Work Text:

Seokjin stares at the empty manor of his mansion with a deep sigh. After five months of living with him, his best friend Jungkook decided to go back to the fairy garden because he was missing his family. He left hours ago but Seokjin finds himself unable to move from the manor as he feels loneliness that he hadn't felt in the last five months creep back inside him.

After a few more hours, he decides that sitting in the manor while thinking about his loneliness would do him no good so he makes a move to go to his refrigerator for a quick snack before heading to bed and wallowing in his loneliness in the comfort of the luxurious bed he bought for himself.

Life as a vampire that has been around for several hundred years does get lonely. He spent his early years as a fledgling with the people he knew during his life as a human

But he watched as the people he knew and loved or built a strong connection with slowly age and pass away as time moves while he stayed the same. After that, he still tried his luck at making relationships with humans before realizing they would all die and leave him with a trauma that would be too difficult to get over.

So with failed human relations, his next best option was to befriend fellow vampires or other creatures. This worked out for him as he made friends with vampires, witches and fairies even encountering a demon once. But slowly the few vampires he had befriended also moved on with their lives once they found a mate or wanted a change in their life while the other creatures had their own families or homes to take care of.

So here Seokjin was. All alone and lonely.

His friends did visit him from time to time, like Jungkook did but they didn't stay for long. At the end of the day, it was just Seokjin and his never ending loneliness that remained with him. The big mansion that he had built with the years of wealth he had earned through different means seemed like a fantasy to everyone but felt like a trap to Seokjin, constantly taunting him and reminding him that he was all alone inside those huge walls.

That is when he makes a decision.

If his friends can't come to stay over for a long time, he surely can visit them and ask to stay with them until he feels a little less lonely. So with a destination in mind and determination to fix himself in his heart, he goes to sleep.

Seokjin had bought the train tickets to Daegu the first thing in the morning when he woke up from his restless sleep. He then proceeded to pack whatever he thought he'd need for the trip and buy whatever is missing when the time to use them comes. He drove to the train station in his car which he had custom made so it would be easier to go to places within the city.

Ever since the war between humans and other creatures had ended, they had signed a treaty that would allow all those creatures the same freedom and facilities as the humans. So now, vampires were easily able to buy cars and modify them based on their need. A car and a mansion were the first things Seokjin bought after the war to rest up and regain all the energy he had lost during the years of war.

One of such facilities that the war earned them was a train compartment designed specifically for their kind to ride during the day time. It was expensive compared to the normal train compartments but being alive for years and earning all the wealth did have it's perks at times like these. Seokjin takes a seat in his seat and pulls out the book he had been reading before Jungkook came to visit and spends the rest of the train ride engrossed in the book as he passes different scenery on his way to the countryside.

When the train comes to a halt at the train station in Daegu, Seokjin looks outside the window for the first time and sees that the sun has set. He still pulls on his protective gear that consists of a hat that covers most of his face, his dark coat and his gloves. He picks up his luggage and walks out into the waiting area before pulling out his phone to text the person he came to visit.

me: taetae can you please pick hyung up?

He waits for a few moments before his phone vibrates, signaling a reply from Taehyung.

taetae: I can't pick you up from Seoul rn, give me a few hours.

Seokjin chuckles at his reply, knowing the smartass would reply with something like this. He types out his own reply before sending it and waiting for the call that must be coming through at any moment.

me: that's too much time, can you pick me up from the train station in Daegu in half an hour?

He doesn't wait to wait for long before his phone lights up and the familiar ringtone plays.

"You're in Daegu? When? Why? Give me half an hour tops. I'm rushing to my car right now," Taehyung says, his voice coming out muffled. He must really be rushing with the way the sounds on the other side are coming through.

"Don't rush and drive safely. Take your time," Seokjin scolds him and hears a hum back in reply. "As to why I'm here, I'll tell you that in person."

"Okay, see you then," Taehyung says and hangs up the call. Seokjin pockets his phone and walks towards the juice place at the train station and orders a grape juice for himself. He takes his drink and sits on one of the waiting chairs while drinking the juice to reduce the thirst.

As he is on the last sip of the grape juice, he hears an excited shout of "hyung!" before a body barges into his arms and wraps itself around him like a koala.

"I missed you, Taehyung," Seokjin says, giving the younger vampire a pat on his back.

"I missed you more, hyung. I haven't seen you in decades," Taehyung says with an excited voice as he pulls away from the hug and looks at Seokjin's face. "You're still as handsome as ever."

"Yeah, that's the point of being who I am," Seokjin deadpans, which makes Taehyung smack him on the arm.

"Let's go. You haven't been to my home, right?" Taehyung says as he picks up Seokjin's bag despite his protests so in the end he just lets him.

"No, I haven't. You have sent me pictures though and Jungkookie left no details while describing the place," Seokjin says as they walk towards Taehyung's car.

"Jungkookie, how's the little fairy doing anyways?" Taehyung asks as Seokjin takes a seat on the front seat and Taehyung walks towards the driver's seat.

"He's doing good. He came over to visit for a few months before he went back saying his mother was missing him," Seokjin says, remembering the fairy leaving blue fairy dust all over his house when he got a feeling that his mother was thinking about him and probably missing his presence.

"The Fairy Godmother was so kind to us, I miss her a lot at times," Taehyung says as he starts driving towards the destination.

"I miss her too. Our kind would have been in great danger if it wasn't for The Fairy Godmother's kindness towards us. I sometimes feel as if I owe my life to her," Seokjin says.

During the war, the vampires had suffered a lot due to the lack of proper food and protection from the sunlight. It had been the fairies who had reached out to help by providing them cloud shelter during fights at daytime and animal blood when they ran hungry from fighting. The fairies had come as a blessing for the vampires and the leaders had promised to always protect the fairy land from all evils as a repayment for their kindness.

"We should visit her when we have time," Taehyung comments.

"We're the ones with the most time in the world," Seokjin points out.

"Technicalities," Taehyung says with a wave of his hands. The two continue driving silently towards Taehyung's home with the only sound coming from the car radio that Taehyung has connected with his phone to play some jazz music. They arrive at the bungalow that Taehyung owns within a few minutes. Taehyung parks the car in the garage before leading Seokjin inside the house and into the living area.

He asks Seokjin to wait while he goes and brings him a warm blood bag. He takes the opportunity to look around the living area which had been decorated with dark colors and the colorful furniture which gave the area some life. There was a TV mounted on the wall over the fireplace and some stuffed toys were scattered around the place.

As he looks around, he fails to see when a ball of black and brown fur comes charging at him and starts nosing at his feet. He jumps out of his bones when he feels the fur tickling the skin that is exposed between his socks and his pants. When he looks down, he sees a snout and dark eyes staring at him, as if assessing him.

"Tan-ah, you need to stop scaring people," He hears Taehyung's voice before the little ball of fur is picked up into Taehyung's arms and a bag of blood with a straw is being presented to Seokjin. Seokjin takes the bag, all while in a staring contest with the little furball.

"What happened to your vampire senses, hyung?" Taehyung asks with a chuckle looking at the two of them, amused.

"We don't have something like a vampire sense, Taehyung. I'm not Spider-Man," Seokjin deadpans, breaking the intense eye contact with the dog and looking up at its owner instead.

"I can't believe so many creatures are real but Spider-Man isn't," Taehyung says with a pout as he scratches the back of the dog's neck.

"Me too. I would have loved to be his friend," Seokjin says sodemnly, wishing that the friendly neighborhood superhero was real and living amongst all the other creatures on Earth.

"He would be an amazing friend to have. Can you imagine all the adventures?" Taehyung says with a defeated sigh and Seokjin answers with a sigh of his own.

"Who's this though?" He asks, moving on to discuss a more important topic while taking a sip of his warm blood and sighing in contentment. The important topic being the furball in Taehyung's arm.

"This is Yeontan, my pet dog. He is a Pomeranian," Taehyung says and raises one of the dog's paws to wave at Seokjin.

"You got a pet? Why?" Seokjin asks.

"It gets very lonely around here at times. Especially after Woohyun passed away. I try not to think about him and regret not saving him but I knew, living and dying as a human is what he wanted. Even if I had to let him go, at least I'll be happy knowing that I respected his wishes," Taehyung says with a sad look crossing his face.

Woohyun was Taehyung's lifeline, his everything. The two had been friends since childhood when Taehyung still used to be a human. The now vampire was turned after he got into a messy situation with the vampires and they decided to turn him into them as a punishment. Woohyun helped Taehyung navigate his life and learn how to live as a vampire. It was because of him that Seokjin met Taehyung in the first place and is currently one of his oldest friends.

The only thing Woohyun wanted was to not to be turned into a vampire under any circumstances. He said that he loved his life as a human, mortal or not and wanted to go when his time came, as a human. Despite how much it hurt, Taehyung respected his wishes. That was also a reason for why, despite having the strongest feelings for him, Taehyung decided to never tell him and pursue anything other than what they had, a friendship.

Seokjin was with Taehyung when Woohyun passed away. The vampire was inconsolable and barely left his room, not even to feed. Seokjin, who had already suffered through a few losses on his own, made it his mission to help the young vampire recover. It took time but Taehyung slowly started getting better and going back to his life. But Seokjin knew, getting over someone's death, especially someone who meant the world to you, must have been hard and understands why Taehyung needed a companion.

"Why a dog though?" Seokjin can't help himself but ask.

"Woohyun always talked about wanting to get a dog. We would go visit and sometimes volunteer at animal shelters. It was just one of those days when I was doing the volunteer work alone. I saw this little furball out there and they told me that he had a lot of health complications because of which people didn't want him. So I brought him home with me," Taehyung says with a shrug.

"Health complications? And you still brought him home?" Seokjin asks and looks at the dog who has managed to leave Taehyung's lap and wander back to Seokjin, sniffing his legs.

"I took to him a healer who suggested I take him to a witch. He got treated by Hoseok and is now better. I saw him at the shelter looking so down. He must have seen so many other animals find a loving home while he was stuck there for something that he had no control over. I couldn't just leave him out there. Plus, Tannie makes an amazing company, I'm sure Woohyun would have loved him," Taehyung says looking down at his lap with a sad smile on his face.

"He would have, Taehyung. I think this furball would have him at its feet, spoiling him with anything he could get his hands on," Seokjin says, trying to lighten up the mood. And it works when Taehyung chuckles and starts chasing Tannie around as the dog runs away.

Seokjin watches as the two run around and play with each other. He understands why Taehyung brought the dog home and how it helps him cope with his loneliness. For Taehyung, Tannie is a friend who is always by his side with no expectations other than occasional treats and food. The love the dog gives Taehyung is unconditional and probably helps the vampire on days when he misses the person who was his entire universe.

Seokjin starts picturing himself with someone who gives him unconditional love. A human, another supernatural being or even an animal. Seokjin wishes he had someone who would wait for him back at his home.

He is once again reminded of his loneliness and the reason he came to Taehyung in the first place. He decides that instead of throwing a pity party for himself, he could make the best out of his visit and spend the next few weeks with his friend and his furry companion so that the loneliness that lives in the hole in the middle of his heart leaves. Well, until he has to go back and the loneliness slowly and steadily finds its way back to the hole.

Three weeks .

That's how long Seokjin stays with Taehyung and Yeontan.

To say that the three weeks were some of the best weeks he has had in decades would be an understatement. They didn't do much. They occasionally went out to places since it had been decades (or maybe a century who knows?) since Seokjin last visited Daegu and a lot had changed since but mostly spent the days either lazing around Taehyung's home, talking about the years he had spent on their own or spending time with Yeontan by taking him on walks and playing in Taehyung's back garden.

In the three weeks he spent with the dog and its owner, Seokjin saw how the two would seek for the other when they needed comfort. Yeontan would come and sit on Taehyung's belly when the vampire would lie down or Taehyung would seek out for the dog when he wouldn't see him for a few minutes. Seokjin often found the two cuddling or playing a round of fetch. All in all, Seokjin saw that Yeontan took a great portion of Taehyung's time and left with almost no time to dwell on his loneliness.

