Anti-romantic Duo = Romantic Couple

Summary:

Miya Atsumu and Sakusa Kiyoomi hate everything related to love matters. They mock romantic comedies, find Bokuto's attachment to his husband disgusting. Together, they are seen as the "Anti-romantic Duo".
And they don't act as if they were a couple in love themselves. Not at all.

Well, maybe a little.

Notes:

Hello! :)

I started writing a fic with fake dating trope (with SakuAtsu, of course) when I got the idea, with the anti-romantic SakuAtsu. The thought of Sakusa and Atsumu, who mock all love matters, could not stop bothering me. I guess I just read too many romance novels in too little time, I don't know. Anyway, I had to write this fic first to have peace of mind.
This may not be one of my best stories, but I'd like to share it with you anyway.

And sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language. Atsumu's accent is a nightmare for me, mostly I treat it as if it doesn't exist because I don't know what to do.

Anyway, have a nice reading, hope you enjoy it :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When Sakusa Kiyoomi joined MSBY Black Jackals, it was clear to all the players on the team that his relationship with Miya Atsumu would be ... intense. It took just five minutes on the court to bring about the first tensions between the two. There was a lot of bickering (" We'll see if yer fancy diploma will be useful to ya on the court, Omi-Omi ", recalling short (but full of heavy emotions) interactions from high school days (" At least I did not cry before the sparring match, because they made me sit on the bench by failing grades. And don't call me that, Miya ”).

The Jackals doubted that their relationship ever grew warmer. At each training session, there was at least one argument or a malicious exchange of views.

However, everything changed drastically and it was thanks to Bokuto.

One day, after training, when everyone was in the locker room, Bokuto spoke loudly on the phone to his husband.

'' Keiji, I can't wait for our date too! I would like to be with you now and give you a big hug. I love you so much and I miss you! ”

For most of the Jackals, such love confessions from Bokuto caused a smile because they thought it was sweet when someone talks like that to their partner.

And when someone missed the love of his life, even though he had only seen it a few hours earlier.

However, there were two people in the room who completely disagreed.

The word “ Disgusting ” was said at the same time by Sakusa and Miya.

Surprised that for the first time they agreed on something, they looked at each other and analyzed each other intensely.

At that moment, a thread of understanding developed between them.

They found something they had in common.

They both absolutely hated everything about love issues.

Knowing that they were both anti-romantic types, at the next monthly team watching movies together, Atsumu sat down near Sakusa, who was sitting alone in a chair, wanting to keep his own personal space at least a little.

This month, the film was selected by Bokuto and he, as a person who enjoys a happy life in his marriage and is a huge fan of all love stories, decided to go for a foreign romantic comedy.

It’s something that both Atsumu and Kiyoomi despised from all their hearts.

At the very beginning of the film, they couldn’t help but make malicious comments.

'’Of course, there was slow motion when they first looked at each other. Because it always happens in real life. '' Miya said aloud.

'' It's stupid, who falls in love at first sight? ” Sakusa spoke up to everyone’s surprise.

'' Who is falling in love at all? It's a waste of time.” Atsumu continued.

Sakusa looked intently at Miya.

'' I never thought that I would agree with you on anything, Miya. "

The excited blonde stretched out his hand towards Sakusa, and after a moment of hasitating, black-haired male gave him a high five.

'' Hey, that's not fair! Omi-san never gives us a high five after scoring and now he does it because he agrees with Atsumu-san's weird anti-romantic opinions. '' Hinata complained.

'’ You are sweaty during the match, Hinata. Why would I give someone like this a high five? It's disgusting. Almost as much as the love story in that movie. '' Sakusa said.

'' Can you shut up? " Meian shouted. " We want to watch this movie in peace. "

Sakusa and Atsumu held on for another five minutes before voicing their criticism of this type of story again.

'' How can you be so stupid? She saw this guy only once for a split second and now she disregard her duties at work because of him. Really? ''

'' Yeeeesss, I would have fired her right away. ''

'' He's actually not better either. "

'' True, he practically stalks her. ''

'' It was supposed to be romantic… '' Hinata wanted to say.

'’ Since when is stalking people romantic, Hinata? If she knew what this guy was doing, she should call the police right away, it's not normal. '' Sakusa retorted.

It was not even half of the movie when Meian broke and threw Sakusa and Miya from his apartment.

'' I can't believe Meian kicked us out because of a few flashy comments. He didn't do it when Inunaki screamed through practically the entire horror movie a month ago. " Atsumu complained as he and Sakusa walked along the sidewalk towards the blocks where they were renting their apartments.

'' I'm pretty sure he didn't kick him out, because then we were watching a movie in Inunaki's house, Miya. '' Sakusa replied, pressing the bridge of his nose.

'' Maybe, Omi-Omi. '' Atsumu sighed. '’It's a pity we didn't finish this movie. I wanted to see if ya really guessed and the main characters confess their love to each other in the most dramatic way five minutes before the end of the movie. ''

Sakusa didn't answer for a long moment, as if he was wondering about something.

'' We can finish this movie at my place. ''

Atsumu almost collapsed on the sidewalk. Sakusa looked at him disapprovingly.

