A huge snake like creature towers above a young wizard dawned in a purple robe, yet he stands strong against the threatening monster
"You foolish child! I could swallow you whole!!" The beast threatens in a deep voice. Hissing at the wizard
"Do not underestimate me. For I am Will the Wise! Warrior of peace!" The wizard spoke. "Now! Fireball!!"
The wizard raised his staff as a bright fireball fired towards the snake like beast, who gave a loud hiss as it was defeated.
"And That's the end!" A young boy smiled at his mother, who was busy getting things together for the day.
"End of what?" Joyce spoke confused as she placed a few bits of bacon on a plate.
"My DnD campaign idea" Will Byers smiled at her. "Though i still need to get a party..."
"Will. Im sorry. I'm just so busy but it sounds great! Im sure whoever will play will love it" Joyce smiled, placing the plate of Eggs and bacon in front of Will.
Joyce gave a yelp as she raised her foot up to a small Griffin figurine.
"Oh..That's where that went...Sorry Mom" Will spoke with a small voice.
"It's ok, Sweetie" She spoke. Though her face wore worry as she placed the figure on the table.
She bent down and picked up a few more, placing them in the table.
"What..What were these guys for?" She asked Will, who grew a little flustered.
"Those were for part two of the campaign.." He muttered, playing with his slightly burned bacon.
"Will, I love your creativity. I do! But maybe we could...Tone it down" Joyce spoke full heartedly, sitting down opposite her son and placing a gentle hand on his.
Will's face fell, not looking his mom in the eyes.
Joyce gave a small sigh and decided to try change the subject.
"Hey. What about those boys you were going to ask to come round? What did they say?" Joyce asked him.
"They..Um.." Will muttered. Remembering the three times he had tried and failed to invite others round to play DnD
First. He had simply been too shy to approach. Second. He had spoke to them about DnD and they had just walked off. Third, he had been made fun of. Called a weirdo.
Joyce seemed to notice Will's face fall somehow more. She looked at him with gentle eyes and pulled out a folded pamphlet, handing it too him.
"I know it isn't something to your taste but i thought maybe you might make some friends here" She spoke.
Will looked at the pamphlet. Seeing it was one for a summer camp.
"I thought maybe....You could find something else you might like too" Joyce smiled
"I...Dont see why i can't give it a go.." Will smiled reluctantly.
Joyce gave him a warm smile back. Placing a small kiss on his head as she got up.
After a few weeks, Will stood outside waiting for the bus along side his mom. He tried not to frown, not liking Joyce worry about him so much but he wasn't very eager to get to the camp.
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll have fun! The camp is three months long and if you're having trouble the councilers should let you call me on their phone, ok?" Joyce smiled ar him. Will gave a nod
"Look. Im sure time will fly by with all the fun you'll have. They'll be lots of things to do! Wall climbing, carpentry...That sort of thing.." Joyce smiled at him, rubbing his head.
"But..I dont like that stuff. I like drawing dragons and reading about people going on fantasy adventures" Will spoke.
"I know but don't you think this fantasy stuff is holding you back?" Joyce questioned. "Have you made any friends? Not imagined or drawn?"
Will looked away, pulling his players hand book out of his backpack. He walked over sitting his book by the trash can
Joyce looked away frowning a little.
"Summer camp is a chance to make friends but you you have to try too. Could you promise me?" His mom smiled.
"Yeah" Will forced a smile. "I promise"
Joyce jumped looking at her watch.
"Oh! I need to get to work!" She spoke, giving Will a small kiss on his head. "Your bus will come soon! Let me know when you get there, ok? Have fun! I'll see you soon!"
Will smiled and said his goodbye to his mom as she left with a wave.
Will frowned as his mom disappeared around the corner. He quickly turned to grab his hand book again only to see it had vanished.
"What?! Where is it?" Will said in shock, looking around the bin.
He suddenly heard a small cherp. Looking over at where it came from he saw a small fluffy bat carrying a small bag. Inside, he spotted his Players Handbook
"Little Trash thief!" Will gasped.
Will began chasing the small bat. He glanced back slightly at the bus stop.
He followed the small bat into the woods and to an abandoned cabin. He watched as the small bat pulled the bag through a hole in the door.
