Chapter Text
The world seemed to have been burning down, flames everywhere, buildings torn down, smoke as clouds, but amidst the chaos there stood two women, strong women just from the feeling of it. They had their backs towards the observant one had long pink hair and the other had organe but a bit of teal in there as well. While their backs were still towards the person one of them said with a somewhat deep sounding voice, “Run Clara, take your friends and get out of here!”
Then next thing she knew the two leaped incredibly far leaving trails of black and orange from the two.

Clara’s eyes shot open and she sat up quickly breathing heavily.
“Uhh, you good?” Clara looked to her side quickly but saw her roommate/best friend Faunii who looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
Clara took a second and smoothed her thick hair back, calming her breathing, “Y-yeah I'm good…just a bad dream.”
Faunii sighed as she lifted her bed covers off her body, “Ok whatever you say crazy.”
Clara shot a look at her roommate “Hey! What is that supposed to mean!”
Faunii smirked smugly as she shrugged her shoulders while she headed towards the door, “I gotta wake up Walter he’s probably still sleeping.”
Next thing Clara knew she was by herself in the room. It took her a second trying to think about the dream she just had but just let out a frustrated sigh. She got up and walked in the hall to the bathroom, younger kids who were already up, laughed as they ran in the halls, one of them bumped into Clara.
“Ah, I'm so sorry Clara!” Clara just smiled and chuckled a bit, “It’s ok, just make sure you guys be careful ok?” They all smiled back and in unison said, “Ok!”
Clara, Faunii, and Walter were the oldest and longest residents of this building which was an orphanage, all three were seen as the older siblings. The three were abandoned with no recollection of who their parents were but they didn’t mind at all cause they had each other and the head caregiver who they just called Mom.
Their mom was soft-spoken and didn’t really express herself but the three have had enough time with her to know what she was expressing even if she didn’t show it.
Clara finally reached the bathroom and looked into the mirror and saw her shoulder length bright pink hair that transitioned into teal at the ends of her hair. Other than her unusual hair the other thing that pops out is her purple eyes that could pierce anyone's vision.
After brushing her teeth she went back to her room to change into comfortable clothes and just after she was done a knock came at the door. Clara opened the door to see a little girl with short brown hair fidgeting a bit.
“A-ah C-Clara m-mom wants to see you.” Clara knew the little girl personally, she crouched down and patted the girl on the head and smiled, “Thanks Mira.” The girl began to tear up, “A-are you, Faunii, and Walter leaving…” Clara had a grim face for a second but quickly hid it, “Maybe, but that doesn’t mean the rest of you guys are either. Even if we do leave, make sure you take care of everyone in our place, got it?”
Mira nodded her head which made Clara smile and hug the girl and left for mom’s office.
When she entered she saw the other two, Faunii and Walter standing waiting for her. Faunii was a character in herself, she has long dark blue hair, usually puts flowers in her hair for aesthetics and dark blue eyes. She's usually pretty confident in whatever she does, she gets pretty scary when it comes to her garden outside, but in all she secretly cares for everyone in the orphanage even though she acts like she doesn’t care.
Walter has short dark hair with a mole under his right eye. He has very bright blue eyes to contrast his dark hair. He’s probably the most calm and level headed person of the trio, usually, he’s the one you go to for advice or just want to chat to pass time, the only thing they groan about him is his excessive use of puns but they really enjoy it most times.
Walter turned towards Clara, “Ah you're finally here.” Clara just nodded, “Yea, can I just assume the reason here is cause…”
Faunii interrupted, “We're being kicked out since we reached 18.”
Clara glared a bit at Faunii, “Don’t say it like that! Mom probably doesn’t want this more than we do!”
Walter got between the two, “Ok both of you calm down, we all knew this was going to happen one day or another.”
Faunii crossed her arms, leaned against the nearest wall, and looked away from the group. All three didn’t know their birthdays since their Mom never really got records of them so they all just shared the same birthday. So now since they all reached the age that was considered an “Adult” they are now being forced to leave.