'' Are ya really going to invite me to yer apartment? '' Atsumu asked in disbelief.

Sakusa sighed.

" We can go to yours, but I don't think that if sanitary conditions in your place will be accepted by me. "

" Hey! "

'' So? '' Sakusa asked right away, before Miya starts to continue with his groans.

Atsumu thought for a moment as if he still couldn't believe it, then grinned widely.

'' Sure, Omi-Omi! ''

When they arrived at the apartment, after a careful inspection as to whether Atsumu was worthy to sit on Sakusa's couch, they decided to split the tasks. Atsumu was going to look for the movie (" I'm sure, it had the word <love> in the title, I tell ya, Omi! " ), And Kiyoomi would make popcorn and bring it with tea.

'' I already have it, Omi! I gave it half of the movie, we probably didn't miss anything important anyway! "

When they were seated, Atsumu played the movie again and set the TV remote on the table.

'' Miya. You forgot to turn on the Japanese subtitles. '' Sakusa said after a minute of awkward silence between the players.

Atsumu, being typical Atsumu, was unable to admit even the slightest mistake, so he automatically lied.

'' I did it on purpose, Omi. I figured we didn't need subtitles because we can make much better dialogues ourselves. "

Sakusa looked at him as if he was a moron. Which Atsumu is, after all.

'' Let's assume that this is not the most obvious lie. I've never heard of a dumber idea. ''

'' Come on, don't ya have any fun in ya? At least try it! I'll be the guy and ya will be the chick. The other characters don't really matter in the love movies anyway, so we can ignore them. "

'' Or we can set subtitles like normal people. ''  Sakusa said, leaning over for the TV remote.

Atsumu was faster and grabbed it first, then tucked it under his butt.

'’ Nope! It's time for a game! ''

Sakusa's face was disgusted first, then resigned. He sighed heavily.

" Okay. But if you fart on my remote I'll kick you out the window. "

“ <Oh babygurl, how do we meet in this abandoned parking by chance? It must be destiny> ” Atsumu said in a changed voice.

Sakusa looked at him as if he couldn't believe that he had let such an idiot into his apartment.

'' Why do you speak with a high voice? You could have chosen a woman if you wanted to play such dubbing for the poor. "

" Shhh Omi-Omi, say yer line, it's yer turn now. "

"<It's shit, not fate, you fucking stalker. Stop following me> '' Sakusa said in an emotionless voice.

Atsumy did not seem pleased.

'' More  commitment, Omi! How can ya act out a love scene so dispassionately? "

'' If you think that I will play a moron like you, you are wrong. You could at least choose the right voice for your character. "

'' Omi! Why are ya always ... '' In the background, romantic music began to play from the TV. Atsumu pulled himself together and resumed his role, ignoring Sakusa.

" <It was love that brought me here, baby. Ya can tell yourself, but deep down ya know that ya are only mine.> '' Atsumu said, continuing to speak in a high voice to irritate Sakusa.

Kiyoomi rolled his eyes but also decided to continue.

'' <This is not love, but an unhealthy obsession. You should go get therapy. And I should call the police. However, I will not do this because you are rich, handsome and it automatically wipes out all guilt. If you were ugly, you would already be behind bars.> "

'' <But I'm not ugly. I’m hot as fuck and this is regarded as the main trait of my personality, next to wealth. And yer a poor, average-looking chick, but ya have ambitions and ya act inaccessible, so of course we will eventually be together> "

'' <What about your beautiful ex-girlfriend who hates me and will destroy me and my whole family out of jealousy? And you will lose your reputation because of me. Is it worth losing so much in the name of love?> '' Sakusa said the last word with extreme disgust.

Atsumu tried not to laugh.

" <We both know it’s not worth it, but we will pretend our love will overcome all odds. In the end, it magically solves all our problems>. "

Atsumu and Sakusa continued their roles throughout the rest of the movie. They became so involved that over time they also took on other roles, such as the main rival (Atsumu) and the rich man's best friend (Sakusa). They didn't even realize when the movie ended and their characters eventually became another of those disgusting loving couples.

'' I had a great time, Omi, "Atsumu said as he was getting ready to go back to his apartment.

" It wasn't too bad, I guess" Sakusa said dispassionately, but in his eyes you could see that he was enjoying this way of spending time as well.

" We should do it again sometime," Atsumu said with a big smile.

Sakusa did not answer this, but the lack of a definite refusal made Atsumu understand that a repetition was very possible.

They repeated it. In a way, it has even become their tradition. Twice a week, they met at Sakusa's or Atsumu's apartment (" We won't watch anything until you clean the apartment properly. Take a cloth and I have a vacuum cleaner", " But Omi !!!", " Without discussion, did your mother teach you how to clean?" ). They didn't even realize when they became the  "anti-romantic duo" as they were called by their teammates.

Ever since Atsumu and Kiyoomi, they always started coming back together from training because the road to their apartments was in the same direction.

" Omi, it's beautiful weather, let's go through the park. " Atsumu said, grabbing Sakusa by the arm. Since their meetings became regular, Atsumu became one of the few people who could touch Sakusa without being attacked with a sanitizer afterwards.

