rank up in all parameters, but is deprived of most reason. Lycaon is always at the edge of sanity, with his vicious and sadistic nature barely containable due to the nature and origin of his curse. He loses all sense of reason when confronted by gods or anyone descended from them, especially if they are Greek gods of their decendents.

A skill that denotes his status as the origin of a famous species of monster that has hounded humanity and been feared by them for many years. This has resulted in a rank up for all parameters and skills. All enemies around Lycaon that are purely human feel a sense of fear while around him

A composite skill of animal communication and wild beasts’ logic, attributable to both his ability to command lower beasts due to being the king of the werewolves, and his vicious personality being enhanced by his animal instincts allows him to increase his speed of thinking focusing on killing his enemies. This skills rank is lowered due to madness enhancement interfering with his mind.

Kings legacy: C

A skill that denotes his status as the human king of a once great region, and his status as father to the founders of many great city’s. For any other servant with the status of king, this would have manifested as the charisma skill, but due to his nature and fame as a monster tainting his legacy, the skill has been altered. Now it can only create a calming effect on allies, so that they are more willing to work with him despite his mental state and horrid nature.

A noble phantasm that embodies the curse that transformed him into a wolf, it is the essence of what makes him the first werewolf. The curse leaves him as a dangerous humanoid wolf, with his parameters all greatly enhanced from his state as a human. The curse also gives him the mind of a beast, while he can still speak and think like a human, he can barely control his vicious and violent instincts. Due to the nature of his curse, this Noble Phantasm is active by default, leaving him in his transformed state.

Due to being the origin of werewolves as a concept and species, the human belief that werewolves shift between their wolf state and human state has altered this Noble Phantasm, allowing Lycaon to change back into his human self. However, the origin of this curse being divine in nature means that it requires a large amount of mana from Lycaons master to fight against the curse and maintain his human form, to the point that if Lycaons master was an average magus, they would only be able to provide enough mana to allow Lycaon to stay in human form for less than half a minute.

As a human, Lycaon’s parameters would drop several ranks, he would lose access to all of his personal skills except Kings’ legacy, and his class skills would be sealed until he returned to his werewolf form.

A noble Phantasm that embodies his remembrance as a culture hero for arcadia due to the great deeds that are attributed to him despite his evil nature. It is a reality marble that creates a replica of the city of Lycosura, a city Lycaon founded that is said to be one of the oldest cities in history. Even the population of the city is replicated, though how much of its population is present is determined by the strength of Lycaons master. However, Lycaons evil nature, great sin, curse, and fame as the first werewolf has distorted this noble phantasm. Lycosura is not a perfect replica, but a ruin of its former self, with its population all appearing as mindless werewolves at the command of their founder and former king.

Flesh of Nyctimus: Sin of the Evil King

A Noble Phantasm that represents Lycaons great act of evil, killing his youngest son Nyctimus and trying to trick Zeus into eating him. It manifests in the form of forcing a curse upon his enemies that weakens them over time. As his bestial form is a reflection of his true nature and his evil trick, Lycaon already acts as a carrier for the curse, which he forces upon enemies through his bite. By biting his enemies, he is can be said to be re-enacting his crime, which is the reason the curse to transferred by bite. This Noble Phantasm has anti-diving properties due to its origin being an attempt to humiliate a god and prove his divinity false. Thus, ‘Flesh of Nyctimus’ increases in rank to ‘A+’ when used on divine enemies. This not only makes the bite itself more damaging to divine targets, but the curse more debilitating to them as well.

Personality

Lycaon is an arrogant man with streak of viciousness within him. While he once hid these parts of himself out of a sense of practicality, he finds it far more difficult to do so now that he has the body of a beast. While he can hold conversations with people, there is always a sense that he is teetering on the edge of madness.

Still, Lycaon does try to hold himself in check so as to cause as few problems between him and his allies, and can come across as rather pleasant and charismatic during his calmer and more restrained moments, befitting of a man who was still considered a culture hero in his kingdom despite having committed such evil deeds.

