Chapter 1: The Evil Deity

Chapter Text

My writing has improved so much since making Dragon Ball Aftermath chapter one. The difference is like night and day. This story will focus on retelling the story of Dragon Ball Aftermath but is given a rewrite to vastly improve the plot, pacing, and character development. Let's begin.

In an alternate timeline to the events of Broly, Moro, and Granola, things went differently after the Tournament of Power. In this story, months after the tournament, two powerful beings fought in a small world.

Dragon Ball: Infinite Horizons

Chapter One

Shock waves shot across the land as a muscular man with black, spiky hair ran, avoiding multiple purple blasts headed toward him. He leapt up, smirking. This figure was known as Son Goku, one of the most powerful mortals in the multiverse.

The God of Destruction squinted at him before launching a Hakai blast at Goku. Goku leaped out of the way just in the nick of time, stumbling back.

"Enough games, Goku," Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe Seven, demanded. "I'm not in the mood for playing around."

"You got it, Lord Beerus!" Goku clenched his fists as the ground broke under him. He yelled, his hair flashing blue. With one last roar, a large blue aura shot around him, illuminating the landscape with a bright light.

Goku opened his eyes, now in Super Saiyan Blue. He got into a stance as Beerus beckoned him forward. In a flash, he shot toward Beerus, swinging a heavy punch. Beerus clashed with him for a bit before getting bored and whacking him with his tail.

Goku was sent spiraling back, spinning around in the air. He yelled, launching a Kamehameha at Beerus, who tapped his finger on it right before it hit him and destroyed it.

Seeing this, Goku immediately decided not to hold back any longer. He yelled, red lightning shooting around him. His aura burst even bigger, almost covering the entire area.

"KAIOKEN TIMES TEN!" He yelled as he launched forward much faster than before, landing a punch on Beerus's face. He got sent back a bit. "Hmph... That's what I was waiting for!"

The two shot forward and clashed, creating a massive explosion. Whis watched from below, eating some curry. "It looks like Goku's improved. For a mortal to achieve this level of strength in such a short time is remarkable." He took another bite.

Goku ramped up his Kaioken to times twenty, rapidly barraging Beerus, then elbowing him in the gut, sending him flying toward the ground. Right before Beerus hit the ground, he stopped himself, a purple aura shooting up around him.

"He managed to complete Ultra Instinct in under the time span of forty-eight minutes," Whis said, still talking to himself. "I wonder if he'll be ready for that anytime soon..."

Beerus yelled, mauling Goku to the ground, using more of his power now. Goku cried out, crashing into the ground. He grunted as he got on his knees, blood dripping on the ground in front of him. "Heh... as expected of the God of Destruction. I forgot how strong he was."

The God of Destruction hovered down toward him, giving him a sinister smile. "Why don't you use Ultra Instinct? It would prove to be a better challenge than you are in your current form. Anything you throw at me, I will erase with no second thought."

Goku managed to get up, panting. "Yeah, I know. I wish I could enter that form, but I forgot how to."

Beerus's smile faded. "What...? You're telling me you went through the entire Tournament of Power, using Ultra Instinct three times and completing it, and you're telling me you can't use it...? BULLSHIT!"

Goku raised his hands, laughing nervously. "Calm down, Lord Beerus! I just... completely forgot how to. It's not like my other forms."

"All your forms thus far have relied purely on your raw power," Whis said, chiming in. "To be honest, you've been doing the opposite of what I've wanted you to do."

Goku paused, turning toward Whis. "The opposite?"

Whis nodded. "Your Kaioken ability has indeed amplified your power to greater heights, but it causes a great toll on your body. Just remember how you felt when you lost against Jiren and the fusion of Caulifla and Kale."

Goku recalled the events of the Tournament of Power. Kefla would have just knocked him out of his form, leaving him with little to no remaining power. He remembered his energy being completely calm before he entered the state again.

He found himself powering down, and his energy became steady. Whis raised his eyebrows, his lips slowly curling into a smile. "He's figuring it out..."

Suddenly, Goku's stomach rumbled, and it distracted him. He opened his eyes, scratching the back of his head. "Man, this battle has made me hungry!"

