Work Text:
You were looking for Elias, he had disappeared earlier in the morning. He left you a note saying that he would be back that afternoon. You wandered deeper into the woods, it was getting late you could see the sun setting through the trees “where are you Elias” you groaned.
It was lovely in the woods, the leaves were still green even though it was autumn. Faintly, you heard water running farther in the woods “Elias must be at the pond”. The sound lead you to a clearing, there was a pond full of clear almost glass-like water. A small waterfall sat to the right of the pond, and to the left of the pond, flowers grew around the bank. They were glowing under the moonlight.
You saw Elias laying in the water surrounded by flowers, resting his head on the grass. He almost looked like he was sleeping. You walked over to him, and knelt in front of him “Elias?” you whispered to him. He looked up “Love, why are you here?”.
“You disappeared and left a note saying you would be back in the afternoon, of course, I would try to find you” you sat down, in the soft grass “why are you here, Elias?”. He sighed “I used too much of my magic too quickly yesterday” You were glad he was ok physically but you were still worried. Why did he not tell you before he left "stubborn mage" you muttered under your breath.
You looked at Elias noticing how the moon reflected off of Elias's skull. The sight was enchanting.
“Elias” he hummed “It's getting late, I think we should head back” he nodded “I agree”. You got up first and dusted off, Elias rose from the water strangely he wasn't soaking wet. You looked up at him “Why does he have to be so damn tall” you thought. you walked together the only light was the moon that shimmered between the leaves.
“Hey, Eli-” you were so distracted by the moon that you tripped on a root. You brace yourself for the impact but it never came, Elias had caught you. “You should be more careful, love” and picked you up bridle style, you felt your face flush.
He chuckled "so cute," Elias thought. He leaned down to get a closer look, his jaws opening in concentration. You could feel his breath on your face. You stayed like that for what felt like hours (but was just a few minutes).
You reached up and embraced his snout, it was surprisingly warm like a gentile fire. Elias froze, he was not expecting you to do something like that. "dove, what are you doing?" you blushed. Embarrassed, you hid your face in his chest, Elias chuckled at your reaction. You could feel his chest vibrate.
By the time you made it back home, you had fallen asleep in Elias's arms. Silver opened the door when she saw Elias walking up with you in his arms. She was worried that you had gotten hurt in the woods. "she's okay silver, she merely tripped, silver" silver nodded and let Elias take you to your room.
He set you on your bed and laid the duvet on you and turned to leave. He felt a tug on his sleeve and looked over to see you holding onto his sleeve "can I sleep with you tonight, Elias". He picked you up again and carried you to his room.
He set you in his bed, it was plush and soft and smelled like him, it was comforting. Elias laid the blanket over you it was like yours but a little heavier. You felt the bed dip when he laid down. You scooted over to him and laid your head on his chest. You were laying on his chest when you fell asleep.
Elias liked the feeling of you laying on his chest, it felt right.
When the sun had risen Silver was at Elias's door, she opened the door and peaked in, there were you and Elias cuddling. he was holding you in his arms like he was protecting you. silver smiles and closes the door quietly.