Will took a deep breath, grabbing his bag straps. He opened the door and gave a small gasp as the bat went through a portal like doorway.
Will gathered his nerves and ran through.
Will chased the bat, who hopped through a tents exit.
"Please. Stop hoping away..You cute little- Whoa" Will muttered, looking around the tent
Inside, he found himself surrounded by random objects most would see as trash.
"I thought i had odd stuff" Will spoke, picking up a small porcine doll with a hole in its face.
Will placed it down when he heard a male speak up outside the tent.
"Finally. You're back!" The voice spoke. Will snuck over peeking out of the tent. His eyes caught sight of a male with long messy dark brown hair. The small bat by his side.
"Now let's see what we have here!" The male said, rummaging through the bag as he turned the small bat around on the staff it perched on. Will watched as it wrapped its wings up and turned into a wooden statue ontop of the staff.
Will gave a small gasp as he watched.
The male took out a landline phone "Nah"
Then a toy ring.
"Garbage"
Then a wine glass.
"Crap"
Will flinched as it smashed by the males feet.
"But these!" The male turned around showing his pale face and brown eyes. He placed some joked glasses over his eyes and gave a chuckle "These will make me rich"
Will looked over the man. He was tall and slender maybe in his early twenties. Wearing a leather jacket, knee ripped jeans, chains, a shirt with a demon on the front and a denim vest. On his chest sat a silver gem.
He wore a black bandanna over his ears and he had two fangs poking out his mouth
"And this...Will make good Kindling.." Will was snapped out his thoughts as The male pulled his playerhand book out of the bag and helt it to a candle.
Will gave a loud gasp before running out of the tent and grabbing the book off the male.
"So sorry! That's mine! Thank you!" Will yelled quickly as he ran back into the tent and back to the portal. Yet, he was stopped in his tracks as he watched it close up into what looked like a door.
He turned and saw the male with a key matching the door.
"Your not going anywhere" The man said, taking off the joke glasses.
Will gave a yell before running off out of the tent. He froze, stopping at a cliff as he took in the sight around him.
He was inside a town filled with odd fantasy looking creatures. The town seemed to be made of bones. He watched as a dragon like creature flew by, it was grabbed by what looked like a giant hand.
"What's going on?!" Will yelled in surprise.
He jumped a little seeing a small pixie flew to him.
"Oh Hello, pixie. Are you gonna tell me this is all a dream?" Will spoke, unsure.
"Give me your skin!!!" The small pixie's face opened up and yelled at him.
Will yelled before smacking the pixie away.
"Where am i? Did...Did i die?!" Will froze yelling in a panic. "Am...Am i in the bad place?"
He felt a hand touch his shoulder. He turned around and seeing the male again.
"You wish" The male spoke. He guided Will back to the tent, sitting him down on a stool.
"I'm sorry! I just wanted my book back!! If you're gonna eat me..." Will spoke, holding his players handbook in front of his face "..Do it now..."
"Eat you?" The man chuckled "Why would i eat...A potential customer!"
Will lowered his book and looked at the male. "What?" He muttered.
The male helt up a croc shoe. "Can i offer you a human foot full of holes?"
Will watched in confusion.
The male helt up a stick of deodorant. "A bar of human candy?"
He picked up a tv, putting it on the table.
"How about this black shadow box that only reflects sadness?"
Will gave a small chuckle.
"That's not all it can do! Let me see" He smiled.
He took two batteries out of a dish named 'Human candy!' and placed it in the tv and turned it on. A jazzercise video turned on.
"Voilá!" Will smiled as the male looked on in amazement
Others around seemed to grow interested. Surrounding the table.
"Huh?"
"What is that?"
"The sound - So alluring"
One monster looking civilian raised some money.
"I'll give you forty for the screaming box!"
"Ill give you a hundred!"
"Can I eat the tiny person inside?!"
The crowd around them seemed to all begin bidding for the TV.
The male looked at Will with a grin.
"What did you say your name was?" He asked him.
"Oh! I'm Will. Will Byers" Will smiled
The male happily took the money offered.
"Well, Will, that was pretty clever...For a human" He smiled.