That's when he makes a decision.

"Where do you think I could get one too?" Seokjin asks as they drive to the train station so Seokjin can go back to Seoul.

"One what?" Taehyung asks as he looks at Seokjin before concentrating on the road again.

"Dog, pet, whatever," Seokjin says.

"Hyung, can I ask you something?" Taehyung says and pulls the car to a stop. That's when Seokjin realises that they have arrived at their destination.

"Sure you can," Seokjin says coolly despite feeling nervous about what Taehyung wants to ask.

"Did you come here because you felt lonely?" Taehyung asks and looks at Seokjin, sympathy and kindness in his eyes which makes Seokjin nearly tear up. He looks down at his lap and brings his hands to lap to nervously play with his fingers.  "I won't judge you if you did, I understand it."

"I'm just, I have been alive for centuries. I have seen so many people live and so many people die. It doesn't get easier with time. The only way to protect myself was to not get attached to anyone and continue life on my own but I can't seem to do that either. It's just, not having someone to talk to after a long day other than the four walls of a big mansion, not hearing any sounds other than the wind that blows, not having anyone to hold, all of this is starting to get to me. It got better when Jungkook came to visit but once he left and the loneliness came back, I realized I can't go on like this," Seokjin lets out everything he has been keeping in his chest for so long. He lets the tears that have accompanied the words spill out of his eyes and run down his cheeks.

"I understand, hyung. I get you. Everyone thinks immortality is a gift but only the ones who have gone through it understand that having an eternal life takes away more than it gives, especially when the people around you aren't the way you are," Taehyung says and takes Seokjin's hands, giving them a gentle squeeze.

"Coming here helped me a lot. I think I wanted a pet as a companion too. I should probably look into an adoption center when I'm back in Seoul," Seokjin says as Taehyung lets go of his hands to wipe away the remaining tears from his eyes as he takes deep breaths to get himself to stop crying.

"Do you want to get a dog too?" Taehyung asks as Seokjin wipes his face with the wet tissue Taehyung offers and moves to get out of the car to grab his things.

"I don't know, haven't decided on it yet," Seokjin says and pulls his suitcase from the trunk of Taehyung's car.

"You should get a cat," Taehyung says, a mischievous look taking over his face. That is how Seokjin knows that Taehyung is teasing him but decides to indulge him. Seokjin understands that the young vampire is doing this to make Seokjin feel better before leaving.

"Why?" Seokjin asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Cats are said to have nine lives and an average cat is expected to live from somewhere around 12-18 years. Meaning you have a companion for at least the next century," Taehyung says with a straight face before his face breaks into a smile.

"I know you're only teasing me, but I don't think that's a bad idea actually. Having the same companion for the next century actually sounds like the best thing to me. I will look into animal shelters and other places for a cat when I'm back in Seoul. Thank you for everything, Taehyung-ah," Seokjin says and pulls Taehyung into a hug. The young vampire returns the hug before pulling away and letting Seokjin go towards the train station.

"Have a safe journey, hyung. Call me when you reach and come back soon," Taehyung calls out as Seokjin nears the entrance. He yells out a "sure"  in reply before waving at him and walking into the waiting area as there were still a few minutes until his train arrived at the station.

While waiting, he opens up Google on his phone and looks up animal shelters and adoption centers around his area. He selects some places with good reviews and saves their phone number to contact them once he gets back home. He wonders what kind of cat he would get but knows that no matter what, he will love the animal with his entire heart and hopes that the love will be returned.

Seokjin arrives back in Seoul in the late evening. He thanks the past him who decided to drive to the train station instead of taking a cab as he was saved from the hassle of looking for a cab after the tiring train ride. Even the weather looks gloomy with the clouds covering up most of the sky. He just prays that it doesn't start raining until he gets home because he doesn't want to be stuck in the road while there's a heavy downpour.

But luck doesn't seem to be on his side as the rain comes down heavily as soon as he leaves the train station and starts driving home. He sighs out in frustration but starts driving slower, keeping an eye out. The rain starts increasing the more he drives into the city and he has to slow down even more so that the car doesn't start slipping. Due to his slow driving, he notices everything that's passing by, clearly. Which is how he spots a white ball of something standing on a fence and shaking violently. The white of the being stands out in the dark weather almost as if it's glowing. Seokjin doesn't know why, he finds himself stopping his car and taking his umbrella to go investigate.

Upon walking closer to the white ball, he realizes that it has a tail that's tucked around its feet and its ears are drooped down, water droplets dripping from all parts of its body. Upon an even closer look, Seokjin discovers that the white ball is actually a cat and seems stuck on the fence for some reason. Seokjin walks up to it and covers its shivering body with his umbrella to stop the onslaught of the pouring rain on its already vulnerable body. The cat looks up to Seokjin when it feels that there's someone there and Seokjin notices its brown eyes, crusted over with eye boogers and glistening with tears.

Seokjin wants to check if the cat is stuck and free it if it is but he can't do that unless he wants the cat to attack him. He decides that he needs to patiently handle this so he holds his hand out towards the cat's nose letting him sniff it and sense that Seokjin doesn't mean any harm to it. The cat sniffs, looks at him and narrows its eyes but does nothing that would indicate that the cat wants to attack him so Seokjin takes it as a green light.

"Hey there, kitty. I'm not trying to harm you or anything, okay? Are you stuck there? Do you need help getting out?" Seokjin asks in a soft voice as he moves closer to the cat and inspects where it's stuck. When he finds that the cat's body is not stuck anywhere, he looks back at the cat who is watching his every move.

"You don't seem stuck. Are you hurt? Did you injure your leg?" Seokjin asks and slowly moves his hands towards the cat's head to give it a pet and then lowers it towards its body to check for any injuries. Again, he finds nothing and assumes that there might be an internal injury. He decides to take the cat to a vet and get it checked. He doesn't know how long the cat has been out in the rain and wonders if its owner is worried about it. He decides that the vet could check if the cat has any information about its owner.

"Hey buddy, I'm going to pick you up now. I can't see if you have any injuries but a doctor could. Plus, you are soaked to the bone, there might be a chance that you could have caught cold in this weather. So we will get you checked out and contact your owner. You must have a chip right? I can't see a collar around your neck. Are you a stray? Wait, why am I rambling? Let's get you checked," Seokjin says and sees that the cat is staring at him.

When he moves closer to pick up the cat, it meows loudly which makes Seokjin back off. He raises his hands in submission and watches as the cat carefully jumps off the fence and lands on its feet before walking away from Seokjin and towards where his car is parked. Once it reaches the car, it turns to look back at Seokjin, as if waiting for him to come and open the door so they could move. Seokjin takes the hint and runs to his car to open the passenger side of the door where the cat climbs and makes itself comfortable. Seokjin is a little bewildered at the cat's antics but makes his way towards the driver's seat and starts driving towards the vet clinic nearby. He can get his answers about the cat when he gets it checked.

He, the cat turns out to be a male cat. A Siberian cat. Severely underweight and probably a stray, judging by his rough and calloused paws and the lack of a chip or collar. No internal injury but has weak bones due to not getting enough nutritions in the food he consumes. Could have developed pneumonia if he had been left in the rain for a few more minutes. That's all the information that the doctor provides when Seokjin inquires.

"We'll keep the cat overnight to check if the rain had any more effect on his body. We have given him some fluids and medication so he is probably a little drowsy right now. If by the morning, we don't see any complications, we'll send him home and if there's something then we'll decide on the next course of action based on it. Would you like us to find a shelter for the cat or would you like us to call you if there's nothing by tomorrow?" the vet asks as they walk to the counter so Seokjin can pay for the treatment.

He thinks for a moment. He had already been looking to adopt a cat. He was planning on going home tonight and resting before calling up the shelters he had noted down while waiting for the train. He looks back at the white cat with his eyes closed, sleeping peacefully as his belly moves up and down with each breath he takes in. There he makes a decision. If the cat needed a home and care, he could be the one to give that to him.

"Please call me to update about his health. I will pick him up tomorrow if everything is okay. Also, please prepare for vaccinations and other things, I would like to take this cat with me," Seokjin informs and the vet nods.

"I will do that, Mr. Kim," The vet says and Seokjin takes one final look at the cat before walking out of the clinic. He walks up to his car and instead of driving straight to home, he makes a stop at the local pet store. He walks up to an employee and asks their help to pick out the best and important things for his cat so that he would feel welcomed as soon as he steps into Seokjin's mansion.

He gets home at 11pm with a bill of a couple hundred dollars and stuff that requires him to make three trips to get inside his house. But the excitement and happiness he feels at the thought of bringing his companion home makes it all worth it. Once the things are inside and he has settled after washing up, he goes to make himself a cup of tea for some comfort. While the tea is brewing, he checks up on his pantry and takes notes of everything he needs to order and some extra food for the cat.

I really need to stop calling him the cat, he thinks to himself as he writes the grocery list. Once he is done there, he walks back to the kitchen to pour the tea into the cup and brings his container of sugar closer to him so he could add some to his tea. As he is stirring the tea to mix the sugar in, he keeps on thinking of names he could call the cat. Once he is done with the stirring, he picks up the cup and takes a sip. It seems as if the hot tea makes something click in his head and he decides that he now has the perfect name for his cat.

"Discharge papers for Seoltang ," the vet, Dr. Lee, calls out as Seokjin walks out of the observation room where the cat, now named Seoltang, had been the entire night. Seokjin had received a call early in the morning with the information that everything went well over the night and they didn't need to keep Seoltang at the hospital anymore. So Seokjin drove down to the hospital with his cat carrier, ready to bring his new friend home.

"Thank you Dr. Lee. I will call you if there's something I need to ask," Seokjin says and signs the papers before handing his card to clear the bill.

"Feel free to. My personal contact information is listed in the booklet. We'll come by in a week to start his vaccines," Dr. Lee informs him before handing him the booklet. Seokjin opens the booklet and reads through it.

Pet's name: Seoltang

Breed: Siberian

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Owner: Kim Seokjin

As he gets to the section of the diagnosis, he hears someone making their way towards him. He turns around and sees an assistant bringing out Seoltang in their arms. He closes the booklet and places it in his pocket. He walks over to take Seoltang from the assistant and gives him a pat on the head when the cat is comfortably situated in his arms.

Compared to yesterday, the cat looks better. His fur, now dried, glows in its all white glory. The cat's brown eyes which had been crusted with eye boogers were clear from it and were wide and shiny, staring up at Seokjin. Most of all, the cat is more open to Seokjin and is letting him carry him which Seokjin counts as a great progress.

"We have prepared a diet plan for him, if you follow it you can bring him to the weight he should be. We've also listed some supplements and vitamins that he'd need so please get those too. Other than that, there should be no complications with the little one here," Dr. Lee says and moves to rub one of Seoltang's ears but the cat hisses at him which makes him back off. Seokjin laughs at the cat's action and rubs his ears instead, which the cat allows.

"I will take care of that, thank you so much for everything. Please give me a call when you come for the vaccinations," Seokjin says and bows before taking the bag of medication he was handed. He walks outside the clinic to his car and places the things inside before placing Seoltang on the cat seat. The cat starts getting comfortable in the seat as Seokjin opens up the carrier. As soon as the cat hears the sound, he starts hissing and meowing loudly. He jumps away from the seat and Seokjin closes the carrier before raising his hands.

"Okay, no carrier for you. But I need to make sure you're safe, Seoltangie," Seokjin says and picks up the cat to bring him to the front seat. The cat makes himself comfortable there before staring at Seokjin. "Comfortable? Let's get you home then."

Seokjin runs to the driver's side and gets inside before driving towards where his mansion is on the hill. The entire ride, the cat sleeps and only jolts awake when Seokjin hits the break only to go back to sleep again. Seokjin assumes it's to give rest to his body so Seokjin starts being more careful while driving.

They arrive at the mansion in a few minutes. Seokjin opens his side of the car and gets out to open the passenger's side of the door. The cat jumps out of the car and starts stretching its body before looking at Seokjin. Seokjin takes out all the things he brought from the vet clinic, along with the cat carrier before leading the cat inside who follows him obediently. Seokjin uses his powers to open the door as his hands are occupied and the cat looks at Seokjin strangely.