Beerus's eyes twitched, his face red with rage. Whis sighed, placing a hand on the side of his face. "Goodness..."

The God of Destruction grabbed his ears, yelling. "GOKU!"

Goku flinched, sweat going down the side of his face. "Sorry, Beerus! I can't focus on an empty stomach."

Beerus sighed, plopping himself down on the ground. "Fine... If you don't enter Ultra Instinct after eating, I will destroy you."

Whis turned toward his master. "What would you like to eat, my lord?"

Beerus thought about it for a second. "I want cheese pizza."

Goku shrugged, sitting down on a stump. "Sure."

Whis nodded and raised his staff, materializing pizza in front of the two. Without a second thought, they began digging into the pizza, wolfing down slices in seconds. Whis stood back, seeing scraps flying everywhere.

"You two really don't have any manners, do you?" Whis muttered to himself. Suddenly, he got a call from his staff and looked at it. He saw Bulma waving at him.

"Hey, Whis!" she said, greeting him. "I finally found a food you haven't tried yet! You should come down to Earth before it gets cold."

Whis smiled widely. "Oh! What a delight! What is this new food you speak of?"

Bulma winked. "It's a surprise! It's absolutely delicious, though. It took me hours to make the perfect batch."

"I cannot wait!" the angel said. "We will see you there."

He lowered his staff, ending the transmission. He turned toward the two, who were still eating pizzas. "You two, I think you should save some room. Bulma-san just told us she has a new food we haven't tried yet."

Beerus paused right before taking another bite. "Well, that's a surprise. I figured we had already tried everything on the planet." He tossed the slice to Goku, who quickly munched on it.

The two of them got up as Whis tapped his staff on the ground, a light surrounding them. "Well, let's get going, Goku-san, Beerus-sama." A light engulfed them and sent them shooting toward the Earth.

While they were heading away from Beerus's planet, Goku decided to ask Whis a question he had on his mind for a while. "Hey, Whis."

"Hm?" the angel replied.

"Why does it take you so long to get to Earth and back? Even I can go faster than this."

Whis chuckled. "Because I simply like the slow pace. I rarely need to rush."

Beerus, who was drinking soda, would spit it out. "What?!"

"Hm?" Whis glanced at him. "What's the matter, my lord?"

"What do you mean, 'what's the matter'?!" the cat yelled. "You realize how impatient I get?!"

"No need to make a fuss, my lord," Whis replied, still chuckling. "I'll speed it up, but I'll warn you, Goku... It's dangerous for the mortal body."

Goku clenched his fists. "Let's give it a shot!"

Whis smiled as they shot off at intense speeds, galaxies shooting by. Goku barely managed to hold on, his face feeling like it was peeling off. He was yelling, but his voice was unheard.

A minute later, they stopped on Earth, and Goku stumbled forward, his eyes looking like spirals, while Beerus and Whis were unaffected by the velocity.

"Not bad, Goku," Whis said. "Velocity like that would've vaporized you if you weren't this strong."

"Let's go get the food," Beerus said impatiently. "That pizza wasn't enough to satisfy me."

They walked across the streets, people looking at Beerus and Whis with dumbfounded expressions on their faces. After a while of staring, Beerus got irritated and turned toward them, glaring at them with intimidation. "Scram."

Without hesitation, all the people, including the police, hurried away, continuing with their business. They arrived at Bulma's place and Goku rang the doorbell.

Bulma answered a moment later, letting them in. "I just saw people running away from where you came from. You better not have scared them again, Beerus."

Beerus yawned, waving her off. "Yeah, yeah. Where're my dumplings, woman?"

A tick mark appeared on Bulma's forehead, but she managed to keep her composure. "They're in the kitchen... Still warm. Still piping warm."

Beerus nodded, and the three entered the kitchen, opening a box. Immediately, an intoxicating smell hit them as the juicy dumplings were revealed. They gazed at them, amazed.

Bulma walked in, her anger replaced by a smirk when she saw their reactions. "Enjoy."

Immediately, Beerus dug in before Goku and Whis could thank her for the food. They quickly started digging in as well, and it was absolutely delicious to the three of them.