"That's a werid thing for another human to say" Will chuckled, looking at the male.
"Oh dear, Child!" The male spoke. "Im not like you"
He took the bandana off, revealing two pointed ears. Will looked at him in surprise.
The male climbed onto the table with a big grin before announcing..
"I'm Eddie the Bat King! The most powerful witch in the Upside down!" The male smiled.
"A witch?" Will gasped.
"I'm respected, Feared-"
The male, Eddie was interrupted as a deep voice yelled "Busted!!" A fist hit the TV, breaking it.
"Run!! It's a gaurd!!" Someone yelled as the crowd ran off. Will ducked behind the table
Eddie jumped down from the table, crossing his arms.
"Eddie The Bat King. You are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors" The gaurd spoke.
Will peaked round, looking at the scene.
"Woah. Witch criminal." He mumbled.
The gaurd grabbed Eddie's arm.
"You are hereby ordered to come to the conformatorium with me" The gaurd spoke
Eddie quickly pulled his arm back with a glare.
"Would you guys quit following me around? I haven't done shit" Eddie spoke up.
The guard seemed to take notice of Will, picking him up by the back of his jacket.
"And you're coming too!" The gaurd spoke.
"Wha- what?" Will spoke in surprise.
"for fraternizing with a criminal!" The gaurd told hin.
"But i didn't do anything!" Will spoke.
"Oh ok! You win! Let me just get my stuff!" Eddie replied.
He reached under his table, picking up the staff with the bat on it. He smacked the gaurd in the face with it, causing him to drop Will and fall to the ground.
Eddie hit the ground with the bottom of his staff causing his stuff to float in the air
Will quickly got up, dusting himself off and placing his handbook in his bag.
"Whoops! Can't forget this!" Eddie chuckled, taking the portal key out of his hair. He pressed the eye and the portal turned into a case, flying out to him.
He closed his hand into a fist, packing his stuff in the table cloth. He placed it on his staff before running by Will.
"Come with me, Human!" He said as he ran by.
Will took off, following behind Eddie.
"This is crazy! If i die here, My mom might kill me" Will mumbled.
"Ha!" Eddie spoke up. "I won't let 'em hurt you! A human like you is much more valuable to me alive than dead"
"Hang on" Will mumbled "What's that-"
Eddie grabbed him and tossed him on the back of his staff. The bat at the top opens it's wings as the staff began flying.
Will closed his eyes, handing on tight to Eddie.
The gaurd ran to the cliff, watching as they flew off.
"You won't get away with this, Bat man!" The gaurd said befire looking down. "Yeah. You did. You did get away with this..He did get away with it...Typical"
Eddie glanced back at Will.
"You can open your eyes now, Human" He smiled.
Will slowly opened his eyes taking in the sight of a huge skelton.
He yelps, gripling tighter onto Eddie.
"Flying staff, Crazy monsters, you're a witch...what..Is this place?" Will questioned.
"This is the Upside down" Eddie replied. "Every human myth you have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours"
A giant snake slithered underneath them, as Will looked down. It matched to his DnD campaign.
Right afterwards, a griffin flew by them.
"A Griffin!" Will smiled
"Yep" Eddie chuckled "Griffins, vampires, Giraffes..."
"Giraffes?" Will questioned.
"Oh yeah!" Eddie smiled "We banished those guys a while ago"
Eddie lands the staff, helping Will off. Will notices Eddie's hand seemed to stay clung onto the staff.
Will looked at it worried before yelling as it moved on its own.
"Oh! Yeah! It does that sometimes" Eddie spoke, picking his hand back up, fitting it back onto his arm.
"Well. This is clearly not the fantasy world I've dreamed of. Ive had enough adventure for today. So, if you could help me get home?" Will questioned.
The staff in front of Will straightened up, causing him to flinch a little.
"Only if you help me first" Eddie smiled, taking his staff and bag. "Now come along human"
Eddie lead Will into an opening in the woods and by a cliff side, sat a house.
They walked up to the door of the house where the face of what looked like a bat sat in the middle.
"Aren't you worried about those Gaurds finding us?" Will questioned, glancing back into the forest.
"Nah" Eddie smiled. "My house has a state of the art defense system"
The little bat face gave a cherp before smiling.