"I'm a vampire," Seokjin clarifies, not knowing why he felt the need to do that. "And this is your new home. I hope you like it." Seokjin says and places the things in his hand on the cupboard next to the door before ushering the cat inside and towards where Seokjin had placed a bed and a cat tree for him. His litter box is also placed in the area so that it's easier for him to do his business while he is doing any other thing.

"This is your side of the house but feel free to roam around," Seokjin says. He then realises that he is not talking to a person but to a cat, a stray cat at that, who probably doesn't understand whatever Seokjin is trying to tell him. But it seems like Seokjin had underestimated the cat who immediately goes to his litter box first and waits. Seokjin looks at him strangely before turning around to walk to the kitchen so he could bring some food for the cat.

When he returns, Seoltang is out of the litter box and is resting on the bed with his feet stretched. Seokjin smiles as he places the bowl of food and water in the food stand. He sees him raise his head to look at the food before laying down and stretching his body further, making Seokjin chuckle.

"Aren't you a sleepy little kitty? Well then, get as much rest your body needs. The food will be waiting here for you. I will be in the living room, if you'd like to join," Seokjin says and doesn't hear anything back so he assumes that Seoltang is asleep so he leaves him be and walks to the living room after making a stop at the kitchen to grab himself a warm cup of blood.

Seoltang doesn't join him in the living room even after hours and when he goes to check up on him, he notices that the food bowl is empty while the cat is back to his bed. Seokjin smiles, thinking that the cat might need some time to get used to the new home and fills up his food bowl before getting started on dinner.

That's how things go for the next few days. Seokjin wakes up, checks up on Seoltang to find that the cat has eaten his food and completed his morning business before cleaning out his litterbox and filling up the food and water bowl while the cat sleeps. While Seokjin is busy with other things, Seoltang wakes up and eats his food before going back to sleep. The cat refuses to spend any time with Seokjin and it makes him a little sad but Seokjin lets him take his time to warm up to him. Until then, he focuses on getting him to his ideal weight and healthy by giving him his supplements and vitamins.

Things change five days after Seokjin has brought the cat home. When he wakes up that morning, he hears noises coming from outside which is strange as the hill he lives on is pretty abandoned with only a few cars passing by every few hours. So Seokjin immediately rushes out to bed and runs downstairs to find Seoltang near the door, staring at it in concentration. Seokjin stays out of the cat's sight and watches him in curiosity.

The curiosity turns into horror when the door opens without Seokjin opening it and Seokjin realises that Seoltang is not an ordinary cat. He watches in horror as the cat runs towards the open door, making his way towards the exit door. Seokjin immediately springs to action and runs to chase the cat only to hiss in pain when he feels a burning sensation on his exposed arm.

Sunlight.

"Seoltangie, stop," Seokjin calls out, covering the burning part of his arm by pulling on his t-shirt as he runs after the cat. Seoltang turns around to look at Seokjin before he suddenly jumps and starts running faster. Seokjin is having difficulty running after him while also protecting his exposed skin and things become even more difficult when he hears a car horn due to his supernatural hearing abilities. He realizes that the car is speeding towards the direction of the house and he needs to stop the cat before the car gets any closer.

Everything that happens next is a blur due to how quickly things happen. Seokjin uses whatever strength he can muster to quicken his pace and catch up with Seoltang. At the same time, the car comes speeding and nearly hits the cat but Seokjin pushes him out of the way and the car drives off with Seokjin on one side and a crying cat on the other side of the road. Seokjin's heart breaks as he hears the cat cry so he immediately gets up and picks up the cat to see him licking one of his back legs. He takes him inside and calls up the vet clinic before placing him on the bed.

"Why did you run, Seoltang? You could have gotten so hurt. Why were you trying to run away from hyung?" Seokjin babbles out as he clutches one of the front legs on the cat and rubs Seoltang's chest to calm the cat's racing heart.

"He is a stray. They are not really used to being in one place so they often try to run away. Please keep your doors and windows locked if you don't want something like this happening again. As for the injury, it's small. Nothing too serious and won't need an x-ray. I have taped it up, make sure to change it daily after applying the ointment," Dr. Lee says as he rubs Seoltang's ears while the cat purrs in relief with its eyes closed.

Seokjin doesn't tell him that the door was indeed locked and the cat somehow managed to open the door. He doesn't want the doctor to think he's crazy so he keeps the information for himself and reminds himself to use the deadbolt that he had installed in his door but never really used. He thanks the doctor on his way out and leads him outside the door with a promise to call him if something happens.

Seokjin walks back inside to see the cat peacefully sleeping so he fills up his food and water bowl before getting started on his day. When he returns, the food is gone and the cat is back in his bed.

Back to square one, he thinks bitterly.

Things do go back to square one from that point on, Seokjin waking up and leaving the food for the cat who eats it while Seokjin isn't around. The only thing that changes this time is Seokjin waking Seoltang to change his bandages and check up on his wound. By day 7 of Seoltang trying to escape, his wound had healed up well. In this time, Seokjin had done his research on cats and the thing he saw on the day Seoltang tried to run away but he found nothing about cats having the ability to open locked doors. The only thing he finds is about some animals being given powers by some witches but these animals are mostly owned by said witches so Seokjin rules it out.

On the 8th day, Seokjin wakes up to noises again. This time, he grabs his coat as he runs downstairs to find that the cat has managed to open the door and is just about to leave when Seokjin catches up to him and closes the door quickly. The cat runs back to his bed and looks as if he is glaring at Seokjin but he doesn't know that for sure.

For the next 5 days, Seoltang tries to run away. And each day Seokjin wakes up to find the doors open and the cat either about to leave or has already left so he has to run to catch up and bring him back home. On the 6th day, Seokjin brings the cat back and places him on the bed before sighing out in frustration. He rubs his hands over his face before grabbing his hair and pulling on it. He doesn't realise when tears start streaming down his face but feels them as they make their way down his cheeks and onto his arms.

"Why are you doing this to me? Is there something wrong here? Is something lacking? Is your bed not comfortable? Or your tree? Am I missing something? Please tell me. I will get you anything you like. I know you have some special abilities so please use them to communicate with me," Seokjin cries out in frustration.

"All I wanted was a friend, a companion to keep me from feeling lonely. I didn't ask for this. If you're unhappy here, please let me know and I will let you go. I won't keep you here against your will but please, let me know. I will try my best to give you whatever it is you need. A new toy, a new bed, better food or even freedom from here. I can bring you back to the place I found you if that's what you want. But please just tell me instead of trying to run away," Seokjin sniffles. When he looks, the cat is staring down at the bed. Seokjin lets out a heavy sob before getting up from his spot and going to his bedroom. He locks the door and falls on the bed.

He starts crying. Letting out all the tears born out of frustration and loneliness. He cries until his eyes feel heavy. He cries until he feels there's nothing more left. He cries until he feels his eyes droop and lull him into a restless sleep, wishing for things to change when he wakes up.

When he next wakes up, he feels a weight on his back. He feels confused for a moment before he shakes his body to get rid of the weight and hears a thump and a loud meow sound. He looks at the side where the noise came from and sees Seoltang laying on his back on Seokjin's bed, meowing. His eyes are still heavy and puffy from his crying earlier but the laugh he lets out at the cat's antics is genuine. He takes a closer look at the cat who meows loudly before turning around and laying on his stomach, wiggling to find a comfortable spot.

"Are you having fun?" Seokjin asks as Seoltang gets up from the bed and places himself on Seokjin's lap which is available to him once Seokjin sits up on the bed. Seokjin starts petting his body which makes purr.

"How did you have a sudden change of heart? Was my small breakdown enough for you?" Seokjin says with a slightly bitter chuckle but he gets nothing in reply so he continues petting the cat until he hears his breath, evening indicating that the cat is asleep.

Things change for the good over the next few days. Now, Seoltang doesn't try to run away and actually spends time with Seokjin. The change came the morning after the day Seokjin had a breakdown and found the cat in his room.

When Seokjin wakes up, Seoltang is by his door. He walks with Seokjin as the vampire cleans his litter box and fills his food bowl. Seoltang finishes the breakfast Seokjin offers in front of him and continues to stare at the food bowl until Seokjin gives in and fills up the bowl with some extra cat food which the cat eats up happily. After that, while Seokjin prepares himself breakfast, Seoltang is perched up on one of the counters, staring out of the window. When Seokjin finishes up breakfast and brings it to the dining table, the cat follows and sits on one of the dining chairs, watching Seokjin eat.

After that, as Seokjin brings out a book and starts reading it in the living room, the cat also brings one of his toys that Seokjin had kept in the basket near his bed. The two do their own things for most of the afternoon but something about having a companion eases Seokjin's mind and he switches between reading his book and looking at Seoltang playing with a toy.

In the evening, Seoltang retires to bed after playing for most of the afternoon and Seokjin leaves the mansion to attend to some business in the town. He also meets up with his donor and feeds as he felt that his energy was dwindling. He picks up some blood bags from the supermarket along with a few cans of tuna for Seoltang before making his way back home. As he opens the door, he is welcomed by the sight of Seoltang sitting on the couch and staring out of the window. When he hears Seokjin entering, he jumps from the couch and comes to rub his body against Seokjin's legs which makes the vampire chuckle. He picks up the cat and rubs his ear before taking him to the kitchen so he can unpack and get started on dinner.

After both of them have their dinner, Seokjin places Seoltang in his bed and makes his way to his own bedroom and falls asleep, smiling at the events of the day.

From that point on, Seokjin and Seoltang became inseparable. Wherever Seokjin goes, Seoltang follows. Whether it's his bedroom or the living room, Seoltang is always next to him or sometimes even on him. Always demanding for pets or cuddles which Seokjin happily indulges him in. Seokjin also makes a habit of taking him outside of the mansion, towards the open area of the hill so the cat could feed his instincts and not try to run away again, which he hasn't tried since then. They find a comfortable routine of being around each other and also being away from each other which has helped Seokjin with his loneliness a lot. He can't even remember how he felt when Seoltang wasn't around.

So safe to say, Seokjin is happy with the decision of getting a pet and he tells Taehyung so. The young vampire is extremely excited to meet the cat and promised to drop by when he has nothing going on. Seokjin asked him to bring Yeontan with him so that he could get the two pets acquainted.

In the middle of this, Seokjin has forgotten about Seoltang's abilities and has not mentioned it to anyone else. The thought of the cat opening doors and windows has been sent to the back of his mind where he doesn't remember to look more into it as it hasn't created issues for him recently.

Well, that was until someone showed up at his door.

"Hobi?" He says when he opens the door to find the smiling witch on the other side of the door. The witch is clad in his dark robe but has added some colorful pins on his robe which some might find odd but is something Seokjin associates with the eccentric witch in front of him.

"Hyung hi! I haven't seen you in decades. I missed your handsome face so much," Hoseok says as he pulls Seokjin into a hug and practically squeezes the life out of him until Seokjin punches him on the back and wheezes about not being able to breathe. "Sorry, I got a little excited."

Seokjin takes a few deep breaths to get his breathing to normal after Hoseok pulls away from the hug. When he is sure that he isn't about to die out from being airless, he smiles at the witch.

"How are you here without giving me any prior information? Not that I mind," Seokjin says and opens the door wider so Hoseok can come inside.

"I did try to inform you but I couldn't reach you so I decided to show up, I knew you wouldn't mind," Hoseok says with a shrug. Seokjin chuckles and asks the witch to come inside. He takes a few steps inside the house before stopping and looking around. "Why is there a witch in your house?"

"A witch? You're the only one here besides me?" Seokjin asks, not understanding the question.

"No, there's a witch here. I can sense one," Hoseok says and starts looking around.

"Hobi, you're the only witch I know. And even then, no one has visited me in nearly 8 months after Jungkookie left," Seokjin tries to explain but Hoseok is having none of it as he walks further inside the mansion, looking for this witch that Seokjin has no idea about. He halts when he comes in front of Seoltang who immediately runs to hide behind Seokjin.

