Old Friends

Summary:

Blackquill and Krabs have a history. The question is, will Mr. Krabs acknowledge it outside of prison?

Notes:

I saw there was a tag for Blackquill x Krabs, but no works or bookmarks, meaning something *used* to exist but was deleted. I can't find the forbidden Blackquill x Krabs fic, so I wrote my own. I will write more next time I get high as balls.

Chapter Text

"Krabs-dono."

"Argh! Blackquill, me boy!" Mr. Krabs cackled, turning around and greeting the man with a hug. "I haven't seen you since prison. How have you been?"

"Oh, I'm back as a lawyer now, Eugene," Blackquill leaned against a table, watching Mr. Krabs tidy up for closing time. "Are you up to your dastardly tricks again?"

"Me? Tricks?" Mr. Krabs gasped. "Why, whatever do you mean?"

"Oh, come now," Blackquill laughed. "I know very well why you ended up in the clink, and I know your tenacity-- pigs will fly the day you stop pinching pennies."

Mr. Krabs frowned, face aghast, before it suddenly broke into a huge grin. "Argh, you know me too well. Are you offering me your services?"

Blackquill shrugged. "If you want them."

Mr. Krabs counted a few more bills before shutting the cash register. He raised one crusty eyebrow. "Your services. My boy, you wouldn't mean...."

"But I do." Blackquill pushed off from the table, striding over to the man. He loomed large over the crab. "It's been a long time, Eugene. I know you haven't anyone out here, and nor do I."

"Well, I never did remarry after Pearl's mother.... But, Blackquill--"

"Simon."

"Simon. We can't do this again-- you were innocent. You're a free man, with nothing holding you back. I wouldn't want to drag you down with me."

"Hmph. You hold more respect for me than your unwitting employees."

"Well, you're not an employee or a customer. You're something else. Something special."

With one lithe finger, Blackquill tilted Mr. Krabs's chin to look up at him. "And what, pray tell, is this category called?"

Mr. Krabs was silent.

"That's what I thought."
