Work Text:

Musutafu was home to the prestigious omega university: UA Academy. All of the omegas from wealthy families seemed to gather there – a culmination of society’s finest. The school itself was rather small, given the population size of the secondary gender, but that was part of what made it so elite. Across the street from the school filled with omegas, was a co-ed college for betas and alphas.

Kirishima would often watch the beautiful omegas wander about their campus from his classroom windows. His campus was primarily made up of a tall building, allowing an eagle-eye view of the gardens across the street. He always took the seat with the best view, wanting to watch a certain pretty blond in particular. Kirishima had fallen hard for the hot and proud omega always studying at the public library. When he learned that the blond went to UA, he naturally found himself searching for him at every opportunity. His gaze would wander over to the UA gardens, trying to catch another glimpse of him.

It started with a chance encounter at the library – bumping into the pretty blond with scarlet eyes and an intricate bite collar around his throat. The collar was a dead giveaway, only omegas wore them. They were the only ones that needed to – a defense mechanism against hormonal, aggressive alphas. Kirishima was shot a cold glare when the omega almost spilled his coffee, which sent a chill down his spine. That look was piercing. He wanted the blond, needed him even. It was primal, and also the reason omegas felt the need to wear collars in the first place. He took a seat a few tables away, watching the gorgeous man of his dreams study his textbooks. UA undoubtedly had a fine library, so why did the blond feel the need to go to the public one?

Every day at the same time, Kirishima would go to the library. He would take a seat at one of the tables and wait. Most days the blond omega was there but some he was not. Kirishima had overheard his drink order at the library’s café one afternoon and watched as the object of his curiosity would drink his large black coffee with two shots of espresso each time he showed up. It sounded incredibly unappetizing – too bitter. Kirishima liked sweet things and that coffee was the furthest thing from.

After two weeks of watching, he couldn’t take it anymore. Omegas tended to shy away from alphas for safety, but he really wanted to talk to the blond. Kirishima arrived at the library, ordered a cappuccino for himself, and the bitter black coffee with two shots of espresso for the for the omega. Coffee would break the ice, right? Cautiously, he approached the table where the blond sat, books strewn about and laptop open. He set the to-go cup down on the table and cleared his throat. “Hey,” he greeted tentatively. The blond looked up through a pair of thick-rimmed glasses, scarlet eyes flicking from the cup of coffee to Kirishima, then back to his textbook.

“I don’t need coffee from some shitty stalker alpha,” he rebuked.

Shit. Kirishima hadn’t realized that the omega noticed him too. How long had he been watching Kirishima watch him? His face flushed, cheeks turning as red as his hair. “U-um, yeah, about that – sorry. I wasn’t trying to stalk you or anything. I didn’t mean to stare all the time, you’re just so pretty.”

The omega bristled, glowering at him. “I don’t like getting called pretty.” The blond gathered up his pile of textbooks and closed his laptop, shoving everything into the large backpack he had hanging from his seatback. Kirishima watched him make quick work of his belongings, jaw hanging slack. The omega slung his backpack over his shoulder and snatched the cup of coffee off the table before stalking off.

Kirishima stood there in stunned silence. The blond had completely shut him down without a word, but still took the gift offered to him. He had now become even more mysterious. So manly, he thought . Having been left alone, Kirishima had no other choice but to take a seat and work on his own assignments instead.

Kirishima returned to the library again the next day. The omega was sitting at his usual table, and he decided to give things another shot. Just like the day before, he ordered two hot drinks and walked as confidently as he could, over to the table. Without a word, he set the coffee down on the wooden surface in front of the blond and took a seat, pulling out his textbooks and homework to study. Kirishima smiled at the surly man seated across from him and was greeted with a glare. The blond glanced at the coffee, then back to Kirishima, before returning to his studies in silence. He took a drink from the cup of coffee and began typing rapidly on his keyboard – the click, click, click, being the only sound between them.

After an hour, the blond gathered his things once more, standing to leave without a word. Kirishima felt panicked, he really wanted to talk to the other man, but was afraid of getting rejected again. There was some progress compared to the day before, but he didn’t want to continue the silent studying forever. As the omega began to walk away, he reached for him, grabbing the blond by the hand. The other man spun on his heel; scarlet eyes narrowed at Kirishima. He felt sheepish under the gaze given. “Ah, um,” he stammered, watching the expression on the omega’s face turn annoyed. “I’m Kirishima,” he finally choked out. “Kirishima Eijirou.” The omega pressed his lips together as if he were sizing Kirishima up. After a long pause, he finally nodded his head once before pulling his hand free and leaving the library. Kirishima slumped in his chair, feeling the tension leave his body. That was a good sign, right? It had to be. No words were better than angry words.