"Seoltang, don't worry. He is a nice witch. Hobi, meet Seoltang, my cat and Seoltangie, meet Hoseok," Seokjin says as he picks up the cat and raises one of his paws to wave at Hoseok.

"Seoltang?" Hobi asks as he looks at the cat curiously.

"That's his name," Seokjin confirms.

"No it's not," Hoseok immediately dismisses.

"What do you mean it's not? I literally gave him the name and it's on paper," Seokjin defends.

"No it's not his name. His name is Yoongi. He just said so himself," Hoseok says and points to the cat who jumps out of his arms and runs to Hoseok.

"Of course I can hear you. But it's like static noise? You know like the spirit box they use in BuzzFeed Unsolved?" Hoseok says and waits for a moment before a look of pure shock takes over his face.

"You haven't shown him BuzzFeed Unsolved? What kind of supernatural creature are you? Oh my god please tell me you have shown him some of those cat tiktoks I sent you. If you haven't then I might have to kick your ass. How haven't you introduced him to our culture?" Hoseok scolds Seokjin while Seokjin is confused about everything that is happening right now and he hopes the two can see it on his face.

"Oh he has? Oh that cat care tiktok is my favorite too. But I love the Neko trend as well. You do too? Oh you're going to be my new best friend, Witch Yoongi," Hoseok says. Seokjin knows what tiktok they are referencing as Seoltang has a habit of staring at Seokjin's phone whenever he is using it around him but he didn't know that the cat could actually understand what he was watching. But that isn't the concern right now.

"Hobi, are you okay? Why are you talking to Seoltang and who is Yoongi? Who do you hear?" Seokjin starts firing his questions. Hoseok and Seoltang look at him before a look of horror crosses Hoseok's face and he looks down at the cat.

"Wait, you're the witch I'm sensing in this house?" He asks the cat and Seokjin thinks that the witch has lost his mind before he remembers something.

The doors, the windows, and Seoltang unlocking them. The research about witches giving abilities to their pets. But if Seoltang himself is a witch, why would he make himself a cat? All the thoughts hit Seokjin at once and he needs to know the answers.

"Hobi, what are you saying? What is he saying?" Seokjin says and points to the cat.

"Your cat is a witch. His name is Yoongi, not Seoltang. Shit, do you have chalk around here? Wait, I have some in my car. Please clear out this space for me, I will get your answers," Hoseok says and runs out of the door while Seokjin immediately springs to action. He clears the space from all the things that were scattered around and makes space for Hoseok to draw and get his answers.

Hoseok runs back inside with his bag and dumps all its contents onto the living room floor. He looks through everything he dropped and pulls out the chalk with an "aah-haa". He pushes out everything that he had dropped from his bag to the side and starts drawing the pentagram while whispering his spell. When he is done with that, he looks at Seokjin before pointing at Seoltang.

"Place him on the circle there," Hoseok says and points at the circle in question. Seokjin looks at the witch in confusion but follows through with his request. He wants to get his answers and learn what Seoltang and Hoseok were talking about and why Hoseok said that Seoltang is a witch named Yoongi.

He places the cat on the circle and walks back to lean against the wall when Hoseok motions him to back off. Hoseok closes his eyes and starts chanting a spell while Seoltang patiently sits within the circle, observing Hoseok with his brown eyes. Hoseok keeps on chanting and suddenly stops before opening his eyes and looking at Seoltang.

"Your true self will show itself here," Hoseok says and points at a circle that's in front of Seoltang and suddenly, Seokjin sees something that drains all the color from his face.

There is an image. Dark hair, pale skin, dressed in black robes, small cat like eyes looking around everything before looking down at his hands and then widening in surprise, small button nose and pretty pink lips, bottom lip pushed out into a pout which also goes wide when he sees his hands.

"Witch Yoongi," Hoseok says and the image nods. His mouth opens and he speaks but Seokjin can't hear him.

"What is he saying?" Seokjin asks frantically. He is having a hard time trying to wrap his head around everything. He can't believe that the cat he was raising all this time was actually a witch. The witch's real form was not helping with Seokjin's dilemma as he is having difficulty getting the image of his wide eyes and wide mouth out of his head. So he is grasping at whatever straws he can find to keep his sanity and not lose his mind.

"You can't hear him? Wait, I'll do something about it," Hoseok says and says a different spell. Suddenly, a third voice fills the room. This voice is deeper, sounds slightly slurred as if the speaker just woke up. The words he speaks are drawled out and it's oddly calming to hear. Offhandedly, Seokjin thinks he would like a voice like this to talk him to sleep someday. He gets so lost in the voice that he doesn't focus on the actual words and who it is coming from.

"I'm me again, oh my god. It's me," the fog induced by the voice clears up and Seokjin's brain starts making sense of the words that are being spoken by the voice. He raises his head and looks at the image who is looking at his hands in wonder and amazement, unshed tears very clear in them.

"How did this happen? Why are you living as a cat?" Seokjin finds himself asking the image who turns his face to look at Seokjin with a small smile.

"Do you want the entire story from the beginning?" The image asks and Seokjin nods, not taking his eyes off of him.

"Well, let me start by introducing myself. I'm Min Yoongi, a witch from the Daegu coven," The image, the witch, Yoongi, introduces himself.

"I'm Kim Seokjin, a vampire and that's Jung Hoseok," Seokjin says, pointing at the witch who has been quiet the entire time, observing the two.

"I'm from the Gwangju coven but I was planning on visiting the Daegu coven soon," Hoseok answers when Yoongi turns to face him. Hoseok might have realised what the other witch wanted and answered him.

"Introductions down. Let me get into the story," Yoongi says and takes a deep breath.

"I was born into the Daegu coven around 2 centuries ago. I was one of the smartest witches in my batch. Always at the top of my classes and learning the things they taught very easily. By the time I was 16, they allowed me to leave the coven and go out to explore other covens so I could learn more. I decided to come to Seoul to meet a very powerful witch. I had heard of Witch SunHee from the other witches in my coven and the ones who came to visit. I was always fascinated by her and wanted to visit her someday so when I got an opportunity, I grabbed it," Yoongi starts. He looks down at this lap and tries to pick up on a loose thread of his robe before he realises that he is an image and not real as he continues speaking.

"I wanted to be her apprentice and learn from her so I could be half as powerful as she was. But I was told that she doesn't take apprentices easily so on my way to Seoul, I stopped by every coven for a month or two so I could learn a new skill that would impress Witch SunHee. With that, I was in Seoul after a year and a half. When I entered her home, she looked me up and down before telling me that she wanted to conduct a few tests before allowing me to work under her. And tests she conducted. Giving me spells to potions that would ruin my life if done slightly wrong. But I was smart, not to toot my own horn but so I succeeded. At the age of 18, I was successfully an apprentice under the most powerful witch in the entirety of South Korea," Yoongi continues as he turns around to face the cat whose eyes are closed but is still in a sitting position, clearly under Hoseok's spell.

"But there was something about me that everyone always told me would get me in trouble. I was too honest, always had to speak what was on my mind immediately. It did get me into a lot of trouble as a kid but I thought I had learned how to control it as I grew up but I guess it never left me. So a few months into my apprenticeship, I was allowed into Witch SunHee's main lair where her cat was. I saw the cat standing in front of an easel and the entire room covered in paintings, that looked, well now I can be honest about it, they looked like total shit as if they were drawn by a toddler. But amongst all those paintings was a painting of a cat. The painting looked like it was trying to mimic the cat that was in front of the easel but had failed miserably in execution. So I voiced that exact thought out, not knowing what the meaning behind the painting was and why suddenly Witch SunHee looked like she wanted to turn me into soot with her bare eyes," Yoongi says. His words make Hoseok chuckle a little and even Seokjin who can't bring himself to think of anything at the moment fails to control the amused smile that makes its way to his face when Yoongi describes the painting.

"I failed to notice that the cat was holding a brush and the easel in front of him was holding a canvas where a painting of the scene in front of us was being painted. So not only had I insulted a self portrait of Witch SunHee's cat but I had also insulated one of her biggest magic that was providing her cat with art skills. So you could say she was pissed and oh boy was she pissed. Not only did I lose my apprenticeship, which in hindsight doesn't seem like a big deal compared to what came next. I was cursed to be a cat who had to perfect the skill of art without any witch magic. I had to draw a portrait of the cat using my art skills and when Witch SunHee was satisfied that mine was better, I would go back to how I was. But the tragedy of my life. I did master the art skills, it took me years but I managed to do so. Only for Witch SunHee and her cat to pass away in a house fire. Now here I am, two centuries later, trying to find a witch powerful enough to undo the curse," Yoongi says with a sigh.

There is pindrop silence for a moment before loud laughter erupts from the vampire and the other witch. They had assumed that the poor witch must have gone through grave troubles to be cursed to be a cat but being cursed for insulting a cat's painting was the last thing on the list. Seokjin and Hoseok couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity of the situation while Yoongi's image was huffing and pouting in protest.

"My misery isn't funny. Do you know how hard it is to be a cat? And learn how to draw? And learn how to paint without ending up with the paint inside your mouth, ruining everything you eat for the next few days? Do you know how hard it is to be a stray cat wandering around, trying to find a witch? Do you know how many witches who couldn't hear me had tried to take me in and make me theirs? Oh god the amount of times I had to run away from an overbearing witch. None of it is funny," Yoongi complains, whining and pouting which makes the two laugh harder.

"Okay I admit your situation was not funny but how you got into it was definitely very funny," Hoseok wheezes out as he wipes the tears that have managed to escape his eyes in the middle of his laughter fit.

"Yeah, yeah laugh away. Ha ha how funny that I got turned into a cat for insulting a cat ha ha," Yoongi says in a dry tone. When Hoseok and Seokjin finally calm down, they take deep breaths to bring their breathing back to normal and urge Yoongi to complete the rest of his story.

"So yeah I have been going around different areas of the country to find a witch who would reverse or undo the curse but so far I have had no luck. I was looking into a new lead I found, a witch who had recently come back from abroad after working under a very powerful witch in America when the handsome vampire found me. I hadn't realised how tired I was until they put in that hospital bed and started pointing out everything wrong with my body. I decided to take a few days off from searching about the witch and decided to rest in this house. When I felt rested enough, I decided to try and go back but he wouldn't let me leave. When I tried again and again, he got too frustrated and poured his feelings out to me," Yoongi says, pointing at Seokjin. Seokjin realises that Yoongi is talking about the time before he had a sudden change of heart and started getting along with Seokjin. But there was something Yoongi said that he has stored into the back of his mind to enquire about later.

He called me handsome vampire.

"I felt bad when he started crying about feeling lonely. In the two centuries I have spent trying to find someone who could bring me back, I had forgotten what it felt to be around people who cared for me. I had never realized how much of a lonely life I was living until he pointed out his own loneliness. So I decided to stay and try to be his friend, his companion or whatever he needed. I also thought that since he knew I had special abilities, he would talk to someone about them and maybe they could help me or maybe I could leave when we both had our fill of each other and didn't feel so lonely anymore. But he started forgetting about my abilities and I started forgetting about my old life as we started getting more and more comfortable around each other. But now that I have seen myself again, now that he knows my story, I need to go back. I need to become a real person again, I can't live as a cat anymore. Please help me," Yoongi says pleading, his voice nearing desperation by the end of his speech.

Now that everything is out, Seokjin understands Yoongi's point of view. Being a cat for nearly 200 years and having to go from one place to another in search of someone who could give you back your old life yet turning up empty handed each time must have taken a toll on the witch. He must have dealt with so much and wanting to be free from it must have been his top priority so Seokjin doesn't hold the first few days of difficultly against him. Not that he held it against him previously but learning about his story has definitely given him a new perspective.

So then, Seokjin makes a decision.

"I will help you. I can take you to the witch you were looking for. Is it the one where I found you?" Seokjin asks and sees the moment relief crosses over the witch's face and a smile overtakes. A beautiful smile, with his gums showing and his eyes disappearing.

