Double D was adorable.
from the way he walked, smiled, ranted on about things that Kevin never knew he would like hearing about; Kevin also liked when Double D matched Ed and Eddy’s energy, being sarcastic in his own way, the smug look on the boy’s face when saying something that neither of the other boys— or Kevin really— understood.
The red head especially found it cute when Edd was flustered, hiding in his beanie as best he could; glowing bright red as he shook, stuttering to let out any words. Kevin loved it.

see, Edd and Kevin made their relationship official only a mere few weeks ago; Kevin wanted to kiss Edd in that day but the boy covered his entire face with the black hat atop his head, shaking so badly that Kevin thought the raven hair boy was having a panic attack.
Since then they’ve held hands, cuddled and the such; but they still haven’t had their first kiss together. And Kevin was getting a bit antsy.
He understood Edd was a bit of germ freak, and was easy to make nervous; those stupid little quirks of his made the red head fall hard for him. But man was it difficult to watch those lips of his ramble on and on and not lean over and just kiss Edd senseless; Kevin had gave in and tried a few times, but it only resulted in Edd jerking back and covering his face again.
Kevin was trying to patient, he really was. But even right now as Double D was explains something in math that Kevin stopped listening to ages ago, he wanted nothing more than to kiss those— slightly chapped— lips. “—ide the three and put it up here, do you understand now, Kevin?” Double D asked, looking up at Kevin who hasn’t looked down at the paper in a while.
The red head looked down at the sheet, numbers and formulas written every which way in what was Edd’s chicken scratch of hand writing.
“Nope.” Kevin said simply, watching Edd Smile drop, a pout appearing for a moment; only making those lips that much more alluring.
“Kevin your attention would be greatly appreciated; these assignments are easy to grasp.” The Double dork said, looking down at the paper, furrowing his brow as he tried to think of a way to explain so Kevin would listen.
“Kinda hard to pay attention—“ Edd looked up as Kevin spoke.”— when I have the cutest dork in school tutoring me.” With that, the former bully now boyfriend leaned in close, his lips just about to graze Edd’s when the raven haired boy jerked his head back, flushing furiously.
“W-Would you be m-more content if anoth—another individual were to p-partake in this study session in lieu of me?” Kevin stared at Edd for a moment, mostly at his lips.
“Why would I want to study with anyone else when I have you? The smartest kid the class *and* my boyfriend?” Double D flushed even more at the B word, he always did; and it made Kevin feel an odd—but good— feeling in his chest.
“You always seems so unobservant when we partake in our study sessions..” Edd admitted, fidgeting his fingers together, not quite meeting Kevin’s eyes.
Kevin gently put his hand over Edd’s, stopping the boy from picking at his fingers anymore; Double D looked up at Kevin, the blush still prompt on his cheeks, but was slowly fading. That wouldn’t last long.
“Well maybe if someone wouldn’t be such a tease and—“ Kevin leaned in close, pulling Edd by his arm to keep him from pulling away.”— let me kiss them, I wouldn’t be so distracted.” Kevin stated plainly.
Edd’s flush went dark again, he adverted his eyes and turn so he could hide his face from Kevin.” Kevin..” Edd bit his lips nervous, his eyes shooting up to Kevin then at the ground.
“You wanna be with me, right-“
“ affirmative!” Kevin eyes widened a bit at how fast Edd shot up, squeezing the red head’s hand.” I-I mean..” Edd closed his eyes, flustered.” This relationship of ours has been very fulfilling; I have been full of delight! I-It’s just..”
“…. Just?” Kevin pried a bit, still holding Double D’s hand.
“Just.. T-The human mouth contains millions of bacteria, it is completely unsanitary-“
“You’re scared, aren’t you?” Edd squeezed his eyes shut, Seems Kevin pin pointed it perfectly; Kevin couldn’t help but smirk.” Is that why you’ve been avoiding our first kiss?” Kevin asked, running his free hand across Edd’s cheek, making the germaphobe look up at him.
“I sincerely apologize Kevin, for not mentioning it before; I.. I did not want you to think less of me.” Kevin smacked his lips, pressing a finger into Edd’s nose, raising a brow as he spoke. “Of course I wouldn't think less you, Dork. I understand. ” Kevin stated, letting his hand drop from Edd’s nose.
“I-I…” Edd felt so warm at those words; he knew Kevin understood but it was nice to be reassured.
“I- I want.. I want to attempt..” Kevin’s face light up a bit.
“Well.. if you’re still scared; why not close you’re eyes?” Kevin said as he moved his hand up and pushed Edd’s beanie over his eyes and pressed his lips against his before the raven hair boy could move away.
It was gentle, slow; the best first kiss Kevin could hope to give Edd. The boy was shaking as he fisted his hands into Kevin’s shirt, trying his best not to shake out of the chair; Kevin slid his free hand on the back of Edd’s head, tilting it as he deepened the kiss, feeling Edd shiver as he shook, letting out a soft sigh.
Kevin gently pulled away, smirking as he pulled the beanie from Edd’s eyes, only to find his boyfriends eyes still squeezed shut; face red and shaking like a leaf.
“… How was that?” Kevin asked, his voice low, and soft. Edd slowly opened his eyes, looking in Kevin’s eyes.
“It-It was.. irreproachable..” Edd hugged Kevin tightly, who happily hugged back; kissing might seem small in most relationships. Perhaps not, but Kevin felt they made a huge step.
Gently tilting Edd’s chin up, Kevin smiled as the boy brought the beanie over his eyes again and braced himself.