I touched his hand. The thought felt so very juvenile, but a flood of excitement bubbled up from within. His skin was still warm on his palm where they had been connected, and Kirishima suppressed the urge to squeal like a child.

“Why have you been spending so much time at the public library lately?” asked Kaminari a few days later. He had taken a seat across from Kirishima in the campus cafeteria over lunch. The man with golden blond hair and a lightning bolt dye-job wasn’t the most observant, so if even he noticed, then Kirishima wasn’t doing a particularly good job at being discrete.

“You mean you haven’t noticed him constantly staring across the street?” asked Sero, taking a seat beside Kaminari at the table. The lanky, raven-haired man had a smug look on his face as he set his tray down.

“Nooo,” Kaminari gasped.

Kirishima swallowed nervously. “I’m not constantly staring.” Was he really that obvious?

Sero chuckled lightly and bumped shoulders with Kaminari. “He’s got it bad.”

“For an omega at UA?”

“Mhm.”

“Oh damn.” Kaminari reached for one of Kirishima’s dumplings and he snapped his teeth at him. The blond recoiled, protecting his hand as if he had actually been bit. “I cannot believe you would fall for someone at that prissy school. They are so stuck up.”

Kirishima glared at him from across the table. “You don’t know that they’re all stuck up. Some of them could be really nice.”

“Everyone at that elitist school thinks they’re better than everyone else. They’re all wealthy omegas that wouldn’t want anything to do with a bunch of community college betas and alphas.”

“My boyfriend and my childhood friend both go to UA. That’s what you’re talking about, right?” All three of them turned to see a splattering of freckles and curly green hair.

“Midoriya, hey,” Kirishima greeted, thankful for no longer being the center of attention.

Midoriya smiled at him, taking a seat beside Kirishima. “Hey,” he greeted in reply.

“You know omegas at UA?” asked Sero between bites of curry.

Midoriya nodded as he opened a bottle of green tea. “Yeah. Kacchan, my childhood friend, is a bit rough around the edges, but my boyfriend Todoroki is really nice. I’ve met some others there through them and while there are some people that are pretty full of themselves, I feel like most of the people I’ve met don’t look down on alphas and betas.” He smiled softly, the corners of his eyes wrinkling.

“I’unno,” argued Kaminari, “I’ve literally watched people take one look at the big guy here,” he pointed to Kirishima, “and move out of the way. It’s like they can tell he’s an alpha with just a glance and they get wary.”

“I’m not going to hurt them,” snapped Kirishima.

I know that,” agreed Kaminari, “but they see an alpha, and they get scared your instincts are going to take over or something.”

Kirishima slunk down into his seat at the table, burying his face in his hands. Was the omega from the library scared of him too? He tried not to do anything that would put the blond on edge, but maybe he was more bothered by Kirishima watching for so long before making any advances than he let on.

Midoriya gave him a pat on the shoulder with a smile. “I’m meeting them after classes today. Do you guys want to come with?”

Kirishima perked up. He wanted to go to the library again to meet the pretty blond omega, but maybe it would be best if he gave him some space. He had already been called a stalker once, he didn’t want to cement that fact by continuing to bother the omega day in and day out. Kirishima nodded sheepishly. “Yeah, sure. That could be fun.” He turned his attention to Kaminari and Sero across from them. “What about you guys?”

Sero shook his head. “I have work. Maybe next time.”

Midoriya shifted his gaze to Kaminari. “What about you?”

Kaminari mulled it over for a moment before shaking his head as well. “No thanks. I should probably meet Kyouka.” He looked dodgy, but they didn’t question it.

Midoriya nodded and turned to Kirishima smiling. “I guess it’s just you and me then.”

After school Kirishima followed Midoriya across the street to the prestigious UA front gates. Cherry blossom trees lined the pavement between them, and pretty pink petals fluttered their way to the ground. The city was awash in pinks and greens, bringing life to the spring day. Kirishima picked a petal from his cheek, rolling it between his thumb and forefinger. Something in him was alight with anticipation. The only person he had ever met from UA was the omega at the library. It was a long shot, but maybe he could ask Midoriya’s friends if they knew the blond. Though, Kirishima was at a loss for how to describe an angel.

“There they are!” Midoriya waved to a pair of students exiting the school grounds before them.

Kirishima watched as the head of curly green hair bounded past him. Midoriya enveloped the taller of the two men approaching them with open arms. White and red two-toned hair swayed as the man bent down to kiss Midoriya. Kirishima smiled at the inherent affection displayed between the two of them, before turning his attention to the one that must have been Midoriya’s childhood friend. His eyes widened as he took in the sight of a familiar head of golden blond hair. It shined in the sun’s rays, casting a halo of light atop the fine locks.