'' Go on your own, there are always a lot of people, '' Sakusa, answered  but however, he didn’t remove his hand from Atsumu's grasp.

" Since when are a few people crowds? " Atsumu asked. When he didn't get a reply, he started again with a slight smile. "Come on, there will be someone with a dog for sure and ya love these animals. " Atsumu squeezed his hand tighter.

"Okay." Sakusa gently said  and allowed himself to be pulled by Atsumu towards the park.

There was no dog. Only a couple of thirty-year-olds sitting on the bench sucking their faces.

"Sorry Omi, I didn't know we were goin' to run into algae eaters. "

Sakusa looked at the man and woman analytically, adjusted the mask on his face with his free hand, then pulled the other hand out of Atsumu's grasp, grabbed his wrist and led him towards the bench that practically adjoined the one where the lovers sat. Atsumu, shocked by Kiyoomi's behavior, became extremely speechless and allowed himself to be led.

They both sat down and Sakusa began to speak aloud:

" Did you know that when you kiss, you can pass on up to 80 million bacteria? "

Atsumu was staring at him with wide eyes.

" What? "

" There are also viruses and even fungi. "

It took Atsumu a moment to understand what Kiyoomi meant.

" It's disgustin', Omi! Ya can probably catch various diseases. " Atsumu said passionately.

" You can't even imagine. There's monucleosis, it's called kissing disease for a reason, and that's a really unpleasant thing. You don't want to catch it. Fever, swollen lymph nodes ... you feel like shit, really. Yellow fever is also terrible. I won't mention ... "

Sakusa didn't manage to finish, because the couple who had stopped kissing abruptly got up and walked away, holding hands.

Atsumu looked at Sakusa in admiration.

" Wow, Omi. It was ... wow. "

Sakusa rolled his eyes.

'' Yes, yes. Now you take me to that cafe nearby and buy me a pumpkin spice latte as compensation for no dogs and one disgusting couple in love. "

Atsumu grinned broadly.

'' I knew ya were just pretending ya didn't like it! '' The setter rose abruptly from the bench. '' Let's go now, Mr. "I only drink black coffee because it is dark like my soul, but I really have a weakness for seasonal flavors."

Sakusa sighed deeply, but without a word he walked with Atsumu.

After their epic win with Schweiden Adlers, both teams decided to go to a nearby pub together to celebrate their win / cheer up after their defeat. Most people would enjoy spending their time like this, but there will always be individuals who cry out to avoid any social interaction, but would have to stay at the pub at the captain's request (which was more like a threat).

Sakusa finished his second drink, mulling over various ways how to discreetly get rid of Bokuto who drank too much, became emotionally drunk and couldn't stop talking through tears of how much he misses his husband, whom he had seen less than a day earlier. Even sober Bokuto was disgustingly open with his love for Akaashi, but now it was beyond human comprehension. Therefore, Sakusa's thoughts recreated all the crime series he had watched through his college years. Maybe will Wakatoshi take Bokuto’s  place in the team if Sakusa rid of the loud player?

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Miya carrying two drinks for them.

" OmiOmiOmiOmi" Atsumu began as he abruptly sat down in the seat next to Sakusa, who automatically moved away from him.

" What do you want, Miya? " He looked at him.

" Look Omi" pointed to Hinata and Kageyama, who were arguing at the bar.

" Our lovebirds, enemies to lovers, got into a sexually tense argument! "

Kiyoomi grimaced. He hated it when Miya gave people relationships dynamics, when he talked about them.

The setter’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

" Do ya want to play? "

A hint of interest appeared on Sakusa's face. He had nothing better to do anyway when Wakatoshi had to interrupt their discussion and answer the phone, which is why Sakusa had previously been condemned to listen to Bokuto against his will.

" Do you want to be Hinata or Kageyama? "

" Kageyama is more like ya, so ya can take him. "

Sakusa's face grimaced again.

" I’m impressed that you can invent better and better insults. "

Atsumu looked surprised, and it took a moment to understand what Sakusa meant.

'' It's all thanks to ya, Omi-Omi! If it weren't fer ya, I would never learn to offend people with honesty without knowing that I offend them. ''

Sakusa snorted.

'' I don't offend people. I'm just telling them the harsh truth they don't want to accept. ''

'' Ya insult me all the time! '' Atsumu shouted, waving his drink in front of Sakusa's face.

'' You can hardly be called a human. You are more like a monkey. ''

" HEY! How dare ya Omi ?! ''

Sakusa calmly sipped his drink and watched Atsumu carefully for two seconds. However, he immediately turned towards Hinata and Kageyama.

" You didn't want to kill time somehow, Miya? Maybe stop complain and get to work.''

Atsumu pulled himself together quickly and turned to his colleagues as well, not suppressing a smile.

" <Are ya embarrassed Bakeyama for losing to me? Ya would probably be better off if you hadn't been staring at my ass for half a match?> ".

