Pushing On

Summary:

It was painful. Izuku couldn't breathe. She gasped for breath while tightly clutching her chest with one hand. What had she done? Why did it come to this? What was she doing?

She shakily wiped the bloody knife on her pants and slipped it into her pocket. The still body at her feet.. Blood pooling, nearly reaching her feet.

It would be okay right? She would be okay.

Or

Izuku gets herself into some shit. Will she be able to lean on her two closest people for support? Or will it all be too much for her?

Chapter Text

Loud screeching from the alarm caused a groan to come from under the sheets. A pale hand reached out and slammed down on the top, shutting the alarm off. The arm withdraws back under the covers. Another groan.

"Baaabe. We gotta get up.."

Under the sheets, Izuku curled closer to her heat source. She whined when it disappeared and cracked open her eyes as lips pressed to her neck. A sigh left her lips as she wrapped her legs around his hips and pulled the blond head closer.

"Time to wake up princess."

Light kisses feathered down her neck and across her shoulder. Her hands ran through blond hair and lightly tugged. He pulled back and grinned down at her.

"Kei, you gotta get up and around too, you know."
His tongue darted out and slid across his lips. His red wings flex slightly behind him.

"I know, but you make it hard."

He chuckled and she pulled him down and pressed her mouth to his. After a moment they disconnected and she let out a small breathy moan. She unclasped her legs and pushed him off. He rolled to the other side of the bed after being pushed off, tightly tucking his wings in so they dont get in the way.

"You make it hard for me too, you know."

She pushed herself up and raised her arms into a stretching motion. Keigo's gold gleaming eyes lower to trace her form. Izuku caught his eye and a small smirk formed. She pushed herself up on the bed and crawled towards him. His face scrunched up.

"Izuku…" He grumbled in a low warning tone.

She came beside him and crawled into his lap. Her legs wrap around him and her ankles lock together. His hands settle on her hips. He closed his eyes and buried his nose in her neck, eliciting a giggle from her. She wrapped her arms loosely around his torso, under the base of his wings, and leaned into him.

"Goodmorning love." She whispered gently.

"Morning 'zuku"

He whispered into her neck. She brought a hand up and ran it through his ruffled hair.

"Do you know when you'll be home tonight? I'm not seeing you as often. I miss you."

Keigis body seemed to droop even more into hers.

"I'm sorry. The commision has been running me ragged. There's been an increase in villain activity recently and they have been giving me nearly impossible workloads. It should be a few more weeks before things start to fizzle down again."

Izuku frowned and continued to graze her fingers along his scalp. She hated how much they worked him like a dog. It wasn't healthy.

"I understand, I just wish they didn't work you so hard. You should probably go ahead and get ready. I gotta get down to the shop too."

She pulled back, trying not to whine at the loss of contact. She could stay in his arms all day.

"Will you and Dabi be coming over tonight?" He tilted his head.

"I'm not sure. He's been busy lately too. I'll text you and let you know though- ah!"

He stood quickly and she squeaked and righted her legs around his waist. His hands gripped her thighs. She let out a breathy groan as he slid his tongue into her mouth. Izuku moaned as he rolled his hips against hers. Her hands shot up to tug his head back. A low growl left his throat as they parted. He looked at her with half lidded eyes.

"Make sure you both save enough energy for when I get home tonight."

She huffed and rolled her eyes. Her legs unhooked and she let herself drop to the floor.

"Yeah yeah. Tell that to Dabi."

She turned and headed to the bathroom. His half lidded eyes followed her as her hips swayed, ass barely covered by his oversized shirt. He licked his lips. He looked forward to coming home tonight.

Dabi and her didn't technically live at Keigos place. They each had their own places but more often than not stayed at his home. Probably half of their clothing and some belongings all resided in his home. He loved it. He tried multiple times to try and bribe them to just move in, but they both refused. Izuku didn't want to leave her family home behind fully. Saying she considers both places her home. Dabi seemed reluctant and more inclined to move in with Izuku than him. He felt the smallest offense, but he took pride in his nest. It was his home and he made sure they knew it would always be theirs as well.

He glanced over at the clock and sucked in a deep breath before darting around.

"Shit! Izuku! We are both running later than I thought."

He faintly registered her head poking out of the bathroom to look at the clock before he heard a screech from her and something being knocked off the counter.

"This only happens when I stay over! I'm supposed to open it in 10 minutes!"

Keigo wheezed as he quickly pulled on his hero costume. He yelped when Izuku chucked a boot at his head. She stood in the bathroom door frantically brushing her teeth and hopping on one leg as she pulled up some pants.

A few minutes later they both were leaving. Izuku pulled lightly on the white fur lining his jacket collar, tugging him down to give a quick kiss to his cheek. A small red feather circled around her wrist like a makeshift cuff bracelet.

"Text me later. Stay safe Hawks. Love you."

He returned the kiss, whilst pulling down his yellow visor.

"Always a baby bird. Love you."

His red wings spread and he took off as she briskly jogged towards her job. She would only be a few minutes late hopefully.

Izuku sighed as she wiped down another table. It has been incredibly slow today. She arrived several minutes late, but luckily no customers were waiting. In fact, she had plenty of time to fully prep the shop long before a customer finally arrived. It probably didn't help that it was pouring outside. She glanced at the clock. Still a long while to go.

Even if it was slower today it didn't make the day go by any faster. In fact, she was only working a full day because some of the help she had hired on, quit a few days ago. One had found a job closer to where they lived, and the other just stopped showing up. She had barely had any time to even post about there being a job opening. With how busy it normally is, she doesn't normally have a breather. Thank goodness for crappy weather.

