sat down, Saki began going on about her day again to Kanade, as she happily listened. It felt like time was speeding by as Saki talked to Kanade, and Kanade got lost in hearing her voice, until Akito's voice brought her back to reality.
"Order number 42?"
"That's us, I think. I'll be right back." Kanade said, as she got up to go get their food.
"Have a nice day." Akito said as he handed her their food.
"You too!" Kanade said with a small smile, as she walked back to the table with Saki.
"Thank you so much, Kanade-chan!!" Saki said, as she began to eat her food. She stopped talking as she ate, and Kanade just sat there, enjoying the presence of the other girl in front of her. I'm so lucky to have her as my girlfriend.. Kanade thought to herself, as she began to drift off slightly.
"H-Hey, Kanade, are you sleeping? We should probably go now."
"O-Oh, hi Saki-chan. Yea, I'll be there in a second!"