" <Boke Hinata Boke> "

'' <Ya probably don't even know why ya were so distracted because yer an oblivious idiot, almost like me and ya don't realize that there is sexual tension between us that irritates everyone on the court.> "

" <Boke Hinata Boke> "

" Omi! " Atsumu groaned. " I'm tryin’ so hard. And ya? Zero creativity! "

" Tell me honestly, Miya, is it any different from the character I'm dubbing? " Sakusa asked, his eyebrow raised.

Before Atsumu could answer him, Kageyama screamed through the pub:

"Boke! Hinata, Boke! ''

Atsumu and Kiyoomi looked at each other before they both burst out laughing.

'' I told you, Miya." Sakusa laughed, rubbing his shoulder against Atsumu's shoulder.

Still looking at each other and laughing sincerely, they both came to some conclusions.

Atsumu thought he really liked the sound of Kiyoomi's laughter and would like to hear it more often.

Kiyoomi thought he hadn't laughed as much as he did with Atsumu in a long time, and he would like to do it more often.

And the rest of Jackals and Alders (those who were sober enough to get to them what was happening, at least) didn't understand what was happening in front of them.

Before the next movie night, Kiyoomi was in the kitchen ("I don't care that this is your apartment, Miya, I take care of the food because you always burn popcorn. "), when Atsumu burst into the room, almost crashing out at the doorstep.

" Omi, look what I have for us! "

Sakusa turned to see Atsumu smiling.

The setter pulled out two shirts, one white and one black.

They differed only in color and size. They both had the inscription "Anti-romantic Duo" on the front and two cartoon characters below them, which could be easily associated with Atsumu and Sakusa. The drawn Atsumu had his fist raised up, and Sakusa had a mask with a crossed heart. Mini-Sakusa had crossed arms on his chest.

"What is this shit?"

Atsumu made a sound between a groan and a snort.

'' Shut yer trap, Omi! These are our new T-shirts and we'll be wearing them from now on for romantic comedies! Yers is obviously black to match yer gloomy aura. ''

He held out one T-shirt towards him.

Sakusa didn't even flinch.

" Do you realize it looks a bit like those cheesy T-shirts that those disgusting couples wear to spit their love in everyone's eyes? "

Atsumu grinned.

'' Of course I know that! This is to show our mocking attitude towards disgustingly in love couples! Now wear it! ''

'' It's a crime against fashion. "

"And ya say it?" He snorted " They should convict ya for those neon clothes ya wore in high school."

'' It was my school uniform, idiot. '' Sakusa drawled "I didn't have much opinion when the school decided to use such colors."

'' Nevermind, wear it! ''

'' No.''

" Yes! "

" No. I will not wear it in my life. "

They both wore these T-shirts.

They lay on opposite sides of the sofa, traditionally dubbing another movie.

"<He will never be yers, bitch! I saw him first and ya can only watch from a distance as we suck each other's faces under the influence of alcohol, because he would never touch me sober>. By the way, this rival has a nasty hair color. As if a whale pissed on her head. "

Kiyoomi raised his eyebrows.

" I don't know if you are the one who has the right to judge anyone's hair color, considering you had exactly the same shade in high school. "

" Hey!" Atsumu kicked Sakuse in the knee. Kiyoomi stifled a groan and grabbed Atsumu's ankle to pull him towards himself. With the other hand, he gripped his wrist. Sakusa leaned toward him, their faces only centimeters apart.

" I'm stronger than you, so you better not start with me." He said in a low voice that sounded quite menacing, but there were sparkles in Sakusa's eyes that indicated rather amusement at the situation.

Is it so hot in here or is it from Omi? Atsumu thought.

Sakusa must have realized this closeness as well, because he let go of Atsumu, moved away from him and returned to his previous position.

The fact that they had both been touching each other's feet throughout the movie didn't matter in the slightest.

" Omi! " Atsumu started after one training session.

'' No, we don't watch movies together today. I want to read a new book in peace and I do not need your loud company for this. ''

'' That's not what I meant, Omi. '' Atsumu replied, dissatisfied with Sakusa's comment. '' But I am very happy that ya appreciate my wonderful company so much. '' He rolled his eyes.

Sakusa looked at him expectantly.

'' I got an invitation to the wedding of my high school teammates and I would like you to come with me ''.

Sakusa waited five seconds before answering.

" No. "

Atsumu took Sakusa's arm, knowing that he was already among the few who could touch him, and started to shake it.

'' Omiii please! I have to go to this wedding because I respect Kita-san too much, but I don't want to show up alone. ''

Sakusa snatched his hand away and asked.

'' I should care about it because…? ''

" Because yer my best friend! "

Sakusa didn’t deny it, but he was shaking his head.

" If I were your best friend, you would know that I hate weddings not only because of the love atmosphere but because of the crowds that I hate even more. And for that reason you would let go. " He replied to him, then, without waiting for any reaction, walked towards the exit.

Of course, Atsumu did not let go and ran after Sakusa.

'’ Omi, have mercy! I can't go there alone or I'm goin' crazy! Yer the only one with whom I will keep my senses in this whole love bullshit. "

'' I still don't understand why this should be my problem. '' Sakusa didn't even look at him, but kept walking.