"I was told it was his house but when I went in I couldn't find anything," Yoongi answers.

"What's the witch's name? I could try asking around and finding something about him?" Hoseok speaks up. Even the younger witch has a serious look on his face which is something that's very rare considering how easygoing the witch normally is.

"Kim Namjoon, from the Ilsan coven," Yoongi says, turning to face Hoseok.

"Okay, give me a few days. I will try to find his address and tell him your situation. I will let you know if he can help you or not," Hoseok says and Yoongi nods. Hoseok gives him a smile and closes his eyes before chanting a spell. "I have made it so that Seokjin-hyung can hear you even in your cat form. So now you two can communicate easily."

"Thank you so much, Hobi. That would help us out a lot," Seokjin says with a grateful smile. They both look at Yoongi who has a smile on his face and looks happy and satisfied. Better than how he looked when Hoseok had first called him to show his real self.

"You can send me back to my body now," Yoongi breaks the silence and Hoseok nods before chanting the closing spell and the image of Yoongi slowly disappears, Seoltang's eyes opening and his body moving to get out of the circle.

Back to cat, They hear Yoongi's voice speak with a sigh which makes them both double down in laughter.

You guys are very cruel for laughing at a witch's misery, Yoongi scolds them which increases their laughter.

"But hyung, what was it about you feeling lonely? You know you could come visit me anytime and stay with me for as long as you need to?" Hoseok says once they have settled down. Seokjin offers the witch a cup of tea and the cat some food, taking a warm cup of blood for himself.

"It was nothing. I just felt it hit me suddenly when Jungkookie left after 5 months of staying with me," Seokjin says with a shrug and takes a sip from his cup.

"Oh Jungkookie, how is the fairy? And the Fairy Godmother? You reminded me how much I was missing them. I should visit them soon," Hoseok says with a reminiscing smile.

"He's doing good, so is the Godmother. He came here for 5 months and left when he felt his mom was missing him," Seokjin informs and Hoseok nods.

"Is the Godmother still trying to set you up with Jungkook? That was the funniest part after the war ended," Hoseok says cheekily. Seoltang, or Yoongi, whose head had been buried inside the food bowl all this time raises his head and starts listening attentively.

Interesting, Seokjin notes with a smirk.

"I haven't seen her so I don't know if she'll try that again. I hope not though," Seokjin says shivering, remembering how the Godmother was adamant about setting up Seokjin with Jungkook so he could be with a strong willed being who could keep his little self safe from all troubles.

"Why not? Little Jungkookie had a crush on you, you two would look together too," Hoseok says, teasing while poking Seokjin's side. In that moment, they hear a different voice butt into the conversation.

Who's Jungkook? Yoongi asks and comes to make himself comfortable between Seokjin and Hoseok on the couch.

"Oh, he's a fairy. We have known him and the rest of the fairyland since the war. He was one of the fairies who hunted down animals for the vampires to feed on and he spent a lot of time around hyung and the other vampires," Hoseok explains to the cat, not understanding what his intentions are.

Very very interesting, Seokjin notes.

Oh, that's good. He must be nice. Yoongi says and jumps from the couch to go to his bed.

"What's up with him?" Hoseok asks, pointing at the cat who has stretched his legs on the bed.

"He must be tired from the ritual you did. Let him rest. And you, sir, should take some rest too," Seokjin says, getting up from the couch and taking his and Hoseok's cup to the sink.

"No rest for the wicked. I'm going to go and find information about this Kim Namjoon," Hoseok says and takes his bag that he packed while Seokjin prepared his tea.

"Take a nap first," Seokjin says with finality, leaving no room for argument. The witch huffs in reply but goes to bed without putting up a fight.

When Hoseok is out of the living room, Seokjin clears up the space and moves to go to his own room when a voice stops him.

Seokjin? He hears Yoongi's voice and sees that the cat has raised his head to look at Seokjin.

Seokjin hums in reply and walks over to the cat's bed. He kneels to his height and starts petting him when he feels that the cat is nervous about something with the way he said his name.

What if I do go back to being a witch again? What will I do then? Yoongi speaks as Seokjin softly pets his body.

"Then you go back to being yourself. Isn't that what you wanted?" Seokjin asks, confused about what prompted this question.

That is what I wanted and what I still want. But I have been so fixated on this goal that I have never thought of what would happen after that. Where will I go? Everyone I knew in my coven must be dead by now. Will they still remember me and let me back in? Do I even have a home anymore? Yoongi speaks. With each word, his voice gets smaller and sadder. Seokjin's heart breaks with each word and lifts the cat from his bed to cuddle him into his chest to ease him a little.

"It's understandable that you never thought past your original goal and being fixated on it. But what do you mean where will you go? You can come back here. I did say I needed a companion, didn't I?" Seokjin asks, softly rubbing between his ears.

Will you still take care of me even when I'm not a cat? Yoongi asks. The cat looks up at him with his eyes soft and open, showing everything he is feeling so Seokjin maintains eye contact when he starts speaking.

"I will take care of you for as long as you need. Cat or not," He says with as much honestly as he can muster. He can feel the cat taking in his words and letting them soak into his head. When he is satisfied with the reply and Seokjin's honesty, he starts licking Seokjin's other hand which had been wrapped around his body. Seokjin laughs as he allows the cat to lick his hand and continues rubbing between his ears.

Don't laugh, this is the only way I can show my gratitude as a cat. Yoongi huffs which makes Seokjin cackle up harder. Yoongi maintains the huffy nature for a few seconds before he too gives up and starts giggling.

He has a pretty laugh. Yoongi's voice is heard and Seokjin thinks that the witch forgot that Seokjin hearing his voice also meant that he could hear every thought the witch was having and must have let that thought slip. So he says nothing and pretends that he never heard anything.

He hears a bunch of other thoughts over the next few days. Some are questionable like the one thought Yoongi had while Seokjin was too impatient to pour out a blood bag into a cup and had started drinking directly from the bag.

Oh wow, that looks so hot. I wonder how it feels when he is feeding from a person. I wish he would feed from me. Wait what? Why am I thinking like a horny teenager?

Technically Yoongi was a teenager since he was cursed when he was 18. Seokjin doesn't call him out and once again pretends that he never heard anything.

Sometimes the thoughts are not directed towards Seokjin, but are still way too funny. Like the one time Seokjin had placed him on a pool floaty in his indoor pool.

Wow, I could get used to this cat life. Doing nothing but floating around the pool in a pool floaty. Ah what a life. No thoughts, no worries, only a cat on a pool floaty.

The thought only lasts for a few moments until there is a small wave in the pool and the floaty topples over which makes the cat fall into the pool.

Nope nope. Fuck this life. I want to be a witch again. Fuck why is it so cold. My bones are crackling. Where is this stupid handsome vampire who was supposed to take care of me?

And then a loud, SEOKJIN! SEOKJIN!! SAVE ME!!

Seokjin is too busy laughing at the cat's thoughts and his fall. He does jump into the pool and pull the cat out of the water before wrapping him in a fluffy towel, wiping him dry.

Ah, softness. And air. Oh mighty oxygen. Yoongi thinks with a sigh as Seokjin brings the cat inside to place him in front of the fireplace and warm him up.

An unexpected yet slightly awaited phone call breaks their routine this time. Seokjin is making breakfast for himself when his phone starts ringing in the living room and Seokjin runs to pick it up. As soon as he picks up the call, there is a loud voice saying the only thing they had been longing to hear.

"I found Kim Namjoon, he is in Seoul," Hoseok says, excitedly. Though Seokjin can't see him, he knows the witch is smiling widely.

"You found him? Thank you Hobi. Did you talk to him though?" Seokjin says, his own lips breaking into a smile. He sees Yoongi walk into the room and sit next to him as he tries to listen into the conversation.

"I don't halfass my job, of course I talked to him. But before I could explain your situation, he agreed eagerly," Hoseok says.

"Without knowing what we wanted?" Seokjin asks, confused.

"Apparently he is a fan of you and said he'd help you with anything you want. So he didn't even let me explain what we wanted and called us over as soon as possible," Hoseok says. He can hear typing noises coming from the other side but his mind is fixated on something else.

"A fan of me?" Seokjin asks, bashfully and very confused.

"I think most of the supernatural world knows who you are. You did play a huge part in settling the war with the humans," Hoseok says and Seokjin hums before his phone vibrating with a text interrupts him. "Anyways, we will talk about your fanclub some other time. I sent you his address. Come as soon as you can, I'm about to leave."

"Yeah sure, let me change and grab something small to eat," Seokjin says and hurriedly runs to his room to start getting dressed, not knowing Yoongi had followed him too. He takes off his t-shirt and moves to pull on a full sleeved button up.

Wow, shoulders. Yoongi's voice makes him realise that Yoongi is in the room with him and the sound of loud laughter that comes from the other side tells him that Hoseok also heard the cat witch's thoughts.

"Tell the horny witch I said hi. Bye see you there," Hoseok says and cuts off the call before Seokjin can reply. Seokjin turns to look at the cat who is standing there as if he hadn't had that thought just now.

"Yoongi, can you go and grab me a granola bar until I get dressed?" Seokjin asks as he pulls out a pair of slacks from his closet. He watches as the cat drags its body out and continues getting dressed. It is in that moment that reality sinks for Seokjin. Up until now, he hadn't given himself a moment to think about everything and had operated on autopilot but now he realizes what has been happening around him.

He brought a cat home, but the cat was actually a witch who had been cursed to be a cat. There was a chance that the cat could turn back into a witch today. He was taking a cat to Kim Namjoon's house and there is a high chance that he might return with a witch and not his cat, Seoltang. But a witch named Min Yoongi who he had no idea about. All he knew about Yoongi was the things he told when Hoseok brought out his real self. A glitchy image is the only idea Seokjin has of what Yoongi looks like.

But for some reason, Seokjin isn't scared or freaked out. He doesn't feel strange about it. Even after the realization hits, even after he makes sure that he knows what he is signing up for after he brings Yoongi to Kim Namjoon's house, Seokjin doesn't feel anything other than ready. Ready to undo the curse on Yoongi, ready to let go of his cat Seoltang and meet Witch Min Yoongi.

Seokjin is ready to tackle anything else that comes along the way and he isn't scared.

Are you done? He hears a voice from outside the door and understands that the witch might be feeling eager to go back to his real self.

"Yes, I'm coming," Seokjin calls out and gives himself one final look in the mirror, walking out of his room. He takes his gloves and coat from the hanger outside and opens the door for him and Yoongi to walk out. The cat hands him his granola bar and skips towards where his car parked. Seokjin reaches after him and opens up the passenger side so he can get in and get comfortable before running to the driver's side. When he feels that both of them are seated and comfortable, he starts the car and drives to the location Hoseok had texted him when they were on the call.

Seokjin feels as if he stepped into an art gallery when he walks into Kim Namjoon's house. The walls of the house are filled with different artworks with different signatures at the bottom. Even Yoongi is surprised to see all the artwork but more about the fact that the other witch is as interested in art as he is. He walks around naming each work he recognizes and wishes to talk to Namjoon about how he got his hands on certain pieces.

"Oh my, hello Vampire Seokjin. It's truly an honor to be in your presence," They hear a voice which pulls them out of admiring the artwork on the walls and pulls their attention towards a person who is clad in a pair of loose fitting jeans and t-shirt, looking rather comfortable and casual next to Hoseok who is in his black robe.

"Hello, Witch Namjoon. The pleasure is all mine," Seokjin says with a bow.

Hello Witch Namjoon. Yoongi greets. He sees Namjoon look around for the source of the voice before his eyes fall on the cat who is standing behind Seokjin.

"Hello? Your cat can talk?" Namjoon asks, confused as he moves closer to the cat to inspect.

"That's what we're here for. My cat is technically not a cat but a witch who was cursed to be a cat," Seokjin says and explains Yoongi's situation to the witch who nods understanding and starts looking amused when they get deeper into the story.

"So you're telling me, that the infamous Witch Yoongi of the Daegu coven, the one that the coven still celebrates as the smartest witch born into their coven, was cursed to be a cat because he insulted a cat? Oh, this is hilarious," Namjoon starts laughing like a madman while the rest of them stare at him.