"This is delightful!" Whis exclaimed, barely able to contain himself. "Sublime! Bulma, you have done it once again."

Bulma chuckled. "Yeah... Thanks, Whis."

After their meal, Goku and Beerus headed outside, hovering on top of a building. They were standing across from each other. Goku smiled, getting into a stance. "Let's start where we left off, Lord Beerus. I want to push you to your full power."

While they were talking, an ominous figure slowly descended into the atmosphere, concealing his power. Whis glanced up, sensing something was off. "Hmm... That's strange."

Bulma, who was sitting down next to him, gazed at him. "What's wrong, Whis? You rarely act like that."

"It's probably nothing," Whis replied, but he was on guard now.

Beerus squinted. "You really think you are even close to my level, Saiyan? At most, you could push me to ten percent, and that's being generous."

"We'll see about that." Goku prepared to leap forward, but an angry voice from below stopped them. "Oh, no, you don't! You are NOT about to fight on top of Capsule Corp!" Bulma yelled.

Goku laughed nervously as Beerus looked down at her with distaste. "Fine. Whatever."

Whis squinted at the sky. "Bulma-san, please get as far as you can."

Bulma scrunched her eyebrows. "Whis...?"

Whis didn't reply, but she decided to listen to him. She rushed inside to warn her parents and prepare to evacuate.

Right as Goku and Beerus were about to leave, suddenly there was a strange feeling consuming the entire planet. Goku felt a lot of weight, falling on his knees. "Gck... What is this...?"

Beerus felt the effects as well, but was still standing. "Whis, what the hell is this?"

Whis moved at a speed Goku and Beerus would've thought impossible, as a massive lightning strike then slammed down and hit the city, completely obliterating it. The smoke faded, and Whis created a barrier around Capsule Corporation, protecting Goku, Beerus, Bulma, and her parents.

All the Z-Fighters on the planet sensed this powerful presence. A muscular figure started walking toward them, his aura blasting all the smoke away. He had short gray hair, tan skin, and a black robe.

His irises were glowing red as he stopped. He examined all of them. "Well, well... If it isn't Whis and... Zydis...?"

Beerus glared at him. "It's 'Beerus'. Kindly explain why you ruined my mood before I destroy you."

The figure snorted and then turned toward Whis. "Ah, you must be Whis, my father's mentor."

Whis slowly stepped forward, dispersing the barrier. "Your name is Abysus, son of Zateus. Am I wrong?"

Abysus smirked, a malicious gleam in his eyes. "I see you're well informed. As expected from an angel." They stopped in front of each other, locking gazes.

Goku and Beerus were stunned by this. They had never seen Whis this serious before.

"Beerus, do you know who that is?" Goku asked.

"No clue," Beerus replied. "If Whis is acting like this, then he must be a huge threat."

"You are an enemy of the gods, Abysus," Whis said. "Why do you choose to come to this planet specifically?"

"I simply wanted to meet my father's mentor," Abysus replied. "But that's enough talk. Prepare to die, Whis."

Out of nowhere, Beerus vanished in front of Whis, his hand pointed at Abysus. "You're gonna have to go through me to fight Whis. Hakai."

A pulse shot from his hand, and Abysus yelled. "Nooooo!~... Just kidding."

Beerus's eyes widened. "What?!"

Abysus grabbed his hand, squeezing it. "You're nothing. Leave the business to the real gods." He threw the destroyer into a distant mountain, collapsing it in the process.

Seeing this, Goku snapped to his senses and yelled, entering Super Saiyan Blue. He shot forward and swerved around Whis, swinging a punch at Abysus, who took it. The landscape cracked, with rocks flying everywhere.

The evil god didn't budge, Goku's fist on his face. "A Saiyan...? What's a Saiyan doing out here...?"

Goku then entered Kaioken at times twenty, barraging him rapidly. Abysus was stopping his punches with his hand. "A blue and red aura... How unlike what he was many years ago."

He glared at Goku, sending the Saiyan flying and crashing through the landscape, completely leveling it. Goku coughed up blood, falling to the ground. He grunted and launched a Kamehameha at Abysus, but the evil being just flicked it back at him.

