It had been three years since Evie died in the car crash, Michaela had been doing a little bit better now and was starting to do well again after it all even though her grief and feeling guilty for taking a life still hurt her beyond words.
Michaela and Jared weren’t trying for a baby, they had always wanted to be parents together for the longest time. They wanted a family together. Michaela had just taken a pregnancy test and found out that she was pregnant, she couldn’t stop crying, she was so happy. Even though Jared and Michaela were only dating at the time, she was so happy to know that the baby was going to be his, that she was going to be a mom, and that they were going to finally have the family they wanted together.
Michaela was going to tell Jared that she was pregnant when he got home from work. As unexpected as the pregnancy was she had a feeling that he was going to be happy. She decided to set up the house to look nice and texted him asking him when he’d be home. She put the pregnancy test in a box and wrapped it up and put it on the table. She was so excited to tell him. They were going to have a baby, she could feel it in her heart just becoming pregnant, and seeing herself now as a mom that she was going to have a baby girl.
Jared had called Michaela telling her he was about to be home, she was so excited to tell him about the baby. “I can’t wait to see you handsome, I have something really important I need to tell you when you get home.” Michaela said, hoping that he’ll take the news well.
Before Jared got home, Michaela had a moment with herself in the mirror where she put her hand on her belly. She already saw her future right in front of her, and she was so excited for it. She already knew it was Jared’s baby and that she was 6 weeks along. She was so beyond happy.
Jared eventually got home, Michaela was ready to tell him. “What did you want to tell me, babe?” Jared asked. Michaela immediately gave him the box with the pregnancy test; and he opened it. “I’m pregnant” she said excitedly, almost crying. She was so happy to be pregnant, and to be having a baby with Jared, who has been the love of her life for over a decade. “We’re having a baby?” Jared said excitedly. “We’re having a baby!” Michaela said happily. “And I think it’s gonna be a girl.” Michaela said with tears in her eyes. They soon kissed in a warm embrace, they were so beyond happy for this baby. “We’re having a baby.” They both said together, smiling.