Kirishima’s breath hitched in his throat as he made eye contact with the omega. The angel from the library was Midoriya’s childhood friend. Kirishima was being granted the ability to meet the pretty omega outside of the library. His chest tightened and he grabbed at the front of his shirts, squeezing it in his fist. His legs moved on instinct, but they felt numb compared to the rest of his body. He wasn’t even sure how he managed to step forward to close the distance.

The blond wore a disdainful look on his face as he eyed Kirishima, but Kirishima was too busy being awestruck to notice.

Is this fate?

“Are you still stalking me?” asked the omega, arms folded in front of his chest.

Kirishima’s tongue was dry, and his voice croaked as he spoke. “I didn’t know you were Midoriya’s friend. I swear!” He pleaded; hands thrown in the air defensively.

“What are you talking about, Kacchan?” asked Midoriya, breaking his embrace with his boyfriend to face them.

Bakugou scowled at Midoriya and suddenly Kirishima felt ridiculously small. He was so excited about the fact that he got to see the omega again that he didn’t stop to consider the other man might not want to see him. Bakugou pointed his thumb rudely at Kirishima, scarlet eyes locked on Midoriya. “This is the guy that has been stalking me for weeks at the library.”

Midoriya turned to look at Kirishima and then back at Bakugou. “ He’s the alpha that’s been staring at you at the library?” Midoriya crinkled his brows, eyeing Bakugou in confusion. “But you said he has shitty hair.”

Bakugou waved his arms at Kirishima emphatically. “He does have shitty hair!”

Well, this sucks. Kirishima shoved his hands in his pockets and titled his head in Midoriya’s direction. “Um, I’ll just go. I don’t wanna impose.” He started to backstep towards the street behind them, wanting to remove himself from the situation as quickly as possible.

Midoriya clicked his tongue to the roof of his mouth and reached out to stop Kirishima. “Don’t go.” Emerald eyes locked with scarlet, and he shook his head. “Kacchan, be nice. I invited Kirishima. He had no idea you were the friend he would be meeting. Oh!” He glanced between Kirishima and the other omega at his side. “I just realized I didn’t introduce you.” Midoriya clapped his hands together before resting on each of their shoulders. “Kirishima, Todoroki; Todoroki, Kirishima.”

Todoroki nodded.

“Hey,” replied Kirishima softly.

“All right, now let’s go get dinner.” Midoriya locked arms with Todoroki and started marching down the street, leaving Kirishima alone with the miffed looking Bakugou.

“Do you do sports or something?” Todoroki asked after they settled into the booth at the local diner.

Kirishima looked across the table at him and shook his head. “No, not any more at least. I was on the Judo team in high school, but I don’t have enough time now – not with lectures and work. I do use the school gym though when I have time.” His gaze slid to Bakugou sitting directly across from him at the table, trying to gauge some sort of reaction.

The look on Bakugou’s face was hard to read. He sat there quietly eating a bowl of udon, not paying anyone much attention. Todoroki had redirected the conversation to Midoriya, and Kirishima watched as the pretty omega slurped noodles soundlessly. He really didn’t want to be on Bakugou’s bad side. If there was a way to fix things so that they didn’t start off on the wrong foot, he would love to do it. He would do anything for this man he barely knew. Kirishima couldn’t take his eyes off the blond, thoughts of his future with the pretty omega in it clouded his mind.

He hadn’t even noticed when Bakugou caught him staring and rolled up a menu in his hand, swatting Kirishima over the head, breaking his trance. “Sorry,” he muttered, embarrassed. “You’re just so –”

“If you say pretty one more time, I’ll –”

“Do you believe in fated pairs?” blurted Kirishima unconsciously.

Bakugou’s food fell from the spoon he held aloft and shot a glare at Midoriya. “Seriously Deku, where the hell did you find this guy?”

Shit. He hadn’t meant to say that. Kirishima opened his mouth to try and take it back but faltered. Bakugou looked annoyed – rightfully so. Shit, shit, shit. Kirishima shoved a large spoon full of curry in his mouth as a distraction. He needed to make things less awkward. Why was he so awkward? He had dozens of ribbons and metals in Judo, he could bench-press one hundred and sixty kilograms**, but God forbid he could talk like a normal person around someone he was attracted to. Please, someone just kill me now.

Midoriya made a feeble attempt to change the subject, but it failed. The four of them sat in silence at the table as they finished their meal until the server came over with the check. Kirishima had never been so relieved in his life to be brought a bill for his meal. Their awkward dinner was over. He reached into his back pocket to pull out his wallet when Bakugou snatched the slip of paper off the table.