However, bringing up his past sins or the gods that punished him for them is a guaranteed way to anger Lycaon. He will often respond to the mention of the sins of his past by loudly ranting that his actions weren’t evil or that his cursed was never deserved. Yet, this emphatic, vigorous and passionate denial can almost make one wonder if he is hiding his true thoughts….

Motivation/Attitude towards Master

As an arrogant man, Lycaon is loathed to call anyone his superior and will only reluctantly acquiesce to his master’s commands due to their contract. However, should he find that his master treats him as a human rather than a monster he will be far more willing to work alongside his master, and even try to pass on some of the wisdom that had once allowed him to be a beloved king.

Historical Image and Character

Lycaon was once a king of Arcadia, a large and expansive region of Ancient Greece. He had done much good for the region, founding cities and traditions and fathering 50 sons, many of whom would go on to found their own cities. This all changed one day when Zeus, king of the gods, appeared in Arcadia. Despite Zeus showing signs of his divine nature upon entering Arcadia, Lycaon refused to believe that he was truly a god. To test Zeus’s divinity, Lycaon killed his youngest son, Nyctimus, and served his flesh to Zeus for a meal. Zeus saw through this trick and became enraged at the act. He brought Lycaons house down around the kings head, and when Lycaon fled, Zeus transformed him into a wolf.

Lycaon was a king of Arcadia, who was beloved by his people for the contributions he made to the region, and was looked upon as kind and just. In truth, however, Lycaon was an arrogant and vicious man who simply knew that letting his true nature show in front of his subjects could lead to revolts or assassinations. He would indulge in his true nature, but only on occasions where he was sure no one was around to see him do so, such as torturing prisoners in the dungeons.

One day, Zeus, king of the gods, visited Arcadia. While he quickly made apparent his divine nature in undeniable ways, Lycaon refused to believe that Zeus was truly a god, simply because he was to arrogant to accept that there could be someone greater then him. As Zeus showed his divine nature again and again, Lycaon’s anger and jealousy grew to the point that he stopped trying to keep his true nature hidden and thought of a truly horrible way to “prove” Zeus’s divinity to be a fraud. He killed Nictymus, the youngest of his sons, and served his flesh to Zeus as a meal, believing that if Zeus truly were a god then he would see through this trick and not eat the meal. Lycaon was in fact correct, in that Zeus saw through the trick immediately and in anger for committing such an evil act, brought Lycaons house down upon his head. Lycaon managed to flee the crumbling building, but that was not the end of his punishment. Zeus transformed the fleeing Lycaon into a gold coloured wolf, so that his true nature would now always be on display.

From this curse, Lycaon became the first werewolf, from which all others are descended. Unlike most modern werewolves, who are merely on the level of magical beasts, Lycaon is a gold werewolf on the level of a phantasmal beast. Due to his status as the progenitor of the species, Lycaon is called “The King of Werewolves”. He is seen by humanity as a monster for his actions, but the species descended from him venerates him despite his deeds. Yet, Lycaon does not care for his new title and monstrous decedents, and hates that he seen as a monster by the species he was once apart of.

After all of these years, Lycaon denies that his punishment was deserved and will rant to anyone about how unjust it is at the mere mention of it. However, this is a deception. Lycaon truly, in his heart of hearts, believes that his punishment is deserved. However, only the deeper part of him, his subconscious, recognises this. The part of him that is closest to the surface, his conscious mind, still refuses to see the truth, due to the very same arrogant and vicious nature that brought this curse upon him in the first place. When Lycaon denies the justness of his punishment, he is trying to convince himself of that more than anyone else. It is this mental instability, combined with his vicious nature and hatred for the divine that makes him fit for the berserker class. While his hatred for the gods and desire for revenge would be enough to qualify any other servant for the avenger class, that there is a part of Lycaon’s psyche that recognises that this hatred is unfounded and should be turned inward towards himself disqualifies him from the class.

General Armaments

His claws, his fangs, and the otherwise ordinary sword that he used kill Nyctimus. While the sword is far below the level of a noble phantasm, its connection to his legend makes the version of the sword that appears with him as a servant strong enough to wound other servants.