They then heard a voice come from behind the door, “Clara, Faunii, Walter, come in.” They all went into the room as they saw the silver haired figure they called mom sitting behind her desk. Mom then spoke again, “I think we all know what you are here for, as of tomorrow…you three will leave this place as today is your birthday and you turn 18.”
All three looked grim as they knew they were leaving the only family they had. Mom then smiled though, “I want to spend the last day with all of you, so me and the building will be decorating for your birthday, I want you three to go out to town and explore while we are getting ready ok?”
Everyone was shocked at the fact that mom just smiled but most of all they also felt bubbly as mom was going to got through with celebrating and making sure to be with them.
Mom then got up to stand in front of the three with the same saddened smile, she went infront of Walter, “You have grown up so much in the years I have been watching over you, make sure to keep these girls in check for me ok?” Walter with tears in his eyes nodded and hugged them.
Mom then went up to Faunii who wouldn’t look at her in the eyes, “Faunii, I still remember when you begged me for a garden, and the look on your face when I surprised you was one of the many faces that I loved about you, I want you to keep this confidence of yours as well, don’t take anything from anyone you hear me?” Faunii looked like she was trying to hold back tears but soon the gates were flooded as she hugged the smaller figure crying her eyes out.
After that mom went up to Clara who was currently holding up strong with few tears, “Clara, you-” it was cut off though as flashes of the setting in her dreams came into her sight, the two women warning her to run, the fire, the sky, but one difference was the person the two women attacked was none other than mom.
The echoes of her name slowly reverted her back to what seemed to be the present as mom had a worried look on her face, “You ok Clara?”
“Huh? Oh yeah! I uh was just too sad to hear anything heh.” Mom sighed but still kept the smile as she hugged Clara, “Be safe ok?”
Clara whispered back, “I will, I promise.”
After mom let go of the hug she looked at the three she raised, “I think we should be getting started on your party, so go out and have fun here is cash, and make sure you come back by 3 for the party ok?”
The three smiled, “We will!”
The three spent all day in town, shopping, arcade, eating, karaoke, etc. The next thing they knew it was 2:45 and they were gonna start heading back.
Walter turned to the two girls smiling, “Today was pretty fun huh?”
Clara nodded, “Yea…at least we have this last day with everyone huh?”
Faunii sighed, “Lets not think about that now, we have to keep a happy face on for the rest of the kids or else they’ll be feeling down like us.”
Walter nudged Faunii, “Aww here is mother Faunii thinking about the little ones.”
Faunii looked flustered then hit Walter on his arm, “Hey I merely would just be annoyed with their mood, it's infuriating to constantly see sad faces all the time!”
Clara just smiled, “Is it that hard for you to admit you love those little guys?”
Before Faunii could respond they heard a loud crash in the alleyway next to them. They all stopped in their tracks to look but it seemed the noise came from deeper in the alley.
Clara took a step towards the alleyway but was held back by Walter, “What are you doing Clara.”
Clara looked at Walter, “I'm going to check out that noise,” she then tried to go forward again but once again was held back by Walter, “Just ignore it we have to go home.”
Clara managed to break her arm free from the grasp, “What if someone was hurt? I have to look just in case, if you’re so worried then come along I don’t care.”
Faunii was then right next to her, “I agree, let's just quickly check and go back.”
Walter sighed annoyed like he knew he can never win against these two, “Fine but quickly alright.”
The two nodded and the three headed into the thin alleyway. After a while they managed to get to an opening and saw a blond woman rise from a trash can holding something up while yelling, “Finally I found you!”
Clara groaned, “Nevermind just some crazy homeless lady, let's go.”
Just before they turned around Walter and the woman locked eyes, the woman’s eyes got visibly wide as her lip quivered a bit, “W-Walter?”
The three were stunned, they neer met this woman nor did they own any social media to where she might have seen him, it was scary.
The woman walked towards Walter almost sprinting, Walter got scared but couldn’t move, the woman then hugged Walter tightly, shocking everyone.
The woman sounded like she was crying into Walter’s shoulder, “I thought we lost you forever. I'm so glad to see you…son.”
At that moment no one knew but all three of their lives would soon be changed forever with this interaction.