“What are you doing?” asked Kirishima.

“Your meal is on me,” said Bakugou in reply.

Kirishima reached out to try and take the cheque back, but the blond pulled it further away. “You don’t have to pay for me! I have money.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes and pulled out his own wallet, slipping a credit card out from one of the pockets within. “I’m not doing this for you . You’ve bought me multiple coffees and I don’t like owing anyone.”

Kirishima blinked. “You don’t owe me anything! I didn’t do that expecting something in return.”

Midoriya shook his head and let a hand rest on Kirishima’s shoulder. “It’s just how Kacchan is, Kirishima. Just give up.” He insisted.

Bakugou gave Todoroki a shove so that he could slide out of the booth and stalked off to the counter to pay for the two of them. Kirishima looked at Midoriya and Todoroki apologetically before clambering out of the booth after him. “Sorry guys. It was nice meeting you Todoroki. I’ll see you at school tomorrow Midoriya.” He said in lieu of a goodbye.

Kirishima quickly walked through the rows of tables to the counter where Bakugou was being handed back his card. He wanted to apologize for making things weird. It wasn’t his intention. Bakugou shoved his credit card back in his wallet as the flushed redhead came to a stop beside him. “I’m really sorry about before,” he admits, eyes on Bakugou. “I wasn’t trying to imply anything when I asked about fated pairs – I mean, I was...  but I wasn’t. Does that make sense?”

Bakugou brushed him off, cheeks tinted pink. “It’s fine,” he mutters before heading outside.

Kirishima follows after him, catching a glimpse of the ornate, black bite-collar from under the lapel of Bakugou’s jacket. He brushed the collar with the tips of his fingers, grazing the omega’s neck. “So pretty.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes as he stepped out into the cool evening air of spring. “My parents are designers.”

Kirishima was standing close, probably too close. “Excuse me,” a woman interrupted, stepping between them. “Is this alpha bothering you? I can call Alpha Services.” She offered without hesitation.

Bakugou’s sharp gaze narrowed in on the woman in front of him. “Does it look like I need your fucking help?” He barked.

So manly!

The woman pursed her lips, glaring at Bakugou, before making her way down the street in a huff. Kirishima felt bad for her. She didn’t deserve to be on the receiving end of Bakugou’s hot temper, but Kirishima was also thankful for not having Alpha Services called on him. The last thing he wanted was to be calling his moms from a jail cell for harassing an omega. He cleared his throat, getting Bakugou’s attention once more. “Do you, maybe, have a bit more time?”

Bakugou cocked one of his perfect blond brows skeptically. “Time for what?”

“I wanted to thank you for standing up for me, and for dinner, and also to show you that I’m not some stalker creep?” Kirishima looked down at him hopeful. He gave Bakugou those sad, puppy-dog eyes that were so hard for anyone to resist.

Bakugou clicked his tongue to the roof of his mouth and sighed. “Fine,” he accepted begrudgingly.

Kirishima could hardly contain his enthusiasm. He did everything in his power to keep from squeaking. As he turned down the street to head away from the restaurant, he swore he caught a faint whiff of something and felt even more thrilled.

He led Bakugou back to his apartment to hang out, explaining that this way the omega could leave at any time if he felt uncomfortable. There was no obligation to stick around no matter how much Kirishima wanted it. Bakugou did little to protest and Kirishima couldn’t help but take that as a good sign. He fiddled with his keys for a minute before unlocking the door to his apartment. The building was old and a bit rundown, but it was cozy. Kirishima swung the door open stepping inside. “Come on in.” He said cheerfully.

Bakugou took one step into the apartment and turned up his nose. His hand rose to his face, covering his nose and mouth. “Your pheromones! They’re everywhere.” His breath was heavy, and he took a step back.

“Oh, sorry. Apologies. I think I have some pheromone deodorizing spray. I don’t usually get a lot of visitors since I’m so busy working.” Kirishima hurried through the apartment, rifling through his drawers trying to find the spray. It had been a while since he last used it. Bakugou waited outside while Kirishima spritzed the apartment, cleansing the small space of his pheromones. After a few minutes, the blond walked in.

Bakugou took off his coat and shoes and took one hard look at the messy apartment. “This won’t do. How can you invite someone over with your place like this?”

Kirishima blushed. “Well, I hadn’t planned to have anyone over today or I would have cleaned up.”