Now was as good a time as any. She went behind the counter and flicked open her laptop. She quickly made a help wanted document and struggled to get it to print properly the first few tries. Her dinky printer left track marks, or random splotches. Finally getting a clear printout was a relief, half an hour later. Only having to stop once to make an order for an elderly couple. She taped it to the front door and prayed someone would come along soon. As much as she loved this shop, it was draining.

The shop itself was a small cafe passed to her from her mother. Her mother had passed away a few years ago and Izuku quickly took up ownership. Nothing had changed though. She had basically been managing the shop since she was of age. It was her literal home. Above the coffee shop, was a large apartment with several rooms. It once used to serve as a motel at one point before it was renovated into a more home-like space.

Izuku busied herself by deep cleaning things that had been put off due to the lack of time. Her attention was pulled as the small tv she had in the corner mentioned a villain attack. She grabbed the remote and turned up the volume slightly.

"-attack at a local grocery store. The villain tried to steal several items, before a worker noticed and called them out. This caused the villain to lash out, but luckily a pro hero was nearby and was able to quickly detain the villain before any more damage could-"

She flicked off the tv with a frown prevalent.

Villain

Everyone is a villain nowadays. A kid stealing a candy bar would be labeled a villain. This was insanity. With the short clip the news had shown, it was an older man with a tail quirk. He looked scared. Sick. He had food items splayed around him, most likely from the panic. He was being held down with the pro roughly pushing his face into the concrete as they and the police detained him. He was shouting, but the video was muted.

It was a pity. With the foods around the man he probably had a family to feed. Maybe. Who knows. Either way, the family was going to get nothing now. As sad as it may be. Or maybe it was just him.

Izuku felt her phone buzz in her pocket and quickly checked it. Keigo was checking in, seeing how things were going. She glanced up and sighed as she realized how late it was. Night as well close up shop early since it's so slow today.

After several minutes of her cleaning up, she started wiping down tables mindlessly. The last person left just a few moments ago. She heard the sound of the door opening, but hadn't turned around. "Good evening!"

She hummed lightly and then let out a startled yelp when a body pressed into her back. She quickly turned around ready to swing, but her hand was caught. A shit eating smirk met her.

"You scared the shit out of me Dabi!"

She explained as she felt hands left her legs around him and placed her on the table she had been wiping down. Dabis rough hands circled around her and he dipped down into her neck and grazed his teeth.

"You were asking for it. I haven't seen you in a whole ass day and when I lay my eyes on you, you're bent over for me already. Tsk."

Izuku snickered and placed a hand against his chest and light pushed back, but her legs hooked around him loosely. He backed away ever so slightly so their lips could meet. It was rough. And got extremely messy within a few minutes.

His hands dip under her shirt, and she can't help but let out a breathy moan at the heat his hands hold. They crawl higher, when suddenly the door opens to the shop again.

"Oh fuck - Good evening!"

She scrambles out of Dabis' hold and kicks him in the shin as he cops a feel while she escapes. She ignores the hiss he lets out.

When she looks at the door a blushing younger couple seem to be confused whether they should go or not. She quickly seats them and drags Dabi behind the counter to help her.

"I'm sure they would have enjoyed the show."

Dabi grumbles and passes her something she needs while being leaned against the counter. He crosses his arms and watches her work with a half lidded gaze. She lightly smacked him and rolled her eyes.

"I'm sure you would have enjoyed giving them a show. Anyhow, how was your day?"

He sighed heavily like he was annoyed she asked, but she knew it was for show.

"It was alright. Same old. Same dumb asses. I feel like my brain cells dwindle the more I'm there."

Izuku grabs one of his hands and gently places it around a warm cup of coffee. She also places some cut up food next to him. His apathetic and tired demeanor switched suddenly as he began eating. He ate quickly but slowly at the same time.

She always cut up his food into smaller pieces to make it easier to bite and chew. Anything that lessened the pull on his jaw and burnt skin was helpful.

"Are we going to Keigos later?"

He mumbled with his mouthful. He grunted when she slapped his arm.

"He asked if we would be. I told him I would text him once I knew if you were going to be busy or not."

The couple had left a bit ago, so Izuku decided to go ahead and close. She switched the sign at the door and returned to chuck a rag at Dabi to clean up his mess.

"I'm free tonight. Tomorrow I probably won't be though."

She hummed and grabbed her phone to text Keigo that information. She leaned back into Dabi as he held her loosely against his chest. She raised her camera and took a selfie of her and Dabi sending it to Keigo.

It was Dabi resting his chin on her head while flipping off the camera, with a snarky smirk. She held up a peace sign with a grin.

Izuku shifted and placed her phone in her pocket as she twisted slightly in his grip. She reached up and gently brushed his cheek with her thumb. Dabi ever so slightly leaned into her touch.

"Have you applied anything to your skin today?"

His eyes were half lidded, and his piercing blue eyes seemed amused. He pulled away and turned off the lights beside them.

"Why would I, when I can have you do it for me? "

She huffed and lightly bumped him with her hip. She opened a door in the kitchen that led to a set of stairs. It led to a hallway with several doors. The first one was hers, and the next one was Dabi's. Half of their stuff was mixed though, despite them having their own rooms.

She went into her room and grabbed a few clothes from a drawer and shoved them in a bag. He sluggishly followed her and grumbled as she threw the bag at him.

"Here are some of your clothes. I know you're not doing laundry tonight, and I sure as hell ain't. God forbid Keigo gets off his ass and does some clothes. Or anything for that matter. It would be a goddamn miracle…"

She continues mumbling while pushing him out and back down the stairs. He says nothing in response. She was right. He sure as hell wasn't doing any chores tonight.
