Chapter Text
The lions flew in the direction of Earth.
“Guys we did it! We’ve made it to Earth!” The green paladin screamed, almost boosting from her seat with excitement.
“Before we land on earth we need to make sure we know where to properly land our lions. Got it, team?” The former black paladin, Shiro, asked. All the paladins yelled, “Yes Sir” in agreement.
Finally, the paladins reached the ground. Their armored feet touch the Arizona soil. The humidity hit them like thunder. Quickly all 5 paladins, plus Shiro, had stripped themselves of their helmets within seconds. Lance quickly darted his eyes over to his worried family.
“Mama!” He screamed as he ran into a big hug with his family.
The same process happened with Pidge and her brother, Matt. They ran into the arms of their mother.
Keith started off into the distance. Coran and Hunk had been talking so he was all to himself. He would’ve spoken with his adoptive brother, Shiro. However, Shiro was visiting Adams memorial plat. He spotted Iverson. (Who just so happened to be in the same direction as James Griffin; Keith's rival from when they were only cadets.) He gave a small wave to Iverson, only having the intention of respect. Keith wanted to apologize to Iverson, he never gave Iverson the respect he was supposed to be given. But when Keith waved James caught his attention. Griffin had waved back. ‘Coward..’ Keith thought as he trotted over to Iverson lightly bumping James’ shoulder in the process.
James looked over to him, giving him a small, “Sorry..” James thought it had been his fault Keith had run into him, which is why he had apologized. Keith only glared at him and shrugged it off. The black paladin continued to talk with Iverson. Almost losing his cool as he felt the cold and somehow regretful stare James gave him.
The talk-time Keith had with Iverson had passed and right as Keith turned James faced him.
The raven scoffed, rolled his eyes, crossed his arms, and walked away. He didn’t want to deal with anyone right now. Especially not James Griffin.
“Ke..” James stopped himself. “Kogane,” he corrected. “Can we talk?”
Keith stared at him and attempted to walk away. “Please! I wanna talk, Keith.” James said genuinely. He didn’t care if he had said his first name, he hadn’t even noticed it until Keith wore this sick, cold, and hateful look of expression. James could read it all. Keith wasn’t willing to hear him out. The other turned to walk away from James but in doing so the brunette grabbed Keith by his wrist, practically restraining him from walking any further.
Keith snapped, “Let. me. Go!” He screamed. His face boiling with anger. James tried not to show fear with any expression but his shaky hands proved him otherwise
. “I'm sorry! Keith, please I’m sorry! And I mean it. I never knew about your parents, I never knew about any bad situation you had been in! I should've never said all those things in the past and I'm sorry!” He yelled desperately, tears swelling in his eyes. Mid apology Keith aggressively pulled his wrist away from James and started walking away... Slowly. He wanted to hear that sincere apology for many years now. It could’ve been a decade if they never got back to earth.
“You had ages to apologize. Save it, Griffin.” Keith said aggressively.
He had left James alone. Everyone was staring at him as he dropped onto his knees in tears.
James felt humiliated.