Bakugou shook his head and proceeded to start tidying the room without Kirishima’s consent. He picked up the empty containers of takeout boxes, tossing them in the trash, and gathered the discarded clothing items, putting them into a single pile. This is so embarrassing! Kirishima couldn’t let his guest do all the cleaning. He scurried around his room, working quickly to take things out of Bakugou’s hands and put them in their place. When the room was at a satisfactory level of clean, Bakugou took a seat on the floor next to the coffee table.

“Do you want a beer or something?” asked Kirishima.

“Sure.”

Kirishima handed Bakugou the cold, silver can and sat down beside him. The can made a pah-shh sound when it was cracked open and Kirishima took a big gulp, unsure of how to break the ice between them. He didn’t have to think too hard, since Bakugou seemed to take the initiative for him.

“So, you did Judo?” Bakugou asked between sips of beer.

Kirishima beamed his large toothy grin at him. “Yeah! I loved it. I wish I had more free time because I would love to keep at it. I do stop by the Judo club on campus every so often though, so that I don’t get rusty.” He started prattling on about various Judo moves and how he once got to meet his idol, the world-famous Judo champion: Crimson Riot.

“Tch. That’s nothing. You know the politician, Yagi Toshinori? I’ve met him a couple of times. He’s awesome and totally deserves the nickname All Might.”

“Is that what you want to do? Be a politician?” asked Kirishima curiously.

Bakugou shook his head and rattled the empty can of beer against the table. “Nah.” Kirishima went to fetch him another one as he continued. “I’m not really into all that. I’m studying to be a lawyer. I wanna be able to put bad guys behind bars.” He took the offered can, cracking it open and smiling ferally.

He was so pretty. It was unfair. Glossy eyes blinked slowly as Bakugou finished his newest can of beer. “I should, uh, I should probably get going. It’s late.”

Disappointment washed over Kirishima as Bakugou excused himself to the bathroom. He didn’t want the omega to go. It seemed like whatever wall was between them had finally been knocked down. He really enjoyed Bakugou’s company, and it only further solidified the fact that he liked him. Kirishima watched as Bakugou exited the bathroom in a rush, throwing his coat over his shoulders haphazardly. Odd, but Kirishima didn’t question it. He was too focused on the fact that he didn’t want the omega to leave, but he promised he wouldn’t pressure Bakugou to stay if he didn’t want to.

“I’ll see you later.” Bakugou told him as he left.

Later. There would be a later . Kirishima felt like he was floating. His steps were light as he cleaned up the empties and made his way over to the bed in the corner of the room. He would get to see Bakugou later

“It’s weird,” Kirishima complained over his tray of food in the cafeteria. A few days had gone by since Bakugou visited, and he was still on Cloud Nine.

“Yeah, yeah, you said that already,” Kaminari waved his hand dismissively.

“I know ,” Kirishima insisted, “but I can’t find my Crimson Riot hoodie anywhere and you know it’s my favorite. I remember wearing it last week, but now I can’t find it. I’ve had it for ages.”

“With how messy your place is, it’s gotta be there somewhere.” Sero encouraged. “Just keep looking.”

“Yeah, okay.” Kirishima agreed.

Thanks to Midoriya, he was able to exchange numbers with Bakugou. The omega had conveniently left Kirishima’s apartment the other night without telling him how to contact him. Bakugou came over again and they talked some more. Kirishima could feel himself falling hard and fast. The more time they spent together, the more resolute his feelings became. He was no longer following the pretty omega with his eyes but spending time with him – getting to know him. One night as they were talking, a faint blush painted the cheeks of the omega. It was vibrant against his pale cheeks and fair hair. It made Kirishima’s heart thrum in his chest. His heart ached. He wanted to touch Bakugou, kiss him, shower the omega in his scent and not let any other alphas near him; but he resisted – fighting back his urges to build a friendship with him.

Kirishima noticed increasingly more of his things go missing. It was subtle at first, but it started adding up – dirty shirts, clean bath towels, a pair of underwear? He shook his head, not wanting to believe the thought that crossed his mind.

“I think Bakugou is stealing stuff from my apartment, but I don’t get why. He’s rich. He can buy whatever he wants.” He told Sero and Kaminari at lunch one day.

“Some rich kids are like that. They get off on the rush,” Kaminari replied. “Why are you still hanging out with that omega anyway? Isn’t he like, super rude to you?”

“Nah,” Kirishima shook his head, “he’s actually really nice. Okay, maybe not really nice, but nice enough.” He corrected. “That’s why I’m really confused as to why he would be stealing my stuff. It only goes missing after he comes to visit.”

Sero cleared his throat. “It could be that .” The two of them turned to look at him confused, waiting for the man to continue. “My mom’s an omega,” he explained. “That Bakugou guy – he could be nesting. Sometimes they take things without even realizing it. It’s instinctual.”

