Chapter 1: (Old) Prologue (Part 1): The Morning Starts...

Chapter Text

It was morning, sunlight was shining through the curtain, and it was silent. It has never been quiet at her home. Sammy rose out of her bed, rubbing her eyes with her hand.

It was always rough for her to wake up, sightings of her neighbors always fighting didn’t allow her to sleep in peace. But this time, it was quiet, this surprised her.

They must have gotten them. Hopefully I don’t get caught up with this mess.

She switched to her casual clothes, plain white shirt with black on the collar and sleeves, navy jeans, red flannel, and black high top shoes. As she walked to the kitchen, she expected her mother to be waiting for her, but she wasn’t there. Instead there was a note.

Sammy can you quickly go to your classes
I don’t want you to be stacking off like last time.
Also I don’t want that friend of yours
to be around my house.

Classy.

She crushed the letter in her hands and tossed it on the table. By searching the cabinets, there was only one box of oatmeal left.

Well it’s better than not eating. I better eat this quickly or she's gonna smack my ass.

She grabbed her backpack and rushed out the door and ran towards Willow Trees High. Who figured they named the school over the amount of willow trees scattered around the town.

“HEY!”

“Uh?”

As that followed, someone crashed into her. It was her best friend, Kris, the idiot to her understanding and the one who was tried from life itself as the school gave both of them a mountain of assignments to do in the middle of night.

“Well look who it is,” Sam remarked

“Sorry, I just thought you died or something,” Kris shrugged

Sammy then “carefully” punched him on the shoulders.

“Ouch, what was that for?” he yelped

“For being an moron, but a good moron” Sam replied back

“Awww, so you do have a heart.” Kris claimed putting his hand next to his heart, eyes widening

“Alright, aright, let's go, shall we?” Sammy answered with a light blush on her face

Both of them rushed to the doors of their school. The doors engraved willow trees because why not. It was 7:48 so they were pretty early and they decided to go to their school “garden”. It wasn’t really a garden but instead, hidden away from students and staff and was horrifyingly disgusting.

“Pspspspsp” spoke Kris as he guested his hand from under the table

“You really doing this, right now?” Sammy answered

“Oh wait, I remembered your part cat, right” he replied with a joking manner

“Oh shut up” answered Sammy as she smacked his head

As they spoke, red eyes appeared under the table and came a wolf-like creature. They were called Dread Wolves, as pups they are fairly small but up to adulthood they are the size of bears or even larger than that. Also very highly illegal to own one.

“Hello little guy” Kris begins

“Well aren’t you a little hungry buddy” Sam speaks while she starts petting the creature and starts to reach into her pocket, giving it a dog treat

“If someone kills this fella, I will kill them and then myself” Kris replies

Sammy looks at him worriedly, and then eyes narrowing.

“You okay man?”

“Hahah, jk jk” Kris averted, ruffing his hair and blushing lightly

Sammy looks at her watch.

“It’s also time, should we go” she speaks to get rid of the awkward tension in the room and to actually go to their classes

“Uh sure buddy” he reptiles awkwardly

Both hid their pet between the darkness of the tables and rushed to their classes as the bell rang. Well it’s about to be tiring and rough for both of them.