"Password please!" It grinned.
Eddie gave a light tug on one of its ears.
"No time, Batty. Let us in" Eddie spoke.
The bat glared at Eddie. "Ow! Alright! You never wanna have any fun!"
The bat's mouth widened to reveal the inside of the house. Will looked at Eddie, who smirked and took him inside.
"Welcome, human! To..." Eddie spoke dramatically, rasing his arms. He snapped his fingers, causing the lights in the house to brighten "The Bat house!!"
Will looked around in amazement. It looked like they stood in a living room. The fire place had lit when the lights turned on. A broom was sweeping on its own and a cauldron bubbled in ths corner.
"Where i hide away from the pressures of modern life...And the cops" Eddie chuckled. "Also Exs"
"This place...Its beautiful" Will smiled at Eddie. "Do you live here alone?"
The house gave a rumble like the a giant walked by.
"Actually...I have a roommate" Eddie smiled
A deep voice spoke from the hall across from them.
"Who dares intrude upon i..." It spoke. Suddenly, a small creature with curly fur and a skull for a face rounded the corner. He wore a shirt that was open with a red collar around his neck. The deep voice vanished as he squeaked a rubber ducky "...The king of demons!"
Will gave a gasped and ran forward, going onto his knees infront of the creature.
"Wow! You're so cool!! Who are you?! You're so small! And kinda cute!" Will smiled.
"No! Im not small!! Eddie! Who is this monster!?" He yelled back at Will, looking at Eddie.
Eddie placed a hand on Will's head, ruffling his hair.
"Dustin. This is Will, the human" Eddie smiled. "He's here to help us with our...Situation"
"Oh. Yay!!" The small creature, Dustin, smiled with his arms in the air.
"Wait! Wait! I dont like the sound of this...Situation" Will replied, looking up at Eddie.
"Let me Explain" Eddie spoke, Will and Dustin sat at the table infront of the couch as Eddie sat on the couch. He created a magic circle on the table, a picture floated above it, showing a beast that looked like Dustin.
"Dustin was once a powerful king of demons. That was until his crown of power was stolen and he became..." Eddie spoke. The image faded as Eddie pointed to Dustin. "...This"
"You mean this guy was a tyrant?" Will questioned with a small smile.
Eddie nodded. "The crown is being held by the evil warden wrath and is locked away behind a force field only a human can break through"
The way Eddie spoke reminded Will of the way an amazing DM would.
"A human like you!" Eddie smiled at Will. "If you help us with this! I'll help you get back to your world. Whaddya, say? Plus, how could say no to that face?" Eddie smirked, gesturing to Dustin.
"Nyeh?! No! Don't encourage him!!" Dustin yelled
"I mean...We're kinda your only way home" Eddie spoke, looking at Will.
Will looked away, giving an awkward smile.
"So, i dont have a choice do i?" Will muttered.
"Nope!" Eddie smirked, he picked Will up, flinging him over his shoulder. "Now, We have no time to lose!"
Will gave a yelp as he was picked up. Eddie walked away, going out of the house.
Dustin picked his duck back up, glaring a little. "Soon, Mr Ducky! We shall drink the fear of those who mocked us!" He spoke, following Eddie.
Soon, the three of them flew again on Eddie's staff.
"Where are we going?" Will questioned.
"Somewhere fun!!" Eddie smiled as they flew towards a large building, thunder clapped above, causing Will to jump.
They landed, hidden by a wall.
"The conformatorium! A place for those considered unsuitable for society" Eddie spoke with a glare, Will took notice of the spite in his voice.
Will looked at the wall seeing a wanted poster, clearly with Eddie and Dustin on it.
"Whoa. These guys are really out for you" Will spoke, Dustin climbed up onto his head.
"Yup! But we're never caught! Cause we're too slippery" Eddie smiled, looking at Will.
"Try to catch me when im covered in grease! Ima squirmy little fella!" Dustin chuckled before sliding off of Wills head with a yelp. "You and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, we're they're holding my crown"
Dustin turned to Will, who nodded.
"And I'm going to make sure the warden is distracted" Eddie smiled.
"Wait! Will i need a disguise?" Will asked
"Um.." Eddie thought.