“But why?” asked Kirishima.

Sero took a sip of his tea before continuing. “It’s a comfort thing, I think. Being able to smell an alpha while in heat makes it easier when alone. It’s also calming for them when they’re anxious. They like to surround themselves in the scent of their alpha.”

Kirishima could feel excitement building in his core. If he had a tail, it would be wagging. “But I’m not his alpha.”

Sero shrugged, lanky shoulders rising and falling in rapid succession.

His alpha . The idea thrilled him. Kirishima wanted to test that theory, but he wasn’t very clever, so the direct approach would be best. Plus, he also really wanted to get his Crimson Riot hoodie back if Bakugou did take it.

When they finished lunch, Kirishima pulled out his phone to ask Bakugou if he could go to his place to hang out for a change. Kirishima hadn’t been there yet. For some reason, Bakugou always wanted to come to Kirishima’s house. There was no doubt the omega had a nicer place than his. Did he not trust Kirishima in his space?

There was a moment of pause as Bakugou hesitated before giving Kirishima a gruff, “fine,” in response.

“Awesome!” he cheered. “I’ll see you tonight then.” Kirishima got excited as he walked down the street, leaving the campus grounds. He didn’t even notice the waft of pheromones he exuded when doing so. Kirishima almost felt like skipping, he was so alight with butterflies in his stomach. His cheeks hurt from smiling so hard.

As he made his way down the street, he caught a glimpse of an omega taking a hard fall on the pavement. Kirishima crossed the street and held out a hand, trying to help them. He still hadn’t realized he was still releasing pheromones. The omega looked hesitant to take his outstretched hand. “It’s okay,” he assured them. Kirishima knelt, resting one hand against the small of their back and wrapping the other around their elbow, lifting the omega to their feet.

“Thanks,” the muttered.

Kirishima nodded. “No problem.” Except there was a problem – a big problem.

Someone else passing by has misinterpreted the situation. Alpha Services was quick to arrive, cuffing Kirishima before he had time to finish assisting the omega. “You’re coming with us,” the office demanded. “You know it’s a big crime to assault an omega.”

“But I wasn’t!” Kirishima protested. He threw a glance over his shoulder at the omega he helped, pleading. “You gotta tell them I didn’t do anything.”

“Can it!”

Kirishima sat on the hard concrete bench in the holding cell of the police box, picking at his fingernails. What am I gonna do? He couldn’t tell his moms’ he had been picked up by Alpha Services over a misunderstanding. They would start a riot. People were so prejudiced against alphas that they always warned him to be on his best behavior when out in public. Not to mention, there was a hot-tempered omega waiting on him. Bakugou’s gonna be so pissed. The blond didn’t seem the time to take kindly to people being late. And he was super fucking late.

An officer approached the cell door and pulled out a set of keys, turning the lock. The door swung open with a creak, and they gestured for Kirishima to exit. “You’re free to go,” the officer told him. Apparently, the omega cleared things up with the police. They were waiting in the at the front desk when Kirishima walked out.

“Thank you again!” The omega chirped. “I’m so sorry about it.”

“It’s fine,” Kirishima assured them. It really was. The problem was resolved peacefully, so he wasn’t that upset.

“Here are your belongings.” The officer handed Kirishima a plastic bag with his phone, wallet, and keys inside. The redhead snatched the bag, quickly pulling out his phone.

[Bakugou]: My address is …

[Bakugou]: Hey, are you on your way?

[Bakugou]: Shitty alpha, where are you?

[Bakugou]: How long are you going to keep me waiting?

[Bakugou]: You better fucking be dead.

[Bakugou]: Seriously, where the fuck are you? Don’t even bother showing your face in front of me again.

There was a slew of angry texts from Bakugou, each getting progressively more hostile. He was mad Kirishima had stood him up and rightfully so. He didn’t know Kirishima had just been sitting in jail for the last couple of hours. The last message was from twenty minutes ago. If he could explain the situation, maybe he could smooth things over.

Kirishima scrolled up to the previous message with Bakugou’s address in it and took off in a sprint from the police box. He needed to get there as quickly as possible. He didn’t stop running until he was face-to-face with a large apartment building only a few blocks from massive UA campus. There was no way any normal college student could afford a place in that building. Kirishima pressed the call button on the front of the building, ringing Bakugou’s apartment.

“Please let me up,” Kirishima begged. “I’m sorry I’m late. I promise I can explain. Bakugou, please .”