Still celebrates? What do you mean? Yoongi asks, clearly not appreciating Namjoon's amusement but letting it slide since he has different issues to get on to.

"They still talk about you, saying that you were one of the smartest born in the coven. They were sad when they didn't hear from you for over a year and thought something might have happened to you. You never told them you were planning on coming to Seoul so they couldn't even look for you. Why didn't you try going back?" Namjoon explains.

To be honest, Seokjin had wondered the same thing. According to Yoongi, Witch SunHee had died a few years after Yoongi was cursed, meaning most of the people in his coven that he knew were still alive. Had Yoongi gone back to the coven, they could have helped him figure something out or help him in his quest to find someone to undo his curse. Yoongi not going back didn't make any sense but Seokjin never pushed, deciding it was Yoongi's story to tell when he was ready.

I was embarrassed of them having the same reaction as you. They saw me as this thing that could never be in a situation like I was. If I went back in this form and told them my story, all the things that I had worked hard for years would fall and I would be labeled as the stupid witch who was cursed because he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. I couldn't bear to live with that thought. So I decided I would do this on my own and go back proudly. But as years went by, all hope died and I just never felt the need to go back thinking no one there would even recognize me anymore. Yoongi says sodemnly.

Seokjin picks the cat and hugs him to his chest when he feels the sadness radiate in his voice. He feels bad for Yoongi, he wishes that the witch didn't have to go through all of that and could have found comfort and belonging in his coven. He understands him feeling embarrassed to go back and see his family react to his problem with laughs and how that would be a punch to the gut to his self-esteem.

I love being a cat. Yoongi's thought breaks the silence in the room and within seconds, three loud bombing sounds of laughter fill up the entire space while the cat meows in confusion.

"Does he not know that we can hear his thoughts?" Hoseok asks in between his laughs and he feels Yoongi stiffening in his arms.

You can hear my thoughts? Even Seokjin? Yoongi asks and jumps away from Seokjin's arms to hide under a table in Namjoon's living room.

"Yes, Yoongi. Each and every one of them," Seokjin clears up and the cat just lies face down while there is a loud groaning sound followed by a bunch of yelling.

"Okay calm down, Yoongi. It isn't that bad. Especially when I get to hear things that boost my ego," Seokjin says with a chuckle. The cat charges at him and starts scratching his legs while Seokjin laughs and whines at him to stop.

I'm leaving as soon as I get turned into a witch again. This is too embarrassing. Yoongi whines.

"Okay yes, back to that. Turning you into a witch again. I don't know if it'll work but I know a way to undo a curse. It depends on how strong the curse is though," Namjoon says and walks away while the others follow him into a room which seems like the witch's practice room. He pulls out a few bottles of potions from the cupboard and walks to his bookshelf to pull out a book.

He brings all the things to the table in the middle of the room and opens the book. He starts reading the instructions on the book while opening the bottles of potion. He takes a chalk from the table and starts drawing a pentagram on the floor. He motions Seokjin to put Yoongi in one of the circles as he lights fire in the middle of the pentagram before pouring the potions in the fire. He closes his eyes and starts saying the spell. Seokjin closes his eyes when the fire starts producing lights that hurt his eyes. It continues for a few more minutes before there is silence in the room and only the cackling of firewood can be heard.

A sudden gasp breaks the silence of the room. Seokjin opens his eyes at the gasp and his eyes fall on the circle where the cat previously was. But now, in the spot sits a person. Skin paler than Seokjin's, hair long and curled at the bottom, dressed in a black robe, staring down at his hands in wonder.

Seokjin's first thought is pretty , the image did not do the witch's beauty any justice. But as soon as that thought comes, another thought overtakes it and all he can feel is relief. Relief that the ritual worked, relief that Yoongi is back, that Yoongi can be himself after trying for the last 200 years with no luck. He smiles as his heart feels as if a huge weight has been lifted off of it.

But then there is a new weight being placed on him, not on his heart this time. But into his arms, charging onto his chest. The weight belongs to the witch who just got his old self back. Seokjin feels wetness soaking through his shirt and realises that Yoongi is crying. He pulls his face away from his chest to look at him and wipe the tears that continue to spill out of his eyes.

Soft skin, his mind supplies. Not the time, he scolds himself.

"Why are you crying?" Seokjin asks the witch who is trying to hide his face into Seokjin's hands.

"I'm so happy. Seokjin, I'm the happiest. I'm me again. I'm back, it feels so good to be me again. Have my body back, have my face back and not be trapped into a cat with no way to talk to anyone or tell anyone how difficult it is to be that way. But I'm free. I'm so so happy, Seokjin. Thank you," Yoongi cries into his hands. Seokjin tries to pry one of his hands from Yoongi's hold so he could rub his hair or his back but the witch is holding it in a death grip so he gives up. He decides he'd let his words do the job of comforting him.

"I'm happy you're happy, Yoongi. Now you don't have to be that. You can be yourself, in your own body. But you silly little witch, why are you thanking me? Namjoon is the one who performed the ritual," Seokjin says and wipes away the remaining tears from under the witch's eyes when the grip on his hands loosen.

"You brought good luck with yourself. I couldn't find anyone who would help me in 200 years but as soon as I met you, I met good luck. I don't believe in fate but I think if fate was a thing, we were chosen by fate. You were chosen by my fate as the one who would bring me back," Yoongi says. He turns around to face the other two witches who had been watching the entire interaction with a small smile on their faces.

"Thank you Namjoon-ssi and Hoseok-ssi, you guys were a great help and this wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for you. Please tell me what I can do for you. Anything you want, I will give it over to you," Yoongi says and gets on his knees to bow to the other witches but is stopped by Namjoon.

"Please don't do that. You're older than me and you're my senior. As for getting me something, I don't want anything. I agreed to help you without even knowing your situation because I wanted to meet Vampire Seokjin. He was my inspiration and having a chance to help him made me feel like I repaid him for helping me and my family out," Namjoon says, pulling Yoongi up and giving him a tight hug, into which the other witch melts with a sigh. Seokjin takes the opportunity and runs his fingers through the witch's soft hair which gets him purring.

"That will take a while to get rid of. I might start meowing randomly because that's the only way I have learned to communicate," Yoongi jokes, pulling away from the hug.

"I will download a cat translator app so we can communicate," Seokjin says in reply. He sees how Yoongi unconsciously starts moving closer to him which makes him smile as the witch finds his presence comforting enough to gravitate towards him.

"Okay cat man and his cat, we get it. Now, can I take my thank you hugs from the kitty witch here?" Hoseok interrupts them and runs to hug the older witch which he returns eagerly.

"For future reference, I was never a kitten. She made me a fully grown cat. So every time someone tried to estimate my age, it was around 12-15 years," Yoongi says when he and Hoseok pull away from the hug.

"Aww, what about Seokjin-hyung's kitten kink then?" Hoseok says with an over-exaggerated pout and Seokjin finds himself yelling at the witch while the other two in the room burst out laughing.

"I'm not surprised he has a kitten kink," Yoongi says with a smirk and Seokjin glares at him.

"I do not have any kinks, leave me alone," He tries to say angrily but it comes out more whiny than he expected.

"Of course, the Victorian man will not discuss his bedroom preferences in the open. He will keep it for his maiden who shows him a glimpse of her ankles," Hoseok says in a mock posh tone which earns him a slap on the back of the head from Seokjin.

"Stop making Victorian era jokes," Seokjin scolds him while he pouts. The playful moment breaks when Yoongi yawns loudly and his eyes start getting droopy.

"Sorry, my body is still functioning in cat time and it's currently my nap time. I seriously need to get rid of some of these habits," Yoongi says, his voice coming out slurred. Seokjin smiles at him and lets him lean his head on his shoulder.

"Then we will take our leave. Thank you so much for doing this Witch Namjoon. Please tell me if you need some kind of payment-"

"Meeting you and getting to do something for you is enough payment for me. Please let me know if I could be of any help in the future. I will always be here," Namjoon says with a bow which Seokjin returns.

"I will surely let you know. And the same goes out for you. If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know," Seokjin says.

"Seokjin please get his contact information so I can talk to him about the art in his home when I'm not sleepy," Yoongi slurs out, making Seokjin chuckle.

"What the witch said," Seokjin says and hands his phone to Namjoon who types something in and hands his phone back. Seokjin locks the phone and leaves after giving one last bow, dragging Yoongi along with him.

Once home, Seokjin takes Yoongi to one of the empty rooms in his mansion and places him on the bed. He wraps the blankets around his body and walks out of the room, leaving the witch to sleep. The habitual naps paired with the exhaustion of the ritual must have tired him out and letting him rest was the best thing Seokjin could do.

He comes back to the living room and sees everything Yoongi had used as a cat, scattered around the place. He smiles in reminiscence as he starts picking up the cat toys to place them in one corner of the room. He decides that he would pack the things later and place them in his store room for when he needs them again.

The thought of Yoongi leaving crosses his mind at that point. He knows one day the witch would want to reunite with his roots and not want to stay with a vampire for the rest of his life. He would need to find another companion for the inevitable time of Yoongi leaving. Somehow, that thought alone hurts him enough to bring tears to his eyes which he ignores. He knows he shouldn't be getting attached to the witch but he couldn't stop himself. Maybe he will just enjoy the time they have together instead of worrying about something he has no control over so when Yoongi leaves, there are no regrets on his part.

He opens up his phone to check if he still has the numbers of the animal shelters he had looked up before meeting Yoongi.

When the witch wakes up from his nap, Seokjin is in the kitchen cooking. Yoongi makes his way to the kitchen after smelling the food and looks over Seokjin's shoulder to see what he is cooking. When Seokjin notices him, he jumps out of his skin as he hadn't heard the witch approach.

"You know, you have a serious case of cat feet? How did I not hear you walk in even with my enhanced hearing?" Seokjin scolds him while Yoongi laughs. He is very amused over the fact that he scared the vampire.

"I was a cat until a few hours ago. Old habits die hard I guess," the witch answers giggling.

"This is going to take a while to get used to," Seokjin says as he stirs the pot and closes the flame once he deems the food to be complete. He pulls out two plates from the cupboard and places one of them in front of Yoongi and starts serving dinner for them.

"This smells nice," Yoongi says, taking a sniff of the food with a satisfied hum.

"I hope it tastes nice too. I haven't cooked for someone in months," Seokjin says, remembering the last time he cooked for someone was when Jungkook was over.

"Anything is better than tuna," Yoongi says and takes a spoonful of rice, stuffing his mouth with it.

"Aren't cats supposed to like tuna?" Seokjin says, taking a seat opposite to the witch and starts eating too.

"I'm not a cat," Yoongi grumbles and continues stuffing his face with the food, humming and moaning in contentment.

"You were until a few hours ago," Seokjin repeats Yoongi's words from earlier and the witch just glares at him.

The two continue talking and bickering throughout the dinner. Seokjin's heart and stomach are full by the time they are done and he hopes Yoongi feels the same. He gets his answer when the witch happily cleans up his plate and compliments his cooking.

"Don't worry, I will cook for you often," Seokjin says as he takes the plates to the sink so they can be washed later.

"Mhh you should. You promised to take care of me for a long time," Yoongi says with a soft smile.

"I think the deal was for until you needed me to. Never said for a long time," Seokjin says teasing.

"I'm going to need you for a long time then," Yoongi says, his smile still on his face. Then suddenly he gets up from his seat, nearly giving Seokjin a whiplash.  "Do you have some clothes that might fit me?" The witch asks.

"Why are you so big?" Yoongi whines when he tries on another pair of pajamas that are falling off of his body.

"You're tiny," Seokjin fires back as he looks into his closet to find something else.

"No, you're just abnormally huge. What's the use of these big shoulders?" Yoongi says and hits on said shoulders with one of his sleeves. Seokjin whines when the hit hurts him while Yoongi scowls at him.

"My shoulders are here to make me look sexy. You should know that," Seokjin says, which prompts Yoongi to rain more hits on his shoulders.

