Lawrence was choosing people to go out on a supply run, he would have made everyone go but during the last supply run, Zion had gone out of his way to get an unnecessary item that ended in them being jumped by zombies, luckily none of them had been bitten but now Zion was being punished by having to stay at the school. Lawrence had now planned that everyone except Zion would go, and as everyone was getting their weapons MC approached Lawrence "Do you really think leaving Zion by himself is a good idea? What if he comes after us, or does something he shouldn't" they said.
Lawrence was then silent for a few seconds "You're right... Someone should stay with him" he says and MC smiles "I can do it" they say and Lawrence wraps his arms around them "But I want you to stay with me" he says with a smile and a slight laugh "I'll be fine, you don't have to worry. It's just Zion and we can spend time together after" they say with a smile and he hesitantly pulls back from the hug "alright" he says while looking from MC to Zion who was pouting.
The group left, leaving MC and Zion alone in the classroom "It's not like you to pout" MC said and Zion glared at them "I'm not pouting" he said and MC just laughed "It sure seems like it" they say and join him sitting on one of the tables "I'm obviously the best here, so why are they forcing me to stay here. I didn't even do anything" Zion complained "That's the thing, you did do something. You put all of us in danger" MC explains "Yeah, yeah! Sure, I did that but we're all fine aren't we" Zion says and MC sighs "We're fine now, yes, but if you do something like that again we might not be" they say and Zion grumbles in response before leaving the classroom.
MC just shook their head before before walking over to the window, they say there for a few minutes, allowing Zion a little time to himself so he can cool down, and then once that few minutes was up they went to find him, surprised that he didn't go far and only went to his classroom "Came you pout in here did you" MC said with a smile "I told you that I'm not fucking pouting" he said and MC walked in and sat on one of the desks next to him "Why are you in here bothering me" he asked.
"To make sure you don't do anything stupid. That's why Lawrence allowed me to stay back to begin with" they explained and Zion scoffed "Wow, you two really don't trust me do you" Zion said and MC sighed "No, it's not that I don't trust you. I didn't really want to go to begin with, I've been kinda needing a break" MC explained.
"What, Lawrence being too overbearing for you? Is he too clingy or something? What's you relationship with him anyway" Zion asked, sounding obviously upset "What are you jealous? Why are you so angry lately" MC asked as Zion began pacing the room "why would I be jealous of him? I'm not angry, I just don't think I should have to stay here just because of one stupid thing I did" Zion said and MC hopped off of the desks "If that's all you're upset about then why don't we explore the school a bit more, there are some classrooms we still haven't visited" MC said.
"Won't Lawrence get upset" Zion asked and MC just smiled "don't worry, I can get us out of it" they said and Zion sighed before grabbing his weapon and exiting the room with MC "So we haven't explored some of the top floors, we could go do that if you'd like" they said as the two of them walked to the stairs "whatever" he said as the two then ascended the stairs.
As the two walked down the dark decrepit hallway checking all the doors to see which ones were unlocked they stood in uncomfortable silence "I'm not with Lawrence. Me and him aren't dating and never will" MC explained while jiggling the handle of one of the doors "Is he still the reason you didn't want to go, or is it that you'd rather spend time with me" Zion said, no longer pouting like he was before "It's kinda because of him, kinda because I'm worn out. Lawrence insists on me going but is so protective to the point I have to stay by him, it's kinda exhausting" MC explains.
Before Zion responds the two both become aware of a sound coming from a nearby room, the two walked as quietly as they could up to the door "Stay here" Zion ordered as he opened the door to reveal a bathroom, and as he walked in MC followed much to his dismay but he didn't seem to necessarily mind, the two then discovered that the sound was coming from a shut stall, the one farthest from the door.
MC watched as Zion walked up to it and quickly opened it only to reveal nothing "it's just a broken toilet" Zion said as he let out a sigh of relief before being sprayed by water from a broken pipe above him, as he stood there drenched MC just laughed at him "Oh yeah ha ha. The two returned to Zions room and as he removed his soaking wet blazer and shirt MC looked around for a towel, soon finding one hidden in one of the desks "You gonna give me the towel or what" Zion said, now sitting on a chair but MC just ignored him and walked over to him "If you stay still I'll dry you off" MC said and Zion grumbled a bit but stayed still as they dried off his hair, gently placing a hand on his shoulder as they moved onto drying off his face.
As they were doing so they got distracted looking at his face and he caught on "What are you looking at" he asks and then slowly trail their hand down his chest "You. You're h-" they started to say before the sound of Eugene's whining rang through the halls from the entrance "Sounds like their back" MC said while handing Zion the towel and leaving the room.
"Why is Eugene whining this time?" MC asked as they entered the main classroom and Harry just sighed "he sprained his ankle on the way back" harry explained and MC looked over Eugene while he was sat in a chair laying his head on the desk in front of him just whining "are you sure he didn't break it?" MC asked and Harry nodded "yeah, he's just dramatic" harry says, Zion then enters the room his shirt back on, slightly more dry than it was prior and hair still damp.
"What were you two doing while we were gone" Lawrence asks with a smile "Well, Zion pouted in his room for a bit and then we went and explored the school some more and a pipe broke and sprayed Zion" MC explained and that's when they noticed someone was missing "Where's Ethan?" They asked while looking around "oh he went to the storage room to get some bandages" Harry said.
"I'll go get the bandages and Zion can check for bites" MC said while leaving the room and Zion looked at them offended, MC walked into the storage room to find Ethan looking through the shelves and boxes "Zion is checking for bites, I'll look for the bandages" MC said and Ethan nodded before leaving the room, after a few minutes they found some bandages and then they went back to the main classroom and found the door still closed so they gently knocked on the door "Still checking" Zion called from the other side.
MC stayed waiting there for a few minutes until the door opened with Lawrence on the other side with a smile "I don't see why you always insist on locking me out everytime you guys have to check, it's not like I'll look or anything" MC said with a slight laugh and all the others blushed slightly at the implications they were making "I found the bandages so which ankle is it" MC asked and Eugene frowned and just pointed to his right ankle.
Once Eugene's ankle was bandaged MC stood up and looked around to see both Zion and Lawrence staring intently "What's wrong, are you two jealous" they said with a slight laugh as they stood up "I'm not jealous, it's just his fault he got hurt so he should have to deal with it" Zion said with a scoff "You shouldn't have to do that, I'm the leader so I should be the one caring for others when they get hurt" Lawrence said with a smile.
That night, MC was having a hard time getting to sleep, so they decided to get up and take a visit to the main classroom, having a sneaking suspicion that they'd find someone there, and once they entered the classroom they we're proven right as they saw Zion sitting in a chair and looking out the window "how did I know I'd find you here" they said with a slight laugh as they walked over to him "What are you doing here" Zion asked, not bothering to look up at them "I should be asking you that, but I guess I'll answer. I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd take a little walk" they explained.
"I wasn't tired, so I thought I'd be look out" Zion explains and MC stands behind him and looks out the window "have you seen anything" they ask and he shakes his head "No, only a few have gotten close to the gate but they left soon after" Zion said and after there was a comfortable silence before he spoke up again "You were saying something earlier before the others came back. What was it?" Zion asked as he looked behind him at MC who was just smiling "I was gonna say you look really good without a shirt on" MC says while placing a hand on his shoulder and slipping it under his shirt slightly.