Will rummaged through his back and pulled out a baseball cap with two little horns.
"Ta da!" Will smiled.
"It's hideous!" Dustin chuckled.
"Oh! You're gonna fit right in!" Eddie grinned bright.
Eddie tapped his staff against the ground causing a small platform under Will and Dustin's feet.
"Hang on tight!" Eddie spoke.
"Whoa!" Will grinned.
The platform rose to a window at the tower. Eddie jumped on his staff, which flew by Will and Dustin.
"Ill meet you at the top of the tower!" Eddie grinned as he flew by.
Will and Dustin quickly jumped into the window as the platform vanished. Will tripping a little, falling over.
"Ha!" Dustin laughed "Demon's don't do that!"
Will stood back up, dusting himself off. He gasped looking far up the tower, seeing a prison full of different creatures.
"Hey! Boy with the horns!" Will turned looking at one of the cells to see a lady. "How did you get out of your cell?"
"Oh! I dont have horns" Will spoke, taking off his hat. "Also. Im not a criminal"
"Not yet your not!" Dustin said from behind him.
"Neither are we! The stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't fit in!!" The lady in the cell spoke. "Like I like to make little figures of characters a create"
She helt up a small figure of a warrior
"I like to eat my own eyeballs!" A monster with multiple eyes spoke. He took one of his eyes and ate it, Will watched as it floated back into its space on his head.
"We are agents of free expression! They will never silence us!!" A small monster in another cell yelled.
"Yeah. She's really into conspiracy theories" The lady spoke.
"The world is a simulation! We are nothing but playthings for a higher being!!" The small monster yelled.
"These aren't crimes.." Will spoke, looking around. "None of you did anything wrong..."
Will pulled out a copy of Eddie's wanted poster.
"You're all just a bunch of weirdos...Like me" Will mumbled.
The group jumped at approaching footsteps.
"It's warden wrath! Hide!!" The lady spoke. Will looked around, running into an open cell and lightly closing it, dropping Eddie's wanted poster.
A largely built male walked in. His face dawned with a plague doctor mask.
"I can hear you!" He spoke in a deep voice.
Will quickly hid in the corner with Dustin as Warden warth walked to the Lady's cell.
"Just what are you fools whispering about?" He growled, stepping onto the wanted poster. He picked it up. "Ah! The Bat King"
Will watched as the Warden looked at the cell his was in, luckily not catching him or Dustin huddled in the corner.
"I'll get my hands on him soon enough" Wrath spoke.
"Fight the oppressor!!" The small monster yelled, getting Wrath's attention. "We will resist!! We will conquer!! We will never be afraid of you!! You creep!"
Wrath walked over to the monster's cell, opening the door, much to the shock of the little monster.
"Hooray! Im free!" She smiled. The warden grabbed her with a single hand, causing her to squeak in fear.
He helt her towards the other prisoners.
"Let this be a lesson to you. All of you. There is no place in society if you can't fit in" He announced before stormed out with the small monster in his hands.
Once the door slams, Will stood up and opened the cell he hid in, he walked to lady's cell.
"Don't worry. I can get you out" Will spoke, he tried to pull the lever by the cell. Yet, it didn't shift. "Damn my weak nerd arms!"
"Just get out of here, kid. Enjoy freedom for us" The lady spoke.
Will frowned as he watched the Lady walk to the back of her cell. Will reluctantly, walked away with a frown on his face.
As Will and Dustin walked along the hall, Eddie caught up with them on his staff, he jumped off to walk beside them
"Hey! I just checked, The warden is distracted. He's tormenting some tiny creature. He won't be coming here anytime soon!" Eddie smirked.
Eddie took notice of Will's frown in confusion.
"Hey, you ok?" He asked, Will nodded and continued to walk.
They came across a door with a sign that said "Contraband". Dustin gave a gasp and ran to it.
"My crown! Its close! I can sense its power!!" Dustin yelled, trying to reach the door handle.
Eddie gave a laugh and watched Dustin.
"He gets so cute when he gets hungry for power!" Eddie chuckled.
"It's not fair that they're in here. They just wanna be themselves. Why does everyone think being a bit werid is so bad?" Will muttered under his voice.