'' Okay, let it be my reward for another bet! ''

Sakusa stopped. Though in many ways he felt more mature than Atsumu, he couldn't deny the fact that the man had caused him too often a great need for competition, even when it came to bullshit.

'' What bet? '' He turned to Atsumu, trying to keep an expression of disinterest on his face. Setter, however, knew his best friend very well. He smiled diabolically, pulled out his phone and showed him Oikawa Tooru's Twitter.

Sakusa raised his eyebrows.

'' Why are you showing it to me? And why do you look at his profile at all, you hate this guy. "

'' Because ya have to know yer enemy well! '' Atsumu waved the phone in front of him. '' But that's not the point. Look! He wrote that he is no longer with that chick. ''

'' And? It's nothing new. He is constantly changing his partners. '' Sakusa rolled his eyes. ''At least the entire Pro League would stop gossiping about his latest lover because it makes me vomit ''.

'' Well, my dear Omi-Omi '' Atsumu explained with a broad smile, " I bet Oikawa will find a new partner by the end of this week, and one other than Iwazumi. "

Sakusa looked skeptical at first, then snatched the phone from his hand to scroll the latest social media posts by both Oikawa and Iwazumi. When he came to the conclusion that nothing foreshadowed that the two would become a couple anytime soon, he said:

'' On what basis do you say so? ''

" Intuition." He replied confidently.

Sakusa snorted.

" Don't bullshit me, someone told you something." Sakusa handed him back the phone.

Now Atsumu snorted.

'' Who would tell me anything? Ya know very well that no one except ya is able to have a longer conversation with me, because either I get irritated or the other person is fed up with me. ''

Sakusa nodded. In fact, it had to be admitted that Atsumu, apart from Kiyoomi, had no one else close in the volleyball world. Not that Kiyoomi was much better than him. Apart from his cousin and the occasional conversation with Ushijima, he had no other person to spend time with.

'' You're right. I guess I should get a reward for putting up with you so much. ''

'' Omi! '' Atsumu groaned. However, he recovered extremely quickly. " So, do ya take the bet?" If I'm right, ya will come to the wedding with me. And if ya win ... ''

'' ... then you buy tickets to that exhibition of paintings that I told you about.'' Sakusa cut in.

Atsumu nodded vigorously.

'' And we go in the morning, so that there are as few people as possible. '' Sakusa added.

Atsumu groaned again, but there was no real reluctance to do so. All that mattered was that Kiyoomi agreed to his terms.

Sakusa, resigned, straightened his hair in front of Atsumu's bathroom mirror. In the reflection, the faculty, as Miya tries to hang himself with a tie. Kiyoomi sighed loudly

'' Don't tire this tie that much, you will destroy it. ''

Kiyoomi was angry with himself for not appreciating Miya's instincts. After all, this wasn't the first time a setter had predicted someone would become a couple with another person. You could say that he hated love issues so much that he was able to sense the sexual tension between other people from a distance and then avoid them later like Kiyoomi avoids everyone.

Sakusa, on the other hand, found it much easier to guess when a couple had broken up. Unfortunately, this was not what the bet was about.

'' Ya would stop staring at that and ya could help me. " Atsumu grunted.

Kiyoomi walked over to him and began adjusting his tie.

'' How is it possible that you haven't learned to tie, after all you've been to more than one sports gala. And you dare to call yourself an adult male? ''

'' Shut up Omi, I've always worn a bow tie, but it broke off. "

Their faces were only centimeters apart, but the closeness was not uncomfortable for them.

It was downright soothing.

It occurred to both of them that it would be enough to move around to kiss each other.

Both Kiyoomi and Atsumu thought it was a stupid idea ... but it certainly wasn't bad one also.

When Kiyoomi finished tying his tie, he kept his hands on Atsumu's chest for a moment. After a moment, however, he cleared his throat and stepped away from him.

Atsumu began to raise his hand as if to place it where Kiyoomi's hand had previously been. Halfway through, however, he gave it up. He decided to turn around.

" How do I look, Omi? " Atsumu asked, lifting the corner of his mouth.

Sakusa looked at him critically. At that moment he thought that Atsumu looked handsome, even very handsome. He understood why all those Miya’s fans saw in him and why women approached the setter with various offers that Atsumu always brutally rejected. Kiyoomi didn't know why, but found the thought of Atsumu rejecting any woman pleasant.

However, he couldn't admit aloud that Atsumu looked really good.

" I would say you finally look like a human. "

" Oh, come on!" Atsumu groaned, but he couldn't hold back a smile because Kiyoomi's words sounded like the greatest compliment. " Ya can admit that I look great! Somehow I have no problem saying that ya look damn hot in this suit and I don't think I ever saw such a handsome man in front of my eyes. "

It took Atsumu a moment to understand what he had just said. Sakusa was looking at him with wide eyes. The setter felt his cheeks begin to burn, though he didn't know why.

After all, it's normal for friends to compliment each other, right? Even for those who are known to be jerks to all people and probably have never said anything nice to anyone.

" Atsu? " Sakusa asked after a moment.

Atsumu could hear his own heart pounding in his ears. " Yes?"