"That was mortifying. You should have told me you could hear my thoughts," Yoongi says, hitting Seokjin one last time before flopping down next to him.

"And miss out on the entertainment your thoughts gave me? No thank you," Seokjin says with a chuckle. He pulls out a pair of shorts and a hoodie that was slightly shorter on him, handing them to Yoongi. "This is our last hope. I will take you shopping first thing in the morning."

Yoongi takes the clothes and walks towards the spare room. He returns after a few moments with clothes that finally don't hang off his body but still look slightly oversized. The witch looks cuddly and cozy in the outfit and Seokjin knows he isn't the only one who thinks that when he sees the witch nuzzling into the neck of the hoodie.

"I'm keeping this even after I get new clothes," Yoongi says as he sits down next to Seokjin.

"You can. They are small on my body," Seokjin says and starts folding and placing the other rejected clothes back in their respective places.

"Your abnormally huge body," Yoongi corrects him and Seokjin stops his work to poke the witch on his side which makes him giggle.

"You're just too tiny. But don't worry, you're still a growing kid. We will feed you and give you your nutritions so you can grow," Seokjin jokes, ruffling his hair which makes him yell out in protest.

"I'm not a kid. I'm 200 years old," Yoongi whines.

"Technically you're 18 since you got cursed at that age," Seokjin points out.

"But I have been alive for 200 years. What age were you turned at?" Yoongi asks.

"At 21," Seokjin says with a shrug.

"Do you go around telling people that you're 21 then?" Yoongi scoffs.

"I tell them I'm 19 because they refuse to believe my real age," Seokjin says, caressing his jaw with a smirk, wiggling his eyebrows for a more dramatic effect which makes Yoongi shriek.

"Well, I'm telling people I'm 200 years old," Yoongi says with a huff.

"Your situation is like Aang from Avatar the last Airbender. You should learn something from him," Seokjin says, suddenly out of nowhere remembering the TV show.

"Who is that? Is that some new kind of supernatural being?" Yoongi asks, confused and Seokjin realises that the witch has missed out on a lot more culture shaping media than he originally expected.

"You have a lot to catch up on," Seokjin says and gets up, pulling Yoongi with him towards the living room so they could get started on Yoongi's cultural education.

They watch a lot of things, including BuzzFeed Unsolved after Hoseok nags him through texts everyday after Seokjin informs him about their last Airbender watch. Yoongi is very intrigued by the two humans who go around investigating supernatural beings.

( "Is that how they treated witches in the west?" Yoongi had asked, horrified when they got to the episode of the Salem Witch Trials.

"The sad part here is that most of these women might not even have been witches but went through this because they suspected they were witches," Seokjin explains.

"I hope you punched some of these people," Yoongi says with a huff.

"I did more than punch," Seokjin says with a laugh.

"They deserved it. Now shh, let me watch," Yoongi says and goes back to concentrating while putting a hand on Seokjin's mouth as if he wasn't the one who interrupted them.)

It was one of those days where they were continuing their marathon and watching the Harry Potter movies when they hear a knock on the door. Seokjin looks at Yoongi in confusion who also stares back at him. Seokjin grunts and gets up from his comfortable spot on the couch to open the door for whoever was on the other side.

"Hyungie!" He hears a voice as soon as the doors open and he has an armful of a fairy.

"Jungkookie? You're back here so soon?" Seokjin asks, pulling away from the hug and looking at the fairy with a fond smile.

"I'm not here to stay. I'm just passing by to go somewhere," Jungkook explains. He seems nervous about something so Seokjin decides to investigate a little.

"Where are you going?" Seokjin asks and watches as the fairy scrambles to answer. "And you can't lie to me." Seokjin adds for emphasis so that the fairy knows that he cannot be deceived.

"I'm going to the underworld," Jungkook answers in a meek tone. Seokjin's eyes harden at the mention of the underworld and starts glaring at the fairy.

"And why are you going to the underworld?" Seokjin asks as the fairy starts sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

"I might have a date?" Jungkook says with a sheepish smile and Seokjin has a very bad feeling about where this is going.

"How did you meet this said date?" Seokjin asks because something in him prompts him to do so.

"Oh funny story, I met him on a dating app. But hyung, before you blow up, I have been talking to this incubus for months now and he is really nice, trust me. I would never put myself in danger like that. I only came by to inform you about the date so you could know where I was if something were to happen to me. But I assure you that nothing will. I can protect myself and my date isn't a harm," Jungkook starts rambling and trying to assure Seokjin that he wouldn't be murdered as soon as he steps into the underworld but Seokjin's experience with that place isn't entirely pleasant.

"But you know how the underworld is Jungkookie. How could I trust my little fairy to go there alone?" Seokjin says with a sigh.

"I'm a grown adult, hyung. I can fight humans easily and can take on a supernatural being. So don't worry too much. I will take care of myself. But having you know my location will make me feel more secure. So hyunie, let me go and I will be sure to keep safe," Jungkook says with one of his cute bunny smiles which has Seokjin's heart melting.

"Come back here before you go to fairyland. If the date goes bad then we can eat ice cream and shit talk about that Incubus," Seokjin says, giving in. He can't keep the fairy locked inside for his whole life and the fairy dropping by and telling him the truth is big enough of a trust step so Seokjin will let him go. "Be back by 8pm or I'm coming to look for you," He doesn't let him off without a warning though.

"I will do-"

"Who is at the door, hyungie ?" They hear a voice from inside making its way out. Seokjin is surprised by the fake sweetness that's dripping from the witch's voice and the way he calls him hyungie since Yoongi never uses honorifics with him. They see the witch walk out and stand in front of them. Jungkook looks him up and down before turning to look at Seokjin in confusion before realization dawns on him.

"Is Hoseokie hyung here too? I haven't seen him in so long," Jungkook says, excited which confuses Seokjin.

"Why would Hoseok be here?" Seokjin asks.

"Why else would you have a witch in your home?" Jungkook questions back and points at the witch.

"That's a very long story," Seokjin says with a grimace.

"I don't have time for that, give me a short summary," Jungkook says, waving his hands dismissively.

"Okay okay. So basically I went to visit Taehyung after you left and met his dog there-"

"Oh Tannie! I met him when I went to visit hyung. Very cute and adorable," Jungkook chimes in.

"Yes, him. And I decided I wanted a pet too. So when I came back to Seoul, I was planning on looking into animal shelters but I saw a cat in the rain and decided to take it to the vet who told me it was stray so I adopted him."

"Oh yes, Taehyungie hyung mentioned that when I texted him. Where is your cat?"

"You would know if you let me speak," Seokjin says and the fairy gives him a sheepish smile, letting him continue. "Turns out, the cat wasn't actually a cat but a witch who was cursed to be a cat. So now I have a witch. Yoongi, meet Jungkook. Jungkook, Yoongi," Seokjin finishes and introduces the two to each other.

"Hi, I'm Jungkook. I'm a fairy. It's very nice to meet you," Jungkook says and bows in greeting, taking the reveal pretty well.

"It's nice to meet you too," Yoongi says but his tone sounds dismissive which makes Seokjin frown and Jungkook look a little off put.

"So that's pretty much it," Seokjin says with a shrug, taking a note of Yoongi's tone to ask him about it later.

"Well, if you get another kitty you should immediately give me a call," Jungkook says with a playful glare.

"I will ask you to join me when I go to an animal shelter, would that be okay?" Seokjin asks and ruffles the fairy's hair while he yells in protest about taking a long time to get it the way it was for the special occasion.

"More than okay. Now, I'll get going. I'll come back here by 8pm, please prepare cotton candy ice cream for me even if the date goes well," Jungkook says while batting his eyelashes which makes Seokjin laugh.

"Brat," Seokjin says fondly. He gets pulled into a hug by the fairy and he hugs him back. The fairy pulls away from the hug and moves to Yoongi, pulling him into a hug too before whispering something into his ear which makes the witch's eyes go wide before he starts smiling shyly.

"Bye hyungie. Bye kitty witch. See you guys soon," Jungkook says and walks away from them before he disappears from their sight.

"What did he say to you?" Seokjin asks the witch who just gives him a smile.

"That's between us," Yoongi says and walks back inside. Seokjin decides to leave it at that and follows the witch inside so they could continue their movie marathon.

They come back to this conversation a few hours later when Yoongi takes on the lunch duty and ends up burning his hand when he gets distracted.

"What were you thinking about?" Seokjin asks as he puts the witch's hand under the running tap.

"I'm probably holding you back from things," Yoongi whispers in such a low voice that Seokjin couldn't even hear him if it wasn't for his enhanced hearing.

"Holding me back? From what?" Seokjin asks, closing the tap and running to the medicine cabinet so he could put some burn ointment on the witch's wound.

"You told Jungkook how you would take him to go pet shopping. I realised that you probably aren't getting a pet because you have me to look after," Yoongi says, hissing when the ointment hurts his burnt skin.

"Why would you think that?" Seokjin asks. He brings up Yoongi's hands to his lips and blows on it so it could lessen the burning a little.

"You haven't brought up wanting another pet with me and you even put away all my cat stuff so I thought you didn't want another pet until you had me," Yoongi says, his lips jutting out into a pout.

"I haven't brought up wanting another pet because I didn't feel the need to have any for the time being. I only had the idea of getting a pet because I was lonely. And now, since I have you around, I don't feel as lonely as I used to so that thought hasn't even crossed my mind," Seokjin answers. He doesn't tell the witch about the time he thought about getting a pet when Yoongi left because he knows that might not be what the witch wants to hear right now.

"Oh. I just don't want to hold you back or be a burden on you," Yoongi says, looking down at his hands.

"Hey, I was the one who promised to take care of you, wasn't I? You aren't a burden on me. I like having you around. It's been fun teaching you about the current pop culture and living with you. So don't burden yourself with these thoughts, okay?" Seokjin says. Yoongi nods in reply and Seokjin decides to use this time to talk about the witch's behavior earlier. He grips the witch's wrist in his hand and pulls him back.

"What was that with Jungkook by the way? Why did you act like that when he introduced himself?" Seokjin asks.

"I just remembered what Hoseok had said. About you and Jungkook looking good together. About him having a crush on you," Yoongi says. Seokjin looks at him not understanding how that answers his question. But he feels the urge to clear up that confusion for some reason.

"Jungkook doesn't have a crush on me. When the Fairy Godmother was trying to set us up, he actually pulled me aside one day to ask me not to give in because he really didn't see me like that and only liked me as a brother. Hoseok only assumed he had a crush on me because Jungkook has a habit of clinging onto me a lot," Seokjin explains to the witch who gives him a smile.

"Yeah, I know now. I want to apologize to him when he comes back from his date," Yoongi says, the smile still on his face.

"Well, how about joining me to grab ice cream for the fairy as a first step then?" Seokjin asks as he walks out of the kitchen and towards the living room.

"Can we get my favorite chips too?" Yoongi asks, following Seokjin out.

"Anything you want, you silly little witch," Seokjin says, earning him a huge smile from the witch.

Seokjin wishes to keep that smile on his face for a long long time. Something in him tells him that the witch might not have had a lot of opportunities to keep that pretty smile of his on his face.

Jungkook does come by at exactly 8pm telling Seokjin about the amazing date he had with the incubus. He tells him in detail about how the incubus had looked into the recipes of the food he had mentioned during their conversations and prepared them for him. He tells him about how the incubus named Jimin took him to the garden in the underworld for a picnic and how fun it was to be there. He also tells Seokjin about how Jimin has promised to come to Seoul so they could try some human food for their next date and how happy Jungkook was about the fact that he was thinking of a next date before their first one was over.

All in all, Seokjin is happy about Jungkook's date being successful and him being this excited about someone. He cares about the fairy as his little brother and it puts him at ease knowing that his brother is happy. But the person who is more excited and happier is Yoongi. As soon as Jungkook had entered the house, Yoongi had pulled him aside and apologized, which the fairy appreciated greatly. Since then, the two had been giggling and talking about Jungkook's date while eating their ice creams. So yes, Seokjin is very happy and content at the moment.

