Chapter Text
His back scratched harshly against the wall as he slid to the floor, his skin stinging when dust got into the raw slashes that had just been made with a few firm swings of a whip. His body ached and he hadn’t slept in days– he was so tired, but what could he do? Falling asleep wasn’t really an option, and there was no way to wake himself up or replenish his energy.
The only thing keeping Peter Parker fighting was the fact that he knew his family had to be on their way to save him.
Any minute now, they would crash through that door, say some snarky quip about the state of his clothes or the weakness of the doors, and take him away forever; anywhere was safer and warmer than here but he knew they would take him to the safest and warmest of places– Avengers Tower (a superhero base and his home of the last six months).
Every minute that passed by, every hour that escaped him, every day that he was still in chains did not stop Peter from thinking, “ Any minute now. Any minute now. ” Because hope was the only thing keeping him awake, and, by extension, the only thing keeping him alive.
Thank god he trusted in his family so much.
Thank god he didn’t know his family was completely oblivious to the fact that he had gone missing over six days ago.