" Okay. "

" What? "

" You look handsome. Even a lot. " They looked at each other for a moment longer. " Can we go to the car now? "

The exchange of words could introduce some heavy air between them. And for a moment it really was. Until Atsumu released his anti-romantic playlist from his phone (" We're goin' to the wedding, Omi-Omi. Of course, I had to choose songs for our journey that will be the complete opposite of what we will hear later. "). When Atsumu started singing out loud in broken English I Don't Wanna Be in Love by Good Charlotte, they felt together again as they always did. So freely, so good. As they never felt with anyone else.

Atsumu was right, which Sakusa hated with all his heart.

Sitting next to Atsumu and finishing his udon, he couldn't take the line from one song "One more fucking love song, I'll be sick" out of his mind. And it actually felt like that.

He wished he had ever been interested in hacking. I'd love to break into a DJ's computer to turn that sick love ballad into some metalcore or something else. He would even be able to accept kids songs which Atsumu listened ironically. Maybe he should ask Hinata's friend, this YouTuber, to teach him this mystical art of hacking?

Because Sakusa couldn't stand this shit.

'' I can't stand this shit'' Atsumu said aloud. He looked down at half his udon. He didn't speak to any of his former teammates at all throughout the event, which didn't surprise him at all. They were just people who he used to play with and with whom he never got along. Therefore, he did not detach himself from Sakusa, he endured the presence of Osamu and from time to time also Suna, who flew around the room with the camera.

" Impossible. " Sakusa said as he watched several couples in love dance to a slow song.

" I guess I'll spoil their mood a little." He looked at Sakusa's plate. “ I can see that ya like it. Do ya want to finish my portion? '' He asked, shifting his bowl to him.

Sakusa took it right away.

'' Sure. "

" I'll be right back. " Atsumu said, then went to take an empty spot on the dance floor and started dancing macarena to some Ed Sheeran’s ballad.

" What was that?" Osamu asked incredulously. He was sitting next to Atsumu's seat at the table and was almost choking on his dinner.

Sakusa chewed the next piece slowly, never taking his eyes off Atsumu.

'' Your brother went to make a fool of himself. I don't understand why you are surprised. "

Osamu started shaking his head.

'' That's not what I mean. What's between ya two? "

Sakusa frowned.

" I still don't know what you mean. "

" Tsumu? My brother? He gave ya his portion of udon, which he clearly liked?" The disbelief did not leave Osamu's face. "Ya know he ate 2 bowls of soba he hates just out of spite because he didn't want to share with me? He vomited all night long after that. "

Sakusa grimaced.

" Don't tell me about vomiting when I eat."

" Sorry. " Osamu said, but it didn't sound sincere, " Don't ya say anything about that my brother, who never shares with anyone, gave ya his portion? "

Sakusa shrugged.

"And ya eat it? Don't ya have any germophobia or something? "

A grimace appeared on Kiyoomi's face again.

'' I have nothing. I'm just careful. " He took a deep breath. " And I know your brother. He's an idiot, but I trust him. He is safe. "

Osamu looked at Sakusa as if he were an alien. His face was still incredulous, but it was mixed with understanding. He was about to open his mouth to speak again when Atsumu reappeared at the table.

“ It didn't work. These love birds don’t see anything beyond themselves and they didn't even pay attention to me. '' The setter sighed deeply. After a while, however, he got some enlightenment. " Omi, dance with me. "

Sakusa looked at him, nibbling on the last piece of the dish.

" No. "

" Come on, dance with me! "

" I will not dance macarena to slow songs with you. It's stupid. "

'' We will dance normally hand in hand. Please, Omi, we will criticize every couple who are next to us. "

Sakusa thought that there is nothing better to do anyway. The waiters were not due to come with the next dish for an hour. And he would rather avoid spending time with Osamu. If Suna hadn't been asked to take pictures at the wedding, he would have focused more attention on his boyfriend, and then Atsumu's brother wouldn't have needed to talk to Sakusa.

Kiyoomi put the mask back on his face and got up from his chair.

" Okay. "

Together they went to the dance floor, slightly distant from the other pairs. Atsumu put his arms around Kiyoomi's neck and Kiyoomi grabbed the blonde's waist.

" Look at the one in the yellow dress with that average guy. " Miya started. "What do ya think about them? "

"I think they are only together because they still have 15 years to pay off the loan for the apartment." He said right away. “They look like they don't want to be here because they're fed up with each other, but they have to play scene in front of everyone else. I tell you that about a week after this wedding, she will decide that the apartment is not worth it and will file divorce papers. "

Atsumu snorted.

'' They should change the formula when people get married. I like yer version much better. "

Sakusa remembered the wedding ceremony itself. He was glad they were standing to one side, away from the others ("I'll find us the perfect place, Omi, so ya don't have to get frustrated by the crowds"). No one saw them fight their own laughter as they watched people cry. It was absurd for them. How can you even cry at a wedding? After all, no one died (apart from couple’s happiness).

As the words, "Until death do us part," Kiyoomi said at the same time under his breath "Until loan do us part", Atsumu practically turned blue in his face, trying to hold back his laughter.

