Chapter Text

Are you a liar
Or are you a ghost?
Am I playing with fire
And getting too close?

Once called a rat,
You had lived on these streets.
Along came a bat
And he showed you your wings.

You soon learned to fly
And tried to recover.
Until we saw you die
And you fell six feet under.

You crawled your way out
Through the blood and the tears.
You were lonely, no doubt
As you battled your fears.

So you had returned
To the place you had lost,
But the memories burned,
And their lines you had crossed.

You felt so betrayed
When they weren't on your side,
For your love would not fade
For them if they'd died.

It seemed that to them
Your love had expired
When you met your end
And were reborn in fire.

Live on, little phoenix.
Your time is not done.
Though there's blood on your lips,
Keep chasing the sun.

A true family stays;
They help and they hope.
When you need an escape,
They teach you to cope.

Family is trust,
Though it may take some time.
Though the world is unjust,
They're along for the ride.