Goku barely managed to dodge it, his eyes widening. "This guy... He's not even trying... Could he be stronger than Beerus?"

He roared once again, a red aura enveloping the area. Goku shot forward at full power, straining his body. He swung one more punch, but Whis took a step toward him and stopped his punch with his staff.

Goku paused and turned toward him, surprised. Whis stared at him with a serious expression. "Goku, that's enough. Stand back. This being is on a level far beyond your own."

Just then, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, Yamcha, Tien, and Vegeta arrived on the scene, having sensed Abysus.

"Kakarot, who is this?" Vegeta asked.

"Stand back, everyone," Goku said to them. "I couldn't phase him. He's even stronger than... than Beerus."

Vegeta's eyes widened. "What?! That's impossible!"

Beerus landed next to them, his attire torn up. He was furious, sweat going down his face. "Stand back, you fools. I'm going to fight this bastard."

With reluctance, the Z-Fighters backed up as Beerus clenched his fists. He yelled as a massive purple aura shot up around him, illuminating the solar system. His muscles bulked up a bit as his aura turned darker, now being a darker purple. A ray of light emanated from him.

He opened his eyes, and symbols just like Toppo's destruction form appeared on his chest. His eyes glowed a faint red. All the Z-Fighters were shocked, and Whis glanced at him.

"This is the form you've been hiding?!" Goku asked, his eyes as wide as quarters. "Man, I've been hoping to see his full power, but this is crazy!"

The ground under Beerus vanished, forcing the Z-Fighters to move further away. Beerus screamed, his aura growing in size. The sky flashed as small objects gravitated toward him.

He slammed his foot on the ground, and part of the earth cracked as he launched forward at an insane speed, swinging a punch at Abysus's face. Abysus grunted, the punch having caused him to flinch.

Beerus then slammed him into the ground, causing a massive crater. Lightning struck the ground everywhere, destroying parts of Earth. All the Z-Fighters took cover from the wind.

"His power... It's like it's manipulating the weather itself!" Vegeta yelled over the sound of the explosion. "Is this the true strength of a god?!"

Abysus got up, no damage having been done by Beerus's attack. Beerus then kicked him away, launching a barrage of Hakai orbs at Abysus. They surrounded Abysus and combined, forming a sphere around him.

Abysus waved his hand, shattering it. Beerus's eyes widened. "He broke out of it with pure strength?!"

The God of Destruction blinked, and Abysus was already in front of him. Beerus was unable to perceive it. "What-"

"I'll show you strength," Abysus said. He yelled and slammed a punch into Beerus's gut, making the god vomit out blood. The wind force traveled all the way to the moon and made an enormous crater on it.

Beerus fell to the ground, panting heavily. Not once in his life had he been pushed this far. Goku was a fun battle for him, but even the Saiyan couldn't push him this far.

Abysus stepped on his back, forcing him to the ground. "Hm. At least you're stronger than the average God of Destruction, but you cannot hold a torch to my power."

Beerus raged and his aura burst to greater heights than before, forcing Abysus off him. Beerus roared before raising his hand. It glowed, causing the entire planet to shake to where it was tilting.

Whis's eyes widened. "My lord, you cannot use the Hakai in that state! It is forbidden!"

"Shut up!" Beerus yelled, his hand glowing brightly. "Whis, stand back! That is an order!"

Abysus raised an eyebrow. "You're going to risk losing your position as a God of Destruction by using that, maybe even leading to erasure."

Beerus was too angry to listen to him. "I am the authority of Universe Seven, God of Destruction Beerus. You will be erased from the rest of the cosmos. Judgment will now be passed onto you, Abysus."

He flickered as Earth's atmosphere started to fade away. "100%... Absolute Hakai... Disappear."

To Be Continued in Chapter Two

Here we go again! It's been a while since I wrote a story on this website. Just know, the frequency of chapters coming out will be very inconsistent and could take days or even months to come out.

I greatly am already improving Dragon Ball Aftermath's plot. I don't know how far I'll remake the story, but the odds of me redoing ALL of it are kind of slim. If it did happen, it'd take a long time to do.

Anyway, I will see you later!