'' What do you think about these two girls in pink dresses? " This time Sakusa asked.

A look of disgust crossed Atsumu's face as he looked at the couple kissing.

" I guess they'll take two more songs before they go out to the hotel. God, no one needs to know how horny they are. "

Sakusa snorted.

"I can't believe you made me suffer all this."

" Hey, I suffer too," Atsumu said. He got closer to Kiyoomi and put his face against Sakusa’s neck. They was practically hugging each other. They felt as if they had separated themselves from other people they despised in their company. They didn't need anyone else but each other. “ And I'm glad ya agreed to come with me, Omi. Only with ya such events can even be bearable. "

'' I wouldn't call it agreement. ''  Kiyoomi rested his head against Atsumu's head. "You know those girls are gone?"

Atsumu chuckled softly.

" Maybe we'll go around the hotel room sooner, too." He said softly against Kiyoomi's neck.

'' We can go after the next dish. Despite this disgusting love mood, the food is great. "

''Right, Omi? This udon is heaven in my mouth. " Atsumu sighed.

Sakusa's thoughts flashed through what Osamu had said.

'' If you liked it so, why did you give me half? " Kiyoomi asked.

'' Because I saw that ya liked it '' Atsumu replied directly. '' At least ya will get so much good from this wedding. "

Sakusa tried to drown out the strange feeling that was born within him.

'' Thanks. Although it's still a poor compensation for my suffering. "

'' Then how about the fact that next Saturday morning we're goin' to the exhibition yer was talkin' about? " Atsumu said in an almost coquettish voice.

Sakusa moved away from him a little to meet his eyes.

" What? "

'' I bought these tickets even before I asked ya for this wedding ''. Atsumu replied timidly. "I knew ya wanted to go to this exhibition, but I was countin' on ya to come with me to this wedding, so I bought it for a later date and ..."

Sakusa took Atsumu's face in his hands, looking at him with a sincere smile. Though the setter could not see his reflection, he was convinced that he must have been making a very stupid face at that moment.

'’Atsu ... is a really great gift. Thank you. "

Atsumu had the feeling that Kiyoomi had never looked so beautiful. He began to feel a strange tingling sensation under his skin.

When Sakusa took his hands off his cheeks and placed them on Atsumu's waist again, the blonde hugged him tightly and continued to swing in the imitation of dance with him.

''Yer welcome, Omi. '' Atsumu whispered.

Atsumu never liked or understood art. He was able to subjectively tell whether some work was nice or pointless. But something more? No. Therefore, he could not fully understand why Kiyoomi either buys all these picture albums or reads with enthusiasm the biographies of famous painters or sculptors. And although he made fun of him at times, he fully respected his interests. Especially since Kiyoomi obviously liked art.

'' I don't understand, Omi. What is this shit supposed to mean? " Atsumu pointed to the painting, which was full of spots in various shades of purple.

Kiyoomi looked at him critically.

" You don't have to analyze the painting if it is beyond your intellectual capacity."

'' Hey! '' Miya shouted, but stopped short when he saw the warning faces of Sakusa and the bodyguard.

'' In addition, not every picture has to mean anything. Many artists did not think about any of their motivations while creating a piece of art. They just thought it would look good and painted what they wanted without a specific message. If you can't understand art, just admire it or abhor it without much thought. " Kiyoomi said, then walked over to the next picture.

Looking at the paintings really wasn't bad. There was something reassuring about it, but also sometimes disturbing, depending on kind of picture. However, wanting to take a closer look at the individual paintings, sooner or later Atsumu's gaze fled somewhere to the side.

For while looking at the paintings of Atsumu might ultimately find it interesting, watching Kiyoomi looking at the paintings attracted his attention much more.

When he saw Kiyoomi analyze one painting with great interest he decided that he would never fully understand (just as he could never understand how people fall in love with each other) why people are so delighted with images, if they can be delighted with something else.

He is the art, Atsumu thought.

As they left the gallery, Kiyoomi grunted and said.

" Thanks for today. I know you don't like art and you didn't have to come with me. ''

" It wasn't that bad, Omi-Omi. I even liked some of the paintings. We should do it again. " Atsumu said with a slight smile

Despite the mask, Atsumu knew immediately that Kiyoomi was smiling too. Black-haired male nodded slightly, then said:

" Let's go to this café we usually come. This little ginger barista should be here today, so I guess this bald guy will show up again and be inefficiently flirting with her. "

Atsumu's smile widened.

"Sure, Omi! Can't wait for this dude to get rejected again! ''

" Omi !!!" Atsumu shouted, practically jumping on top of Sakusa, who was reading on the couch.

" Ough '' He choked out '' I swear I'll kill you. " Sakusa said however he adjusted Atsumu to make him sit more comfortably.

'' Ya won't do it, because I'm gettin’ ya free onigiri with umeboshi from Samu. ''

" I'm sure if I had killed you, Osamu would have given me a huge basket of onigiri with umeboshi as a thank you."

Atsumu pretended to think for a moment.