Eddie looked at him with a frown before they both heard a clatter. Dustin laughed loudly as he ran into the room.
"Come on. Lets go before he hurts himself" Eddie spoke, walking into the room.
As Will begain to follow a zap was heard followed by a quick "Ow!" From Dustin.
Inside a room, was a large piller of light. Dustin seemed to run against it, getting zapped and pushed away with another "ow!".
Eddie grabbed his shirt, lifting him up before he could charge again.
"Uh..We have a human, remember?" Eddie chuckled.
"Oh yeah" Dustin said, remembering.
Eddie and Dustin smiled at Will, who looked at the pillar and took a deep breath. He touched the pillar, feeling the shine over his hand.
He then took a step in seeing a pile of more human trash. From books to tins to toys.
He squinted, seeing the crown on the top of the tower of trash.
"Hang on...Is that..?"
Will stood in confusion as he handed over a paper crown to Dustin.
"My crown!!" Dustin chuckled, grabbing it and putting it on. "My power. I can feel it!"
Will walked next to Eddie, who smiled as he watched Dustin.
"You there! Nightmare critter!" Dustin ordered, picking up a stuffed toy of what looked like a salamander with no eyes. "I shall call you Dart and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness!"
Will looked over at Eddie. "That crown doesn't give him any power, does it?"
"Uh..No" Eddie answered, Will gave him a glare causing him to sigh in return. "Look at us, Will. Dustin and I dont have much in this world. We only really have each other. If that dumb crown is important to him, then it's important to me. And besides, us weirdos have to stick together you know?"
Will gave a warm smile. A small blush dusted his cheeks as he looked away
"Well, now we owe you. Lets get out of here before the warden finds out and loses his head!" Eddie smirked.
"Too late!" A deep voice interrupted a blade sliced through Eddie's neck, decapitating him causing Will to catch it and scream.
"Ow!! I hate when that happens!!" Eddie's head yelled, causing Will to scream more.
"E..Eddie. Are you ok?!" Will asked, worry and fear clear in his voice.
"Yeah. This happens when you get older" Eddie responded, rolling his eyes.
"D..Does it?!" Will yelled.
"Finally." Warden Warth spoke up, his blade hand morphing back into a hand. "I have you cornered. Eddie the Bat King"
He then took the paper crown from Dustin causing a "Hey!" to come from him.
"My guards could never get you but i knew if i took your little friends toy, you'd come running" Wrath spoke, crushing the paper crown.
"No! My power!" Dustin cried as the squashed crown fell to his feet.
"What do you even want from me?! I never broke any of your stupid laws...." Eddie yelled. "In front of you.."
"I want you..." Wrath spoke, walking over before pulling out a bouquet of roses. "To go out with me!"
"What?"
"What?"
"Go boss!!" One gaurd cheered from behind as the warden gave a thumbs up.
"You've always eluded capture. You've always been the one who got away. I found that alluring" Wrath spoke.
"I really dont like anything you're saying right now" Will muttered.
"You stay out of this!!" Wrath yelled back at him. Dropping the Bouquet and grabbing Will, who Dropped Eddie and was lifted of the ground.
Will gave a yelp as he was picked up. Eddie looked in shock, unable to do anything as his body was on the other side of the room.
"So, how about it Bat King?" Warden Warth spoke, picking Eddie up by his hair. "The most powerful witch in the Upside down and the feared Warden Wrath! We'd be the strongest couple ever! I mean...It's not like you can say no right now"
Eddie looked up at Will, who struggled in Wrath's grasp then at Dustin, who was being grabbed by one of the other gaurds.
He gave a sigh, looking at warden wrath. "Ok, Warden. You win.." He spoke.
"I just would like to say something first. Come closer" Eddie spoke, Wrath holding his head closer. "Yeah..Thats good.."
Eddie then blew a raspberry in Wrath's face, Causing him to drop both Will and Eddie with a "Agh!"
Will gave a yelp as he was dropped as Eddie laughed loudly.
"Impudent Wench!" Wrath yelled "Don't you know how many germs are in your mouth?!"
"Get over it!!" Eddie yelled. "Your guards stalked me and then you chopped my head off! I'm not going out with you!!"