There was nothing but static through the intercom speaker, before the door buzzed and clicked, unlocking. Thank you, he thought to himself. Kirishima made his way to the elevator and pressed the up arrow. The doors dinged and he walked inside, hitting the number five. He watched the numbers climb and bounced in place impatiently. He nearly lunged out of the elevator when it chimed, and the doors opened.

Kirishima hurried down the hall, eyes scanning the numbers on the doors until he came to the correct one. He stopped, took a breath, and with a shaky hand, knocked on the apartment door. It clicked and Bakugou poked his head out, giving Kirishima once-over before stepping back to let Kirishima into the apartment. The alpha walked in, taking in the large lavish apartment. The space probably cost at least five of his apartments. He swallowed nervously. Kirishima turned to his left to see Bakugou standing beside him in a faded red hoodie and a pair of black skinny jeans.

He blinked. That wasn’t just any faded red hoodie. It was Kirishima’s Crimson Riot hoodie. So Bakugou did take it. “Is that my hoodie?” he asked, already knowing the answer.

“Um…”

“So, you did take it. Did you take the rest of my stuff?” Kirishima’s heartrate quickened. His mouth felt dry, and his hands were growing numb.

“Ah… no…” Bakugou was clearly lying. The blond rocked on his heels, fists shoved into the front pocket of the hoodie, not making eye contact.

Kirishima needed to confirm things. He stomped past Bakugou and began marching through the apartment, flinging doors open.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Bakugou barked, chasing after him.

Kirishima ignored him. He was mad that he had to sit in a jail cell over a misunderstanding and then have Bakugou lie to him about stealing his things. The apartment was even bigger than he thought. It took four tries before he found Bakugou’s bedroom.

When he flung the door open, he was blasted with the scent of aroused omega pheromones. Kirishima’s breath hitched and his gazed settled on a pile of his belongings on the floor. They were tucked in the corner of the room, even more of them than he realized.

Bakugou came rushing in after him. “What the fuck gives you the right to go tearing through someone else’s place without permission?” He said in a huff.

Kirishima turned to him in blatant disbelief. “You like me.” It wasn’t a question. He watched Bakugou, gauging his reaction.

“N-no I don’t!” Bakugou protested.

“You took my things and built a nest.” Kirishima pointed behind him at the pile in the corner. “ I’m your alpha.”

Bakugou narrowed his gaze. “That’s not true!”

“Bakugou!” Kirishima snapped, releasing pheromones, forcing Bakugou into submission.

The omega winced. “Fine! Fine,” he repeated. “I took your shitty stuff. You kept going on about Crimson Riot this and Crimson Riot that, and I got jealous and saw the hoodie on the floor when I went to the bathroom and couldn’t help myself. Then I felt like shit for taking it and planned to put it back, but I just kept taking more stuff instead. I couldn’t control myself and I was reminded of you asking me if I believed in fated pairs and I was too embarrassed to give any of it back.” Bakugou’s face was flushed, a stark contrast to his fair skin.

Kirishima stood there dumbstruck. He hadn’t expected Bakugou to actually admit all of that. His cheeks hurt from the large grin plastered on his face.

“Well?” Bakugou barked, breaking the silence that had fallen.

Kirishima blinked once, then twice, trying to steady the pounding of his heart in his ears. “I think I love you.” He blurted out, throwing himself at the omega. He pressed forward, wrapping his hands around the back of Bakugou’s head, entangling his fingers in soft blond hair.

Kirishima bent down, crushing his lips against Bakugou’s. He tasted sweet, like oranges. He fumbled with the blond as he nibbled Bakugou’s lower lip and breathed in his sweet scent. Pheromones swelled around them, and Kirishima choked back a sob. He was so happy to be there in that moment, kissing Bakugou and caressing his cheek. Kirishima let out a guttural growl, lifting Bakugou off his feet. Bakugou gasped in surprise but wrapped his legs around the alpha’s large waist without complaint.

He stumbled through the room towards the bed, kicking the door shut behind them. The bedroom darkened and the pair of them fell onto the king-sized bed. Kirishima moved quickly to pull his Crimson Riot hoodie over Bakugou’s head. His gaze settled on Bakugou’s bare throat. “Your collar,” he choked out.

Bakugou shook his head. “It’s fine. My heat isn’t for a while. I don’t need it.”

Kirishima ground his teeth together, swallowing hard. “Kay.” His heart was racing, face burning hot. He leaned in, suckling at Bakugou’s throat. A low moan escaped the omega and Kirishima trailed his mouth lower, leaving a trail of marks on the blond as he went.

He undid the button on Bakugou’s jeans and nipped at his waistline. Bakugou shuddered and lifted his hips as Kirishima shimmied the pants down his legs, tossing them into a heap on the floor. Kirishima crossed his arms and lifted his own shirt high overhead, discarding it like a dirty rag.

