“Mei. Mei. Mei. Mei. Mei. Mei.”

Kiana poked her slumbering girlfriend’s cheek while chanting her name in an even voice. There was a ghost of a smile on her face when she saw a twitch on the tranquil expression Mei held.

Said person groaned after incessant prodding. Her brain working on half of her usual power after a particularly long work night.

Her gaze remained hazy as she took in the form of her girlfriend, watching the outlines of the shirt she was wearing.

Just as soon as her eyes opened, it began to clamp down. The morning light burning her iris from behind the eyelid.

“Kiana... Why did you open the curtains...” She whined pathetically, curling into a ball when her blankets were stolen like her will to sleep.

“You big baby... I don’t wanna hear anymore from you. Get the hell up, Raiden Mei.” Kiana says firmly. She took the blankets and threw them on the chair, out of the Raiden’s reach.

“But I don’t have wwooork anymoreee~ Lemme sleeep~”

Kiana sighed and shook her head tiredly, even though her day had just started.

“Might I remind you what day is today?”

“... Remind me?” Mei peeked over from the forearms covering her eyes. A hint of amusement in those orbs.

“Argh! You just-”

Mei bursts out laughing at her infuriated expression. She wiped the corner of her eye, ridding it of the tear pricking at its edge.

Kiana bloated her cheeks. A healthy blush on her pale face when she realised that she had been played by Mei. She sniffed and looked away from her.

“Come on, Kiana. I was just joking...” Mei drawls as she stealthily crawled up to her now extremely annoyed lover.

“I was thinking to wake you up and get you ready for the breakfast I had poured my heart and soul into! Then we would have gone to meet up with your squad and Bronya and Fu Hua to celebrate! And-and at the end I would g-give you a...” Kiana mumbled in a low voice, getting quieter and quieter as she neared the end of her speech.

A wide grin spreads itself across Mei’s face, eyes sparkling with unhealthy amount of amusement and adoration.

“Give me a...?” She asks cheekily, playfully snaking an arm around Kiana’s neck.

“Gi-give you a...!”

“Mhmm~”

“A-A gift! Yes, a gift!” Kiana nodded her head shakily, a nervous smile on her face when she watched Mei stare at her with those amethyst orbs which seemed like they could see someone’s very soul.

“Isn’t that nice of you...” Mei says with a small smile. Trying to hide the absolute cheshire grin threatening to spill over her features.

“Yes! But now you have ruined it!”

“I am really sorry, dove... but I cannot deny the fact that I enjoyed your sulking form, even if for a while.”

“Mei!” Kiana tackles the raven-head onto the bed, pinching her cheeks.

“Ow! I am sorry!”

Bronya smirks when she saw the light red marks on Mei’s cheeks. She prevented herself from saying anything when a death glare was sent her way.

She loved her current life very much, thank you.

Fu Hua and Adam just looked at her curiously while Lyle gave her a thumbs up.

Though that didn’t seem to be the case for Carole. Or Timido.

“Squad leader! Your cheeks are very red, did you apply something special for today?” Carole inquired as she hops on her feet.

“Yes, they look... fascinating.” Timido added softly.

“Err... It was actually Kiana who did my makeup, it’s quite... lovely as you can see.” Mei says nervously, her eyes darting up to meet Kiana’s who was shot her a smug smile.

‘Damn it.’ Mei groaned internally.

The cake was, fortunately, baked by Bronya instead of Kiana this time. Even though both sides had struggled quite a bit to have their hands on the cake department, Mei had the final say in the matter.

And she had been subjugated to not one but two sparkling eyes when the contestants had asked her to try their cakes.

Needless to say, Bronya won flawlessly.

And so here they were, cutting a stupidly large cake with a familiar red dragon holding a white sword in its mouth.

A white... tuna sword?

“Bronya what the hell?!” Kiana screeched while the silver-head flew out of the window, narrowly missing a fire ball headed towards her.

Mei shook her head fondly while Fu Hua sighed exasperatedly.

“I am beat...”

Mei slumps in her seat, eyes lidded heavily and head rested against Kiana’s shoulder.

“Babe, you gotta stay upright. I can’t focus on the road with someone as hot as you leaning on me.” Kiana says as takes a turn towards an unfamiliar area.

“Where are we going?” Mei asks tiredly, vaguely remembering that there wasn’t a hill anywhere near their current home.

“Just trust me.” Kiana says with a lopsided smile.

The car stopped soon enough before getting parked near a hilltop.

Mei felt a small weight around her neck before it slid up to her eyes. Covering the orbs completely.

“Kiana what-”

“You trust me, right?” Kiana asks softly, making sure that the blindfold didn’t fall while she carried Mei over the hill.

Mei nodded her head with no hesitation.

“Lovely.”

The raven-head felt an arm slip under her knees and another behind her back to lift her up in a bridal carry. Arms instinctively wrapped around Kiana’s neck.

The warmth coming from her girlfriend made her nuzzle deeper in her chest. The intent didn’t go unnoticed by Kiana who giggled at her action.

“Comfy?” She asks her, as she sits down alongside Mei on one of the benches on the hill.

The raven-head hummed in content. She felt the blindfold slide down and all she could see were the shimmering lights from the city.

She could see the entirety of the area, the baker's shop where she bought materials from and their training ground. Their apartment was quite a bit far yet she could somehow figure it out.

The fatigue from partying late at night vanished in a moment’s notice and she couldn’t help but admire the absolutely gorgeous view of the city this place provided.

“I had lost my way back to home a few months back and ended up finding this place... I wanted to show you this ever since but now...”

The white-head tilted her head to meet Mei’s eyes. Deep blue boring itself in the purple orbs.

“I think I found the moment.”

Kiana kissed Mei softly, making her feel all warm and soft at the same time. It left her with an explosion of emotions.

It felt like sun. The lights she basks in.

It felt like rain. The sorrow and misery.

It felt like flowers. Pleasant and beautiful.

It felt like home. Warm and comforting.

And Mei didn’t know when she had to force herself to part from the kiss. It was tiring, yes, but it was an experience that Mei wouldn’t want to forget for the rest of her life.

“Do you know how much I love you?” A dopey smile flitted across Mei’s face.

“Maybe as much as I love you. Which is quite a lot, mind you.”

Kiana grins widely when she heard Mei giggle. She is sure that she has done a fine job.