"Oh! But if you don't, I'll have no choice but to des-" Wrath was cut off by Will hitting him in the head with Eddie's staff, surprisingly hard enough to knock him over.
Eddie gave a laugh. "Nice!!" He chuckled. Yet he frowned when two guards stepped by his head.
His headless body walked to them, pulling their hoods over their eyes.
"Ok! Lets go!!" Will yelled, grabbing Eddie's head and running as Eddie's body grabbed Dustin and ran over to them.
As Eddie fitted his head back onto his body, Will tried to make the staff fly. The bat unfurling it's wings and cherping.
"Expecto... flying? Magicus... escapicus!" Will tried to order to make it go.
Dustin jumped behind Will and Eddie in front
"Gun it, Magic stick!!" Eddie yelled. The staff obeyed, taking off
Wrath then got up and yelled. "I won't let you get away again, Bat king!!"
His arm changed into tenticles, chasing after them on the staff.
The trio flew into the tower, still being chased by Wrath. Will gave a gasp as he saw the people in the cells again
"Eddie! Give me a hand!" Will spoke, they both leaned over pushing as many levers as they could as they flew past, many of the cells opened, allowing the prisoners to escape.
As the Trio left the tower Warden Wrath gave a loud battle cry, jumping from the window and grabbing the staff, bringing Eddie, Dustin and Will down.
They all fell to the ground. Dustin gave a cry of "Ow! My bones!!"
"Will.." Eddie called over to the boy, who looked over at him. Eddie pulled the door key out of his hair and tossed it over to Will, who caught it. "Go back to the human world"
Eddie then got up and charged at Wrath, casting a spell at him.
"What about you guys?" Will questioned.
Dustin ran up by him. "If you think this is bad, you should of seen his last boyfriend"
"He's not my boyfriend!" Eddie yelled from the fight as Dustin narrowly avoided a slice from Wrath's blade arm. "Now Go! Go!"
"But-" Will was cut off by Eddie hitting the staff. It took off the ground as Will helt onto it tight
Wrath took off his mask, revealing a mouth with tusks that took up most of his face with a roar. He fired a fireball towards Eddie, who redirected it with two portals he quickly drew in the air.
The fireball found Wrath, sending him into the wall behind him. Will found himself struggling to keep balance on the staff above.
Wrath charged at Eddie, Blade hands drawn as the three prisoners from before peeked from the hole the warden had created.
Will took notice of them. He flew down to them and landed by them.
"Why are you all just standing there? This is your chance to escape!" Will questioned
"Warden Wrath will catch us" The monster with multiple eyes spoke up " He always does.."
"We belong here.." The lady spoke.
"Self-doubt is a prison you can never escape from" The small nose monster muttered
They all looked down sadly as Will frowned. He looked around in thought before giving a warm smile.
"So...you have a different way of doing things. That might make you werid but that shouldn't matter, right?" Will smiled
The prisoners gave each other a look before the lady spoke
"Why are you helping us?" She asked
"Because.." Will smiled "Us weirdos have to stick together"
He stood up straight, holding Eddie's staff with pride.
"And no one should be punished for who they are!" Will smiled.
The prisoners all smile at him and one another. Will looked to his left taking notice of a box with brightly coloured rockets inside.
"I have a plan. Let's get 'em" Will smirked, the group huddled up.
Eddie was thrown to the ground with a yell as Dustin was tossed into his arms.
"No more running away, Bat king. Today i capture you, once and for all" Wrath spoke slowly approaching as Eddie glared at him.
Dustin hid his face in Eddie's chest with a small whine of fear.
Behind them they heard a voice yell.
"Go! Go! Go!" It yelled.
A small hord of Prisoners run and tackled Wrath as Will flew by them. Eddie took notice of the boy flying by.
"Will?" Eddie questioned.
The Eye monster shoved Wrath onto the floor as he yelled a "I like to eat my own eyes!"
The nose monster tripped him up. "I think the world is a triangle!" She yelled.
The lady pinned Wrath down as she yelled "And I practice the art of miniature painting!"
The three prisoners manage to pin Wrath down and tie his arms around causing him to growl in frustration.
The flip him around to face Will, who landed off of the staff.