Something about Yoongi getting along with people who mean everything to Seokjin makes Seokjin extremely happy. It feels as if Yoongi is being welcomed into his little family and everyone who is a part of it is willingly accepting him. It gives him hope that one day, Yoongi will also become a part of the people who Seokjin adores and loves.

Something tells him that the day isn't too far away.

The realization that he is living with a witch dawns on Seokjin when he starts opening the door to find deliveries for different kinds of herbs and crystals every few days. Yoongi happily brings the things inside and takes them to his room. When Seokjin asks, Yoongi tells him that he has wanted to return to his work for a long time now but had waited for an opportunity which he had now. So Seokjin allowed him and even indulged him by taking him to Hoseok's house and letting the other witch take him out for shopping. Yoongi returns later that evening with bags full of things that he shows Seokjin excitedly.

Yoongi's, what Seokjin assumes is, his first creation since he turned back into a witch comes a few weeks later. He is stirring something in a pot on the stove while Seokjin watches him incredulously.

"Shouldn't you be doing this on your cauldron?" Seokjin asks, walking into the kitchen and taking a sniff of the pot.

"I don't have the setup ready and I needed to make this today. So the stove was my only option," Yoongi explains as he shuts the stove off.

"What is so important that you needed to do it today?" Seokjin asks. Yoongi pours his potion into a glass bottle before shoving it in Seokjin's face.

"This is potion that will make anyone unable to lie," Yoongi says in an ominous tone.

"So a truth serum," Seokjin says, deadpan.

"Not a truth serum. An anti lying potion," Yoongi corrects.

"Truth serum."

"Anti-lying potion."

"Truth serum."

"Anti-lying potion."

"That's just a fancy way of saying what it truly is,"

"Shut up. I'm the witch, I'm the creator so I get to decide what it is and it isn't a truth serum," Yoongi says with a huff.

"Whatever floats your boat," Seokjin says. "But why are you making a truth serum today?"

"Not truth serum and this is for the incubus so I can learn what his true intentions with my little fairy are," Yoongi says, pulling the potion closer to himself when Seokjin gives him a 'are you kidding me?' look.

Yoongi and Jungkook's friendship had blossomed even more after the fairy came back from his first date. The two often talk for hours and even go out to hang out whenever Seokjin is too busy. They have gotten closer and now Yoongi has started to care for the fairy like his little brother which makes Seokjin feel content despite the two being menaces together.

In this time, Jungkook and Jimin's relationship has also blossomed and Jungkook had expressed that he wanted to ask the incubus to be official and make him his boyfriend. Seokjin had put a foot down and asked to meet him before they took that step. Jungkook agreed huffily with a promise that Seokjin would not interrogate him or scare him off. And today was the day they were visiting.

"So you basically want to pour the truth serum into his food and interrogate him, doing exactly what Jungkook asked us not to do?" Seokjin asks, confirming the witch's intentions.

"You make it sound bad but that's the plan. I only want to keep our fairy safe. I don't have any bad intentions," Yoongi says and pouts, hoping that Seokjin will give in. He knows he can't fight with the witch so he comes up with a plan. He reluctantly agrees and walks away, hiding away from the witch's sight.

When there is a knock on the door, Seokjin yells at the witch to get it and runs to the kitchen. He sees that Yoongi has poured the potion into the plate and has used a spoon to identify the food. So he takes the spoon and places it on another plate and remembers which food he exchanged so that when the time comes, the food will be given to him.

After he successfully does that, he walks outside to where Yoongi is greeting Jungkook and Jimin. When the fairy spots him, he runs up to him and gives him a hug which the vampire returns fondly. He receives a bow from the incubus when they pull away from the hug and he holds him hand out for a handshake. Jimin takes his hand and gives him a firm handshake after which Seokjin ushers them all inside and makes them sit on the dining table before taking Yoongi with him to bring the food out. He picks up the food he had exchanged and lets Yoongi pick the other plates. He places the food in front of everyone and everyone digs in.

A few minutes into the meal, Yoongi starts subtly looking at Jimin as if he is waiting for potion to start working. Meanwhile, Seokjin is swallowing his food and is feeling a little lightheaded because of the potion but he acts like everything is normal to not raise suspicions. It is Yoongi who breaks the slightly awkward silence between them.

"So Jimin, tell me honestly. What are your intentions with our little fairy?" He flat out says, not beating around the bush or even trying to sugarcoat his words. Seokjin watches as Jimin nearly chokes on his food and Jungkook glares at them.

"You promised you wouldn't interrogate him," Jungkook yells out in protest.

"I made no such promise, he did," Yoongi says, pointing at Seokjin.

"That I did," Seokjin says, words tumbling out of his mouth before he can stop them. That is when he realizes that Yoongi's potion not only makes the truth come out but it also makes it come out even when the speaker is not willing to say it out loud.

Oh Seokjin is fucked.

"It's okay, my little fairy. I understand Witch Yoongi's concern. But to honestly answer your question, I have no bad intentions with Jungkook. I have genuine feelings for him and would like to pursue a relationship with him if he is willing. I know we don't have the best reputation but I can spend the rest of my life proving to you that I don't mean to cause any harm to the little fairy and only have his heart in my interests," Jimin answers earnestly. Seokjin coos at his answer while Jungkook stays stunned for a moment before blurting out.

"Be my boyfriend." They hear a gasp coming from the incubus who is staring at Jungkook in shock.

"You can't just spring it on me like that. I was planning on asking you after taking you on a romantic date. I had everything planned," Jimin says and pouts, literally pouts with his bottom lip jutting out, making him look like a baby chick with its beak out.

"We can do it the way you wanted to, but please I need to call you mine immediately. Swear on my Godmother, I love you so much," Jungkook says and gets up from his seat to pull the incubus out of his.

"I love you too, little fairy," Jimin says and pulls him into a hug before pulling away and placing a kiss to his lips. Seokjin chooses that chance to turn to Yoongi who is watching the interaction with a fond smile.

"When are we doing that?" He blurts out since he apparently has no brain to mouth filter thanks to Yoongi's not truth serum. He hears two gasps at the same time while Jimin looks between them in confusion.

"Doing what?" Yoongi asks and swallows thickly, the sound audible even to those without an enhanced hearing.

"Kissing, what else?" Seokjin asks.

"Why would you want to kiss me?" Yoongi asks, his eyes getting wider with each word that comes out of the other's mouth.

"Because I love you," Seokjin says and realizes it at that moment.

He loves Yoongi. He is in love with Yoongi.

That explains everything. From the way he feels comfortable around Yoongi, the way he wants to be with him and the thought of Yoongi leaving scares him. It explains why he cares so much about Yoongi and what everyone else he cares for thinks about Yoongi. It explains why he feels such joy whenever Yoongi is smiling and is happy. It explains why Seokjin easily agreed to let the witch do whatever he wants. It explains why he let the witch stay. And it explains why Seokjin has been happier than ever before.

He is in love.

He is in love with Yoongi.

"Wow, your truth serum really works wonders," Seokjin says with a chuckle.

"How did you get the truth serum?" Yoongi asks, his eyes now comically wide.

"Hey, you admitted that it is a truth serum. I exchanged my food with his when you went to open the door," Seokjin says, pointing at Jimin.

"You were going to give hyung truth serum?" "It's not truth serum" two voices speak at the same time.

"Jungkookie, I'm sorry but I needed to know if he was genuine. I know how much you care for him," Yoongi says, his tone apologetic. He doesn't sound like he regrets what he planned on doing though.

"And I don't mind. You were trying to protect him. But I hope you're assured now, Witch Yoongi," Jimin says with a hopeful smile and Yoongi nods.

"I'm sorry, Incubus Jimin. I will make it up to you and Jungkookie," Yoongi says and gets up to bow to them.

"You better. I'm going to stay mad at you until then," Jungkook says with a glare but Seokjin knows him well enough to know that there is no real heat in his actions and he will probably go back to talking to Yoongi normally by tomorrow.

"It won't be long. But first I need to talk to him without the truth serum," Yoongi says and runs to his room. He emerges a few seconds later with two glass bottles in his hands and places them in front of Seokjin who looks at him in confusion.

"This will take off the potion's effect and this will make you forget everything you said," Yoongi says pointing to the respective bottles as he speaks.

"I'm not drinking the other one," Seokjin says with finality in his voice and picks up the first glass bottle.

"Why not?" Yoongi asks and starts opening the other one after Seokjin drinks from the first one.

"Because your truth serum made me realize that I love you and I don't want to forget it," Seokjin answers and pushes it away when Yoongi tries to sneak it near him.

"Let him be hyung. Or he will take another 200 years to realise that he is in love with you while you get jealous of everyone around him," Jungkook says amused. Both Seokjin and Yoongi yell at him in protest which makes him laugh.

"Remember the day of my first date? The kitty witch was jealous and I told him not to worry about me because I only saw you as my older brother," Jungkook says, clearing up what was on Seokjin's mind since that day.

"You promised not to mention it to him," Yoongi whines.

"A truth for a truth," Jungkook says, shrugging.

"Okay, enough from you. Let's go and let them talk it out amongst themselves," Jimin says and starts pulling the fairy with him who protests but agrees when the incubus promises to buy him ice cream.

When its only the two of them in the house, both refuse to meet each other's eyes. Seokjin feels the effects of the truth serum wearing off and slowly loses whatever confidence it had provided him. He doesn't need to ponder on it for long though as Yoongi starts speaking, still refusing to meet his eyes.

"I realised I was in love with you the day I turned back. I never expected you to feel the same," Yoongi says, fidgeting with his fingers. Seokjin takes his hands into his own and starts rubbing circles on the back of his hands with his thumb.

"I didn't understand what I was feeling until I said it out loud. I haven't felt any sorts of romantic feelings for anyone in so long that it took me time to notice that whatever I was feeling for you was love," Seokjin starts.

"Yoongi, I love you and I want to be with you. I have spent an eternity feeling lonely and being alone but not anymore. Not when I can have you. Not when you can be mine and I can be yours. But the choice is yours. I don't want to force you to be with me just because I helped you turn back," Seokjin finishes and looks down at their intertwined hands.

"You stupid handsome vampire, I only realised I loved you then but I had feelings for you way before that. Why did you think I chose to stay with you instead of running off at the first chance I got after you confessed about your loneliness?" Yoongi says, tightening his grip around Seokjin's hands.

"But you said-"

"I know what I said but I only said that because I didn't have a name for what I was feeling at the time. Only turning back and seeing how happy you looked made me realize that what I was feeling was love. So I want to stay with you. That's my choice. I want to be with you and be yours. Make you mine," Yoongi says and lifts his face to finally meet Seokjin's eyes.

"Can I do it now?" Seokjin asks.

"Do what?" Yoongi asks back, softly.

"Kiss you," Seokjin answers back.

"Do it, you idiot," Yoongi says and Seokjin smiles before pulling his hands from Yoongi's grip and placing him on his cheeks. He uses it as a leverage to pull his closer and press his lips against Yoongi's who smiles against his lips before kissing him back.

Their lips move in perfect harmony as they feel happiness coursing through their bodies at the satisfaction of finally having everything they had longer for. The smiles get wider as the kiss makes their hearts flutter with happiness. They stop kissing at some point to only giggle and smile against the other's lips.

"I love you," Seokjin says and presses a soft peck against the witch's lips before pulling away.

"I love you too," Yoongi answers, touching his lips and smiling widely with his gums out. Seokjin smiles watching his face glow in happiness and gets a mischievous idea.

"Hey remember that one thought you had?" Seokjin asks.

"Which one?" Yoongi asks in confusion.

"About how it would feel if I were to feed from you, do you think we should give it a try?" Seokjin says and suddenly there is a loud shriek followed by the bunch of slaps being rained on Seokjin's chest making him laugh.

"You're horrible," Yoongi says with a pout.

"I was being serious," Seokjin says, as seriously as he can.

"Then what are you waiting for?" Yoongi asks before running away from Seokjin and towards the direction of his bedroom where Seokjin follows him.

And then they live happily ever after.