His eyes roamed over Bakugou’s bare body, a picturesque landscape of muscular curves and valleys. “So pretty,” he muttered, and the blond rolled his eyes.

“I told you to quit calling me that.” Bakugou chastised.

“I can’t help the truth,” said Kirishima. His hand reached down, wrapping around the length of Bakugou’s cock, already dripping wet, and began to pump slowly.

Bakugou gasped as Kirishima began to rub slow circles around the tip. “Someone seems awfully eager.”

“Shut up and – ngh – take off your stupid pants, idiot.” groaned Bakugou.

Kirishima chuckled lightly, but did as instructed, kicking aside his pants before slotting himself between Bakugou’s legs. He dug one hand into the omega’s thigh and the other moved slowly to Bakugou’s ass, already wet with slick. He really is excited. Kirishima felt a flutter in his chest, heart soaring.

Bakugou dugs his fingers into the mattress as a thick, meaty finger pressed its way carefully into his hole. He let out a shuddering breath and bucked his hips upwards. His cock bounced against abdomen and another finger slid in with ease. Kirishima rubbed his fingers inside the omega, grazing the hot walls and teasing against Bakugou’s prostate. A moan escaped the blond and his body tensed.

“Relax,” breathed Kirishima against Bakugou’s throat with a kiss. It was too much stimulation for the omega. Bakugou choked out sob as he came all over his waist. “That was awfully quick.”

“Shut the fuck up,” snapped Bakugou, chest heaving. “We’ll see who’s quick.” He lifted one hand, pushing it firmly against Kirishima’s chest and twisted, flipping them over so that he was now seated on top of the alpha.

“What are you doing?” asked Kirishima, staring up at Bakugou with a wide grin on his face.

Bakugou glowered at him. “Proving you can come just as quickly,” he said, as he grabbed the cock pressing against his ass and slid his body down on it slowly until he bottomed out. Kirishima was massive. It almost felt like he was pressing up into Bakugou’s sternum.

The omega’s insides were warm and wet with slick. He wrapped his hands around the narrow waist on his lap and thrust hard and deep. Kirishima watched with great enthusiasm as Bakugou bounced up and down on his cock, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes and a trail of drool making its way slowly down his chin. “So pretty,” he said again, lifting one hand to wipe the drool away.

Bakugou squeezed around him, and Kirishima winced. He wouldn’t let himself be worked over that easily. Bakugou was going to have to try a lot harder to get him to cum.

They laid in bed, a mess of tangled limbs and sweat. Kirishima was wrapped comfortably around Bakugou, face buried in the crook of his neck. His breathing had finally grown steady, hearts beating in time with one another – a steady thumping like the tick of a metronome. He felt at peace and his eyelids grew heavy. Kirishima could stay in the moment forever, just snuggled up against the pretty omega that was bathed in his scent.

“Why were you late?” asked Bakugou, throat raspy, breaking Kirishima of his reverie.

Right. He hadn’t yet explained. “Mm,” Kirishima hummed, “I got arrested.”

What?” Bakugou sat up, looking down at the sleepy alpha incredulously. “Start talking,” he demanded.

Kirishima blinked, staring up at the piercing scarlet eyes narrowed at him. He cleared his throat and sat up, rubbing at the back of his neck. “After I got off the phone with you, I saw this omega take a fall and I went to help them, but someone else misunderstood and thought I was the reason they were on the ground and had attacked them. They called Alpha Services and the police came. That omega sorted things out with the officers, so they eventually let me go, obviously, but I had to sit in a holding cell for a while. It sucked.”

Bakugou stared at him in disbelief before shaking his head and laughing lightly. “You better not be late from now on.”

Kirishima’s eyes widened and a smirk graced his lips. “That means there’s a from now on?”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “I suppose I could make room for you somewhere.”

“You’d have more room if you gave back the stuff you stole.”

Bakugou furrowed his brows. “You are not getting any of that back, especially not that stupid Crimson Riot hoodie.”

Kirishima glared at him and shifted his weight on the bed so that he was hovering over Bakugou. “I’m gonna make you regret saying that.”

“Ha.” Bakugou laughed and reached up, wrapping his arms around Kirishima’s neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

Maybe he could punish him later. For now, he would rather further enjoy the company of his new mate. After all, he finally got to see him up close and personal.

Thank you for reading! I had a lot of fun with this one. Any excuse to write omegaverse is a good one to me and I hadn't done reverse caste yet. I also really love confessions that aren't really confessions. What did you think?