"You! Who do you think you are!" Wrath yelled at Will.
"Do not underestimate me, Warden Wrath. For I am, Will The human. Warrior of peace!" Will announced like a brave warrior. "Not eat this sucker!"
He smirked, tossing the rockets he had found into the air before hitting it with Eddie's staff. The firecracker landed in Warden Wrath's mouth.
The rocket then exploded, lanching Wrath into the air as the prisoners cheered.
"We are victorious" The nose monster celebrated
Eddie walked up to Will with Dustin perched on his shoulder.
"That was actually one of his better break ups" Dustin chuckled.
"Not a break up" Eddie glared before giving a smirk and looking at Will "Now, let's bounce before any more monsters fall in love with me"
Eddie helps Will onto the staff before the three flew back to the Bat house. Inside the living room, Eddie smiled
"Well. A deals a deal. Let's get you home" He smiled before clicking his fingers. The key flew out of Will's bag and into Eddie's hand
Eddie pressed the eye symbol at the top causing the portal to appear by the fire place.
Will looked at it before walking up to it. He hugged himself before noticing Dustin's sad face.
"Before i go.." Will spoke, fishing around his bag. "I know it isn't the same but you are a king. So you shouldn't be without a crown"
Will took out the hat he had worn before and handed it to Dustin, who put it on. His own horns bursting through where the fake ones sat.
"This will suffice" Dustin chuckled before marching over to a plant "You there! Plant! You are now under my command"
"Oh! Don't forget this" Eddie smiled, handing Will his Player's handbook "I had a little flip. Looks interesting"
Will chuckled and took it before giving Eddie a warm smile.
He turned back to the portal with a frown as he looked at the pamphlet for camp. He watched as a slip of paper fell out his Handbook. He quickly picked it up and looked at the sketch he had drawn.
On it was his character, who had become a wizard. A bard that looked suspiciously a lot like Eddie and a creature that looked a lot like King.
Will looked at the mirror to watch Eddie and Dustin again.
The were both smiling at each other like the characters in his sketch
Will gave a small gasp before turning to look at Eddie.
"Look, I know you got your head cut off and we kinda started a prison riot but I had a lot of fun today. Maybe the most fun I've ever had" Will spoke.
Eddie looks at him a little confused.
"I don't fit in at home and You don't fit in here. If I stay, we could not fit in together" Will spoke, he looked at the pamphlet in his hands "I'm not going to summer camp"
Eddie gave an awkward chuckle of confusion. "What's summer camp? What are we talking about here?"
"I want to stay here and become a witch! Like you!" Will smiled, showing a sketch of his DnD character.
"What? That's crazy!" Eddie spoke with a laugh. "Human's can't become witches"
"Maybe because they haven't tried!" Will smiled. "If you teach me, I'll do anything you want"
Dustin ran over to Eddie, holding the bottom of his jeans.
"Let him stay!" Dustin spoke before whispering "He can make us snacks!"
Eddie chuckled picking up Dustin
"Well, I could use a hand keeping this goofball out of the cupboards" Eddie smiled. "All right. I'll teach you how to be a witch but you have to work for me before you do any spells, deal?"
Eddie holds out his hand for a shake. Will pulls them in for a hug. Squeezing them tight.
"What's going on?" Eddie asked confused
"Too tight!!" Dustin yelled.
Will found himself opening the door to his room for the rest of the summer. He gave a smile before unwrapping his sleeping bag.
He flops down onto it, already dressed for bed
He takes a picture out of his bag and places it by his sleeping bag. It's of him and his mom, Joyce.
His phone vibrates, causing him to look at it in surpise. He picked it up and saw a text with the name Mom.
'How's summer camp?' It reads.
Will frowns a little and looks at the celling.
He heard someone clearing their throat and looked at the door, spotting Dustin.
"Your sleep cacoon looks fluffy" He speaks. Clutching the little stuffed Slamander from before.
Will smiled and patted the sleeping back. Inviting Dustin over
He walked over and curled up by Will's feet. Will smiles and looks at his phone, texting his mom back.
'I think im going to like it here' He quickly texts back.
He looks out the window to the night-time outside. Not knowing of the full adventure about to hit him
