PROLOGUE
DAN & SERENA
It's a new day in Brooklyn and even though they've had four wonderful years together, their epic love story has come to an end. Although Serena promised to be his forever, the temptation to be with another man was too great. Dan on the other hand remained the same, Dan. He forgave Serena but asked for an immediate divorce.
" You say you forgive me, but do you want to break up?"
"Yes, Serena. We tried to look like the perfect couple for four years. But I know you too well. You can't change. I love you, but we're not meant to be together, and you have commitment issues."
- But...
"Sorry, Serena." I have to go. The book launch cannot be done without the author. We will continue this issue later.
Dan went outside and got into his new car, then started for the library on the Upper East Side. He couldn't believe he would end up back there. He had delayed the release of his new book in NY for several months, but fans wanted to read and meet the hero of the book, so Dan had to give in.
"Daniel Humphrey!" Can you give us an interview?
The reporters had grabbed Dan as soon as he arrived at the library. However, a familiar figure beckoned him closer to escape the reporters' interviews.
"Sorry, not today." I'm launching a new book, Dan said and ducked into the figure.
"Blair?"
"Don't be so surprised to see me, Humphrey."
"Actually, I'm really surprised."
- Why?
— Because you came to the library where I launch my book. I thought you were too busy being a businessman's wife.
"I took a break to talk to my favorite author," Blair said and hugged him.
Although things between the two did not end well the last time they saw each other because of Serena, Dan and Blair went back to being friends and kept in touch secretly through his books. As Serena never came to support him, Blair was always there for him, and though neither of them would ever admit it, a passionate flame was kindled between them...even though it couldn't come out. That is until...
"How are things going between you and S?"
- They were okay...until a few weeks ago when I found out her little secret.
"Secret?"
- Yes...A secret man in her life. I asked Serena for a divorce. We can't go on like this. I tried to ignore it and pretend I didn't know, but it was getting kind of hard.
"I'm sorry, Dan."
- Don't be. how are you and chuck
"Oh, same as always."
"Blair, you know you can tell me anything, right?"
"It's not about me now, Dan." Let's go before the reporters come and film us.