'' Maybe yer right, but ya won't kill me anyway. '' He pulled out his phone in front of Sakusa's face. “ Kita-san sent me pictures from the wedding. I told him that I didn't want to see some random people bein’ lovey-dovey in front of the camera and asked him to only send photos of us. "

Sakusa raised his eyebrows.

"Why am I not surprised?"

'' And I said that if there were pictures of Osamu makin’ a fool of himself, I want them too. "

" Of course you did. "

" So, are we watchin’ them together?" Atsumu said, settling even more on Sakusa's lap.

" You show them to me anyway, so you can do it right away. "

Atsumu and Kiyoomi looked at the photos in silence.

'' Atsu, '' After a while, Sakusa said quietly.

'' Yes Omi? '' Atsumu replied even quieter.

" Do you realize that in these photos we look like we're a couple in love? "

There was a silence of several seconds.

'' Maybe? ''

Neither of them spoke. After a while, Atsumu got off Sakusa's lap and sat down with Kiyoomi in front of him.

'' Omi ... '' He began hesitantly. "Are we ... a couple? "

'' No. '' Kiyoomi said more confidently than Atsumu. '' At least I think so. ''

'' Oh. '' That's all Atsumu said. He sounded disappointed, and he felt so, though he didn't know why. He was always disgusted with any kind of love matter.

He could feel his eyes starting to sting, so he quickly rubbed them.

''Fuck, Omi. I don't know what's goin’ on. '' He felt his lip start to tremble. '' We're not like that. We hate such things. YA hate such things. Why are we talkin’ about this? ''

Kiyoomi didn't know what was going on either. At least he didn't know how he couldn't have not known it before. He wasn't stupid after all.

Kiyoomi moved a little closer to Atsumu.

''Atsu. '' Kiyoomi tasted the blonde's name on his lips. When did ''Miya'' become ''Atsu''? When did they get so close?

Atsumu looked at him as if he were waiting for words that would either curse him or save him.

"You know ..." Sakusa began. "We both despise all love matters. We mock lovers, parody romantic comedies. We are the most anti-romantic ... people we know." He didn't dare say "Anti-romantic Duo" as they were called because it was beneath his dignity. Even though they really were  "Anti-romantic Duo". Always the two of them, against romance. "But ..." Kiyoomi saw Atsumu look at him with a hope they both couldn't fully understand. " If I were to share anything romantic with you, then I don't think it would be bad. If it's you, it's okay. " Sakusa finished.

It took Atsumu five seconds for it all to hit him. He grinned broadly before lunging at him and hugging him tightly.

Kiyoomi returned the hug. It still seemed unbelievable to both of them that their shared hatred of the issues of love had forged a unique bond that they could not have with anyone else.

As they pulled away from each other, Kiyoomi put his hand on Atsumu's cheek, who was looking at him with an feeling he could finally name in his head.

"If that's the case, Omi .. do ya want to exchange 80 million bacteria with me?" Atsumu asked.

 Sakusa snorted.

"We've watched so much of this sloppy shit, and you're popping out with something like that?"

"Because ya know well." His gaze softened even more. “And ya understand that. Because ya understand me like no one else. Because only we can be with each other. "

"Give me your 80 million bacteria," Sakusa said, then immediately pulled Atsumu's face gently to kiss him.

Before the movie night, Sakusa tried unsuccessfully to find his T-shirt, but he concluded that Atsumu must have taken it. Ever since they were officially a couple, Atsumu had a tendency to steal Kiyoomi's clothes.

"Omiii" Kiyoomi heard Atsumu's voice when the setter entered Sakusa's apartment with his own set of keys.

Atsumu quickly ran to the bathroom to wash his hands. After a while, he appeared at Kiyoomi's side and kissed him on the cheek.

" Look what I have! " He said, pulling some cloth out of the bag.

Sakusa recognized it immediately.

" Is this my ..."

Atsumu interrupted him.

'' I had them changed! "

Sakusa did not see any change in this shirt. But when he turned her over, he saw that on its back were the cartoon figures of Atsumu and Kiyoomi again, their lips touching in a kiss. Around them were pink hearts and above them was the inscription "Romantic Couple".

It took Kiyoomi a moment to realize Atsumu was wearing his own T-shirt.

'' Looks trashy '' Sakusa said, but he couldn't help but smirk at the corners of his mouth.

'' Yer trashy'' Atsumu replied.

'' Not more than your high school hair ''.

Atsumu Atsumu began to say Omi's name, buthe was stopped when Kiyoomi kissed him. When Sakusa moved away from him, he said.

“Maybe someday we'll go to training in these T-shirts to piss off the guys. What do you think Atsu? "

Atsumu grinned broadly.

"I love yer demonic mind"

" It's so demonic because of you."

" Honey, how's work? You don't even know how I missed you! " Bokuto's loud voice was heard in the locker room.

" Disgusting. " Sakusa and Atsumu said at the same time.

Meian looked at them critically.

The setter was sitting on Sakusa's lap, hugging him tightly.

" You realize you're fucking hypocrites? " The captain asked.

Kiyoomi and Atsumu looked at each other and they both smiled gently.

" Yes. " They said in unison, then Kiyoomi kissed Atsumu's forehead. His boyfriend hugged him even tighter.
